The Baptist War gives account to the biggest slave revolt in Great Brittan's Caribbean colonies. It provides an in-depth look into the Christmas War, Sam Sharpe’s War, and the Emancipation War, explaining why it is one of the greatest slave uprisings. It is a well written book and easy to read and follow along. I learned a lot from the information, and it makes for a great reference on the subject at hand.

The book is more a history of slavery in the early New World and of the resulting slave revolts. The Baptist War was one of the latter, a particularly large one in Jamaica that gets more focus.
