She bought the cabin on a whim. But will it transform into her perfect getaway?Burnt out from her high-flying author career and dreaming of escaping her busy Manhattan life, when Laura discovers her husband cheating on her with another writer, she knows it’s time for a change. After her brother calls her about a country Bed and Breakfast for sale, Laura ditches New York and buys it on the spot… only to realize that the run-down cabin will need more than a little elbow grease to restore it to working condition.
As she’s swept up in the quiet joys of small-town life, an ad in the local paper draws her to the rugged handyman Paul – and though his wicked humor sours first impressions, she soon warms to his rustic charms. But her past isn’t done with her yet. Faced with the daunting reality of fixing up her cabin – and with her Manhattan agents pressuring her to return to the big city – Laura must find the strength to commit to her new future… and maybe find true love along the way.
Was this cabin the worst impulse buy in her life? Or will she find happiness amid the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains?
Dive into a cozy small-town adventure that will charm your heart with a feel-good story of new beginnings, wholesome romance, and healing from the past. The Smoky Mountain series is a delightful read that’s perfect for anyone who wants to grab their favorite coffee and be whisked away on an enchanting saga.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
Book number two in the great smoky mountains series of Novellas. I still feel the same after book one. I wish this was written as just one longer book rather than split into six different novellas.
I definitely enjoyed the fact the story line is now starting to develop. Im really rooting for Laura and its also refreshing to read a romance that is simple with an easy story line and no need for smut.
Read in one sitting when baby napped lol. Easy to read and I am invested in this series altho a bit slow and predictable? I like how each book is only 66 pages but could be a bit more imaginative with the titles as simply named book one and book two. Each book ends and next begins so really could be one big book.
Laura is looking into another writing opportunity with a new agent. She heads back to NYC but decides its not what she wants. She decides on opening the cabin as a B N B. Laura and Noah are exploring their relationship. Everything seems to be going well then Laura is served with papers. Her ex wants half of what she got for her apartment in NY! This is gonna be a setback for sure. Grace does a fantastic job writing these books. I'm waiting for Book 3. Can't wait.
I was given an ARC copy and this review is my own.
Laura looks into writing a new style of books and talks with her agent. After she is turned down, she decides to open the b&b. She and Noah embark on a new relationship, and she starts to outfit her new home. Suddenly, she is served and learns that Charles, her former husband is suing her for half of the proceeds of the apartment in NY that she bought. Another setback. I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my honest opinion.
No kidding it started out good and just kept getting better ! Seriously I had a hard time putting this book down im waiting on 3 now comes out on the 10th oh I can't wait
