This almanac sharpens my skills in geography, writing and research. I could not locate the Canary Islands, Malawi, Papua New Guinea, or New Zealand on a map before I read this book. But after reading this book, I can tell exactly where these places are and what makes them special. The Canary Island has a specific island called El Hierro. This island is powered only wind and water power. This makes the Canary Island a dream destination, because I would like to see how the people do this. Malawi is a country known for the largest freshwater fish park in the world. I love to look at different species of fish, so I would enjoy visit Malawi. Papua New Guinea is next to Australia. This country is known for his rainforest. I love to look at different plants, so that is the allure for Papua New Guinea for me. New Zealand has caves that are formed by glow worms. Looking at these caves would be a fascinating sight to see.

This almanac provides tips on how to write essays and letters. I am always looking to improve my writing, so I enjoy the insights provided here. The most helpful tips would be to revise and proofread my essays. The best tip for letter writing is write a strong introduction paragraph that explains why I am writing the letter.

This almanac sharpens my skills as a researcher by challenging me to research insects and a culture I am interested in. I haven't been challenged to research a subject in a long time, and these subjects will improve my academic ability to read and write concisely. These are two projects that would be educational and fun for me.

June 2025: NGK Almanac 2026 (US Edition)

I got a mixed feeling reading this as a first-timer. First, the creatures in this world are so amazing and there so much to learn! 😲Second, I learned how very small I am compared to the world.

The places featured are wonderful that it makes me wonder when do I get to visit these places. For now, I'll just settle with looking at pictures, thanks to this publication.

Divided into topics such as Amazing Animals, Science & Technology, Awesome Explorations, History Happens, Geography Rocks etc the pages are colour-marked.

Kids will have a great time with Fun and Games and Laugh Out Loud. They will also get to know real people with cool jobs such as the Cartographer, the Primatologist and Wildlife Photographer. Parents be ready if they come to you with the Stump Your Parents quiz!

My favourites are reading the good news in The Comeback Critters and Science Bloopers.
I was expecting more content on Asia until I got a better look at the cover and realized this is the US version. No wonder the history, civil rights and maps of the United States were featured. Let's pray for the struggling countries to get their independence and be listed in NGK's future almanac 🫡

Thank you #Pansing for this copy. Don't forget to get a copy from participating bookshops.
