This was a really good read. There was a lot going on that made you wonder how is the hea ever going to happen, which made finding out that much better. Not a lot of sex, but it definitely fit the story, and there was lots of tension. The hero and heroine both grew a lot in the story and their romance was nice.

Modern day Mia is in a terrible toxic relationship and has just found out she’s pregnant. She’s looking for an escape from her awful boyfriend when a norn appears as an old lady in a hospital and transports her to Norway in 875 AD. Where she falls into the hands of a Viking warrior.

Ironically, Hakon the Beast, is looking grumpy hateful and feeling vengeful. He has agreed to marriage with his enemy’s daughter. When he goes to collect her- he finds modern day Mia and believes her to be his bride.

Mia is forced to marry Hakon but ultimately ends up feeling safe next to him after surviving her ex Dan.

As she settles into her new life as a Viking- the entire village breaks out in what is known as whooping cough- and it just so happens that Mia was a doctor before her toxic ex boyfriend forced her to quit her job. She soon finds her purpose/calling in the Viking village as the village healer. She settles into the Viking lifestyle and learns to love Hakon.

I really enjoyed the unplanned pregnancy trope of book one- and was excited to find this book is also pregnancy trope. I somehow found myself enjoying this one just as much as the first one- but this time around I felt more invested in the characters? I feel like the characters were more balanced.

Again- this isn’t a deep historical dive (which I prefer) but reads more like a contemporary romance. It’s mindless reading. Nothing deep here. Some of the time travel information is far fetched to me but I don’t care. This is simply a fun Norse read.

Mia transported through time to the Viking village where Jaarl king Hakon rules….
Mia had been in an abusive relationship where she was desperately trying to escape a man that brutalised her, threatened her and now wanted her child she would not allow this but never would have expected to find help across time.
He had seen the woman he believed to be his agreed wife and as she appeared in the centre of the circle by the rune stone he had seen the bear chasing her down, obvious blood lust for the small golden haired beauty running away, he had pulled her across his mounts back and ridden away with her.
As they began their less than ideal life together, he discovers that like his mother she is not afraid that he carries a curse, she is also an excellent healer that has arrived at a fortuitous time as both the children, babies and adults are showing the devastating signs of whooping cough. During the weeks she treats the patients and she waits for Hakon to discover her true identity; she has fallen in love with him yet he has asked nothing from her however, she’s aware that her baby’s life depends on this huge Viking who has taken her into his home.
As the story progresses it becomes apparent that somewhere in the stars it seems that Hakon and Mia have their history written in the very stars and she realises that she wants nothing more than to return to the arms of her Viking and he realises that his little bird was a traveller through time and he decided to attempt to follow her frail, imagine his surprise when he arrives in the twenty-first century.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

It's not often I finish reading a book and then want to start all over again because I found it soooo good! I absolutely loved this story and found it very different from the usual time travel romance. First of all, Mia is pregnant and when she arrives in Norway, in the year 874, she meets Hakon, the Jarl of his village and he mistakes her for his enemy's daughter he has agreed to marry. Mia has to make quick decisions to do whatever it takes to keep her baby safe. Having been studying to be a pediatrician, Mia manages to save the Viking village from a "whooping cough" epidemic!!

My heart went out to Hakon….he is known as the Beast because of his birthmark around one eye and believes himself cursed so he does everything possible to keep people away from him. It doesn't take long before Mia sees right through him and the two soon fall in love but her secrets may be too big to overcome.

When the real daughter of his enemy arrives and her secrets are all out, Mia manages to go back to the future and here's another unusual part of the story....Hakon ends up following her and finds her in the future!! There's a twist to the story near the end and my heart was in my mouth until all was well again!!

Mia got mixed up with a Mafia Boss without realising it until it was too late. He forced her to stop training as a paediatrician and become arm candy. She finally convinced him to end their relationship on ly to discover she is pregnant. The day before she is due to run, he finds her at the hospital and drag her out. A little old lady gives her and out! It doesn’t sound like much, but she grabs it with both hands. Once she grabs the spindle the old lady gives her, she blacks out then finds herself in a ring of stones being chased by a bear.
Hakon hates the King but agrees to marry his daughter on the condition that she comes to him, alone on the summer solstice, and meets at the sacred stones. He arrives to see his intended bride being chased by a bear so her scoops her up and rides home with her. He tells her that if she isn’t his bride to be, she is an imposter and will be put to death. So, of course, she says that she is his bride!
There are lies on both sides, and these must be addressed before they can stand a chance. Others conspire to part them, but fate has not finished with them yet!
Absolutely loved this story. Mia learns to be strong and to stick up for herself and Hakon learns there is more to life than revenge.

What a great story! This is a true page turner. Mia is a doctor who only needs to complete 2 years of residency to get her license. She starts dating a man who turns out to be a Mafia boss and Dan is very mean to her. She then realizes that she is pregnant and Dan has decided that she is not going to leave him as he wants his child and swears to never let her go. A Norn is watching the argument when Dan has found her to take her back to his place. She sends Mia back in time to the early age of the Vikings! Hakon is waiting for the appearance of his future bride who is the daughter of his enemy. When Mia suddenly He grabs her and takes her to his village. Mia realizes that he thinks she is someone else, but decides to go along with being the Princess to protect her baby. When she arrives in the village she realizes that a whooping cough epidemic is going on and her training and instincts kick into gear to try to save them.
She and Hakon are married and she learns that the villagers all consider him the Beast because of a birthmark on his face. Can she heal him too? Can she change the villagers outlook toward him? This is a fantastic book. I really love how the characters are developed and how well some broken hearts are mended. You will not be disappointed

In The Marriage of Time, by Mariah Stone, Mia is a modern woman in need of a rescue, and in a hurry. Her ex boyfriend/mafia boss just found out she is pregnant and is dragging her back to his lair. Help can come from strange places and in strange ways. After a brief interaction with an old woman, she finds herself outside a Viking village, threatened by a bear, an grabbed by a Viking as he thunders by on horseback. Shocking, but she an her baby seem to be safe, for now.

Hakon “The Beast” believes he is cursed. He has been told so since he was born. After a defeat in battle, he agrees to meet a daughter of the king the next summer in the secret grove and then to marry her. This happens to be the very day Mia arrives after touching a golden spindle.

Both Mia and Hakon have bad histories, trust issues and secrets of their own. Do they have it in them to look for the happy ending neither believes they can have?

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was varied with a lot of surprises and a complicated arc that kept my interest. The dialog is engaging and the mythology seems to be well-researched. I recommend this book.

I received an advance copy of this book. My opinions are, as always, my own and freely given.

In The Marriage of Time, Mariah Stone has woven a magnificent tale of destiny and freewill. Written beautifully with lots of unusual twists and turns, the plot moves along holding the reader enthralled right up to ending.

The main characters, Mia and Hakon share an incredible romance and sizzling chemistry. Two strong characters but broken people who learn to trust one another and find healing and love in the process. The characters are so beautifully created and the author's descriptions so real that I imagined myself a part of the story.

Mariah has the ability to evoke so many emotions in the reader at once. This was a real page-turner that I could not have put down had I tried. I loved every minute of it and look forward to more.

Thank you Mariah Stone for the absolute pleasure of reading such a lovely story. I received a copy of this book via booksprout.

Another winner by this author. Other people will tell you the story. I can Not right as well as she does. Therefore I will tell you about the characters and the emotions the story evokes. Strong characters, both male and female. Characters you grow to love-characters you detest. Emotions? This book is filled with emotions. You’ll want to cry but you will understand why it is necessary. You will want to step in and shake the characters to make him do what is right. Finally when they do “get it on “you’ll be ready to cheer. Romance that you can feel. An unusual ending. Typical to the great writer she is.

I think everyone in his life wants to go back in time ..... but 1100 years is a very big step!

I thought it was a wonderful story that I read in one go. The story of Mia and Hakon is beautifully told and displayed so realistic that I easily sunk into the book. Not only the female role is well written out emotionally but also that of the man. I sometimes miss that in novels I read. That a man can also be vulnerable and make choices that can lead to heartache. Fortunately it is a book with an HEA. I will now quickly read the other books in this series .....

Mariah has not failed us again. Another thrilling time travel story. The way she can weave our hearts around the characters and their situations is pure talent.
I found my heart breaking for Hakon and the pain he has held in his heart for so long. The way the Mia sees him and falls in love with the part of him that nobody else understands was just so very sweet.
I recommend this story if you love time travel and Vikings.
May I just mention the covers to Mariah's books. These men are gorgeous on her covers. I prefer them to the constant pictures of the women.

This was truly a beautiful story of two people who help each other to find peace in themselves through the centuries and it the process, perhaps find true love.
Boston, 2019. Mia is try to protect her unborn child from her mafia boyfriend by running away. He finds her in the hospital and tries to force her return to him, she mouths the word HELP to an old lady knitting this just happens to be a Norn, who transports her back in time, where she meets Hakon the Beast!
Norway, 874. Hakon the Beast has offered to marry the daughter of his enemy, the King. He is so obsessed with trying to get revenge on the man who killed his mother, he expects to feel nothing for his bride.
Will Hakon get his revenge? Will Mia really find peace? All will be revealed.

Entertaining, warm-hearted time travel tale. Mia and Hakon must let go of their pasts before they can secure their future. Can they have a life together when secrets abound? These two characters are so realistic, that I felt I was a part of their story. I am enjoying this series.

After a bit of a rocky start that had Mia transported to ancient Scandinavia where she met (sort of) Hakon , she was feeling a bit sick she threw up all over poor Hakon. The reason she threw up was because she was pregnant by a maffia boss, After many lies of omission on both their parts, they still fell madly in love. When Mia's lies finally were all laid bare and she found out Hakon's secret she was hoping that she could return to 2019. She succeeded but she was soon realized that she and her son would be better off with Hakon. The Norn helped her get back and they lived HEA

“Do not look at me as if Loki stole my mind,”

Mia just wants to get away from her abusive ex. When her plan to leave town blows up in her face she gets an unlikely offer to go somewhere he can't find her.

Hakon is used to people being terrified of the very sight of him... so how is it this woman acts like he doesn't wear the mark of his curse on his very face?

This done in one stand alone kindle unlimited book is an interesting read about the deceptive quality of appearances, rumors and fears. The underlying truth holds the power -- and you never know when it is going to lead to crushing heartbreak, or reveal a heart of gold concealed beneath a fierce warriors reputation.

What I loved about Mia was her inner strength, and her resolve as she realized how little Hakon's people truly knew him.
