She used to be famous. Now she just wants to survive.

Ex-pop star Victoria London is shocked when she gets an email containing a gruesome photo of her old friend Nikki Stone. Nikki’s been dead for almost twenty years. And Victoria was the one who killed her.

Although Nikki’s death was a tragic accident, it has haunted Victoria ever since and was one of the reasons she turned her back on stardom. The other was an obsessed fan who stalked her and made her life a misery.

When Victoria decided to leave fame behind, she set up a wolf rescue charity. After the snake pit of life as a celebrity, she found the company of wolves safer, and much more rewarding.

But her hard-won peace is shattered by the anonymous email containing the picture of Nikki.

It brings up painful memories and emotions she thought she had left behind. It stirs up something deadlier too - a ruthless killer who seems determined to make Victoria pay for her past mistakes.

Can Victoria hold on to her fulfilling life caring for the animals she loves? Or will she finally have to pay a horrifying price for the darkness that came with stardom?

Crazy For You – the chilling psychological thriller perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Daniel Hurst and Ruth Ware.

Okaaay. That’s it? What did I miss?

I don’t know what to feel about this book. The first few chapters were interesting, and I got so invested in the characters that I expected a mind-blowing twist. The author kept going on about something that happened 20 years ago—something shocking, something Victoria tried to hide and run away from. I figured it out halfway through, though.

And when that “shocking event” was revealed, I no longer cared. This is a slow-burn—too slow, dragging, and repetitive. I fell asleep a couple of times, really.

Don’t get me wrong. The first few chapters were exciting, but the boring stuff didn’t make up for the whole thing.

Thanks to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC!

Ex-popstar Victoria left the glam and glitz behind when a tragic accident left a young girl dead. Twenty years later, she runs a struggling wolf sanctuary. In order to get fundraising to prevent the sanctuary being closed, she agrees to a tell-all interview. But now an old stalker has resurfaced, making Victoria fear for her life.
Well, Marnie has done it again. This was a brilliant, fast-paced thriller that had me flying through the pages in just a few hours. This was such a great read, and I highly recommend. Also, if you've not read any of Marnie's other thrillers, what are you waiting for?

Crazy For You by Marnie Vinge involves X teen sensation Victoria Tate who after the loss of a good friend and her going off the deep end has retreated to Arkansas and lives on her wolf sanctuary with her assistant Joey. She enjoys her new home as it’s not only a sanctuary for the wolves but for Victoria her self she doesn’t like outsiders coming in but does agree to an interview to try and raise money because she’s on the verge of losing it. Soon after the interviewer Ali shows up so does Jake the manager from victorious pass in one of those unwelcome outsiders she never wanted to let in. She just wants to get through the interview and go back to her life but when she starts getting new threatening emails just like before she left the business she knows it will not be that simple. The book is broken up into three parts one is a young girl name Alice who loves Victoria Tate the singer, Joey Victoria‘s assistant and then victorious POV. Throughout the book you’re wondering what does one have to do with the other but then when it all collides you like whoa I kind of saw that coming but didn’t see that coming at all. I have never read a book by this author but I will definitely read more from her in the future as she knows how to write an edge of your seat mystery that leaves you breathless racing to get to the end and please don’t think I am exaggerating because I am definitely being totally honest. I know some people like to talk up their reviews to be like this book change my life but I am not saying that I am saying this is a good thriller and I absolutely enjoyed it and you could take that to the bank or the library LOL!.

A famous singer leaves her career behind due to a tragedy. We also have another story about two best friends. The friends love the singer’s music, and one even goes to an autograph signing. The singer is now running a wolf rescue and more importantly from her past. This dual storytelling really amps up the tension in this novel, and there’s never a dull moment. And we all know there will be a huge collision when these stories collide. While bits may be guessed, the true nature of the horror is spine tingling. Another great read from this author! Thanks to her for this ARC!

I'm a sucker for anything, Marnie Vinge. I just love the way she writes and the vibes of her stories. This one was another great twisty tale. The gasp I gasped when I figured it all out!!! Sneaky sneaky!

This one was particularly fun for me because of the wolves and stalker vibes, who wouldn't love a book with those things in it! I love animals, and I am always down for unhinged and unreliable characters, instant win for me with this one!

I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

So much praise for this book and author. Marnie hit another home run with her new book, Crazy for you! Victoria used to be an amazing pop star twenty years ago until her best friend fell to her death. They said it was suicide but was it? Now, Victoria runs a wolf rescue but finding is in desperate need. She decides to do an exclusive interview to help with fundraising efforts. But an unwelcome person down her past has shown up and also a long ago stalker has resurfaced. Is everything going to blow up for Victoria and ruin everything she has accomplished? I highly recommend this amazing book! So many stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a good story that kept me guessing right until the end...and wow what an ending. I guess the old saying keep your friends close but your enemies even closer really does pertain to this book. Just remember sometimes those who we think are friends, might not be too friendly.

This is the story of Victoria London an old pop star that was a big hit in her day. Victoria keeps getting messages about Nikki Stone who was a friend of hers almost 20 years ago. She died and police ruled it was a suicide. But was it? She thinks the person sending her messages is her old manager, Jake Fields. He is a real womanizer and likes his women very young. Due to this accident of her friend, she left stardom and opened a wolf rescue. Another reason is she had a very obsessed fan that stalked her and made her life miserable.

Victoria is hounded by reporters wanting to tell her story so she finally agrees to tell Allie her story and bring in some money for the rescue so she can keep it going. Jake is doing the interview too so they will all be at her house for the interview. She also has a friend Joey that helps her with the rescue and the animals that will be there as well.

As time gets closer to the interview Victoria's hard-won peace is shattered by the email from an unknown sender. It brings up painful memories and emotions that she thought were buried in her past. Someone knows what she did, and it is time for her to pay.

I got this book from Book Sprout and will be happy to leave my review.

I was immediately drawn in to stalker plot, and I always enjoy when all of the characters have something to hide. The alternating timelines and multiple POVs were done well to tell the story. This was definitely a slow burn with a lot of twists in the end, even though it didn't really pick up until about 85% of the way through. I had a few of the twists figured out early on, but there were a few surprises I didn't see coming.

Excellent thriller filled with mystery and suspense throughout. Told between time frames and characters which can seem confusing, yet it all comes together in shocking revelations and conclusion. The inclusion of a wolf sanctuary made it interesting as well. One of the better reads this year!

My Initial Thoughts

When i first started reading this, i couldn't believe that we was told the crime straight away, and it sets the pace from which all the drama follows Victoria and why she abandoned her live in LA, for the safety of the wolf rescue. Which may i add sounds like heaven, a place i would love to visit.

Plot

From the start of the storyline the pace is set, and you get a real feel for the dangers that Victoria faces in just existing. There is many a secret hidden in side the story line, and when it matters nothing is as at seems. I managed to figure it all out before i had finishing reading but i still didn't expect the drama that continently flowed.

Characters

The characters were a diverse mix within the story. Victoria is the average teen pop star who turns away from the lime light with her own demons in tow. Jake.. the less said about him the better.. Alice has a very difficult childhood by no doubt but she's most certainly a little insane, and Joey just wants her quite live with Victoria at the ranch... "Besides, what is the worst that can happen"

Recommend

i recommend this to anyone that enjoys a easy flowing thriller.

Favourite Quotes

" I Just wanted to let you know that tonight was like a religious experience for me. I've never felt as connected to any other human being as i do to you through your music... Forever obsessed"

"Jake's presence is an entirely different level of threat to my life. The foreclosure is small in comparison. The bank won't kill me. But Jake might."

"The past has come back to haunt me. But i think i was haunted even before everything happened with Nikki Stone."

Favourite Chapter/s

I don't tend to have favourite chapters in thrillers.

Summed up in one sentence

A wolf-tastic thriller.

Overall Wrap up

I did enjoy this one, it was a very quick read and although i predicted the twist very early on, i enjoyed the other parts of the secrets and lies that were unearthed. Jake.. none of that i guessed at all. When you read as many thrillers as i do you become able to be the detective along with the story.

I don’t even know where to begin describing how incredible this book was. So many twists. Just when I thought I had it figured out wham a whole new twist thrown into the mix. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The anticipation of what would come next was so intense. If I could give this 10 stars I would. Absolutely amazing thriller. With a bit of a cliffhanger at the end suggesting there might be more to come.

Crazy For You is a suspenseful story about former pop star Victoria London, who now lives her life in isolation while running a wolf sanctuary. The declining financial situation of the sanctuary forces Victoria to invite Allie, a journalist whose previous videos have gone viral, to interview her in hopes that it will spark interest from potential donors. Victoria’s main concern for the interview: don’t let anyone find out what really happened the night Nikki died. However, she learns this may be difficult as Allie seems to have her own agenda.

This book is mostly written in Victoria’s POV during the week of the interview. She is a nervous wreck, and Marnie Vinge does a great job of putting Victoria’s anxiety on the page. Victoria overthinks and overanalyzes everything that is going on and is said during Allie’s visit, and she’s constantly on edge.

There are a few flashback chapters written from Alice’s POV. Alice is a young girl with a difficult home life, and she finds solace in Victoria’s music. As Alice’s relationship with her best friend becomes strained, she begins to rely on the only person who understands her: Victoria London. I love Alice’s chapters and seeing the progression of her character. I think the pathway from normal teenage delusion to unhealthy obsession was laid out well, and I enjoyed reading through each turn her mind would take.

I found this story to be a little predictable, but I did enjoy reading it. The pacing was a little slow for me in the beginning, but it picked up during the second half and kept me invested. Rating - 3.5

This is actually my first read by this author, which surprised me as it's not their only release and I read a lot of this genre!
I'm pleased to report though, that this definitely won't be my last read as I really got sucked into this right from the start.

This was a pretty standard format for a psychological thriller - but there were definitely some unique elements here that had me engrossed.

I loved the idea of Victoria 'retiring' to run the wolf sanctuary. I adore wolves and so this really drew me into the storyline - and I was intrigued with the events that caused this move as well as seeing the current day story unfold too.

I'm a fan of a multi-pov and dual timeline format and this has both so it was great to see all events unfold slowly over time and I loved the twists and shocks that came about from following the different pov's and getting right into the minds of our main characters.

This was a fast-paced a gripping read which had me racing through to discover the conclusion.
The writing style had me engrossed from the initial first few pages and I struggled to put this one down.
Definitely an author I'll be looking out for and I can't wait to find my next read soon.

I really enjoyed this one, it was quick and snappy and very easy to get into from the beginning. The book follows a small group of 4 main characters so it was always nice and easy to keep track of what was going on.

The book also switches back and forth between the current time and so many years before which I enjoyed, it really gave me a sense of what characters were like back then and how much they've changed.

Speaking of the characters- I thought they were very well written, I really enjoyed the one character's development in particular (I won't say who as spoilers), but looking at what they went through when they were younger, I can definitely understand why they were that way when older, I did feel extremely sorry for them too for most of the book. They just wanted someone to not abandon them!

The story is very well written, lots of great secrets, as I said it was very easy to read and I enjoyed the build up to the ending too, it created alot of suspense, especially since I didn't have a clue what would happen.

Overall a very enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend!

This book had me on my toes. This book was a fast paced, easy to read, full of action story. I felt so bad for the main character and her life and how screwed up it was. I thought the characters were described very well and I could literally picture them standing in front of me. There were a lot of un-expected surprised for me and also, I felt this story had creepiness. I thought the ending was a great and happy ending after all that happened to the main character. I would recommend this book if you like creepy, stalkerish type stories.

Pop sensation Victoria London leaves Hollywood after her fellow singer and best friend commits suicide. Oh and theres the small matter if a crazed stalker terrorizing her. Its now 20 years later and she runs a wolf sanctuary with Joey. But with the sanctuary needing funds badly, she agrees to an interview. But what secrets will be revealed? The past never stays hidden.

Well this surprised me. I was so convinced I had everything worked out but nope! Completely surprised me. A fantastic thriller that keeps you guessing where its going to turn next. Pick this one up thriller fans.

4.5 stars! This book had me from the beginning. The character development was really good! I thought I had it all figured out early on, but then WHAM!! My theory was wrong, and was there ever a surprise! The book was written with such care in the beginning, that you felt so sorry for the character Alice. I really enjoyed this book, and hope to read many more by this author! I recommend this book to everyone!

Or should one say stalkingly good?! This book is full of twists and turns and surprise visits from the past. I enjoyed the characters and their dynamics and the things that they thought they had kept secret.

I loved this! It had me hooked from the prologue. Totally thought I had it figured out but in the end I did not. I definitely felt my heart racing at times wondering what was going to happen next. Only thing I wish was different was the ending because it definitely left me hanging. But maybe there’s more? That could be fun :)

I had a hard time staying interested in this book. It wasn't very suspenseful until the very end. Right from the start, you knew who was killed, who the characters were and pretty much knew who was lying. I enjoy books that keep me guessing, but this wasn't one of them.

This was a good read. I did like the cover. Each chapter has Victoria Alice joey. I really didn't trust Alice at all. I certainly didn't like Jake at all. He was creepy. He gave me goosebumps. Gripping and twisty. I was surprised. I didn't expect that

My review
4 ⭐️.

I love a physcological thriller that grips you and this book is certainly that! Full of twists and turns and keeps you guessing, just what I want!

The characters sucked me and I really made me dislike and distrust some of the characters, exactly what the author wanted me to feel.

This is the first of Marnie’s books I’ve read and I’m certainly looking forward to reading the other books.

The blurb

She used to be famous. Now she just wants to survive.

When Victoria decided to leave fame behind, she set up a wolf rescue charity. After the snake pit of life as a celebrity, she found the company of wolves safer, and much more rewarding.

But her hard-won peace is shattered by the email from an unknown sender.

I was interested in this because the synopsis said it was perfect for fans of Ruth Ware, and I like her books. I also thought the part of the plot surrounding the conflicts between Victoria and Nikki sounded good.

I was gripped by the prologue and tried to get into the story, but it wasn't as gripping as I'd hoped. The pace was so fast that I felt like I was missing things rather than being gripped by the plot.

There were a lot of mentions of Victoria's songs by name. I'd have liked to have had some of the lyrics in the book. I wanted them to be immersive. I felt like the depiction of Victoria and her life fell very flat. She just didn't seem that famous to me.

It's good she had her fans, but I felt even they fell flat as characters. I know they had their favourite song, but they just weren't well created characters either.

I didn't feel that the sense of fear and anticipation that I got from the prologue was present throughout the book at all, so the story wasn't interesting enough for me.

Thanks to Marnie Vinge.
