Graeme Rowland Base is a British-Australian author and artist of picture books. He is perhaps best known for his second book, Animalia published in 1986, and third book The Eleventh Hour which was released in 1989.
A beginning fold out flaps book for the very young about the parent animal and then what their baby is called. It is very simple and it doesn’t look like a Graeme Base book. The artwork is very simple.
The nephew thought this was boring. He went through it quickly and said, boring. He gave it 2 stars. He did like the fold out flaps. The niece didn’t read this.
With fold-out pages, this series highlights factual information about various animals. The series is beautifully illustrated and engaging and I would 100% recommend it for ages 3-7. This book teaches animal baby names (Dogs have puppies; Penguins have chicks; Horses, foals; Lions, cubs; Frogs, tadpoles; Swans, cygnets; Pigs, piglets).
