Blinded By Hate
Maybe we just found forever at the wrong time and someday time will pull us back together again.
Hayden Night corrupted my thoughts. Even after four years of going to therapy and trying to rid myself of him he is still in the back of my mind.
He is one of the best boxers in the country, possibly in the world. He always had a talent for fighting, he craved it and fed off of it. He used fighting as a coping mechanism to block out the demons in his head.
But I still found myself going to his wedding, watching him smile at the girl he loved and watching him laugh and pretend that what we had in the past didn’t matter, but in reality it meant everything.
We were bound to meet again but will this also end in chaos?

I had no intention of reading this and nor did I know it was part of a series. I came on this 2nd book quite by accident and never intended to read it because this is not my cuppa tea but I was curious about the blurb and the line of "But I still found myself going to his wedding, watching him smile at the girl he loved and watching him laugh and pretend that what we had in the past didn’t matter, but in reality it meant everything".
First of, that whole line is misleading and I can't believe author put out such a lie in the first place. Yes, Hero is engaged to OW but there is no wedding, he NEVER smiled at the OW, certainly never loved her at all (he dislikes & loathes OW so much that he lets heroine know this from the start even though she doesn't know why until more than half in), nor does he ever laugh and pretend that the past didn't matter. Quite the opposite in fact. He is all in with heroine from start to finish and both tells her and shows her that he never stopped loving her and that she is his only one.
Big issue here is that Hero said he never stopped loving or waiting for heroine yet had she not come back to the picture, he would have gone through with the wedding and for author to have had him constantly saying that "it's either you or no one else for me", what would have happened after he married her? Would the marriage have been consummated? Would he have had to stay married to her and have kids? Why didn't he look for a way out BEFORE heroine showed up? Why tell heroine she is his one & only yet he agreed to marry the OW for business reasons? Again, make it make sense author!
So aside that, this is a 2nd chance Mafia trope which I wasn't aware of because that is not something I lean to. MCs met in HS but started dating in College. There are snippets of their past history in almost every chapter which is in book 1 of "Blinded by Love". That one I will never read because Hero is with many OW and he is mean to heroine. Anyway, Hero is a MMA fighter and 5 years prior they were in love but 2 of his enemies kidnapped and raped her. We get scenes of the rapes and other things done to her that leaves her traumatized but we never learn here how she was rescued and by who. At least I don't think we do as I skimmed a lot those very repetitive scenes that author kept inserting over & over to fil up page counts. She says in one chapter that Hero saved her but no reference how or when.
Anyway, after the rape, she is in a bad place that she leaves Hero because sometimes she says that she blamed him for what happened to her as they were his enemies that did that to her and the life he chose, and in other pages she says she never blamed him and it wasn't his fault. So she stays away for 5 years, has his son which at first she doesn't know if it's his but once he is born and she sees he looks like Hero, is sure but never tells Hero. Instead, she goes to therapy, becomes a sports reporter or some type of reporter and has one close friend (Brendon) who lives next door to her and is also a colleague.
She has sex one night while she was drunk with said OM that she regrets and never anyone else. She & Brendon become BFFs and he helps out with her kid who in essence becomes a Dad to the kid as he does everything for them. I felt bad for this OM because both of them used him & treated him badly and he was an all around good guy.
In the present, she learns from her Editor/Boss that she has to go and interview Hero who is engaged to be married in a few weeks. As soon as he sees her, he has hearts in his eyes and is all about reuniting with her and making out with her - with her constantly pushing and reminding him that he is engaged.
Eventually she learns that the Hero joined a Mafia gang and that his Boss wanted him to marry OW because he needed the partnership that it would bring with her Father. Hero never touched the OW and even hates her. He never showed her any affection and even flirts and touches heroine in front of her. OW also didn't seem to care about him either but she was the one to invite heroine to their engagement/wedding in Italy to which heroine went because she was pressured by H's sister.
Anyway, to make the long story short, he drops the OW and is made 2nd in command from the Mafia dude, then learns what heroine went through 5 yrs prior and also that he has a kid to which he learned accidently and not by her and he had a right to be angry.
Once all the secrets are out, they get their happily ever after with Hero now all in the Mafia and a killer. Heroine was concerned for a nanno-second when she learned he was a Mafia killer afraid for herself and her son, yet forgotten for the rest of the story.
We also have Hero stating that after they had broken up 5 years prior, he got drunk and had sex with OW and no one else after that for those that care. So neither MC was celibate and both only had one lover in a drunk rage.
Additionally, this one is full of heroine having self hate. In addition to the trauma and what she went through that makes her feel dirty & ashamed, she had in the past & present self hate with her weight and used drugs both past & present to lose it and we constantly (especially in the end) hear how she doesn't like her body & looks. Self confidence not here for this heroine which was anoying.
Also annoying? For any Mafia type story, heroine has to be strong to survive that life and be a partner to Hero. Not this one. She lacked confidence, strength and a basic ability to be a good & honest partner. She constantly whined, ran away, lied or ignored things like telling Hero he was a Father for no good reason at that point, or to tell him that his son had a serious medical issue, or about the pills she was taking and how it was harming her or even about the OM Brandon and the role he played in their lives.
And the ending is even worse because other than them getting married and having more kids, she is still the same - whiny & lacking self confidence.

Only on chapter 4 and all we hear about is how the hero is a manwhore. The heroine is waitressing at the diner when they come in and after she takes their orders she hears the hero talking about his last hookup.
“Dude why Meredith though? You know she is crazy as fuck.” I heard Nathan say.
The hero replies:
“She has a nice body. I didn’t know she wanted a relationship. But what can you expect from girls right.”
I scrolled on to a few chapter later and what do I see? Oh! Another disgusting hero alert!
Hayden nods his head. "Yeah. You know what I think. I think you have some issues going on at home and you just decided to move, getaway, start a new life. I think you need a proper fuck to get that mouth in check too. But I'm going to tell you the truth you're not even worth more than a couple."
"A couple what?" I challenged
"Fucks." Hayden stated.
Skip to ten chapters later. They kiss he calls it a mistake and shows up the next day at dinner with a new girl in his arms.
He also mentions he uses sex as a shield and has had a lot of it. We also learn the girl he walks into dinner with, he tries to hook up with her but he couldn’t.
The fact he even is with another woman after he has already kissed the heroine is enough for me to say no.

I cried so much , I'm so happy they got their happy ending honestly. Hayden and Jacklyn are so close to me cause i see myself in Jacklyn and this was exactly what we needed. There was so much surprises and the writing was beautiful i felt everything..... Being in love is so scary and this book showed that , i was angry with Hayden at first but then everything was explained and i fell more in love with him. Honestly they needed the time apart to grow, he became a better man and well she learnt that she was strong.. nah she needed him, but Hayden grew more mature and honestly that's amazing

This was such a sweet ending for a couple that's been through so much!
I loved that Hayden and Jaclyn never stopped loving each other even with the 5 years they were apart.
Hayden was so understanding and supportive of Jaclyn. He did get rightfully angry at times, but in the end he was always there for support her.
Jaclyn has been through hell and back! I'm so happy she took the time to heal and grow herself as a person. It seemed unfair that she kept blaming Hayden for what happened to her, but I understand it as well.
I appreciate that the author put an enthusias on mental health and how therapy & having the right people in your life can definitely help.

Such an amazing book. Blinded by Hate is the second book of the “Blinded by” duet/series. I loved the first book and now in this one we get to see Jaclyn and Hayden’s relationship grown again. They deserve their cute ending, they were literally made for each other. I’ve been of fan of this author ever since her writing on Wattpad. I was so excited to read this duet as published books. They most definitely didn’t disappoint.

Blinded By Hate is the second book in the 'Blinded by' Series. I had read this book when it was on Wattpad and it became one of my favorite comfort reads. When I found out this book was to be published, I was on cloud nine.
Hayden and Jacklyn's chemistry was off the charts in this book. From the aftermath of their breakup, their reconnection, to romance was truly a long ride. As this book explores trauma of all kinds, the representation of that was handled in a raw, yet beautiful way.

I finished the story of my favorite characters of all time, I've always been very cheesy when it comes to saying bye, but saying goodbye to these two hurts. blinded by love, it was the first book I read in English and I loved it, it stayed in my heart.
Hayden and Jaclyn, I know you don't exist but your mother (Jaclin Marie) did a great job raising you.
Please read this book because it is wonderful!! I'm still crying
One day I hope this books series will be real and be one of the most watched films/series in the first 15 days or more!

I really enjoyed this book. The development in Hayden’s and Jaclyn’s releashionship felt very real and roa. I give I’t 3,5🌟 just because we didn’t get to see the wedding and we don’t see Hayden’s parents and I was waiting to see that.

This book had me on the edge of my seat for every chapter. I love the growth between Hayden and Jaclyn because I definitely wanted them to get back together. I'm so glad she told Hayden about her past and what happened to her and he stuck by her through thick and thin, and it made my heart melt.

Hayden and Jaclyn felt like going back home. They are just so perfect together. Even though I wanted Jaclyn to just open up her heart out the moment she saw Hayden. Moving forward I realised how much opening up really meant to her. After the Cliffhanger ending in Book 1, I was very patiently waiting to read this book. To say it lived up to my expectations is an understatement. They're just perfect in my eyes. Junior is the cutest frickin' baby. I'm glad Jaclyn and Hayden never gave up on eachother. I'm so proud of Jaclyn for never giving up and going on with her even though it was the last thing she wanted. Hayden giving her space and time, then acting clingy and all protective the moment he sees her is just so butterflies in the tummy situation. That's the kind of love I want to read about. I'm really glad Jaclin wrote it and I got to read it. You should too so

Real, raw, emotional and beautiful this book was like something I am unable to get out of my system, Jaclin has done it again and created a story that will tear at your heart strings and your tear ducts!

Blinded by Hate is a book that doesn't shy away from the dark realities of love and isn't for the faint of heart. It touches on sensitive subjects, including SA, and deals with Jaclyn's personal struggle with diabetes as well as other hard topics. It being the second installment to the duo follows the journey of Jaclyn and Hayden, which many of you probably already know.
Hayden's ties to the mafia makes everything more complicated, as Jaclyn and Hayden's paths are destined to cross again, but whether this meeting will bring healing or destruction remains a constant question, and is a big part of the book

The first book in this duet was one of my favorite reads of the year so i expected nothing less from the second one. It is like with each book i read from this duet Jaclyn got more and more relatable. I don’t think i have ever related to a book character more than i have with Jaclyn. I loved seeing Hayden and Jaclyn’s relationship grow and seeing them grow more, as people outside of just there relationship. The one of the many things i loved in this book is the awareness that the author helped bring to light, i loved how she made me feel seen, it was almost like she read my mind. I fell in love with Jaclyn and Hayden’s relationship and i am sad to see there story end but i loved how it ended. Again thank you again to Jaclin for allowing me to get an arc for this book

This book was a rollercoaster for me of emotions because there are times i’m like i agree and then disagree with things that happened. And then times where Jaclin is very relatable. I love the king that Hayden Night is and how much he always loved her. I wish it didn’t take five years and that he had met Junior sooner but they got their happy ending and i’m glad how it ended and that she decided they didn’t need anymore ups and downs after the roller coaster she already put me through for two books now lmao. I love you Jaclin Marie and thank you for an amazing two book series, I love this series and it will stay with me in my memories.

Oh Jaclin, you know how to get me out of a reading slump.
Words cannot describe how in LOVE I am with this authors work! It’s so descriptive and wonderful and absolutely beautiful. I hope we get more about other characters soon :) However, there were a LOT of spelling and grammatical errors. Such as “o!” and punctuation where it was and wasn’t needed- slightly distraction but unbelievable all around. Sure it might come off Wattpad, but there are so many hidden gems on that sight and this author as a whole is one. Phenomenal art on the cover but the editing needs another look over if possible.

Legit the book had me giggling and kicking my feet in the air for the last half of it. Although i didn't really like the first book compared to the second (this one) it was still so cute and the ending was just so chefs kiss!!!! And i just loved how they couldn't get enough of each other all throughout the book it was just so UGHHH but in a good way !

wanted to like this but took me two days to get through the first 24 pages.
feels like a child wrote this, why are you telling me everything that’s ever happened almost in list form.
“She cried with me after I told her the details. She made me move back in with her for a good two years and then I moved out to New York when I got offered a journalist position. She always flies out to New York to visit and check up on me. She also calls every day to make sure I’m doing good and remaining healthy. She also loves talking to Junior as well.”
There’s just no way the entire book is like this and has over a 4 ⭐️ rating. What am I missing?

Of course they just happen to meet again after all those years and still have feelings for eachother. I appreciate a cute story with a few cliches but this was just plain stupid.
