In the novel Five-Dollars, by Chanell J. Wilson, Mac, Reesha, The Kid and Evie find themselves wrestling with the conditions of being poor. Each character has their inner strength tested as they journey through trials & tribulations. Their stories are told through various interactions with the same five-dollar bill.

Chanell J. Wilson has been performing since the age of three and writing songs and poetry since the age of thirteen. She studied Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University, Recording Arts at Diablo Valley College, & Screenwriting & Editing at Academy of Art University. She has published Braidgirl: The Hair Braiding Instructional ebook, Identity?: A Black Girl's Hair Memoir, & Weekends Only. She is co-Owner of Beaver-Wilson Girls Media and hosts MJC Rocks on youtube. Currently, she resides in Northern California with her family. She is the mother of a two-year old son.
