Love at First Flight #1

The Best Bad Decision

Rate this book
A steamy, sexy, pilot and flight attendant, surprise baby romance!

Some layovers are for hiding out in hotel rooms. Some are for adventure. A New Year’s Eve layover in Singapore? For airline captain Camden Whitehouse, that was for meeting Amie, the gorgeous flight attendant from London who he hasn’t been able to get out of his head for almost four years. He still can’t rinse the taste of her skin from his memory. But she snuck out in the middle of the night, and Cam woke up to face the new year alone.

Three years and nine months ago, Amie Caine’s life was turned upside down—by a pilot, of all people. After a few too many Singapore Slings and the most incredible sex of her life with the hottest man she’s ever met, she snuck out of his hotel room without a trace. He left a trace, though, and now that trace is three years old and she looks just like him.

Nearly four years after a night of passion in Singapore, Cam and Amie reunite unexpectedly. They’ve thought of each other every day—but between the fears, secrets, and lies, and the thousands of miles between them, can they go the distance?

This is book one in the Love At First Flight series. It contains explicit language and scenes with sexually explicit descriptions; it is not intended for younger readers.

The Best Bad Decision by S. Sidney
4/5⭐
2/5🌶️

This was a delightful and heartwarming read! The challenges that Amie and Cam faced felt really relatable, and there were definitely some moments that tugged at my heartstrings. Their story begins when Amie meets Cam during a layover in Singapore on New Year's Eve, and they share an unforgettable night together without exchanging much except for their names and jobs. The next morning, Amie quietly slips away, and they don’t cross paths again until four years later when fate steps in!

I loved Cam's reaction when Amie revealed that he has a daughter. His initial shock was priceless, but the moment he saw pictures of his little girl, Maisy, he was completely smitten. The first time they finally met was so touching and heartwarming! It’s so sweet that he makes it a point to read her a bedtime story every night, even miles apart.

Watching Amie and Cam’s relationship evolve was a joy! They both feel there’s something deeper than just friendship and co-parenting. There’s still some attraction, but they are hesitant to take that next step. With his busy schedule as a pilot and her as a flight attendant, navigating their long-distance relationship is no easy feat. You can feel the longing and how the distance impacts not just them but their daughter too. I loved seeing how, over time, they started to open up about their feelings and make sacrifices to make their relationship work.

All in all, this was such a sweet and uplifting story filled with real, relatable struggles. The supportive family and friends, the chemistry between the characters, and the deep connections made it special!

༘⋆✿ Accidental pregnancy, secret child, love at fight sight... A wholesome, low on angst romance that you need in your life! ༘⋆✿

I saw this book in my feed a bit ago and by then it hadn't come out yet, so I put it on my wishlist and waited. The book just released and, between books, I decided to pick it up and see if it was everything I wanted and needed in my life. I love the accidental pregnancy trope, you all know this. I'm a bit nervous when it comes to the secret child trope, but I wanted to try and read it either way.

The Best Bad Decision is a slow-burn accidental pregnancy romance between a pilot and a flight attendant who meet in Singapore during New Year's. They have a one-night stand and the heroine, Amie, left the next morning, before Cam woke up. You then are skipped to four years later and you find out that Amie has had a kid after that one-night stand and Cam doesn't know. They never exchanged last names or even a phone number, so it was impossible for her to contact him.

I loved that the accidental pregnancy/secret child reveal was very early in the story! She tells Cam right away after bumping into him again (in the first few chapters) and they start co-parenting soon after. The big problem in the story, the main conflict I mean, is that both of them travel a lot because of their jobs and also because they don't really live in the same country. Amie lives in the UK while Cam lives in the US. So, they don't see each other for the better part of the novel. You'll see them do FaceTime or text more than meeting in real life.

I think I would have loved getting more meetings between them in real life. I think it was missing that type of intimacy and getting to know each other also physically, you know what I mean? Not meaning sex, but more of like spending a lot of time together in real life I feel like it's different than talking to someone through a phone, I don't know. I wanted more of that and needed to see how life was if they decided to start a relationship, especially because they have a child together. But overall, I didn't mind it a lot and I still enjoyed the book!

Cam was so down bad for Amie and you don't question that EVER. I always love a hero who is obsessed, pathetically in love with the heroine. For me, that's already a 5/5. Another conflict is that they are idiots in love, because neither of them think the other likes them back so THEY DON'T SAY ANYTHING. They think they are just co-parenting and friends at most, but it's obvious they're both feeling so much more and they're scared to say anything about it. This is a SLOW BURN, yall. It takes a while for them to kiss again and more to even say "I love you". This story is more like them finding the way to be together when jobs and lives don't make it easier.

The Cam/Maisy scenes are adorable. He loves her with his whole heart since the day he found out about her. Oh, that's his girl!!! 🧸🎀 The love he has for Maisy but also for Amie is so present in the novel, it's present in his eyes, in his words. I'm so happy they found their way back to each other and that they have their little family now.

This was such a sweet read 🥹 I think I might be a fan of the accidental pregnancy trope now???

I loved Cam and Amie together and I loved each of their relationships with Maisy. The setting with them both working on a plane was fun, especially with them both living on different continents.

I loved that Cam was all in with no hesitation and it was so clear how much he adored Maisy. It was refreshing to read about this situation with the man having a positive reaction, he was such a green flag 🥹

Also - I loved Amie’s friendship group so much, I hope we get to see them in the next books in this series???

Thank you so much to LoveNotes PR and S Sidney for the advanced reader copy!

This was so cute! Loved the storyline, such a fun read.

Only reason it didn’t get a five star is because it got a bit boring at some points, but it did get a lot better!

Thankyou to the author and love notes pr for sending me an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

ARC REVIEW!!

By now if you know me you know that I’m a sucker for single parent/ secret baby! I don’t think I’ve read a secret baby romance like this one, it was very refreshing to read this genre and not have the father jump to are you sure/ skeptical about it or being insecure that she just wants to trap him and don’t get me wrong those books always turn out great but it was so refreshing to see the MMC not doubtful at all, like he was immediately like “can I see a picture?” “Can you send that to me?” “She looks just like me” and from that first picture he was absolutely enamored with her, not only had he been thinking of Amie since that night together but finding out that he has this amazing daughter with her, he was all in. He did everything to make sure he was present in her life the moment he learned about her.
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Guys this was the first book I didn’t highlight anything in cause I was so immersed into the story I didn’t think until it was over to highlight anything🥹
But I did highlight one thing before I was lost to the book 🤣

“F*ck,” he whispers on a harsh exhale. “A daughter? F*ck. I have a daughter.” ( it was so precious you could practically hear the wheels turning in Cams brain. 🥹

I was thrilled to read this ARC!
The Best Bad Decision is an emotional romance about Cam, a confident pilot, and Amie, a flight attendant, whose one-night stand in Singapore leads to a surprise daughter, Maisy.
Three years later, their reunion is tender yet vulnerable—both fear getting hurt, but their care shines through. The dual POV pulled me in, and Cam’s humor (“trouser-brain”!) had me blushing and laughing. Maisy’s bond with her dad melted my heart, alongside relatable mom guilt and parenting tips. The occasional pizza-eating and tea-making even had me snacking and sipping along.
The pacing drags at times with longer passages, and the spicier moments felt a bit bold for my taste, but it’s a solid 4-star read. Great for fans of second-chance romance with heart and a touch of heat!

If there was anyway I could give this workplace romance with an accidental pregnancy novel more than 5 stars, I would. Cam and Amie had an instant attraction and fascination with each other that led to one steamy night. I yearned, as they did, for them to reconnect and I was so happy when they did even it took some time for them both to admit they wanted each other again. Their daughter being adorable and them having very supportive friends and parents made this even more of a delight to read. Thank you to author S. Sidney and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read this arc early for my honest review.

This book was nice, but repetitive one. I loved the storyline of a surprised baby, but I felt like the characters didn’t really have any development. Halfway through the story I felt as if I was rereading the same parts over and over. I did enjoy seeing Cam meet little Maisy and begin to love her and take care of her effortlessly. I give this book 4 stars because it was a nice feeling one. I was relieved to see Cam’s family immediately take Aime and Maisy in and love them.

I received the story as an advanced reader copy for free and I’m leaving my honest review

ARC Review✈️

✨S. Sidney really said, let’s take a one-night stand, add some mutual pining, and then throw in a secret baby for maximum emotional damage. This story tugs at my heartstrings. And honestly? I ate it up.😂

Amie, our flight attendant heroine, and Cam, our too-handsome-for-his-own-good pilot, have one unforgettable New Year’s Eve layover in Singapore.✈️ Fast forward almost four years, and surprise! Cam finds out he’s a dad to a ridiculously adorable three-year-old.🦕Cue the awkward co-parenting, simmering tension, and will-they-won’t-they moments that had me flipping pages like my life depended on it.🤭

💕Cam is the definition of golden retriever learning how to be a dad, and Amie? A strong, independent single mom who isn’t about to make things easy for him (and rightfully so). Their chemistry is chef’s kiss,🤌🏽 and the way they slowly find their way back to each other is both heartwarming and slightly painful in the best way.🥹

🥰What makes this book shine is the soft, tender moments—the bedtime stories, the small gestures, the realization that home isn’t just a place, but the people you love.❤️‍🩹 I loved the friendship and the family bonds between the MCs and the side characters. They are such a good part of the book adding emotional depth and funny moments.💙

⭐️If you love second-chance romance, adorable single-parent dynamics, and a hero who will do anything to prove he’s all in, The Best Bad Decision is a must-read. It’s the kind of love story that feels like a warm hug.🙌🏽

Thank you to the Author S.Sidney and LoveNotesPR for the opportunity to read this ARC!💕

First of all, I just want to thank S.Sidney for providing me with an ARC.
TBBD is S. Sidneys debut novel and I was first introduced to her in a HEA Bookshop group chat, so when she announced that there was a sign up form for ARCs, I had to shoot my shot.

I will preface this by saying if you don't like "suprise baby" or any form of pregnancy or parent trope, then this isn't for you because the surprise baby is integral to this story.

TBBD starts off steamy rather than spicy, setting the scene of Amie and Cams first meeting on NYE in 2022 and leaving Amie leaving Cam with nothing other than the memory of her

After the prologue, the novel jumps forward to September 2026, our main characters haven't seen each other since NYE (but neither is far from the others mind 😏) a chance meeting in a hotel lift has Amie and Cam reuniting while both on a layover.

After informing Cam about the existence of Maisy, let's be honest even though we know it's a romance novel and there will be a HEA, there was still part of me that was worried about how he would take the news.
However, I feel that S. Sidney portrayed a realistic reaction, had Cams character been younger; then I do think he may have had a much different reaction. Cam is written as someone who takes life seriously and gives everything 100%.

Amie is definitely strong-willed, doesn't *need* a man, she knows her own mind, and what is important to her.

The romance was definitely a slow burn, there was so much tension between Amie and Cam but there was that not so wonderful miscommunication trope holding them back, however the driving force of that was that as long as Maisy had both her parents in some capacity they would co-parent.

S. Sidney wrote a wonderful story of found family and second chances.
Amie had a village helping her raise Maisy, offering unconditional love and support, providing a lot of comedy such as this fantastic line from Katy. "Miscommunication is the worst relationship trope. It’s always just some bullshit that could’ve been fixed by people just talking to each other.”

Now... when the spice hits, it HITS! I genuinely went from swooning over Cam to being an incoherent mess with some of his thoughts and comments (I get the impression that he could have a bit of a breeding kink 😏)

I found myself laughing, swooning, getting a bit hot under the collar, getting emotional and almost crying, broody over a fictional toddler - when you meet Maisy, you will understand. She is such a cutie.

"Have big dreams, sweetheart."

I am looking forward to S. Sidneys other novels in this series. If this debut is anything to go by, then I have high hopes.

"Camden fucking Whitehouse. He stole my soul that night in Singapore. He took my breath in Santiago, and he’s been stealing pieces of my heart every day ever since."

The Best Bad Decision, in my opinion, needs to be on every single person’s TBR list. I was hooked with the first page. Amie and Cam were the best main characters. The story was fantastic, the plot was chefs kiss, the ending left my heart exploding into little heart confetti pieces flying everywhere.
The attraction literally screamed off the page between Amie and Camden from their first night meeting in Singapore and even 3 years later running into each other out of pure coincidence. Neither one of them had forgotten about the other. The feelings were still there even though both left that night only knowing the each other’s first name and that was it. That one night clung to both of their memories like it was tattooed on them. My heart was in my throat majority of this book between the emotional rollercoaster Amie and Cam were having with just each other along with seeing this bond grow between Cam and Maisy, the daughter they resulted in that one night stand 3 years ago, that Cam just found out about after Amie and Cam running into each other. Honestly this was the good feeling book that I needed. It warmed my heart, despite the loads of crying and emotions I dealt with while reading this book, and also…the spice scenes🌶️🌶️🌶️ they weren’t too bad themselves and made me want to go find my own personal pilot.

That ending really annoyed me lowkey??? Instead of that scene literally like 3 weeks later maybe we could’ve gotten a glimpse into Cam moving to London or atleast Boston?! Like this whole book they were doing “long distance” and just for the book to end with them still doing long distance???

Anyway it was a really quick and easy read so honestly I didn’t have such high expectations and as someone in aviation I really did enjoy some of the aviation terminology. Amie was alright as fmc, her denying herself of Cams love for so long was a bit like🙄 but she’s traumatised so I get it. Can was also alright I guess, I don’t have much to say about their relationship like they were kinda boring tbh.

Anyway I need more books like this, of the characters being in the aviation industry because working in this industry and dating within it as well is so hard and I definitely think more representation is needed so the girlies can kinda get a glimpse into what they are getting themselves into dating pilots and flight attendants lol. I personally wouldn’t have it any other way though😉

This is one flight you don’t want to miss. Much like flying, the emotions in this book reach new heights and will bring you to new destinations you never imagined. A wild night in Singapore let more than just memories. Our dashing pilot is in for a surprise 3 years later when he comes face to face with his missing baggage. He lost his heart that night and when he gets it back it’s grown three sizes, just enough for ‘his girls’ to take root. I loved the relationships in this book, from family of blood to found family, it is chock full of love & support from all sides. Little Maisy will steal your heart as quickly as she steals her dad’s. The romance between Amie & Cam is absolutely real, full of turmoil, doubt and wonder. In the end all you need is love & trust and everything will fall into place.

This was a cute little read, low stakes and lots of spice. I do wish we got more time to connect with the characters before lives (the time they were apart after Maisy's birth) to really connect to them better.
I really liked the lifestyle and experiences of being a pilot and a stewardess as well as the dynamic between the two. I do wish there was a little more push back about the situation from outside sources, just bc I found it a little unbelievable that everyone was so supportive, however, I do also wish I had friends like Amies (we live to far away to show up at 11pm at the drop of a hat).

Again cute, fun read.

Amie - Is a flight attendant, who loves her job. All it took was for one flight to have the best and unforgettable night of her life with a pilot.
One which would stay with her forever.

Cam - Is a confident pilot who loves his job, he meets a flight attendant, one who he thinks of all the time.

This is a dual POV between these two characters, it is a one-night stand that turns into an incredible love story!

It has a lot of emotion in and you can feel the connection between these two characters.
It's got the cute second chance vibes we all love!

It is a beautifully written love story between a flight pilot and a flight attendant. One that involves a one night stand and a surprise along the way where a one night stand leads to an accidental pregnancy! The story between Cam and his daughter is swoon worthy! This is the first accidental pregnancy novel I have read.

This is the first novel of this authors I have read and I can say it will not be the last!
It hooked me from the start, I couldn't put it down! I need more!

Arc Review!!

You could not convince me that there was anything wrong with this read. From beginning to end i was on the edge of my seat. I went through emotional damage reading this BUT everything always works out in the end.

Amie and Cam meet, have a one night stand that changes everything for both of them. Amie is the definition of grown up and mature. She didn't hide anything and she was welcoming and understanding.

I loved that they both were it for each other. They knew from that first night that they were going to be each others happy ending.

In comes Maisie Mouse, who I JUST LOVE! She is sassy, smart and probably the cutest little girl. She was so happy that she finally got to meet her dad and the way that she just takes charge and forces him into her world without any warning and him taking charge and just at first sight falling in love with her warms my heart. (I wish mine was like that)

I was in awe of their relationship from the beginning and when they finally found each other again, I was praying that they got it together and just pounded each other (iykyk) her friends knew what was up lol! Speaking of those friends, they were such a great support system for her and I loved that. With her job, she's always away and it's great that she has people who can help her out.

This was a first S. Sidney read for me and i was not disappointed. It was first person pov/dual pov and I need more. I'm not demanding but I am lol. I can't wait for the next installment. Jay seems like he's going to be a whirlwind and Katy hopefully won't hold herself back!

the accidental pregnancy trope is one of my favorites, and this did not disappoint! wow! what a heartwarming and incredible read!

cam and amie fell into such an effortless rhythm, navigating their unexpected situation with a dynamic that felt natural and domestic, despite being over thousands of miles apart. their relationship with maisy was especially touching🥹

and as someone who’s family revolves around aviation, i truly enjoyed the setting. it felt very warm, nostalgic, and authentic!

This book has completely changed my mind about the accidental pregnancy trope! I am all for a second chance, age gap (8 years) romance - so this was right up my alley. I adored Amie & Cam’s story in The Best Bad Decision! This is such a heartwarming read - one of the sweetest that I have read in a long time! Maisy is just the cutest little girl. The bond she forms with Cam made me smile so hard, and even cry over how precious it was. The little family the three of them form was so dang adorable.

Amie and Cam meet on a layover in Singapore, where Cam is a pilot and Amie is a flight attendant. After one incredible night together, they part ways without exchanging names or phone numbers. Nearly four years later they run into each other again in Santiago. This is the pivotal moment when Amie tells Cam that he has a daughter - after this moment everything changes for these two.

Cam is obsessed with Amie and hasn’t recovered from their night together fours years ago. She has never left his mind and has been a constant thought as to “what if”. When he is given a second chance with Amie he is unwillingly to pass it by and with that has the opportunity to step in to be the father of the daughter they share together. Cam only has eyes for Amie and as much as she tries to distance herself for their daughter’s sake, she can’t fight the strong attraction she still has to Cam. There is so much resistance from Amie, however the whole time Cam is all in. The way he supports, bonds with, and fits so perfectly into Amie & Maisy’s life was incredible - totally meant to me.

The tension and longing between these two is perfection! The push and pull you feel is magnetic; their chemistry is undeniable and the spicy scenes live rent free in my mind (iykyk - one word, FaceTime). Cam has it BAD for Amie and even though it takes to her a minute to accept it, Amie feels just as strongly as he does. The patience that man shows is impressive, even when she is pushing him away - he never goes too far and is always there for her and Maisy. He is truly committed to them both, he can’t imagine life without them. The love they have for one another is so strong, and is only solidified because of Maisy not in spite of her.

This book really got me all in my feels! I loved the bond between Amie and all of her girlfriends. They all really stepped in to help her care for Maisy. The tribe she had helping her was so inspiring! And don’t get me started on the connection formed between Cam and Maisy, it was so natural and effortless. The love Cam had for Maisy instantaneously was overwhelming precious.

This book has a bit of everything - it is a perfect blend of both sweet and spicy moments! Thank you so much to S. Sidney and Love Notes PR for the early copy! It is a must read, for sure! ❤️

This book was great!

I think I felt like it moved just a liiiiiittle bit slow for me, up until when Cam and Amie first got reacquainted, but this book was really awesome. I really loved that there wasn’t a lot of back and forth struggle between them and their feelings. Yes there were the internal thoughts of “do they not feel the same way” but there was only really one “dispute” which was resolved quickly. This was very realistic, how they allowed their feelings for each other to develop over time and how they stayed true to their goal of giving Maisy two parents who put her first and not letting their personal issues or feelings get in the way of that.

Cam was honestly such a wonderful MMC. He reacted so well when learning about Maisy, and he kept his word about being all in. I was really happy to see an FMC like Amie, who didn’t try to give Cam a hard time about wanting to be in his daughter’s life. Yes, it sucked that Amie slipped out their first night, but they couldn’t do anything about except move on. There was definitely a lot of “I wish” and “If only” from Cam and Amie, but for the most part, they moved past it to focus on “what now” and moving forward.

These were two VERY mature MCs, I have to point that out and praise it. I get annoyed easily with too much whining or weird behavior or anything like that, and I was happy to not have that for this book. Just a grown man and a grown woman who focused on work, on their baby girl, and figuring out how to make life work for them. I’m glad that Amie didn’t resist too much when their feelings started coming to light.

Also, can I just say THANK YOU for an accurate depiction of behaviors and speech patterns for a 3 year old?! Because when I read about 3yr olds having whole paragraphs and comments to make about their parents’ relationships and actions, when authors use the kid’s comments as comic relief or to drive the plot, it irritates me. They don’t notice that much stuff at that age, and there’s no way they would be having strong opinions about what the parents do enough for the reader to think that the parents are being influenced by what they think the child’s perception of the situation is. Thank you for letting Maisy be a toddler thru and thru. She was absolutely perfect. Such a little sweetie, loved and cared for and respected. I loved the mentions of crying and tantrums and difficulties with adjusting to life with/without Cam after she met him.

This was all around a wonderful book, and I loved the comic relief of Paloma, Ruth and Katy 🤣

Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Tropes:
✈️ Pilot x Flight Attendant
✈️ Age Gap (8 years)
✈️ One-Night Stand
✈️ Surprise/Secret Baby
✈️ Friends to Lovers
✈️ Slow Burn
✈️ Mutual Pining
✈️ Mental Health Rep.
✈️ Found Family

This is a slow burn. It’s a really sweet surprise/secret baby romance. The story focuses not only on Cam and Amie’s relationship but also on Cam’s relationship with his daughter Maisy.

Amie and Cam both love their jobs and their passion is seen in their daughter who adores planes. Amie is a strong, independent woman willing to do anything for her daughter's happiness. Although she may have trouble communicating her fears, she isn't scared to set boundaries and adhere to them. Cam is a sweetheart. He’s respectful and mindful of boundaries, and he has the funniest thoughts. He’s head-over-heels for Maisy and Amie.

Katy and Gray are top-tier friends. I loved the advice and support they gave Amie and Cam. I loved Amie's group chat. Her friends were really supportive, helping her stay in the present and not get lost in her thoughts. Gray helped Cam sort through his fears of the unknown and gave him the courage to embrace his feelings. I loved how Katy was as a friend to Amie and a godmother to Maisy. I'm really excited to read her story.

I only had two issues with this story. The first is that the characters lacked depth. You read a lot about what they do and how they feel, but you don't learn a whole lot about them. The second was the flow of the story. After you get 1/4 into the book, the story becomes a bit repetitive. The characters do the same thing but with slight variation, and you don't learn anything different about how they feel or what their plans are moving forward.

If you're looking for a second-chance romance (a one-night stand that got away) with an adorable little girl, light angst, successful co-parenting, and a happily ever after with a hero willing to put in the effort to prove himself, give this a read.

A few of my favorite quotes:
For fuck’s sake. My body knew it was him before my brain did— the traitorous bitch that she is.

I want her in my life as Amie— mother, daughter, friend. Mine. She’s everything I ever could’ve imagined loving.

“Like you don’t sit and watch runway live streams on YouTube.” “Hey!” He protests. “It’s research.” “It’s nerd.”

For four years, I’ve loved her silently, anonymously. But today, and forever, I get to love her out loud.

Thank you S. Sidney and Love Notes PR for sending me an eARC. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I received ARC of this book for review, I was interested because of the tropes, but unfortunately for the most part it was 3⭐️ but upon finishing the book I had to settle on 2⭐️ to be fair to my other ratings.

There was just nothing really happening here. It started with ONS and they she just left (for what reason exactly).
Both of them go pining for years about each other with no prospect of ever meeting again, as she left and they didn’t exchange numbers or full names. They meet, he finds out they have a child and it kinda becomes instant successful co-parenting and “we can’t be together” for majority of the book to they deciding they can? When was the reasoning for ANY of their actions.

I didn’t feel the connection between the characters at all. It was just so boring, and not much was making sense here.
I was anticipating the crash scene, cause I thought at least then something will be happening in this book. The TW/author’s note made pretty big deal about the plane crash but then it was really nothing that relevant to the plot?…

The scene when they told Mae about Cam being her dad was so short and without any… anything BIG that you could almost missed it.
How Cam acted after the plane crash also made me go “WTF”. Like, dude, your baby mama (that you have feelings for!) is scared to death and instead of calling her INSTANTLY you do it like half an hour after you checked your phone? Yyyyyy

It also made ZERO sense that he became celibate and was pining over her for years with ZERO prospects of EVER meeting her again. Was his plan to not sleep with anyone ever again? It made zero sense. Don’t get me started on him being 40 and just being a pilot and that’s all, there was not anything else to his character. Him pining after her (same for her too) made zero sense to me cause I didn’t feel the connection between them AT ALL.

I don’t write this review straight after I finished reading cause I didn’t want to rant about this book but turns out I still kinda did that.

Wrapping up this long review, this story was just boring and not making much sense. Too many blah scenes or not relevant much to the plot, and the scenes that had potential were not delivered properly.

The spice and group chat with her friends were the only remotely entertaining parts of this book.

I thought that The Best Bad Decision was a solid debut novel from S. Sidney. I found Cam and Amie to be relatable characters and their overall story heartwarming.

The prologue is told in third person, when Cam and Amie have a one-night stand during a layover in Singapore. She's a flight attendant, and he is a pilot (for different airlines), and they both find themselves in the city on New Year's Eve. They spend a wild night together, never exchanging last names or many details about themselves, and Amie sneaks out of his hotel room before dawn. The rest of the book picks up four years later: Cam hasn't been able to get his mystery woman out of his mind, and Amie is now a single mom to a precocious three-year-old little girl, Maisie. It has been four years, but fate intervenes and puts Cam and Amie together when they run into each other at the same hotel during a layover in Santiago, Chile. Cam can't believe his good luck that he's found his NYE woman again, and Amie realizes that the time is now to tell Cam what she couldn't previously because she had no idea how to get in touch with him.

After the initial shock that he has a toddler daughter wears off, Cam jumps into Daddy Mode. Sidney did a great job in writing this family, not just the relationship that Cam built with his daughter, but the mutual pining between Cam and Amie over their long-distance friendship. It's so clear they both have deep feelings for each other, but when she lives in London and he's in Phoenix, how can they make that work? Which one of them will have to uproot their life for them to give it a go? I really liked the way the author handled that obstacle. The progression of Cam and Amie's relationship from friendship to everything else felt natural and I loved seeing how they found common ground in their parenting and romance.

I look forward to more from S. Sidney with Amie's friends! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

The Best Bad Decision by S. Sidney
eARC Review: 4.5/5 Stars

Where do I even start with this review…. Cause this book was very captivating and it had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end. But not just that it was also very emotional to read this couple's journey, which I found added to the atmosphere.

Amie and Cam meet… in a very interesting way cause it was during a one night stand, and boy did this change everything for them both. And when I mean everything, I mean this in the absolute best way because in that moment for the one night to now, they knew they were meant to be together forever in a happy ending.
Can I just give a huge shout out to darling Maisie Mouse cause holy shit she is an adorable diabolical little girl and she knows it too. But she is also so sassy, smart and probably the cutest thing around too!!! I love that fact that she was so happy that she finally got to meet her dad and the way that she just takes charge and forces him into her world without any warning and him taking charge and just at first sight falling in love with her warms my heart. This whole thing just warms your heart in the best way ever!!!

But getting back to our main couple, I was in awe of their relationship from the beginning and when they finally found each other again, I was praying that they would just get it together and just pounded each other, if you know what I mean, lol. Cause her friend sure did hehe!! But also, speaking of those friends… They were amazing to read about because they provided such a great support system for our girl and it was just so wholesome.
Overall, this was an amazing read and a first for me from S. Sidney but let's just say I am excited to see what else she might come out with next. It was first person pov/dual pov and I need more. I'm not demanding but I am lol. I can't wait for the next installment.

this being a debut is CRAZY!
everything was written so well.
the mutual pining drove me crazy, really.
and the suprise baby trope, oh my 🥹
might be my favorite book with this trope so far.
I am not even kidding
oh and the slow burn? they for sureee took their time but it was SO worth it.
everything that happened while they came to their senseless so cute, my heart couldn’t take it.
but I loved it that they didn’t rush it and truly took their time. the slow burn was so perfect and important here.
the found family is such a big spot here and i really enjoyed reading all the love from every character.

how the emotions were written, and just the feelings, took everything straight to my heart.
these characters are amazing, supportive, caring, always there for each other and SO loving.

cam is so obsessed with both of his girls.
it was so warming to read how much he just loves his girls 🥹
this man is such a walking green flag,
I couldn’t handle it.
such a sweet, caring, loving and gentle man.
he didn’t even hesitate to jump him.
and how he just wasn’t there for his daughter but also ALWAYS there for amie as well, and he truly made sure she knew that.
how he always called for bedtime, like really ALWAYS.

„Have big dreams, sweetheart.“ 🥹

made my heart melt every time.

amie is such a strong, sweet and badass woman
everything she had to handle,
not letting herself get to close to protect maisy, but falling anyway and can’t get away from him.
her thoughts just made so much sense.
she is truly such a great mother to the sweetest little toddler.
maisy is such an angle, really.

this little family stole my heart so fast.
i really loved this book.
it was so amazing.

and i am really excited for the next story!

This was a 4.5 Star read and the perfect amount of spice!
I got the opportunity to read this as an ARC and I'm so thankful to S Sidney and LoveNotesPR,
I adored Amie and Cam the chemistry between them from their first scene was *chefs kiss*
The flight attendant life seems so interesting but exhausting at the same time and it's made me feel extra grateful for everyone who looks after us in the air!
This novel had one of my all time favourite tropes "Accidental pregnancy" which brought our two characters back together, did fate have a hand in this? Probably! Amie is the best momma to her little girl, who coincidentally has a love of all things planes and dinos which let's be real is every little kids favourite thing amirite??? And without knowing it, it was a sign from the universe that daddy flies Jurassic Air.
It was so interesting to have a father who never questioned his daughter's biology, I suppose her looking like his mini me was a helping hand! He was all in the minute he knew he had a babygirl and honestly GREEN FLAG my guy!
This is a medium paced, easy-to-read book, the perfect palette cleanser between a series maybe? The love in this novel between our three main characters - Amie, Cam and Maisy Moo literally tugged at my own heart strings and made me feel so blessed to have my own babies who are dino fanatics and also happen to be daddy's replicas.
I think my favourite portion of the book would have to be
"Maisy is napping on my chest, and Amie is beside me, legs slung across my lap, drifting in and out of sleep. I may not have much, but here in this moment, I feel like the richest man in the f**king world."
Cam Amie and Maisy will live on in my heart forever.
S Sidney you did it girl your first novel is out there! CONGRATS <3

The Best Bad Decision ARC Review

i was very fortunate to receive an ARC of The Best Bad Decision by S. Sidney from LoveNotesPR, thank you so much!! 🤎

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️/5

content warning: pregnancy, mental health (specifically anxiety and exhaustion), and very brief mentions of cancer.

“and in spite of it all, he still looks at me the way maisy looks at him: like i hung the moon.”

i’ve never really been a huge accidental pregnancy trope girly BUT this book changed my mind!! i absolutely devoured this book, it was so easy to read! and all the characters were so easy to fall in love with, especially maisy!!! but i also loved amie’s friend group. they were so supportive of amie and just absolutely hilarious! i really so think the author did an amazing job of taking such a sensitive but raw and real topic and creating this beautiful story.

amie and cam’s story was honestly so sweet and wholesome. i didn’t want the book to end, i just wanted to keep reading about them. from beginning to end, the chemistry between amie and cam was electric! and let’s not forget the star of show, maisy!!! she was the cutest, sweetest, smartest girl ever! i loved cam's reaction to amie telling him he had a daughter. he was so in love with her the moment he saw pictures of her! and when they meet for the first time, it was absolutely heartwarming.

for a debut novel, sammie did such an amazing job. everything about this book was amazing and was so beautifully written! i can’t wait to read the next book in this series and once again thank you so much to lovenotespr and s. sidney for providing me with this arc 🤎
