12 authors one wooded mountain range = 12 fantastic hour reads! Stubborn Mountain Man is a very well written novella that finds Kane finally finding the solitude he craves in Sweetheart Falls. But then a chance meeting with Gillian when she hurts herself on his property finds him second guessing his need to be alone! I loved these two and really enjoyed reading their love story!!!.

As a former youth group girl, I totally get where Gillian is at in this story. I really enjoyed reading Kane and Gillian story. I can’t wait to see what else there is in this series

Gillian considers herself to be adventurous, while her high school friends think she's boring. They've given her the challenge of a solo hike. She's to do a three-hour hike to a campsite and send them a photo from there. After hiking for two hours, she hears a noise coming from off the trail. She can't help herself from investigating. Spying on the man chopping wood was maybe not the best decision of her life. Especially when, as she's backing away from her hiding spot, she steps into a deep hole, hurting her ankle...
Kane is a former Navy SEAL who was from Rosewood Ridge, Tennessee. He came from an abusive family. Since the death of his mother, his only contact with his family is weekly calls with his brother. He prefers the smaller town of Sweetheart Falls. He's resigned himself to being a single mountain man.
He was chopping up a tree for firewood when suddenly he heard Gillian's scream. He's never seen a more beautiful woman in his life. He takes her cabin to tend to her injury. Later, she convinces him to take her to the campground and pitch her tent. She can then send proof of the completion of her challenge. But that's not all that happened at the campsite!

Really enjoyed reading this short story. It is meant to be read in around 90 minutes, so I wont give too much away. This book revolves around Gillian, she has been dared by her so called friends, to hike up a mountain in sweetheart falls and camp by herself for the night. Her old high school friends think she is boring and that she needs to get out more, these "friends" are the same ones that she made a purity vow with when they were 12 years old and she has stuck to that vow ever since. She hears a weird noise in the woods and decides to investigate, she comes across a large, sexy, shirtless man chopping wood. Trying to back away slowly, so she wasn't caught staring at him, she loses her footing, screams, falls into a hole and twists her ankle, trapped and in pain, the only way out is with help from the sexy, quiet mountain man. Kane a former Navy seal was living a solitary life in the woods when he heard a woman scream, finding her trapped with her leg in a hole, he pulls her out and carries her back to his cabin to tend to her injuries. When the attraction between them becomes too much to bear, can they hold back from their feelings?
Great story with lots of steam and sweet moments.

Gillian has lived in Sweetheart Falls on and off throughout her life. Now, after being dared, she is on a hike heading to a campsite, but is distracted by a sound, so she goes towards it. She doesn’t realize that she has left the hiking trail, that she has done, numerous times. There she sees a gorgeous mountain man with his shirt off, while chopping wood. With a misstep, she ends up hurting her ankle and he takes her to his cabin. Kane is a law follower and former Navy Seal. He doesn’t have anything but electricity and running water. So they can’t get in touch with anyone. Kane’s brother lives in Rosewood Ridge (yay crossover!). Learning about his past made me tear up a lot. Gillian works remotely most of the time as a data analyst for a bank, but she wants to move back to Sweetheart Falls and a job that would let her do that. I found the interaction between Kane and Gillian to be fun, funny and he is stubborn! What he does for her is totally romantic and once they get together it turns totally steamy. The book is extremely romantic. Her father’s reaction bothered me, as she is over 21. Kane and Gillian are so cute together and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.

Stubborn Mountain Man is another amazing romance book written by Lilah Hart who writes fantastically amazing love stories. In my honest opinion, Author Lilah Hart continues to pour her heart and soul into the stories in which she creates through her amazing storytelling and writing skills. I was actually able to finish this amazing short story within about an hour if not less. Every book that I have read by Lilah Hart has completely captured my attention straight away and I didn’t want to put the book down until I had read the last page of each book. Stubborn Mountain Man follows the journey of Gillian and Kane. I couldn’t get enough of Gillian and Kane’s story, and I was slightly sad when their story came to an end. However, I love that Gillian and Kane’s story ends with a happily ever after. Stubborn Mountain Man is a book that I would give as a recommendation to anyone who is looking for a book that can be read in one sitting. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Author Lilah Hart will come up with for her next book.

Gillian's friends think that her life is not adventurous enough and dare her to go hiking and camping on her own, so she decides to do so in Sweetheart Falls, where she grew up and knows the trails inside out. What she doesn't know, is that Kane lives in these here parts and she finds him, shirtless, chopping wood. She twists her ankle and he helps nurse her tend to her ankle, and later agrees to go back with her to the camp site to take photos to prove to her friends that she was there. They decide it would be even better to make it look like they slept together, so they start undressing, and well..the rest is history.
This was a short story that has some links to the author's Rosewood Ridge universe, in which the author has based several wonderful series of books - go read them if you liked this story! As with many of Ms Hart's books, the characters are very likeable, cute and entertaining. You won't be disappointed!.

Ohh Sweetheart Falls....you always draw us in!!
We are finally getting ot Kane's story. We heard tell of him in his brother story, but he was just living on the other side of the mountain. Kanes got his reasons for keeping his grumpiness to himself. Gillin might have gone out on a whim, but she thought she knows the trails growing up in Sweetheart falls.
I love the genuine connection these two establish. Sometimes when you find the right person, the shyness or fear just melts away. I love how you see Kane give into realizing Gillian is the woman he wants forever. Gillian embracing she is an adult, and has to do what she wants....no rules needed!
These two are intense, sweet, sexy, and heartfelt. You really root for these two to have a forever HEA. It was sweet how Gillian's family accepted she is now an adult and are open to accepting Kane. This is the insta-love, insta-heart connection we want in our lives.....all in Sweetheart Falls!!

Kane is happy with the isolation of his cabin. He only ventures into town if he needs something. He quite happy to be alone the rest of his life. But then Gillian 'falls' into his life and turns it upside down.
Both can't believe how quick their feelings develop for each other and what they are willing to do to take the relationship further and make it work.
A quick, hot and spicy novella with HEA.

I'm not sure how to feel about this story. It felt a bit... awkward?
I liked the FMC - she was bubbly, a bit self-conscious and going through views changes. The MMC, however, I didn't really care for. I know that it's harder to build a complex character in a short story, but since the author succeeded in case of FMC it shows that's not impossible. It sort of felt like some paragraphs/sentences about his background were deleted last minute. The insta love part was cute, as always. But the high school friends part and the dare was rather awkward, but at least the FMC realized who is her real friend. The spice part was preceded with the whole dare/purity ring bonanza and felt weird too.

Gillian has goals and she and her friends have always had a pack a promise of sorts to remain pure with rings. She has been building her life and when her friends tell her that she's in a rut and dare her to take a hike she sets out to prove them wrong. However, when she hears a noise and goes to investigate she's about to get more than she bargained for. Kane is in the mountains for a reason. He is not a people person and wants nothing to do with anyone. When he hears a shot in his otherwise quiet forest he goes to see who is invading his space. When he finds Gillian things will start to change. Now she will need to heal and he will need to figure out how to get rid of her before feelings start to show. What happens when it's time for her to leave?

Stubborn Mountain Man is part of the multi-authored, Sweetheart Falls series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Gillian is a 23 year old sweet, curvy virgin whose "friends" say she is boring. They dare her to go on a 3 hour hike, and she ends up injured. Kane is a 35 year old hunky, grumpy, reclusive, tortured, ex-military man turned mountain man loner. When he hears Gillian scream, he finds her. He's attracted to her but doesn't need romance due to his baggage. But you can't fight fate. These two had amazing chemistry, and we got a great HEA after some minor angst. I loved the Rosewood Ridge connection, too.

Shirtless mountain man alert!

The woman knows what she wants! This is about Gillian and Kane. Gillian was lost and ended up hearing what she thought would be someone who could help but instead found herself stuck when her leg got caught into something, which now she wasn’t able to walk on. Being up on the mountain with no cell reception or Wi-Fi, she was going to have to wait for the next day to get help. Of course, once drinking alcohol a new idea comes to them to fulfil the dare her friends had on her for not being adventurous. This is a cute story, and I do love the happily-ever-after ending in the epilogue.

Stubborn Mountain Man is a standalone novelette by Lilah Hart, it is part of the multiauthor series Sweetheart Falls and also has ties to Hart's Rosewood Ridge universe.
Short and sweet and spicy. A great read for those that love a good instalove featuring a sexy, yet grumpy, mountain man, and the strong woman that he attracts. Kane and Gillian are a good match and their story left me with a smile. I look forward to more from Kane's family in Rosewood Ridge.

The Sweetheart Falls series is written by a collective of authors. Each book is a stand alone, short, hot, novella.
Gillian was dared by her friends to hike and camp at the lookout alone. She's been there plenty of times with others, so this shouldn't be a challenge. At least it wasn't much of one until she twisted her ankle.
Kane was determined to live alone after leaving the military, but helping Gillian changed all that.

I loved Kane and Gillian's book; it was a very sweet meet, cute, and believable insta-love/lust for the story's timeline. I'm just confused as to where this mountain man's stubbornness is. He wasn't stubborn at all in fact? As soon as we see his point of view, he is basically in love with her and thinking of how he can marry her, so the title just doesn't match the story. It is starting to irk me when authors/publishers use titles and cover models to sell a book that doesn't connect to the story.

Meet Kane, he's moved to Sweetheart Falls to get away from people. He hasn't seen anyone in months. While he is chopping wood he hears a noise, turns around and meets Gillian, who has tripped and fallen injuring her ankle. Instalove for this mountain man and this woman. This author writes wonderfully fun romantic fast paced steamy reads that can be read in a couple hours. You want some downtime, read her stories. They are great, steamy, great HEA's and I loved Kane and Gillian in this story.

Gillian knew the mountain trails well but this time she was alone, on a dare from her friends that she needed an adventure. Hearing a strange noise, she tracked it to Kane chopping up a downed tree. Stepping into a hole meant he would need to help her reach his house and then all bets are off as skyrockets target them. Loved the determined and honest characters and the storyline was well paced, while the steamy moments kept coming. Well written with a great ending.
