Just finished reading through this book.
I highly recommend this introduction to the Russian language. It seems to get all the basics down (verb conjugations, declensions, and general grammar). The exercises are good and the reading passages are manageable for beginners, minus a few which left me running to my Russophone friends. On a handful of occasions there were words in the reading passages which did not appear in the listed vocabulary, but that's a minor irritant.
In short, students who are making their first effort at Russian would do well to choose this book.

Ik heb op de middelbare school Russisch gehad en haal met dit boek oude kennis op die uiteraard grotendeels vergeten is.

Elk hoofdstuk begint met korte teksten waarvan de audiofragmenten te downloaden zijn. Hierna komen een woordenlijst, uitgebreide grammatica en oefeningen. De oefeningen bestaan uit grammaticale oefeningen en het vertalen van zinnen; de sleutel staat achterin het boek. Verder valt te zeggen dat de opmaak van het boek overzichtelijk en eenvoudig maar mooi is met zelfs enkele illustraties.
