Close and Destroy

Rate this book
The
mission…is to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver,
or repel the enemy's assault by fire and close combat.
 - Excerpt from Marine Corps Reference Publication 3-10A.4

Windsor Kraft Strategies is a shadow empire in the murky world of private intelligence and corporatized warfare. Their "Special Mission Troops," staffed by former military operators and intelligence specialists, are able to discreetly deliver surgical force around the globe, making them a silent partner in American foreign policy.

In the failing nation-state of Daristan, NATO’s long-running counterinsurgency campaign begins to falter when the country’s fundamentalist spiritual leader returns from exile with an army of devout fighters – and covert support from foreign agents looking to upset the balance of world power.

A token force of international peacekeepers, propped up by the Special Mission Troops and their local guerilla units, try to hold the line as coalition governments scramble to shore up exit plans amid the shockwave of violence.

Windsor Kraft’s team must begin evacuating their clients while attempting to stall the newly energized insurgent offensive. But with the clock ticking, the country collapsing, and a hidden enemy hunting them behind the scenes, they must choose between mission accomplishment and self-preservation, or risk being abandoned behind enemy lines by the government that hired them.

Excellent!

I know it is fiction, but it's a awesome account of the effed-up withdrawal from Afghanistan. As I read the Forward, and start to read the first couple of chapters, it really seemed like this story was paralleling the Afghanistan withdrawal. I found it very well written, and very entertaining! And for the record, for those of you that read the acknowledgments, I finished it in less than 48 hours.
I really hope Mr.Marshall continues writing more books!

AWESOME READ!!

This book is for fans of Greany, Flynn, Thor, Clancy, etc. It has been awhile since I found a new author that wrote a book that me saying by the end of the first chapter "I hope this guy has out out ten more so that I don't have to wait for another one of his novels to come out."

This is an excellent read! Not over the top, but enough action to wet my whistle.

Well dkme, sir. Well done. Now get.to writing!

This was such a fun book to read!! Felt like was reading/watching 13 Hours The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi mixed with the drawdown of Afghanistan. This book was full of action. The author Tom Marshall knows what he's talking about. He knows the military lingo and tactics. Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good military action thriller. Can't wait to see more from Windsor Kraft

I liked the flow

The way the narrator spoke made the story feel real, not just a military type book, but made you understand that this was mundane while at the same time heart stopping conflict. No super heros, just real life.
Hope there are more stories to come.

The story is great. I think it’s clear this is drawn from real-world experience. There are several typos and mis-spellings throughout the book, to include the main characters name being misspelled..which I thought was odd. Overall, it left me hoping he writes a series with this character.

Modern and murky espionage novel about special mission troops operating around the world. Reads very well without being over the top.

Fantastic!

This novel was 10/10. It was the perfect blend suspense and action. The realism was on point and I want to thank Mr. Tom Marshall for this wonderful story and the signed copy of the paperback. I look forward to other Windsor Kraft stories.
