Our story began long before we realized it. As a Marine, I’m trained in discipline and control. Until her. Shy, Brilliant, Selfless—Rowan Ellis has no idea how beautiful she is. The night we met, something awakened feelings inside me I didn’t think possible. Then an unthinkable tragedy strikes, and I vow to protect her at all costs. Even if that means protecting her from me.
She thinks she's broken, but she's wrong. I can't sit back any longer and watch as she stumbles through the motions, her light dying along the way. So, it happens. One look, one touch, one kiss… everything changes. I’m done waiting. Now it’s all on the line. I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to give her the life she deserves. My name is Ford Whitman. And I never back down from a fight. Especially when I’m fighting for my forever.
USA Today Bestselling Author Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing.
Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand.
Ford and Rowan have been attracted to one another for a while now, but since Rowan has just gotten out of an abusive relationship Ford doesn't think it's time to act on the attraction...oh how wrong he is.
This story has all the feels, and I must mention that the heat level is HIGH, so break out the fans because you'll need them.
Mad Jack is Book 3 in the Men of Action series by Ahren Sanders. Rowan and Ford are finally getting the chance to see if they have a shot at becoming 🙌 more than work "acquainted "... I recommend for anyone who hasn't read book 1& 2 of the series, then do it. Rowan, the shy one and Ford, the man of action fixer come together to bring one amazingly hot, fresh, powerful, and sizzlingly satisfying read. Look forward to the next book in MOA. Characters on point, book setting(s) very nice and the message that the story does get across was sweet.
Mad Jack is book #3 in the Men of Action series. This is Ford and Rowan’s story. It is romantic, sexy and slow burning. It will bring out all of the feels. There is a heavier back story for Rowan with a bit of darkness to it. There are recaps from the previous stories so it is easy to keep up with the surrounding characters. All of the books are full of amazing alpha-males who are extremely possessive of their women. Lots of great friends and family and hot hot sexy times make Mad Jack a great summer pool or beach side read!
Rowan is a warrior! She has overcome so much in her life and is looking for her happily ever after. Although she is shy and reserved, she is working hard to come out of her shell. She works hard and that hard work is paying off. Ford is a badass Marine turned cop. He is ultra-alpha, fit and is all about his family including his Marine brothers. Together they light the pages of Mad Jack on fire!
”He’s trained in patience and purpose.”
The Men of Action series is full of family, friends and unbreakable bonds. There are so many characters and so many potential stories! I really enjoyed it and look forward to Talon’s story next!
One of the main things I love about this series is the friendship between Ace, Major, Ford, and Talon. Not only are they super entertaining, but they love each other fiercely and always have each others back.
This was Ford and Rowan's book, and what a ride it was. Ford definitely messed up in the beginning, but luckily for him, Rowan was not only strong but forgiving. There was a little OW drama in the sense that she wanted to be with Ford, but he treated her like the pesky mosquito she was.
So, all in all, this is a solid read that I would recommend.
Ah yes! I sure did miss the men of the Casanova Club and I’m thrilled that Ford and Rowan stopped dancing around each other and FINALLY hooked up! They had some help from their very entertaining and hilarious friends and this was one of the many highlights of the storyline. Mad Jack (Men Of Action #3) has a great blend of contemporary romance, hot and heavy sex, funny banter, alpha vibes and action. And this is exactly why I keep coming back for more and I definitely can’t wait to read Talon’s book since he is my favorite.
I love, love, loved Ford Whitman! I have been waiting for this story since the last book. Rowan has been through so much and deserves to finally find happiness. My heart just broke for her in the previous books. However, this is her story and it doesn't matter how broken she is, she deserves to be swept off her feet by her alpha male. Ford drove me crazy. But admittedly so did Rowan. Ford drove me crazy right off the bat with how slow he was taking things and how he was "always putting the choice in Rowan's hands." However he wasn't giving her a choice. He was forcing her to go slow. Then again Rowan drove me crazy with her "I don't need any help and I'm used to being alone" attitude. HELLO you have friends and new family who want to help and be there for you. Enjoy it. And enjoy your success!! Tera was unnecessary. I know we need an adversary. But she was just stupid and made everything and everyone awkward. Serious... she thought she was better than Rowan? Far from it. I loved this story and the swoon of it. Ford was so alpha and it made me laugh every time Rowan acted surprised by his actions or attitude. He's friends with Ace and Major! She saw them in action. She should have known better! I love the Rowan not only got her happily-ever-after but that she got it in love and success. That was a double bonus. My thought at the end? We need Talon and I can't wait to see who he'll end up with.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*
Whew! The heat is real in this one. This book will bring so many emotions. I loved Ford and Rowan. These two are a whirlwind. I can’t even put into words all this book meant to me. This author always blows me away. Every Time!! This big family will make you wish they were real so you could be a part of them. Now that’s talent.
Ford has spent the last months trying to give Rowan the space he thinks she needs to heal from the horrible things she's been through. But now the time has come for him to claim her, before, as his friends and his sisters keep telling him, it's too late and someone else makes their move. But before he can even get things started, he fucks it all up. Now he has to figure out how to get it through her head that she's his and to ask for her forgiveness.
For once she put herself out there and heeded her friends' advice, and what happens? Rejection. Now Rowan's doubly sure Ford's completely out of her league. Now their friendship is strained and she can't do anything about it but try to avoid him. So what's she going to do when she realizes she has it all wrong? All that intensity and protective man on the hunt, coming straight at her. She better brace herself...
These Men of Action are hot, protective, and possessive! They're also men, so they screw up, big time. Though Ford screwed up at first, once he realized it (thanks to some much needed pep talks from his guys) he more than redeemed himself in hot, possessive form. But as much as I loved Ford and all his protective intensity, Rowan is the main reason I fell in love with this couple. She's absolutely amazing - strong, always putting others' needs ahead of her own, and facing her demons down instead of running from them. Her chemistry with Mr. Alpha Protective is smokin' hot, there's suspense and action, and a fabulous storyline. This series just keeps getting better. I'm really looking forward to Talon's story now.

1. There were way too many characters introduced way too quickly. 2. This book was supposed to be a standalone but there were too many references to things that happened in previous books. I felt like I was missing the whole first half of the story. 3. I don’t know what it is about authors using so many ambiguous names in books these days; it can make it so much harder to figure out who’s who when you don’t know if a character is a man or a woman. This book has Rowan, Cruz, Jewls, Alex, Harley, Carson, Presley, Charlie - all either ambiguous names or not the gender that you would expect. 4. The H and h got together very early in the book so the author threw in a mysterious and secret task force that the H worked on, completely out of the blue. 5. I hate that all romance authors seem to be convinced that real men don’t use pronouns. 6. I REALLY disliked this H; after dating a very short time, he tried to convince the h to move in with him. Since the h was so wrong about her last bf, it made her nervous about her judgement and she wanted to wait to be sure. Instead of understanding and respecting her wishes, the H went behind her back to her friends and family to try to pressure her to move in with him. 7. This H’s jealousy was not romantic, it was scary and perhaps a warning sign of something more serious. 8. The H had to go away on a mission and was going to be out of touch for at least a week. The h tried to be understanding and told him that it was ok. The H told her he wanted her to always feel she could be honest with him so she told him that it sucked. Then, he was unbelievably patronizing and told her how “beautiful” she was when she was “pouting”. 🤬🤬🤬 9. The h realized that Tera knew about the H’s secret missions when she shouldn’t have but it didn’t occur to her to tell the H? 10. The h’s father humiliated her by going behind her back to talk "man to man" to the H about their relationship. The h was VERY upset with her father for not respecting her and interfering in her life so she punished him by making him think he wasn’t going to get desert. 🙄🙄🙄 11. When the h wouldn’t give in and agree to move in with the H and instead, continued looking for a house to buy, he went behind her back and cancelled the viewings she had planned. When everyone - the h, her friends and her family - seemed to think that was ok, I was DONE! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Mad Jack is Book 3 in the Men of Action series and although not necessary, I highly recommend you read books 1 (Speed King) and 2 (Power House) to get the full story and background of Ford and Rowan. Ford was the hero who swept in and saved Rowan. Rowan has spent most of her life as a type of "wallflower", never truly fitting in. Ford was her ultimate dream but she didn't feel like she lived up to his "type". Ford has been drawn to Rowan from the start but she was recovering from being assaulted. She is also smart and beautiful, way out of his league. These two definitely need a bit of a push from their wild and wacky but oh so supportive group of besties. Oh and did I mention there is a bit of suspense and mystery surrounding this crew? And if you have been keeping up with the writing of Ahren Sanders, some major characters from her awesome best sellers make appearances in this series. I'm hoping and dreaming that this series will continue on to include a story for Talon. He is so sweet and lovable and needs his very own HEA. This story is rated 5 stars for heat/tenderness/friendship/romance/suspense/mystery/ LOVE. and of course who could resist Mad Jack! (C. Seymour - blogger at Fun Under the Covers)
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Ford and Rowan. This is the third book in the Men of Action series and I have to say that I fell hard for Ford and Rowan. Get ready because these bring the heat and it is amazing to witness. If you have been reading this series then I am sure you, just like me have been waiting for Ford's story and it was so worth the weight. Rowan is a really sweet girl and she has really been through it. She's broken and you really root for her to want her happily ever after so badly. Ford was in the military and he is a man that thinks he can't love. He has seen and been through some horrible things. When it comes to Rowan he is taking things slow and I do mean really slow. He is bound and determined to make sure that Rowan is the one to choose what she wants. It gets a little frustrating but don't let that make you feel like this is going nowhere. But hang on. It is so worth it. All of it is. Everything that happens. All they go through. It is amazing to experience. I loved every single second of this book. It will make you feel all the feels and you will be hooked and a little sad when this book ends. I could have stayed in this book with Ford and Rowan for a long long time.

Rowan has been through a lot in the last six months and Ford, who's wanted her since the first time he laid eyes on her, is treating her like glass waiting for the right time to make his move. When he completely blows his first chance he makes it his mission to fix what he messed up and convince Rowan he's her forever. Spice galore, tons of sweet swoony moments, danger, and the nosy friends and family from the previous books (this can be read as a stand alone though), make this book a fantastic read. My favorite thing about this book is how Ford sees Rowan, like really sees her. Rowan's last relationship really took it out of her, her ex beat her, destroyed her judgement and self confidence, and made her feel like she wasn't enough. But to Ford she's brilliant, beautiful, literally the most interesting person in any room, so strong and his entire world. Completely made me melt when he'd take any moment they'd had that wasn't spectacular and recreate it so the memory was special. They just have a super cute relationship and Ford is just an amazing boyfriend giving Rowan back herself and the confidence to trust in their future.
Your next possessive man in uniform has arrived ladies.
Ford Whitman is the possessive alpha you need in your life. He may have messed up, but he is not about miss his shot.
Rowan Ellis is his. It’s time she learned it.
Coming off a bad relationship, Rowan hates being seen as a victim. After a misunderstanding, she’s beginning to learn that is *not* what Ford see her as.
He has plans for her, for them. And along the way, he helps her change her life for the better.
If you like: - men-in-uniform - possessive alpha - spicy scenes - friends to lovers - opposites attract Go run and grab this one!
I loved their relationship! You get to see all sides to Ford - the loyal, jealous, caring man wrapped up in a smexy uniform. And the growth Rowan experiences, in her personal and professional life, was so heartwarming.
I always enjoy Ahren Sanders stories for their balance of smut and action-filled plot. Mad Jack fits that bill perfectly!
Plus, we get to continue seeing the core friend group from the series and see what stage of their relationship they’re at. Some of the BEST side characters around! The BANTER.
Even the most powerful men can be brought to their knees by the right woman they say. Mad Jck by A. Sanders is book three in the Men of Action Series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. the previous books are Speed King and Power House. This is Ford and Rowan's story. A story that already started in book two , aka read in order. Ford, the hardened ex -Marine already rescued her once, has her set on a pedestal, thinks she's too good for him, stays away from her. Rowan is a sweet, strong heroine who knows what she wants, has great friends ( who love meddling), loves life even when she has some issues related to her past. An action and drama filled story that gives a lifelesson or two. Relationships are not easy, they require work from both parties. I statred reading and was thrown right in the story and the characters. The story, I already mentioned, picks up where the previous book was left off, had me in knots, gave me all the feels. I loved reading this gem of a story and recommend the book and the series.
Ford is a marine in the reserves and is a LEO. He is possessive, OTT alpha and only has eyes for Rowan. He fell for her from the moment he saw her. However, after a tragic event, he's decided to keep his distance to allow her room and time to heal.
Rowan is so sweet, kind hearted, and smart. She owns a salon and is a chemist. She has always been the "odd one out" and never feels like she's fit somewhere. She has always wanted Ford, but felt like he was a dream.
Their group of friends definitely meddle to push things along between them because it had been a long time coming dammit. 😅 I absolutely loved Ford and Rowan. Their relationship, banter, and fights that were named "discussions". I loved how sweet and patient Ford is with Rowan even though he wanted to be full steam ahead with their lives.
This story was full of action, drama, and a bit of suspense. It was fantastic from beginning to end. I can't wait for Talon next!
Ford is a protector who has always done what he feels is right and puts the needs of others before himself. He has feelings for Rowan and was there when she needed someone the most and isn’t about to walk away even if he believes it would be best for her.
Rowan is working towards overcoming a traumatic event. She may have feelings for Ford, but she isn’t certain what he sees in her which is only one of the challenges they must overcome.
The relationship between Ford and Rowan has been developing for a while and I enjoyed every minute of seeing them find their way to each other as well as catching up with the other characters we know and love.
This is the third book in this series, and this is Ford and Rowan’s story. Rowan is shy, selfless, and smart, but tends to be a “wildflower,” not truly fitting in. Ford is draw to Rowena from the start, but she is recovering from an assault, and he gives her the time to heal and recover. This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, and has loyalty, friendships, suspense, mystery, witty banter, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, haunting, unpredictable, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
A story that will engage all the emotions. It was fun and sexy with a lot of action. Ford and Rowan have been dancing around each other for a while. Rowan was getting out of an abusive situation. She is beautiful, intelligent and independent. Her self esteem is dented. She liked Ford but never thought she had a chance. Ford also liked Rowan. Her was very patient with her letting things move slowly for her. (Maybe too slow). It all comes together and worth the wait. Also got to keep up with the other “Men of Action”. this found family will pull you in and not let go.
Love all the books in this series. The first I read was Surrender by Ahren Sanders and I was hooked! Since then, I planned to read all her books. This is the last book in the Men of Action series and I hope that there will be more. Mad Jack is just a nickname for Ford Whitman. He is a retired Marine, and now works with the police department. Rowan is Ford's "Woman" and he will do anything to protect her. This book covers the love between them and their many adventures. If you love books of romance with some heat and suspense, then you should definitely read this and anything written by Ahren Sanders. I'm always on the lookout for anything new from this author!
Book 3 in the Men in Action Series, Ford is a naturally a protector, especially to Rowan. He feels such a pull to her but she's gone through so much, he watches the love of his life from afar, giving her time to get back to her 100% self. Rowan, is shy and just has had bad bad luck with her previous guy. Her character grows quite a bit in this story. While skittish around new people, she feels at ease with Ford, there is just something about Rowan he can't shake. It was easy to get sucked into this story. These two are good together, you could feel how much they love each other.
Omgeeee another freaking amazing story! Ford and Rowan stole my heart. He’s so bossy I love it!! These two kept me smiling. And the heat he brings to the bedroom was FIRE!!! Loved seeing all the guys and girls again. The had me cracking up, towards the end of chapter 28 had me almost peeing myself. Haha So many twists and turns. This book had so much going on I could t get enough. I absolutely love this series and these characters and I’m hoping Talon gets his story. I’m not ready to say goodbye.
Rowan has been through a lot, I was heartbroken for her. But she is so strong and selfless and is the perfect match for Ford. Ford is possessive and protective. He’s has given Rowan the space he thought she needed, but he stuffed up and has to fix what he broke. Steamy, sweet, fun, witty and romantic balanced by trauma, suspense, drama and emotion. A wonderful, supportive group of friends that help Ford and Rowan get their HEA. Each book in this series has kept me enthralled, I’ve loved every minute and every couple. Looking forward to more.
Mad Jack is Book 3 in the Men of Action series by Ahren Sanders, we met Ford & Rowan in the previous books so I'm glad we get their story. Ford is a marine and he is trained in discipline and control so when he finds Rowan under attack, he rescues her and makes it his mission to make sure she recovers without any more fear. Ford allows Rowan time to heal and when he thinks she is ready he sets out to make her his.
I love this series, the men are alpha, fierce and loyal and will do anything to protect the ones that they love.
Ford was cautious with Rowan because of her past. He loved from afar. Rowan's trust in men had been broken, but she was ready to move forward. Misunderstandings, shenanigans, and lots of support from all around kept this story interesting with witty dialogue, groveling, and more. I enjoyed their journey, and I hope to check out the other books in this series.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Ford and Rowan have an amazing connection. Tragedy has kept them apart for a while but healing and time allows for love for really form. Ford is a protector but Mad Jack is fierce. Rowan needs the healing love of Ford to move forward in life and really find her own voice and express her passion.
Ahren Sanders has written another book you will not want to put down. Ford will definitely be one of your new book boyfriends. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This is a new author for me and I thought that this would be more of a romantic suspense story. I didn't read the other books before this, but I was still able to understand everything that happened in the past. To me, this was more of a contemporary romance with more steam and dialogue than anything else. It struggled to hold my interest at times. I received an ARC copy.
Move over Ace, Ford is in town. Protective ex-Marine fell for Rowan hard and fast. After a few misunderstandings Ford had, had enough and scooped Rowan of her feet. Heart melting, full of action, and swoon worthy moments is book 3 of Men of Action series. The badass girl gang is what I need in my life. The found family in this series is hands down the best. I can’t wait to re-read this whole series once we have Talon’s story.
Absolutely love jack and rowen! The way they dance around each other is so cute. I love how he’s always there for her. Rowan breaks my heart with all that she’s been through and the punches keep coming. Will he be able to save her the next time? Great book!!
