Ellie Lukas knows how to write her novellas! I enjoyed this one and read it within the hour. The chemistry between the two was on point and so was that car scene 🔥. I just wish it had a little bit more to the overall story. This one felt a little more rushed than it needed to be but nevertheless her novellas are always a good read!

Little Miss Sunshine is really Troublle with a capital T. She’s sassy, tenacious, and deeply devoted to those she cares about. If Murphy Weston thinks he’s going to get rid of her easily, he’s got another thing coming. The cabin is his safe haven, where he’s able to shut out all the noise and battle his inner demons. But Blyth throws herself right into the middle of it all.

While it’s a quick read, my girl Ellie has again created characters you immediately connect with, that grip your heart, and make you want to live in their world. It’s a delightful mix of spicy and sweet that also tackles trauma and the need we all have deep down to feel protected, in a beautiful way. I never want these to end but I’m always ready for the next 💜

Chasing Lustre is part of the Sweetheart Falls series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, instalust, OTT, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, girl gets her mountain man romance. Blyth is a sassy, feisty, determined, and quirky girl. Murphy is a hunky, grumpy, ex-military man turned mountain man. He is a bit reclusive due to PTSD and anger issues. Blyth's best friend, Tilly, is getting married to Drew. Murphy is Drew's best friend and is supposed to be the best man at the wedding but has been avoiding them due to a bit of social anxiety. As Tilly's maid of honor, Blyth is determined that Murphy will honor his agreement and goes to Sweetheart Falls to bring him back to Lustre for the wedding. These two are hysterical together. I love how Murphy calls her Trouble. Their bantering and snark is funny, and their chemistry is off the charts hot🔥 hot 🔥 hot 🔥. I love how they became each other's safe space and loved that we ended on a happy note. This was my first book by this author but not the last. I loved it so much!!!!.

Murphy, however, just wants to be left alone in his cabin in the mountains. The last thing he needs is a meddling Maid of Honor breaking into his house, demanding he come with her. But with Blyth’s feisty, never-give-up attitude, she convinces the grumpy Murphy to go along.
Ellie Lukas is fantastic at writing quick, fun, and spicy novellas. The whole Lustre series hooks you right from the start of each story, and Chasing Lustre was no different. These two characters were immediately intriguing, and their insta-love story was both fun and steamy. This is a super fast read—you could finish it in about an hour! I also loved the new setting, Sweetheart Falls, mixing with the original Lustre Lake!

Ahh this book was perfect!
Short, Sweet & Spicy.

I absolutely loved these two. I could have read more about them. Blyth has to be my favorite fmc, she made me laugh. She’s slightly unhinged and super sassy, I adored her!

Murphy was amazing! He’s so sweet. There’s mental health rep, that was really well written. I loved how protective and obsessed Murphy was.

Tilly and Drew are getting married. Blythe, Tilly's best friend, is determined to make this day special for the couple. Her most important duty is getting the best man to Lustre Lake. Murphy lives peacefully in Sweetheart Falls which is about 6 hours away. Murphy and Drew served in the military together. Drew saved his life, but that is still not enough to make Murphy leave his sanctuary. Sweetheart Falls is where Murphy feels safe.

PTSD is real and Murphy is coping the best way he knows how. Blythe is on a mission and will do whatever takes to get Murphy to Lustre Lake. Blythe shows up at Murphy's house and refuses to leave without him. What neither thought about was the explosive chemistry they had for each other. Despite the reason, Blythe and Murphy were inevitable. I really loved both of the these characters. This book is pretty short, but I feel like Ms. Lukas gives readers what they need to fall in love with these characters. Will Murphy take the plunge and make some changes in his life to accommodate Blythe? Can Blythe leave behind her hometown and her best friend?

We back again in lustre lake and I couldn't have been more happier. I freaking love this series and all the characters init.

This time we get to dive into Murphy and blyth's story, it's a fast paced , quick read novella and I ate every single bit of it up. Never putting it down for a moment. It's an emotional sweet rollercoaster ride that will make you feel all the feels. The characters are wonderful, the world building is amazing, the storyline beautiful and sweet. Their chemistry is sizzling, their attraction is instant. And that car scene was wow. IYKYK. I can't wait to read more by Ellie. Highly recommend!!

Blyth is maid of honor at her best friend Tilly's wedding and no one takes it more seriously than her. So when drew says his best man is ghosting him. She decides to take it in too her own hands and drag his ass back if she needs too. Off to his little bubble in sweetheart falls.

Murphy is drews best friend and best man , they both served in the military together. Murphy ends up with PTSD and is a grumpy man. He loves his sanctuary and doesn't want to leave it not even for his best friends wedding. He's coping the only way he knows how.

He definitely wasn't expecting a fiery ball of trouble to show up on his door step and demand he comes back with her. He sure as hell wasn't expecting her to just let herself in either after he ignores her. The two end up spending time together and getting close and then Murphy gives in and the drive to the wedding together. The mission was successful and a new love is forming.

This book is fire, seriously melting the words off the page steamy. This is Murphy and Blyth’s story. Blyths’ best friend is getting married and the best man has decided to not show up for his duties to he friend and brother in arms. So she takes the task as the best friend and maid of honor to make sure the wedding is everything her friend wants. That includes bringing a grumpy man to the wedding.
Murphy’s brother in arms and friend is getting married but since the incident that lead to him getting out of the army, he hasn’t left his mountain. Anxiety, terrors, panic attacks. So he rather not go to the wedding and stay in his safe cabin in the middle of Sweetheart Falls’ mountains.
This book has event of attempted assault and the trauma after. Murphy is the man that every woman wants but is afraid to speak up and say that’s what they want. The dominance and submission in this book is beautiful, the protective nature of Murphy and her wanting to be taken care of, giving ultimate control over to someone is beautiful. This story is hot but not just that it is a story about trust and finding that person that can calm you and ground you. Also having you covered, knowing that you are wanted and feeling safe at the same time. Really a great read and the my first Ellie Lukas book, gotta say I need more of these possessive, demanding, controlling, DOMINATING Men and the women that bring them to their knees.

But here's the thing—Blyth is impossible to resist, and soon, her fierce spirit starts chipping away at Murphy’s gruff exterior. I loved when Blyth sneaks into Murphy’s house and gets more than she bargained for. But, if anyone can handle a surprise like that, it’s Blyth. The chemistry between these two is electric, intensifying on their road trip when Murphy refuses to fly. Watching him fight his way through his issues for her is both heartwarming and raw. There's one particularly intense scene that will forever make me think twice about stopping at a gas station restroom—but don’t worry, Murphy is there to save the day. This story is a captivating blend of slow-burn romance, sharp banter, and deep emotional healing. Watching Murphy push beyond his limits to be with Blyth is everything, and their journey together is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Where do I start? This book was PHENOMENAL. I expected just another great, quick read romance book, and I would have been perfectly happy with that. This book was SO. MUCH. MORE.
Do you have a crazy, devoted bestie? Or are you the crazy, devoted bestie? If so, you will absolutely LOVE Blyth, I couldn’t help but wish she was my best friend.

The characters were very well-developed, I felt like I knew them forever. The storyline had FANTASTIC humor with Blyth and her no-filter antics. It also had some serious mentions of PTSD which were written very well. There was a caution at the beginning of this WONDERFUL book, warning about “graphic sexual content” and “assault”. I appreciate when an author discloses possible triggers, it helps me prepare better for the read. The steamy sex scenes fit in with the couple and the story.

I loved the talented way the author describes scenes. Ellie Lukas’s words gave me a vivid picture of everything from the bridal shop at the beginning of the book, to the “magical” lake near the end. I have difficulty visualizing things, but the written illustrations were clear and fabulous.

Lukas always gives me just what I need with these quick reads. These are perfect for a book hangover or if you want to sit and read something in one sitting. This is spicy, funny, and has quite a bit of drama squeezed into this novella. Blyth is seriously a little spitfire and it was just so fun to follow along with her. She was desperate to get this mountain man to attend his best friends wedding. Murphy swore he would stay in his mountain house and for good reason. But Blyth had other things in mind. Blyth did not want to return to her best friend's wedding without Murphy. I loved their story and especially how it started. I don't know how Lukas does it, but I felt the connection with these characters in just the short time. I love how she adds animals to her stories and the spice was on point.

This was supposed to be a wedding, but it’s about to become a funeral.

This was a fun story to read and I so enjoyed both Murphy and Tilly. They were complete opposites, with her being socially outgoing, and him being a mountain recluse preferring to stay away from people in general. This attitude of his doesn't mesh with her desires to have him as Drew's best man (as Drew wants).

While I loved the back and forth, push and pull between the MCs, I was beyond annoyed that Tilly never once thought of WHY he didn't want to attend. Never asked nor alluded to it. The only thing that mattered was what SHE wanted. Perhaps if his reasons hadn't been mental health related it wouldn't have bothered me, but they were, and he was trying to take care of not only himself but those around him. He's an honorable man, and was doing an honorable thing. After Drew convinced him, and even after two incidents, she didn't smarten-up and ask. I get she was focused on her task, but you should never be so caught up you forget the person. In that way, Murphy's focus and detail orientation balances her well.

Ummmm this book caught me by surprise. Of course I go in 100% blind and the cover is nothing to what is inside this fanatic book. From the moment I started this book I was sucked in and read the whole thing in one day!

From the characters build up to the spicy ness, it is amazing. Yes this is the 4th book in the series but they are all stand alone and could be read just like that. And I personally will be going back and reading them all. So good!!

You have Blyth and she is determine to get Murphy to her best friend wedding 💒, and she is not stopping at nothing. Man was I laughing at these too from the very beginning but rooting for them at the same time. So cute! And Murphy is a grump ex military and likes to stay home cause of his PTSD. Which I can relate to that completely. But all it takes is the will power of Blyth to get him going on a 6 hour car ride to be in the wedding and did I tell you about all the drama added into this book.

What a great read again!!! I just had to say it... Fast paced, great 🌶️ and a great storyline...

She is passionate, loyal, impulsive and would do anything for her best friend, so when the best man for her wedding tries to ghost the groom, she takes matters into her own hands and decides to drag him there for her friends. He is a loner who lives in the woods, preferring to stay away from people as he carries some heavy baggage from his military days. But he might be no match for the trouble that rolls into his life. This is a short story format so you do not expect to get a lot of detailed character development or complicated plot lines.. however, this one is just fun from the beginning. Both of the characters are really well laid out. Their personalities are distinctive and original. Their chemistry is very steamy with their spice is panty melting. This is a great read all the way to their HEA… I do wish there was an epilogue because I would have loved to see one more whirlwind Blyth episode and how Murphy handles her… swoon.

What a fun, cute - though emotional - read from Lukas in her Lustre universe. I really loved this one, and flew through it, because Blyth and Murphy's story had me turning pages.

Blyth is a little ball of chaos which I loved - I saw a lot of myself in her, honestly - and I loved her tenacity at breaking down grumpy mountain man Murphy's walls. This is insta-attraction/insta-lust, I won't lie, but Lukas has written it in a way that's very believable and has left it open for our characters to continue to grow, and have more of a story down the track, if so desired. I do wish it was a little longer, as I feel we could have delved into both characters deeper, but I really enjoyed their story, and the magic of Lustre Lake.

It's sweet and spicy, with a few deep moments thrown in, and leaves you wanting more. And with all of Lukas' stories, we can't forget the cute animal companions making an appearance.

Blythe is out wedding dress shopping with Tilly (Tilly and Drew are in this book!) and they spot Murphy out on the street. Poor Murphy. He was going to be the best man for Drew, but he decided to back out. Murphy had no idea the maid of honor did not accept no as an answer.

When Blythe and Tilly confront Murphy, he still will not say yes to being part of the wedding. What's a woman to do? Respect his space and wishes? Nope! Not Blythe. She shows up at his house with camping supplies and says she's not leaving until he agrees to go to the wedding as the best man in Lustre.

Blythe is absolutely hilarious and so bold. I love her as Tilly's best friend and she fits right in with the Lustre crew. Murphy is extra grumpy x2 for real! He wants people to know he is a big, cranky guy but Blythe is determined to coax the teddy bear side of him out.

This was an absolute gem for a Novella in the series and I was so excited to see more behind the scenes for Tilly and Drew.

As Blyth looks out a window, she sees the 'hottest' man ever saw in her life. Tilly teases her about drooling and fanning her face until Tilly looks outside before she is running thru the door yelling 'Murphy'. She says that she is his best friend, Drew's fiance; Murphy sneers and says 'Lucky him...'. Blyth is pissed and suddenly Murphy looks at her; he calls her 'Trouble'. Murphy says "Tell Drew I'll be there". Does Murphy really plan to be at the wedding? Blyth decides that she will do whatever is needed to get him to get him there. What does Blyth do to get him to the wedding? During her attempts, does Murphy change from a loner? Does his feeling change and why?.

Murphy, the MMC, will break your heart! Former Air Force pilot, he was shot down while on duty and now suffers from PTSD. Only peace, quiet and isolation can soothe him so what happens when trouble with a capital T invades his sanctuary?

Blyth, aka Trouble, never met a challenge she couldn’t overcome and when it comes to her best friend’s wedding, there’s no way she’s gonna let the big grumpy man disappoint her…no matter how hot he is! Convincing him is another matter—especially when he insists on locking her out but he never counted on how stubborn she could be!

Don’t miss the fireworks between these two, spanning the distance between Sweetheart Falls, Murphy’s home, and Lake Lustre, the location of the wedding and Blyth’s beloved home town. Awesome read!! 4.5 stars!.

Ellie hits it out of the park again. This short story is an instant attraction romance with some damaged hearts that get healed by each other.

Murphy & Blythe compliment each other so well. Their personalities seem like they would clash so hard, but they genuinely fit together.
She's fiesty, witty, and full of life.
He's broody, traumatized, and antisocial.

I thought the way she forced herself into his orbit was hilarious. The way she walked in on him, oooo!!! I loved it. I was cracking up during quite a bit of this book.
The way he handled Preston at the wedding. "Leave." " Now."

The situation that happened to Blythe made me so mad. Like shit happens like that all the time, every day. The fact that the author left him breathing......

I really really enjoy Ellie' writing.

This was about Murphy and Blyth. Her best friend was getting married so they went to sweetheart falls which is a few hours away from their town to look for wedding dresses. While they were there they ran into Murphy. This is why Tilly wanted to go to this town because Murphy was supposed to be the best man and he kept ghosting him. So they went to talk him into it. He agreed but then he left. A few weeks go by and it’s a week before the wedding and he is ignoring his friend’s calls again. So Blyth went to his house to find out what is going on. He was ignoring her and so she walked around his house and let herself in because the door was unlocked. They hung out for a few days and got very close. He ended up driving with Blyth to the wedding. At one of the stops something happened and he was there to stop it. I love this whole series.

Chasing Lustre is a hot novella with quirky characters who are absolutely perfect for each other. Murphy is a traumatized veteran who is self-aware and chooses isolation over constant PTSD triggers. Blyth is off her rocker in the sweetest and kindest way—she has no fear of going after what she wants, and she lets no one stop her from accomplishing her goals. I LOVE how these two meet, then how they reunite and the journey they take together. I cried for Murphy’s hurts, laughed so much at their antics, and cheered so hard when Blyth kept fighting. This was a super fun read with a beautiful blend of action, reaction, emotion, sizzle, and steam. Loved it!

I loooooooove this series!!!! They’re all novellas and short but so freaking good. You can read in any order because they’re stand alones but I read on order. Each one takes place inside the towns of Lustre Lake and Sweetehart Falls.

When Blythe is a MOH for her bestie she is tasked with making sure that a broody Murphy makes it to the wedding, him being the best man. Even though neither of them want to be together, let alone in a relationship, neither of them can stop fate.

There better be more in this series cause I am obsessed! There’s also a collection dropping on Amazon soon so I’ll definitely be getting that!

Ellie Lukas continues the Lustre Lake series with the wedding of Drew and Tilly, reminding us why we love this place and these people. Tilly’s best friend, Blythe, helps her lock down getting the best man (Murphy) to the wedding. Murphy isn’t sure he can do social settings like that after the trauma him and Drew experienced in the military. But this grump is no match for wild and free Blyth.

It’s a short story, but full of emotion and spice. Read the triggers as there is an attempted SA. Its brief. It’s a fun read as you never know what our heroine will come up with next.

🏞️ While instalove isn’t typically my favorite trope, I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two! Their reactions to each other and their spice were perfection.
🏞️ Seeing Tilly, Drew, and Hotdog (from Lustre Lost) return in this novella was amazing; we’re able to watch them continue to live out their HEA. 🩵

What is it about a broody man? I am so drawn to books with a super grumpy, moody man. Murphy is happy to be left alone in his cabin in the mountains. Then storm Blyth rolls in.

Blyth is determined to get Murphy to the wedding of her best friend, Tilly and Murphy's military buddy, Drew. Murphy does not want to go because he hates flying and it's been so long since he's seen Drew that it will be awkward.

However, Blyth is not one to take no for an answer, and she and Murphy go on a road trip (complete with some car games as a diversion...)

This book was a quick read, but wow, it was super spicy!

Books written by Ellie Lukas are always full of amazing story, well developed characters, fun banter, and spicy spice. I really enjoyed Chasing Lustre. Murphy is moody/grumpy to Blyth’s crazy unhinged/sunshine. I love their banter so much. He has isolated himself to keep his peace while struggling with his inner demons. She is a fierce storm of chaos and is bound and determined to make sure her friends wedding goes off without a hitch. What a whirlwind of a relationship combusts when these two collide and I mean literally collide. The spice is intense, passionate, and beautifully written. Per usual Ellie Lucas has written another amazing romance that I highly recommend.

Good enough

I liked it. I didn't love it but I liked it enough. I was bothered by something though. Murphy lives a basically a life of solitude and even says how no one in town would come to his house when he sees Blyth's car yet he has a whole strip of condoms on the ready to have sex when he even said he didn't need or want a woman in his life?!?! He didn't get to run out after meeting her so why have the condoms & if he randomly keeps them just in case how do they know they are still good?!?! It irks me when in books loner grumpy men that have no desire to be with a woman suddenly pull condoms out of thin air.
