Action - check. Well-defined characters - check. Romance - check. Steam - double check! This was a fabulous book that kept me wanting to continue reading chapter after chapter. I'm not big on Mafia storylines, but this had an excellent alpha male role who was really just a teddy bear when it came to the love of his life. So much passion and drama throughout! I can't wait to read another book by Ember - she is definitely one of my top authors now!.

I absolutely fell in love with both Lana and Wesley. I love how Wesley was there to help Lana out of a bad situation. The chemistry between these two is off-the charts hot. Forbidden Protector is an exceptionally well-written, entertaining, and enjoyable read. I found that I had a difficult time with this book down because I didn’t want to stop reading it. I found that I was able to fully immerse myself into this story with ease which I absolutely love when I can do that with an amazing book with an outstanding storyline. Author Ember Heart did a fantastic job with the way she breathed life to this story through her writing. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone. I can’t wait to see what will be next for Ember Heart.

The idea of a billionaire ex-mercenary stepping in to protect a mafia heiress had potential for some steamy, high-stakes drama. However, the execution left me wanting more.
The chemistry between the characters, which is crucial for a romance like this, didn't quite hit the mark. The enemies-to-lovers trope felt underdeveloped—their "enemy" status seemed more about their respective backgrounds than any real tension between them. It was more like they were rivals in name only, which took away some of the excitement I was hoping for.
When it comes to the steamy scenes, I found them to be fairly tame. If you're expecting something truly spicy, you might be a bit disappointed. The heroine, while in a precarious situation, came across as a bit too naive and lacking in depth. I was hoping to see her evolve and show more personality, but she remained somewhat one-dimensional throughout.
On the plus side, the plot does have some interesting twists, even if they were a bit predictable for my taste. The backstory of the characters is well-crafted, giving them a solid foundation, but I felt like there was a missed opportunity to flesh out their relationship more fully. It all happened a bit too quickly without the gradual build-up that makes a romance truly satisfying.

This is a Mafia/billionaire romance involving Lana (heiress to the De Luca crime family) and Wes ('The Wolf', self-made billionaire ex-mercenary) story. Their chemistry is totally of the charts, this is where their story begins. She has found herself in a Very dangerous situation. Now, throw in an evil stepmother, betrayal at the highest level, her life being taken over, her inheritance being stolen, and to top it off, her life is in danger! Just when she thought all was lost, in steps her hero, 'The Wolf' It is an intriguing read.

This book has a good storyline with Wes and Lana having a past (that she's unaware of, at first) and passionate chemistry. Then you add her step mother, her father (Wes has a history with him too) and don't forget Adam. I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked to read more at the end to see how everything came together. What happened to Alexis? And an extended epilogue would be great to see more into the their future!

OMG 😱 action packed of drama between them it was electrifying of sexual tension. It was a page turner and the suspense was intense and I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. The chemistry between them was sensational and the physical attraction was marvelous. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. If I had to have a protector, I will want Wesley especially if he looks like the cover. I am drooling and having beads of sweat on my neck. HOT, HOT STUFF!!! Lana and Wesley are 2 really good characters that show us what an ELECTRIFYING CHEMISTRY they develop and show us. So, don't wait any longer and read Ember's book it will keep you entertained.

Action packed romance mafia, ummm yes please!!
With this book being a little less than 200 pages it was easy to get through and the storyline keeps you engaged! I mean who doesn’t enjoy a forbidden romance. He’s protective over her and their chemistry is off the charts steamy! 🔥

This entertaining Mafia Romance has drama, steam, danger, and good character development. The MCs are defined, have chemistry, and are engaging. I liked this book.
