From best selling author Mackenzy Fox comes the highly anticipated MC spin-off series from the Bracken Ridge
NOLA Rebels MC - (New Orleans Series Book 9)
Riot is a gritty, tattooed sweet talker, ex-military biker romance with a confident, plus-size heroine who loves dogs.
Riot
I thought my nightmare had ended
I thought I was a free man
Not just because of her;
Halo
The woman who stole my heart
A heart that I thought was dead inside
Unable to open up
Unable to love
But I was wrong
She lights me up in ways I never thought possible
And just when I thought I’d found my forever
In the blink of an eye
It all changed
They stole my light
And now I’m out for vengeance
Halo
I didn’t know men could be like him
I’d only ever known jerks
But then the unexpected happened
For a brief moment, I felt it
That thing you’re supposed to feel
When everything aligns
When you allowed yourself a brief glance
At what it feels like to be happy
I never wanted anything else
Just him
But life threw a curve ball
One that I never saw coming
Now I have to fight
Find my way back to him
Before it’s too late
The men of the NOLA Rebels MC will do anything for their club. They’re a brotherhood, a club who stands mighty, and above all else, they take care of business, New Orleans style.
The bikers may rule this city, but the women of the club have their hearts, and the men will do anything to protect what’s theirs.
It is part of a series, but can be read stand-alone with a HEA. This book is recommended for mature readers
Mackenzy Fox is an author of M.C. badass and contemporary enemies to lovers themed romance novels. When she’s not writing she loves vegan cooking, walking her beloved pooch’s, reading books and is an expert on online shopping. She’s slightly obsessed with drinking tea, testing bubbly Moscato, watching home decorating shows and has a black belt in origami. She strives to live a quiet and introverted life in Western Australia’s North West with her hubby, twin sister and her dogs.
As all books in this series this one is spicy and fun to read. I rated this one lower than others in this series because it felt very unfinished. The whole situation was kinda weird if I can say that. First Riot was the one in trouble this time and not the girl, I am fine with that. But this one didn’t show any of Riot skills and how they do things in the MC, actually the whole book is basically just them both, Riot and Halo in the bedroom or taking care of the dog. Very little interaction with the MC, very little action, he is the one that get really hurt, they don’t catch the culprit, Halo makes a lot “promises and treats” of how she’ll revenge him but nothing happens and she ends the book pregnant. Cute but how she’ll carry any revenge now is my question? The book brought what the others did in terms of spice and bad biker but soft for the girl. But the story really lacked this time. That was so much she could’ve explore and she didn’t. Also Hallo is wayyyyyyyyyyy too sweet, no spunk, not much of a personality. Besides her dirty mouth and the banter they both have that was fun, nothing else is remarkable. Coming from a book like Nevada where I wasn’t expecting much but was surprised with a very cool story, I was disappointed by this one. But I am excited for Manny ! Let’s see….
Another super addicitng installment to the NOLA Rebels MC series! I could not get enough of these two. Their chemistry and dirty talk banter was next level. Mackenzy knows how to keep her readers on their toes, I found myself easily immersed into this dangerous world and close knit, made family. Riot grew up with a very traumatic past, never imagining he would ever find someone who would accept him for who he is and look past his wrong doings. He knew the instant he met Halo that there was a major connerction. Halo moved to New Orleans not too long ago, to get some distance from her controlling family. When she met Riot, she too felt an instant connection that was undeniable. When these two finally throw their hesitancy and fears to the wind, their chemistry had me absolutely melting into a puddle. Their story is instalove mixed with danger, and secrets of the past. I loved how these two would do or endure anything for the other. This book was excellent, engaging and left me wanting more. Fantastic! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You’re gonna need an ice bath during and after this one. Riot is my favorite hero on this series so far. He is so sweet and loving. He’s also a total trip.
“Looks like they sent the welcomin’ party pooper parade.”
Halo is a beautiful innocent soul. She’s been treated horribly by her blood family. Riot looks at her and know a she’s his one and only.
This one has some suspense and a lot of steam. The whole club is back and the character interaction is hilarious. Manny is getting his own book next and oh boy I can’t wait.
I had mixed feelings about Riot (the book, not the character!). I really enjoyed the preceding book in the series (Nevada) and have very much enjoyed other books by the author but this one just didn't quite grab me the same way. Maybe it was the instalust/love which isn't really my thing, or Riot's assertion that Halo isn't like other girls because she doesn't sleep around and he finds that hot (err, caveman much?), or just that I cannot find the word 'titties' sexy in any scenario and Riot REALLY likes Halo's big boobs...
Having said all that - which frankly is all a me thing, I did like Riot's loyalty and his adoration of Halo's curves and I also enjoyed finding out more about his backstory and why he became a sniper. The scenes with Cookie the dog were also extremely sweet. And it was fun catching up with other members of the crew again, especially Nevada and Estelle, especially during the suspense storyline - though here it felt like the villain came out of left-field and this never really got resolved.
Overall, while I enjoyed chunks of the book, I think my biggest issue (and I can't believe I'm going to say this because, believe me, I like it spicy) was that there were just too many steamy moments breaking up the story and taking away from the rest of the narrative so I struggled to stay focused and interested. So this is a 2.5 stars rounded up to a 3 for me. I am, however, really looking forward to Manny's book as he's such a cheeky character!
This book was hot! I swear thought my phone was going to explode! Right f/the start Riot & Halo had instant chemistry & I really liked their flirty banter. Riot was sexy as hell, but holy hotness, Halo & her dirty talking mouth had me loving her even more. I loved seeing a FMC that could dirty talk just like her man. This girl knew what she wanted when it came to sex & was confident to demand it & it was the sexiest thing ever. It was great seeing her shock Riot w/her dirty mouth. Her calling Riot “Daddy” was the best! Riot & Halo couldn’t have been written better. I loved every time Riot called her “Kitten”, & I especially enjoyed how once he saw Halo that was it. He wanted no one else & was willing to wait for her to come around. And of course Manny stole the show too! I laughed when he called Riot a geriatric! And his group convo w/the ladies when they were telling him all of his great features had me busting out laughing. I can’t believe we’re already at book 9. This series is flying by & I’m going to miss it so much when it’s over. Mackenzy has written these guys PERFECTLY. They fight for club like they love & protect their women- hardcore, and it’s the best damn thing! This book was easily one of my favorite in the series. It had an enormous amount of OTT spicy scenes, drama and suspense- it was perfection! Next up is Manny & I think I’m most excited for his!
Tropes: 🏍️MC Romance 🔥Tattooed sweet talker 🏍️Plus sized heroine 🔥Hero’s past comes back to haunt him 🏍️Hero used to be a sniper 🔥Watches her to keep her safe 🏍️Her nickname is “kitten” 🔥Look at her & die 🏍️Both fall fast 🔥Escaping a forced marriage
The spice in this book was hot hot hot! 🔥😍🫠
This is my first motorcycle romance and I am hooked. I will definitely be reading the first 8 books in this series.
Riot is a biker with the NOLA Rebels MC with a troubled past and falls hard for Halo who has escaped her home town after her parents attempted to force her into an arranged marriage.
The chemistry, banter and dirty talk between these 2 main characters is so good. He calls her ‘Kitten’ and she calls him ‘Daddy’. 😮💨
Riot is the ultimate over protective, macho MC and Halo is sweet and loving but still has some sass and attitude.
They face some unexpected bumps in their journey to be together but their love and determination will help them to overcome these obstacles.
This was my first book that I’ve read by Mackenzy Fox and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes an over protective, possessive MMC and the world of MC romance.
Another phenomenal rebel! This author has the ability to suck you into this stories without letting you go. I was obsessed with Riot since the very first page!!!! I love their chemistry since Nevada’s book and I just knew I was going to eat this up like popcorn! Halo and Riot are just perfect for each other! He is the possessive, obsessed with her curves, cinnamon roll! She is the curvy girl feeling being seen for the first time in her life by this tattoo crazy and 🌶️ boy! She is escaping a marriage of convenience and running from her crazy family. But with a man like Riot? She has nothing to worry about, that’s until, well…….. you need to read the story!!! This is one of my favorite stories in the Nola rebels world. I know, I say the same thing about every book, what can I say? How can I choose? and Manny’s book? That’s going to leave me breathless too! Absolutely recommend this whole series! What are you waiting for?
Thank you Mackenzy and the author agency for always letting me read them in advance! I’m too impatient to wait ❤️🔥🔥🫠
First off, thank you so much to Mackenzy Fox and The Author Agency for sending me the ARC. I really appreciate it. With that said, I’m not sure I really liked this book. I mean the characters are great but I’m not the biggest fan of the insta-love trope.
This was also the first biker romance I read. And is funny that there is only one scene in this book where the character is actually riding a bike. Not sure if that’s normal or not. I’ll need to read more biker club romances to find out.
Besides the above two things, everything else was pretty much the expected. The steamy scenes, the cheesy ones, the ones where the MMC is being very “morally gray” or “alpha male”. Things like that, you know.
I’m not saying the book is bad. It’s great. But just not great enough for me.
Our curvy girl Halo is an angel and has the kindest heart. She is the support system which was very much needed in Riot’s life. The book covers up Riot’s story beautifully from start to finish, with snippets of the past and all of his experiences.
Mackenzy knows how to show emotions which I felt with every line while reading. It’s a hard journey for the characters, to be at a place where they are currently and that includes lots of insecurities too. A good surrounding with supporting people heals everything.
I enjoyed reading the book and the ending was fabulous. This type of ending always wins my heart, I am a sucker for them. ‘Cookie’ our pet in the book is super cute and his senses are impressive. He seems to have a great sixth sense.
The spice in the book is mouth-watering and is intense. Riot and Halo won my heart with their cuteness and passiveness for each other. Additionally, I’ll be looking forward to Manny’s story in the future, he is a real sweetheart and I want to see him upfront as a main character.
I really wanted to like this book, but it just wasn’t working for me. I had to call it quits at around 10%. The dialogue was just too cringy and felt forced, which made it hard to connect with the characters or the story. And honestly, I’m at a point in life where I refuse to force myself through a book that feels like a chore. Maybe it gets better, but I couldn’t stick around to find out. It’s a no from me.
What you will find inside... 🏍️MC Romance 🔥Tattooed sweet talker 🏍️Plus sized heroine 🔥Hero’s past comes back to haunt him 🏍️Hero used to be a sniper 🔥Watches her to keep her safe 🏍️Her nickname is “kitten” 🔥Look at her & die 🏍️Both fall fast 🔥Escaping a forced marriage
This was my first book I read by Mackenzy and I am HOOKED! This was sooooo good! I couldnt put it down. And there’s bikers??? Sign me up!
The chemistry between Riot and Halo was holy moly off the charts! It was insta love between the two of them and the spice was HOT HOT HOT. And they were so lovable and they’re dog people. I just want to hug them both.
I loved the little surprise at the end! It was so sweet.
What can I say that I already haven't... these NOLA Rebel men are a whole other level. Each time I don't think I could live another one more than the last Mackenzy & Dakotah are like but wait... have you meant RIOT!?! This MMC is everything you would think of when you hear the term MC bad boy. And then you get his gut wrenching backstory and you fall even more in love with him. And his mouth... lawd this man can dirty talk! The FMC Halo is an absolute sweetheart and can hold her own...and she gives him a run for his money! They are from opposite sides of the track but you know what they say about opposites. Add in some off the charts chemistry, a rescue dog, and one adorable stuffed otter. You have yourself another incredible NOLA Rebel's couple!
Such an awesome read. I absolutely loved Riot and Halo’s story ❤️❤️❤️ All the members of NOLA Rebels MC and their families are a wonderful characters in every book of this series. This couple had some wicked chemistry, some very hot 🔥 scenes. A bit of drama and danger thrown in as expected from the MC troupe. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 🔥😎🖤
Riot by Mackenzy Fox is a gripping, emotional, and intense ex-military biker romance that delves into themes of redemption, loyalty, and love. The story follows Riot, a gritty, tattooed member of the NOLA Rebels MC, who believes his heart has long been closed off to love. That is, until he meets Halo—a confident, plus-size heroine whose warmth and strength reignite his ability to feel. The romance between Riot and Halo forms the emotional backbone of the story, but it’s also steeped in suspense as external forces threaten to tear them apart.
Riot is a well-crafted character who embodies the hardened biker persona with a deeply vulnerable side. He’s lived through nightmares, and his time in the military has left him scarred, both physically and emotionally. Yet, Halo is the one who brings light into his life, offering him a chance at redemption and happiness. Mackenzy Fox does a great job of depicting Riot’s transformation—from a man hardened by his past to someone who dares to open his heart again.
Halo is a standout character in her own right. Confident and resilient, she’s not just another love interest but a woman with her own struggles and strengths. Her journey is just as important as Riot’s, and Mackenzy Fox expertly balances their individual growth with their evolving relationship. Halo’s confidence and her love for dogs add layers to her character, making her relatable and endearing. Her bond with Riot feels genuine and deep, highlighting how opposites can come together and heal each other’s wounds.
What sets Riot apart from typical biker romances is its emotional depth. The novel tackles heavy themes like loss, trauma, and the quest for vengeance, which are woven into the romance. Just when Riot and Halo seem to have found happiness, a devastating event pulls them apart, sending Riot on a mission of revenge. The sense of danger and urgency adds a thrilling layer to the narrative, keeping readers on edge as they root for the couple to reunite.
The supporting characters, particularly the NOLA Rebels MC, provide a strong backdrop to the story. The sense of brotherhood and loyalty among the bikers is palpable, and the men’s protectiveness over their women adds to the novel’s gritty yet heartfelt tone. The club’s motto of “taking care of business, New Orleans style” encapsulates the raw, no-nonsense approach they take to protecting their own.
Mackenzy Fox’s writing style is raw and intense, perfectly suited to the gritty world of motorcycle clubs. The steamy romance is well-balanced with the action-packed plot, making the novel an exciting yet emotional read. The vivid setting of New Orleans adds atmosphere and charm, further immersing readers in the world of the NOLA Rebels.
Overall, Riot is a standout in the ex-military biker romance genre. With its compelling characters, high-stakes plot, and emotional intensity, it’s a story about fighting for love and reclaiming one’s light even in the darkest of times. Mackenzy Fox delivers a thrilling and passionate romance that will appeal to fans of gritty, heart-wrenching love stories. Though part of a series, Riot can be read as a standalone with a satisfying happily-ever-after, making it a must-read for mature audiences looking for a powerful and emotional ride.
You all know how much I love Mackenzy Fox! Her books are amazing and always are full of steamy, sexy men and Riot is no exception so that’s why he is my pick for Snack Saturday!
This is another epic read from this series! It captivates you and enthralls you in a suspenseful, spicy, gripping story. You’ll be sucked into this world and be like me and never want to leave it. This group of bikers will have you in a puddle on the floor and I am totally 💯 thrilled that we got Riots story! The heat and chemistry coming off of these two characters is off the charts!
We got our first glimpse in Nevada’s book and I was not so patiently waiting for this book! I knew with the low blaze of fire that was burning in the book that their story we become an inferno.
Halo and Riot are so perfect. He is obsessed and so possessive about her but he is also a huge marshmallow inside of the rough exterior. He fiercely loves and protects what he loves- the club, his sister, Charles, and Halo… oh and we cannot forget Cookie!
Halo is such a phenomenal character she’s a little bit insecure but she’s also so strong with leaving a bad situation and making her own way. She is loyal and so kind with a big heart.
This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions the past scenes from his childhood was gut wrenching! Their banter and their co parenting Cookie was so cute. I loved how she wanted to help support him and find something to help with his nightmares! I was like awwww… so much about this book had me doing little happy dances or squealing in delight! I devoured this book quickly like I do with all of her books!
I really loved the twists and turns that Mackenzy did in this one and it still left some things not tied up so I’m sure we’ll see more in the next book… and boy oh boy am I thrilled for the next book! I had reached out to her back on Hawks book begging for Manny to get his own book and she’s finally delivering it towards in December I think.
You can’t go wrong on where you start in this series since they are basically all stand alones but I can tell you it’s so much better to read them in order and they are all phenomenal, spicy, suspenseful reads!
A couple of my favorite quotes:
"I miss you," she whispers. "I think I would've missed you if we'd never even met."
'It's like she was put on this earth just for me. And I'm gonna treat her like a princess; give her everything that she needs if she'll let me.'
'When Halo agreed to be mine, that meant that my job of protecting her from danger just got all the more real.”
“I lean toward Halo and brush her cheek with my knuckles softly. Just looking at her calms my nerves and soothes my soul. I need her like I need air in my lungs.”
"All of the men and women of the club are like a big family. They all stick together and they don't run away when things get tough."
I thought that it would be a while before someone knocked Nevada off the top of the Nola Rebels standings but look out. Riot came in and took him down quickly and spectacularly.
No slow burn here folks. Riot and Halo are already super hot for each other and they light up and burn up the pages.
Riot is a cinnamon roll hero for sure, but he has all the alpha MC possessive vibes going on to round out his awesome package.
Halo is sweet and tough and despite having had a rough time with her family has never let it tear her down or dull her shine.
These two were absolutely perfect together and I would happily say one of my fav MC couples.
Riot has all the usual MC characteristics, drama, suspense, danger, and plenty of MINE!
If I wasn't already pretty hooked on the rebels the tease for the next book would certainly have me downloading it to my Kindle. Not sure they will knock Riot off his top spot but I think it's going to be a damn good read. . . . Riot fell for Halo just as fast as Nevada fell for Star but with everything that happened getting Tilly back their instant attraction got pushed to the back burner. Not for one moment though has Riot not wanted Halo. Not thought about her. Craved her. He's hoping his birthday might be the chance he has to show Halo how much he wants to be more than just friends.
Like a good friend should, Halo was there for Star and Tilly every step after finding Tilly and bringing her home. She doesn't regret one second of it. She just wishes that whatever spark she felt with Riot when they were in Mississippi she could have had a chance to explore. Tonight the club is throwing a party for Riot and Halo hopes to see if that spark is still there. "I miss you," she whispers. "I think I would've missed you if we'd never even met."
Everything that Riot felt when he first saw Halo is there the moment she walks into the clubhouse. If he could he'd throw her over his shoulder and walk right back out with her. He's no idea if Halo is even interested and when she makes it clear she is, he's no longer holding back. 'It's like she was put on this earth just for me. And I'm gonna treat her like a princess; give her everything that she needs if she'll let me.'
Neither could have imagined it would be as good as it is and Riot knows if he wants all of Halo he needs to give her all of him. His past is dark and scary and he doesn't want to scare her away he wants to hold her close and never let her go again. When he learns her ex is now in the same building it sends his protective instincts into overdrive. 'When Halo agreed to be mine, that meant that my job of protecting her from danger just got all the more real.'
When Halo needs to return home suddenly, Riot is by her side as support, and regardless of what her family wants he isn't going anywhere. It might be quick but Halo has been his from that very first night and everyone else just has to get on board. 'I lean toward Halo and brush her cheek with my knuckles softly. Just looking at her calms my nerves and soothes my soul. I need her like I need air in my lungs.'
Despite Halo's family drama, there is a bigger danger stalking them and it could rip Riot and Halo apart before they even get to really begin their happily ever after. With the NOLA Rebels at their back though they have a chance to live through it all. "All of the men and women of the club are like a big family. They all stick together and they don't run away when things get tough."
FMC: Halo (aka Lourdes) MMC: Riot (aka Myles) Tropes: mc romance, morally grey mmc, touch her/look at her and die, plus-sized curvy fmc, cinnamon roll for fmc, family issues Spice Rating: 4 Series: Yes - Book Nine of the NOLA Rebels MC Series Cliffhanger: No
This was a new to me author. If you haven’t noticed, I like to try at least a few new authors each month. It's even better if they have an arc available for sign-up that sounds like something I would enjoy!
So let’s get into it!
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those who love an MC romance with a dangerous, tattooed MMC who is a softie for the FMC. I enjoyed daddy riot. He can dirty talk with the best of them. Halo is more on the sweeter and shy side, but don’t let that fool you. She can be pretty bold and direct when she wants.
The story is intriguing. The story will have you hooked and the spice will have you in a chokehold. Like holy hot stuff!
The author does a good job of providing some history, character descriptions, and background information. But, I will say I felt a little lost and confused a few times when it came to knowing who some of the characters were and their backstory. The book summary does suggest this book can be read as a standalone. However, I hadn’t taken into account that this is book #9 in the series and that this series is also a spin-off from another series by this author. It was poor planning on my part and just something to keep in mind.
My opinion is with the number of mc brothers and ol’ ladies it would be better to read some of the earlier books in the series. That way it’s easier to grasp who each of the characters are and how they are connected before jumping into this one.
The story also moves quickly. These characters fall hard and fast for each other…except it’s not their first time meeting. Riot and Halo have known each other for a few months. This is their story about finding their way together and exploring the connection they both feel.
Holy Guacamole, this was Spicy!! Mackenzy is an easy yes for me, I love all her books, This is book 9 in the Nola Rebels MC series. If you haven't started this series, I highly recommend it. Each book gets better than the last and this one just might be my favourite. Riot is my favourite MC now. For a big tattooed guy he is so soft, caring, loving and just absolutely amazing in every way possible. He does have a horrid past that has led him to do certain things. This is all in the past and now he is just loving being part of the MC family. We met Halo in Nevada's book as she was Star's best friend. She met Riot then too. She is from a rich family that has arranged marriage of convenience for her so she left and moved with Star. I loved how much strength she showed to leave and live for herself. She is a curvy woman and it's not always been pleasant with her exs. She is funny, smart cute and bubbly. These 2 were made for each other. Their story already began from previous Book, so I really liked how it kind of continuous from that and they go straight into their new found relationship. I loved how vulnerable Riot was with her and gave his all. He may be all cinnamon roll but look or touch his woman and you will regret it. It was all going too well then her past and his past comes and tries to destroy it all. Those ast 2 chapters really got my heart panicking for them. If you know me, you will know I love a man that loves b**bs. He was 100 % breast man and it was super hot, I mean like definitely get you wet hot haha. This had all the hearts, text banter, found family, humour, drama and spice. It is definitely a read again for me. I can't believe we will finally get Manny's story.
“My baby does need some sleep, because when I wake you up, I’m going to f*ck you all over again for keepin’ me waitin’ all these months.”
"Suckling her t*ts is my new favorite hobby. I could suck those bad boys all day long."
“If I find out he even had one f*ckin’ vile thought about you, I’ll rip the cords from his voice box.”
I don’t read enough MC romances and that is really a shame. I really can’t believe that there have been eight previous books in this series, and this is the first one I’ve read. The characters in this book had amazing chemistry and reading them together was just 🥵. I enjoy an insta love story but I also love when the characters’ journey is so filled with emotion. This makes for such a compelling and entertaining story that makes you want to continue to read. I also love a story where the characters seem real. I love a curvy FMC and an MMC that has to battle his own insecurities. This book was such a great read and I so enjoyed being able to read such a great MC romance.
Riot was the perfect motorcycle club MC. On the outside, he is tattooed, gritty, and closed off. He is scarred and trying to deal with his past in the military. He doesn’t think that love will ever be in his future. But then Halo enters his life and everything changes. She is confident but not without her own struggles. How can I not love a strong, dirty talking, plus sized FMC? These two made the story and I loved reading their journey of growth, both individually and together. Of course these two fell for each other so quickly. They compliment each other so well and I wanted to keep reading just to get more of these two.
This book was such a great MC romance. It gave me everything that I love in reading these stories and it gave me such amazing characters. The MCs were perfection, and the rest of the side characters were such great additions to the story. The spiciness in this book really just made it that much more enjoyable. My biggest complaint is that I now have to go back and read the rest of this series because I enjoyed this so much. If they are anything like this one, I know I will enjoy them as well.
I loved Halo and Riot back in Nevada's book. i was happy to see they were getting their own book.
The queen chat omg 🤣🤣🤣 love it, and I definitely need more of it.
They fell hard and fell fast. Their connection was meant to be. Like they say, you can't help who you fall in love with ❤️
Riot is such a sweet man, he had a shit start to life after what his sperms donor done i don't blame him one bit for taking the fucker out. He saved him self and his sister and they got to live there lives with the most kindest man to raise em, Charles gave them the fighting chance they both needed.
Riot god damn that man has a dirty mouth on him 😳. I swear all the men do when it come to there woman, they way they speak to em, lord help me 🥵. He brought out Halos dirty side to cos omfg this book was full of so much sex and depravity and I freaking loved all of it. Those two are damn rabbits I swear lol 😆.
Halos what can i say about this amazing woman, who fought to be were she is, to find her own way in life and get away from her controlling parents who tried to marry her off to some misogynistic prick whom i was very happy to read riot beat the shit out of lol. She deserved to finally to be with someone who truly loved her and appreciated all of her, lumps, bumps, curves and all she is a beautiful and kind woman body and sole, Riot helped her to love her body he showed her he did time and time again 😍. Don't even get me started on the Otta and the scene that followed 🥵🥴 ifykgyk 🤭 Ahhh cookie there dog he's a darling, it was most definitely fated for them to find him and be his forever family. "mummy and daddy" hehe. I loved how involved he was through out the book it was so darn cute.
This book was so good just like the rest, I can not wait to read the next and I'm guessing it's Mannys turn. Cos god know that man deserves to finally find him someone's.
I can't express how much I love this series. I'm so mad that I got into it late. But that's okay. Just means I'll have to start at book one and catch up. Riot and Halo have been adorable since we met them in Nevada (the book not the state lol). I knew these two were going to be so freaking cute! I was not let down at all! These two not only are the cutest little beans, but they rescued a furbaby too! Cookie, you honorary Rebel you.
Myles AKA Riot had been through such a terrible upbringing. Abuse by his own father, resulting in losing his mother and having to kill his father. It's something no child should ever have to suffer. The fact that he did breaks my heart. Halo coming in like the angel she is, otter and all; helps him create the family he's always wished he could have. Show him that he's nothing like his father. Give him the love and support to keep him safe. She's his safe place.
Our little Halo ran away from her overbearing family. With good reasoning. She deserved to live her life on her terms without any judgement. They thought she would do whatever they wanted her to do because of money. It doesn't mean a thing to her. She just wants to be happy. Being in New Orleans has made her happy. And we're totally here for it. She can tell her family to stick it or they can be happy for her. She's able to have that choice. Riot stood by her the entire time. Even refusing a million dollars. His love for her is pure, as is hers. It's so freaking cute.
I love this MC. They're crazy and loyal as can be. I enjoy every story written by Mackenzy. I look forward to reading more from her.
I love this series so much. All of the men in it are absolutely amazing, and I want them all. Riot is book 9 of the series! Riot is an utter dream man, in my opinion. That man is a teddy bear deep down, and I live for it. Fearce to protect the ones he lives, but damn he has a gorgeous soft side.
This book was so good. I loved Halo from the second we met her in book 8, and for her to be paired up with Riot is a match made in heaven. They are so right for each other, how quickly they bonded to each other and just the initial attraction that they had to each other just proved that in my opinion.
I am an absolute sucker for animals in books, and clearly, our characters are as well. The abandonment of our boy Cookie is something that happens daily to animals all around the world. I think that Mackenzy demonstrated this subject beautifully and all of the emotions that come with rescuing an animal. In the books case sharing custody of a suprise pet, I loved the little family relationship that Halo and Riot formed with Cookie the dog(what a great name).
These characters had such a depth to them that you would not expect from looking at them from an outside perspective or through the eyes of another character in this context but I loved getting to know our main characters across this book and can not wait to see them in the next book. I can imagine that we will see abit of fierce protector Riot come out as the next book features his sister, Manny and I am pretty sure I know who our mystery man that completes their three will be.
I can’t even describe how much i have waited for this story. We have follow the start, the flirting, the banter of Riot and Halo all trough Nevadas book and now they finally get their own book and HEA. The anticipation is real!
Riot is kinda like the quiet man, of course he is a part of the brotherhood but he mostly works alone on the side of the jobs because he has a deathly shot. He took out many dangerous people, living in the shadows all through his late teens and early 20s. He offed his dad after the dad offed his mother and tried to shoot his littlesister to. Pure selfdefends, but in his own head Riot is the bad guy. He is fighting a lot of inner demons and now a series of killings in the city points to someone being after him too. But who.?
Tropes in this book: Tattooed sweet talker He calls her “Kitten” Both falls fast Curvy plus size FMC MC romance🏍️🚘 Cinnamon roll to her with a dirty mouth Protective MMC💪🏻 Foster an abandoned dog together🦮🐾 HEA as always 🥰 FMC ran from an arranged marriage
I love the excitement in this book, in the other we kinda had a known enemy but this time it was hidden very well and the excitement and fear for Riot was real. I love his fierce protectiveness of her and worships the queen she is. These two light up the whole world with their fireworks.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed this book. Riot might push the others of their pedistals. Who am I even kidding here. Each of Mackenzy’s men have their own pedistals in my head. My own harem of bookboyfriends from Mackenzy Fox.
Wow! Absolutely brilliant 🥵🥹 I couldn't put Riot down. Mackenzy, this was definitely a read well-worth it 🥹 Thank you so much for the ARC Opportunity ❤️
Myles Curtis, known as Riot is a woman's dream 🥵 Tall, handsome, a biker, kindhearted, thoughtful, blue eyes, a golden retriever, protective, possessive, obsessed, kinky af, can not get enough of his woman - I swear one look from Halo had this man on his knees everytime 😂, and a dirty talking pro! He is one of the sweetest MMC's I've come across, and I couldn't stop loving him. He waited months for a chance with Halo, even though he fell for her at first sight 🥹😭 He faced his demons head on, and that made me so proud of him!
Halo McBride 🥹 She is feisty perfection and equally drove this man up the wall 😂 Beautiful, intelligent, independant, brave, hardworking, shy, kinky, protective, possessive, kindhearted, thoughtful, generous, and crazily in love! She gets along brilliantly with the women at the Biker Club, and Riot and I loved that. She has her own demons to face, which she does, and I was so proud of her. She and Riot are each other's strength, and no one can say otherwise!
These two definitely kept me hooked and engrossed in their story. Their love grew stronger and stronger with each moment, and I was in absolute awe of them. I couldn't put them down, because it was that good! The writing, storyline, characters, and spice was breathtaking 😏 If you haven't picked them up yet, you need to do so asap! You won't regret it. 😏

This is probably one of my new favorite books by Mackenzy Fox. I’ve read a couple of her other Nola Rebel Books and each time they keep getting better! Riot is Book 9 of her NOLA Rebels MC - New Orleans Series.
Riot and Halo are the perfect pair. They legit have off the chart chemistry that is obvious in the previous book and comes to a full head with the start of this book. They are finally going to act on Months of attraction, but one little adorable abandoned puppy later and they are connecting on a whole other level!
Cookie is the force that brings them together finally and the connection that was already there goes from 0 to 60 in seconds. Once they finally spend a night together its END GAME.
Halo is running from a controlling family and arranged marriage, Riot has a past with Demons. Who will be caught in the cross hairs in the thriller that is the MC world… Riot!
That’s all I’m gonna say before I spill too many secrets. But let me leave this here… Riot refuses money to leave Halo. Cookie the pup. Halo’s determination. A Hidden Tracker. MANNY!!! Lol I love it all!
Highly recommend this book especially if you love overly protective Motorcycle men!!! Add to your TBR today!
Thank you @mackenzyfoxbooks and @theauthor.agency for the the ARC.
What to Expect: ••» MC Romance ••» Tattooed Sweet Talker MMC ••» Plus-sized FMC ••» MMC Former Sniper ••» He Givers Her a Nickname ••» Look at Her & Die
This was my first read by this author, and it hooked me right from the prologue. The flashbacks were a great touch, peeling back layers of their history together and apart, showing what shaped them and what’s still simmering beneath the surface.
Halo is sweet, shy, yet bold—a true ride-or-die. Riot? His filthy mouth had me, so here for it! Their back-and-forth is pure gold. Riot’s starved for love, and Halo’s gentle nature just melts him. They balance each other beautifully, with Halo’s softness complementing Riot’s rough edges. I was absolutely hooked.
And let’s not forget Cookie—the cutest! I need a puppy like him. The banter between the old ladies and Manny had me cracking up, too. I could definitely use a supportive group like them. Halo’s family, though—cue the eye roll— were such a piece of work.
The spicy scenes? On point! However, the ending felt a bit rushed and could’ve used more detail, especially when the villain came out of nowhere. Still, the way their relationship developed kept me turning the pages. I’d definitely check out the rest of the series.
Thank you to the author, Mackenzy Fox, and The Author Agency team for the ARC opportunity.
Wow! First off I haven’t had a book written by either of the Fox twins disappoint and this further proves my point. This was so good! I absolutely loved everything about this book it had the perfect amount of spice first off, an engaging plot, suspense, trying to figure out who did what and why, and lovable characters. The MMC Riot (Myles) is a soft hearted man who has been through it with a haunting past that would shatter most. Once he and the MFC spend time together the 2nd time he’s all in that she’s the one and he hopes like hell that can happen. He has so much love to give and a raunchy mouth on him it’s definitely to die for. The MFC Halo is a plus size queen who has built her confidence back up after having left her family home because her family tried to set up an arranged marriage. Her family is wealthy and it was really going to add to the appeal but she wanted no part in it with them. They both definitely came with baggage but it made it all the better. Will his past come back to haunt him? Will they each admit their true feelings? Could she ever forgive her family? And could they really have a happily ever after? I definitely recommend this book and the others in the series as well as The Bassett Brothers Bourbon series. Overall Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice Rating-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
I received this book as an ARC and asked to leave an honest review. Thank you to @mackenzyfoxbooks & @theauthoragency for the opportunity.
↓↓ We've gotten some glimpses of Riot throughout several books in the series but his previous appearances did him no justice. That man has soooo many layers to him. He's sweet when needed, possessive AF, has the biggest heart and will do anything for the ones he loves.
I loved Halo instantly, she's fun, confident, holds her own but sweet as can be and has a heart of gold. There was an instant connection for them and their chemistry, off the chain 🥵 They both have some past trauma but they are there for each other when they need it the most.
I just knew I was going to love these two. I swear this series just gets better and better with each book. I CAN NOT wait for Manny's book next, and those tropes 😮💨 it's going to be gooooooddd
