I never expected my stepfather’s sins to cost me my freedom.

One moment, I’m dreaming of a future I actually want. The next, I’m being handed over to a man who doesn’t know the meaning of mercy.

Massimo Marino is ruthless, a man feared by many, and now he’s my husband. To him, I’m nothing more than collateral for a debt owed. But if he thinks I’ll be the obedient, silent wife, he’s sorely mistaken.

Yet the more I fight, the more tangled we become. Every glance, every touch, every threat sends my pulse racing with something far more dangerous than fear.

I thought my freedom was the only thing worth fighting for. But when I uncover the truth about the traitor among us, I realize Massimo isn’t the only monster at my door.

Now, the real question isn’t whether I can escape him, but whether he’ll believe me before it’s too late.

Okay this book wasn’t terrible- it had elements that I typically search for in mafia romances.. like the “my wife” trobe… I just felt like this book lacked luster in a few places and was too fact paced in others

Hear me out, I'm actually so sad to rate this so low because I loved Bianchi and would definitely reccomend that one, please read that.

But this one felt like a completely different author. Maybe it was a clear narrative choice to diverge so much from book one in tone? I am not sure but I didn't like Marino at all. And Margot at first claims to be this altruistic v1rgin loving her boyfriend of 5 years and vows to not let Marino touch her but gives in easily on the wedding night.

Plus it's very non consensual. Marino says he won't force himself on her one minute but then clearly does just pages after that. And she makes it known she doesn't want the s3x. He's not likable at all. It almost felt erotica in how quick we get to s3x and how dirty talking he is...he's almoat robotically cold. Then she inwardly says how she likes the rough play but this doesn't compute to me with how she was acting just before she got married to him (being emotional about losing her boyfriend and not wantingto be forced to have s3x). Also I couldn't get a sense of Marino for a while, what his physical description is, any meaningful inner thoughts towards her other than her submitting.

I couldn't get into this at all because I didn't like them as a couple, nor how some of their internal reflections didn't align with how they then acted pages after. Felt at odds, confusing, and spice over plot. I'm sadly disappointed in this 2nd entry but still reccomend the first book wholeheartedly!

I am always happy to read a mafia romance with an obsessive MMC and a fiesty FMC.

Massimo Marino is a mafia boss who is used to getting whatever he wants. When a man who owes him money offers up his stepdaughter to save his life, Massimo becomes instantly obsessed after seeing her picture. He wants her and will have her by any means necessary.

Margot has a difficult relationship with her mother and stepfather, which only gets worse when she is told she has to marry a mafia boss to save her stepfather's life. The life she had planned quickly falls apart, and she is pissed. She doesn't want to cause anyone's death by refusing to marry Massimo, but that doesn't mean she has to make their marriage easy.

Massimo and Margot have a push and pull relationship that is fun to read. Their story is a quick, easy read with some spice, violence, and enemies to lovers vibes.

enjoyed the book

I gave this book 4 stars because I really enjoy these characters and this series. I was eager to hear Massimo’s story. I enjoyed the book, I just had a few issues with it. I had a problem finding a connection between the Massimo and Margot. I couldn’t grasp how Margot could fall so easily with a man she only met once (practically on their wedding night) when she had been in love with someone else for 5 years. My heart actually ached for Evan. Considering it is a mafia story, there was not much drama or suspense. It was more about Margot’s rebellious behavior and the marriage of convenience. The spice is very high. I also found it interesting to learn that Leo and Haven were a couple. That had never been mentioned before and none of the characters seemed shocked to learn she Haven was pregnant and Leo was the father of the baby.

Sinful New York series book 2

In this dark romance mafia novel, we follow another couple from the Sinful New York series. I suggest you read Bianchi beforehand, because the plot continues in Marino.

Margot lives with her mother and step-father. Their relationship is strenuous at best, even more so when she discovers she is being sold into marriage to Massimo Marino as a debt payment. Reluctantly, she must agree, but not without a fight. A fight that Massimo enjoys per times, yet he still needs to install discipline in his new, wild wife and uncover the rat he knows hides in the midst of his circle.

Marino was fun to read, especially the push and pull of Margot and Massimo. I must admit that there were times where their inner monologues didn’t align with their actions at all, and it was confusing because they didn’t try to convince themselves, their thoughts were genuine. Situations were fleetingly confusing sometimes. It was different from Bianchi, which is alright, after all we like diversity, but if you expect something along those lines regarding Marino, you will not find it. Nonetheless, it was a quick read if you want to read a dark mafia romance with an insta-lust couple with a possessive mmc and a “brat” fmc.

Thanks so much to Addison Tate for the arc.

If you love a mafia romance with obsession, spice, and a heroine who gives zero damns, grab this now. Massimo is a mafia boss who sees Margot’s picture and basically decides, “Mine.” Too bad she’s not having it.

Margot’s sold off by her loser stepdad, and she’s pissed. Sure, she agrees to the wedding, but she makes Massimo’s life a living hell… and he is weirdly into it. Their push and pull? Pure gold. The chemistry? Absolutely filthy.

You get spicy scenes, betrayal, violence, and a heroine who bites back. Quick, hot, and addicting.

First of all I really want to thank Addison Tate for this ARC.
I was really excited to get into it.
There are many things that I enjoy about this story.
I liked the MCs; Margot is a feisty FMC and Massimo is ruthless.
I liked the push and pull, the tension between them.
And I mean I love the arranged marriage trope and the possessiveness from a good mafia book.
I feel like they shouldn't fit together but somehow they do. I would have like for them to interact more with eachother to be able to truly believe in their relationship.
I really had a great time and enjoyed the story. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Wow! Really enjoyed Massimo’s story! Loved the marriage of convenience. A lot of fire and passion between Margot and Massimo. I love a FMC who is defiant and likes to push buttons. Margot did just that! I loved the enemies to lovers and the Mafia story. Was hooked and really enjoyed the story. Would love to see Daniele and Leonardo have a book! They are my favourite side characters. Highly recommend this book for an easy to read, enemies to lovers, Mafia romance. Thank you for the ARC Addison 🩷

A obsessive MMC and a feisty FMC are the perfect combination to making this mafia romance book fantastic. It’s easy to say, I wanted to kick Massimo’s ass a time or two at the beginning for his arrogant personality but he eventually worked himself out of my shit list and I ended up swooning for him taking up for his wife. Nothing like that third act heart wrenching to really get you crying though…I wasn’t prepared emotionally for that but thank god these two MCs got their act together.

This was another fast and fun Mafia story from Addison Tate. I swear I can consume anything they write in one day. It's so dang good!! Marina is brooding, which just makes him more lovable. it's a classic enemies to lovers story. I simply can't wait for book three! there are story lines throughout the book, just as in book one, which I'm sure will come to fruition in book three. It's a fast-paced book, great characters, the plot is simple enough to understand. sometimes mafia books can get pretty involved and intricate. But this one was easy to follow, without a ton of characters being thrown at me. definitely a five-star review for me!

was so lucky to receive this book as an ARC

honestly I loved this book ! it was right amount of everything. it honestly grabs you, pulls you in and leaves you in a choke hold !
I completely fell in love with Marino everything about this hunk of a man was perfect he was just perfect. His and Margot relationship didn't start in the right way at all, her being sold by her step father gambling debts. Margot really was a bad ass character from the very start. she wouldn't anything stop her not even a wedding to man she never seen before but she had no choice so what the best way to get back at the world and everyone around her...make their lives hell and she sure did. she didn't give up and made Massimo life very hard indeed but the sexual chemistry between these two characters was something else the push and pull was amazing to read.
Not only did she have to find a new balance in her life she also had to uncover the rat in the family home.
this book sure gives you everything, such amazing read and would highly recommend this book 😁

Massimo Marino what can I say about you. At first I wasn’t his biggest fan as the ruthless mafia leader who bargains with someone who owes him money and takes his step daughter to be his wife. He’s obsessive and protective and actually for me ends up being super swoony and my opinion does a complete 180. Margot is a fierce FMC who does not take any of massimos crap and I love that. She definitely gives him a run for his money and I love that so much. If you’re in the market for a hot mafia romance this is one for you.

Marino by Addison Tate is the second book in the Sinful New York series. Like the first, this is a gripping Mafia romance with Massimo and Margot as the main characters.
While it's not necessary to read the first book, for a better reading experience, I recommend reading Bianchi as the overarching storyline does continue into this book.
This story and the suspense, had me hooked from the very beginning. Addison writes in a way that makes the story come alive. It's descriptive without being overdone and really keeps you engaged.
I did feel for Margot in the beginning. She'd been snatched out of a life she knew and thrust into a world she knew nothing about. Nothing made sense to her and her life wasn't her own anymore. Despite this, her resilience came through and she really held her own.
Massimo was your typical broody Mafioso, trying to uncover who has been coming after them.
There were so many moving pieces to this story, and slowly things started to unravel and become clearer. Addison's ability to keep us in suspense and on the edge of our seats was masterfully done.
Massimo and Margot were complete opposites, but they worked really well together, I think arguing was their foreplay and I enjoyed seeing their push and pull. It kept things interesting.
While this may be the end of their chapter, there's still some unanswered questions and I can't wait to dive back into the next book when it comes out.
Marino by Addison Tate is perfect for fans of Dark Mafia romance!

🖤🥀ARC Review 🥀🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I absolutely adore a good Marriage of Convenience, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint! Throw in a strong-willed and passionate Female Main Character who is determined to Push the Male Main Character’s buttons, and you have a top-notch read! Massimo Marino is accustomed to getting what he desires, and what he desires is Margot. However, Margot faces a challenging life and strained relationship with her mother and stepfather. The situation intensifies when she discovers she is forced to marry a mafia boss. Also, side note: I hated Margot’s mom with a passion. The way she cared more about her husband than her own daughter made my heart hurt for Margot!! Also, Margot is a better person than I would have been because I would have let her stepfather live with the consequences of his actions. (Just saying😂) Despite agreeing to marry Massimo, Margot refuses to make his life easy. The undeniable chemistry and intense pull between these two characters are captivating! Even when Margot makes Massimo’s life difficult at times, he still trusts her implicitly, especially when the mysterious character who has been haunting them since the first book reveals himself. I also loved that we got to see Bianchi again!! LOVED Bianchi and Marino!!! Check out this book on Kindle Unlimited!

This book has everything!! I hate that it took me so long to read and finish it, but best believer I was reading every free chance I got!

Massimo Marino is a ruthless mafia boss known as "The Crow" because when he sees something he wants he stops at nothing to take it. And that's exactly what he did with Margot!

When Alvin, Margot's loser stepdad, offers her up in payment of a debt he owes in order to save his own life, Massimo becomes instantly obsessed with her beauty, but what seals her fate to him is her attitude and defiance when he first meets her.

Josephine, Margot's mother, does nothing to stop this and instead manipulates her daughter to go along with it.

While the marriage to Massimo is something she fights, given that she had been in a committed and long term relationship with Ethan, it ends up being exactly what she needs. He saves her from Josephine's manipulation and gives her everything.

Margot fights it initially but cannot deny the chemistry they have.

In the end, they are exactly what the other needs. 🥰

This is a very easy read. Not complicated at all. Atleast to me. I have trouble remembering names and their relations. This story is short and swift.

Massimo marino is a mafia boss. He knows he has a rat. A mole somewhere in his house and he needs to find him soon. But then his position is questioned as a boss without a wife. So when he is offered a girl as a payback, he loathes the idea and the man who owed him money. But he's captivated by her beauty when he saw her picture and even more so when he actually saw her.
He liked her even more when he realised she actually has a spine and is not afraid to speak her mind and call him out for things.

For Margot, everything changed one evening. Her life as a 22 year old woman, her boyfriend whom she loved and her hatred towards her 'mother' and supposedly 'father' who didn't hesitate for a second to pawn her away to save himself.

There's a lot of push and pull.
Some tension
A lot between M and M

Massimo, Massimo Marino you absolute devil of a man you are… everything I love and devoured about a Mafia Romance and again Addison delivers another absolute banger of a story

Massimo is the boss all Alpha male and what he wants he gets he’s feral and a force to be reckoned with
When he’s owed something he’s ready to collect but when it can’t be collected another option is put in his path… the way I wanted to climb into this book and shake to crap out of the stepfather and the mother isn’t even funny.. horrible pieces of s***e

Margot… the way I felt for her, for her character
She’s full of defiance and fire.. not ready to back down and willing to test and push the boundaries
She meets her match with Massimo and when she has to stand up when a debt can’t be paid and she has to become his… the push and pull between these two was intense and sooo good

There’s a think line between love and hate and when lines are blurred it makes the best of stories

I’m convinced if Addison wrote a shopping list I’d buy it and I can’t wait to grab the paperbacks of this book and looking forward to reading the next book

I loved getting to explore Massimo after what we saw of him in the first book, as he is a lot more complex than he is portrayed to be and it was intriguing to watch him in a different light and to really see his perspective and internal thoughts on what was going on around him. Margot is such a strong willed character, that battles so much between right and wrong in this new world that she has been thrusted into. She fights so hard to stay true to herself and finds the perfect balance between both worlds. My theories were proven correct but I do believe there is more to come and be revealed regarding this situation, I can just sense a spanner being thrown into the works somewhere. The writing flowed really nicely and I can’t wait for the next book. I have a theory on who the couple could be and if it is, then I already know it’s going to be a good one based on the little glimpses we’ve had😏.

From the very beginning, this book keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. We follow Margot and Massimo’s journey as he claims her as his new bride. But how can you control someone so free-spirited and not from your world? Massimo tries, but he understands that his new bride is everything he loves. However, he’s too stubborn to admit it out loud. Margot, on the other hand, is ripped from what she thinks is her true love and thrown into this world as collateral damage due to her stepfather’s debt.

Through this story, we witness the push and pull between them. But amidst all that, we see the bond of true love. And how when we least expect to find it, we do. And how it’s the ultimate realization of just how deep our feelings run for those we least expect. It was a beautiful story.

What a great read. First, I forgot there was a book 1 when I started reading this (my bad, I got an ARC and just forgot lol) but I can say, while you can read this as a standalone, there are clearly parts of book 1 referenced and yes I'll be heading back to read it. Mafia/arranged marriage - lots of blood and guts, enemies to lovers push and pull relationship. Massimo gets Margot as a bride from her step father who owe's him money. He's instantly pulled to her, while she's rightly resentful of having her choices taken away. There are some what I think of as "typical" type of Mafia intrigue - however the way Addison wrote them was new to me and I really enjoyed it. I especially appreciated Margot's choice of wedding attire - I've read it once before and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT. It was also great not to have a third act break up/reconciliation arc.

3.5 ⭐️ 2 🌶️
- i absolutely loved the first book in the series (Bianchi) so i was so excited for this but some of it came a bit short. I was expecting more action ??

Margot’s strength throughout all of it was surprising as she kept most of it locked up. I love how Massimo was completely enamored by her from the first time he saw her picture.

It felt more a case of Stockholm syndrome rather than them falling in love but i’m not against it. It’s sometimes more a pro for me lol. I needed more development between Massimo and Margot which is where the 1.5 star dropped. they had the connection and the potential for a phenomenal storyline but some of it lacked.

The ended was a bit too rushed and could have done another maybe 30/40 pages. It still ended satisfyingly. Also wish i saw more of Romeo and aurora from Bianchi.

Margot is hoping to escape her mother and husband, who are both a complete waste of space. Eventually, they drag poor Margot into a situation that seems like the end of her hopes and dreams.
Massimo is broody, controlling, and determined to figure out where the betrayal is coming from — the kind of man who doesn't let people in easily... until her.
Marino brings the perfect blend of dark romance and intense action, plus those steamy scenes that Massimo delivers so well. He’s possessive, protective, and the “touch her and die” kind of guy.
The push and pull between these two makes the story addictive, from the first chapter to the very last. And it's a shorter read, which is a bonus if you are looking for something lighter to read in the mafia genre.
Bonus points for Massimo’s dirty mouth.

ARC Review - posted week after release due to rating!

I am so very thankful for the ARC and cherish these as they are authors from whom I love and have read the entire backlog of books but I had high hopes for this and it didn't hit the mark for me!

Let me start out by saying it's a great idea if you read book 1 - Bianchi as it will help set the scene for this!

Massimo was someone who could have become the ultra alpha and knocked Romeo (book 1) of the spot but something was missing.

The chemistry between him and Margot was great! He went feral and possessive in a way we only hoped after the snippets of him in book one.

Margot was defiant in places and certainly gave Massimo a run for his money but parts of her story and the overall story felt repetitive, and ultimately I wanted more action, more what ifs, more scorching chemistry.

ARC REVIEW: I really liked this book. I love me, an obsessive MMC and spitfire of an FMC.
This is a forced marriage, enimies to lovers Mafia romance.

Massimo Marino is the Mafia Don who gets everything he wants by any means necessary. So when he is offered a guys stepdaughter to pay his debt and sees her picture, he is instantly obsessed and will have her by any means.

Margot is a sweet girl who is in love with her best friend and is planning for them to be together forever. When one night, her stepfather comes in all beat up and says she has to marry a stranger or he will die. She ends up deciding to do it and meets Massimo.

Their marriage is rocky, to say the least, so be prepared for good banter, violence, and lots of passion. Just check your TW first.

So, this story is set in the world of mafia power struggles, with different families and bosses trying to outdo each other. The relationship between the main two characters is complicated. He's a tough guy, and their interactions can be a bit rough around the edges, leaving you to decide what you think about it. Neither of them is a pushover, so it's like watching fire and water mix with gasoline – does it work? You'll have to read it to see.
Massimo is definitely the alpha type, a real force to be reckoned with. When someone owes him, he expects to be paid. But when money isn't an option, Margot gets put in his path. You really feel for her character. She's got a lot of fight in her and isn't afraid to push back. Seeing the dynamic between her and Massimo, especially when she's forced to be his, is what makes the story interesting.

They say love and hate are two sides of the same coin - the story of Massimo and Margot does nothing to disprove this. They are thrown together by circumstance and must decide if their marriage will sink or swim.
Similar to book one, there are a number of classic mafia tropes. Not as many are flipped, but the take on the genre is still refreshing and makes for a very enjoyable read. Like the first book, the door is wide open - at this point I think it’s been nailed to the wall.
With at least two more couples for future books (that I can identify), there’s plenty more room to enjoy this deliciously darker series.
