American photographer Tara Lynch has never wanted anything more than to visit Ireland—but her itinerary didn’t include chasing peacocks around a wildlife park! On the other hand, it didn’t include meeting a tall, handsome Irishman and falling head over heels for him in a heartbeat, either, so it might be time for Tara to re-think what makes a perfect holiday.
Peacock shifter Declan McCarthy, a local artist, certainly didn’t expect to meet his fated mate during an afternoon at the park, but when his secret shifter self is revealed to Tara the very first time they meet, he wants nothing more to sweep her off her feet. Tara is more than willing to be swept—but there’s a wicked fashion designer stealing peacock feathers straight off the birds at the park, and both Declan and Tara are determined to put a stop to it.
When Tara accidentally convinces the thief that she’s a ‘peacock whisperer,’ they realize they have the chance to scare the woman straight—and Declan’s peacock has a few giant ideas on how to do that!
Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s beautiful Blarney Castle, this charming, funny romcom with no cliffhangers is a cuppa for the soul!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
I loved, loved this fated mates romance with a side of peacock feather stealing thief. The story had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, and real life issues. I fell into all the story’s goodness on the first page and did not look up or stop smiling until the very end. Tara is an American secretary and photographer who is on a 2 week trip to Ireland. She makes a spur of the moment decision to get off the train before her hotel stop and visit an animal park. Declan is a peacock shifter who is in the shifter friendly Shamrock Safari Wildlife Park. As soon as Declan sees Tara he realizes she’s his mate. Deciding he just has to meet her as a human, he accidentally shifts where she can see him. Now he just has to convince to stay forever. Despite being short, this well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters and a captivating storyline.
Features: 🍀 She's an American photographer on vacation in Ireland.
🦚 He's a peacock shifter & artist that accidentally shifts in front of her.
🍀 Someone has been stealing peacock feathers at the zoo nearby. They both need to solve the mystery before more peacocks get hurt.
Overall, this one was adorable yet hilarious. There were a ton of laugh out loud moments, even though the jokes can be pretty crass. I was giggling through most of the book.
It's love at first sight and closed door, but sweet and charming. The mystery wasn't much of a mystery, but still fun with how they worked together to figure it out.
The ending was pretty fun and I loved that the couple got their happily ever after. Definitely recommend Murphy Lawless/Zoe Chant as a quick, fun rom com.
Tara is an American visiting Ireland for a vacation. Declan is an Irish peacock shifter who goes to the wildlife park to be able to shift safely. Then he sees his mate and struts his stuff only to have her follow him and see him shift! What's a guy to do? Well, read this to find out what happens next. The innuendos throughout are hilarious!
The pace is fast and the tone is hopeful with a character centered storyline that has some action and some steamy suggestions, but no details. The characters are vivid and engaging. The peacock is especially delightful! This is a quick and fun read with a lot of silly plays on words. This is book 2 so I would read them in order, but you don't have to. Enjoy!
This was another enjoyable instalment in the Shamrock Safari shifters series with Declan-the-peacock-shifter and Tara-the-American-tourist as lead characters.
As always with this particular Zoe's books, it was light-hearted, safe warm hug of a story, plus, it was one that induced a particularly loud squee with the reference to Megan the Murder Driver and Leprechaun Limos (which I was ALSO reading at the same time).
I will basically keep reading these books for as long as Ms Murphy keeps writing them!
I very much enjoyed this lighthearted fated mates romance. The connection between peacock shifter (THAT'S a new one!) Declan and vacationing photographer Tara was very quick and very sweet. There's the requisite bag guy (gal) in the story, but nothing more ominous than a feather stealer. Other than some off-color PeaCOCK jokes by Declan's unwitting bird side, this was a clean read. If you need a smile, this book is for you!
This was such a fun story to read. I loved it! When a peacock shifter finds his fated mate, it's exciting. When the couple has to figure out how to stop a self-centered designer to stop hurting animals without exposing the shifter's secret, the story goes from exciting to surreal. Very highly recommended!
This second book in the Shamrock Safari Wildlife Park series was even more fun than the first. Declan's inner peacock was hilarious throughout the book. It seems that Declan's inner peacock doesn't get human innuendo. The "meet cute" was definitely different since Tara, who was jet lagged, caught Declan as he shifted from peacock to human. Poor Tara. A sweet and magical story.
so a fantasy taking credit for something in reality? um? just no!
I had some issues with “believability in this book and that is saying something coming from a fantasy novel.when your fantasy collides with reality and reality seems more like fantasy. Sorry you have over reached! And missed the mark by a mile
Peacock on Parade (Shamrock Safari Shifters) by Murphy Lawless, C E Murphy, Zoe Chant. Tara arrived in Ireland for a holiday and to take photos, her hobby she would like to make her job. First day she goes to Anavee Island Safari Park where she accidentally she’s a peacock turn into a man. Declan is a peacock shifter and Tara is his mate.
A fun shifter story in Ireland. This story was so much fun and loaded with cultural misunderstandings that were so amusing. It was a delight to meet up with some different shifters in this universe. Well done!
This story is amazing. Lots of laughs and just a bit of intrigue. Just thinking about the hijinks makes me smile. Interesting characters and well written.
Still not good but not as badly bad as the first one, at least this one was good and fun, very fun, action, dialogue and banter. Short enough to finish it a day, is not a bad way to loose time waiting for an appointment or between loading times, but it's not good for anything else.
When on vacation in Ireland fate takes a hand to connect an American tourist and an Irish artist out strutting his stuff. Fun play on words, mischief, and magic.
This is the second book in a series of stand alone stories. It is super sweet and fun quick read. The characters are fantastic and I really loved Tara and Declan. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series
I enjoyed reading this book. Full of humor and mystery. I love a book that can make you laugh out loud or just bring out want emotion. I was given this book and I voluntarily leave this review.
