al fin un poco de la historia de cirrus, veamos por que es tan imbecil

This volume concentrated mostly on Skylar's past and didn't move his relationship with Cirrus forwards any. However, it was an interesting backstory and important in order to understand Skylar's reactions in the present.

This volume focused a lot on Skylar and his past. How he turned out was highly affected by his parents’ divorce and his friendship with Minwoo.
There were some hard moments in this volume. Especially near the end.. Minwoo does something horrible and disgusting in retaliation of something Skylar did. Should Skylar have done what he did though? No. But he did not deserve what happened and what’s going to happen in the next volume. I don’t like Minwoo because he definitely was flirty towards Skylar and almost leading him on, just to be homophobic… But they are teens, just trying to figure things out. I appreciate the author making these characters seem like actual kids. The dialogue and the things they do really reflect that. I have to remind myself that they aren’t going to talk it out right away like adults lol.

I admit I was nervous going into this because of what Seven Seas did with Boss Bxtch Baby. The awful typos and grammatical errors of that series made me afraid it’d be the same here but I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case.

This volume dives into Skylar’s past and I’m going to be honest what Skylar did was in no way ok. I understand he’s a confused teenager sorting his feelings out but no kissing a sleeping person is not ok however that does not excuse what Minwoo does in retaliation. This is someone that’s supposed to be your best friend. Again it’s not ok what he did but Skylar showed clear signs of being sorry and appalled by what he did. Minwoo on the other hand is not sorry and it appears in the next volume he’s going to do even more.

The situation of Skylar’s home life made me uncomfortable because it hit me on a personal level. His mother being angry with him for his sister being hurt when he was “supposed to be taking care of her” Meanwhile Skylar himself is still a child and his mother is placing unfair expectations on him.

I really liked this and have a feeling this series is going to end up being an emotional one.

One point taken away because I’m still indifferent to Cirrus.

This volume was a lot more focused on Skylar…which was detrimental to this Cirrus brain rot girlie 😔 I loooove Cirrus so much, and I couldn’t get fully into this volume because it felt like he was hardly in it 😩 Worst of all, both Cirrus and Skylar were so chill and (mostly) reasonable in this volume that I didn’t even get to enjoy them both being insufferable! Truly a lose-lose situation for me.

Regardless.

I’m here to say that Minwoo is a fucking pig, and I hate him. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that what Skylar did was fine, but there was no premeditation to it. What Minwoo did was absolutely planned, and heinous to do to someone you spent years treating as your best friend. Even before that, however, Minwoo was a terrible friend. He kept peer pressuring Skylar into doing things and interacting with people he didn’t want to. He genuinely disgusts me, and it’s devastating that Skylar cares so much about him. Please, baby. Fall in love with someone else, and not just because they remind you of that piece of trash 😩

Anyway ☹️ I shall await the release of the next volume.

ok finalmente el lore de Skylar, si bien nunca se justifica que haya sido un forro es completamente entendible que haya actuado como lo hizo por sus traumas y se nota un poco trata de redimirse (por donde voy leyendo al menos) habiendo cambiado su comportamiento con Chanil lo cual también dice mucho de su personaje y no lo sé, siempre disfruto de personajes grises

I reread this season because it has ended since I haven't kept up with this manhwa in a while. The characters in this coming-of-age comic are multifaceted and realistic.

— Let's discuss the characters —

They were both showing trauma; although though Skylar loves Cirrus, he has attachment issues with Minhwoo, which he mentioned Chan reminded him of, and Cirrus has an abandonment fears that he has been projecting into Skylar since early in the story. Cirrus wants Skylar to see him as who he truly is. That chapter was a lot to handle and truly too hard to read.


Skylar was having a trauma response, and he is terrified and confused about whether he likes Cirrus or is using him to move on. Cirrus believes he will be unable to live without the love of someone because he has been mistreated his entire life. Skylar was the first to treat him this way.

Skylar kept running away from his problems rather than facing them. The reason he wears glasses is to avoid his mother's gaze by keeping him from looking into her eyes. and assuming that if he wore them, he would be a different person and that no one would know the truth. As a way for him to reject his past self.

Even though I love them, their relationship is toxic because they hurt each other so badly. Yet, I felt an overwhelming amount of love and empathy for both of them. because I can really relate with them. I wish there had been more of them expressing their feelings and issues, but the manhwa was rushed to finish.

This volume is pretty dark honestly with all the background we learn about Skylar. I have a lot of empathy for him and his family. Both dealt with things they didn't have the tools to deal with properly and mishandled the situation.

His old best friend... that's a complicated order there. I kind of wish it didn't play out that way but that is me looking for the "perfect" scenario instead of real life and in the end we end up with two unexcusable situations.

Therapy needs to become a thing in Manhwa cause this volume is mostly trauma.

Personally, I prefer my darker more traumatic stories to have adults but that is a personal preference and there is just something that makes this feels like it won't be satisfying to me. Like even if I move past my personal preference, I would want Skylar, his sister, and his mom to have honest conversations to discuss what everyone went through and how they move forward in a productive way. I just don't think that is gonna happen. His old bestie... I hope we never see him again cause nothing would make me feel satisfied, I didn't like him even before the big events occured.

Kinda confused bc according to goodreads there are like 6-7 seasons, eventhough there are only 3
Anyways this was good, it felt a lil unfinished tho and so many things were open (f.e. Are Skylar and Cirrus still in the closet? What happened to the rapey teacher? Also the little snippet of minwoo after season one… I wish there was more. I wish minwoo would suffer and regret the way he treated Skylar. It wouldn’t redeem him but I just would like to see that, maybe it would give Skylar some closure)
