'The Brigadier' is the third book in Piper Stone's "Brutal Empire" series, and it is a fantastic addition. I found myself captivated by the characters and the intensity of their attraction, which sizzled with chemistry. The mafia theme added even more depth to the story. What's not to love? There are great characters, heat, spankings, dominance, lies, betrayal, danger, family, desire, and even a cute little kid!

It was from one if his ex-girlfriend name Ginger explaining that the child Damien was his and that she needed his to protect him because she had gotten herself in some trouble that was too dangerous for a child.
Damien was four years old and she wouldn't have let him known about him had it not been for her troubles. The news couldn't have come at the worst time for him with all the Bratva's gearing up for a war. It wasn't a just a blast from his past. This was his personal nightmare. She was so scared that she called her dad for help even though she knew that she wasn't in town. Nikolay doesn't have time for his brother because he was having trouble finding a a nanny for his son who the doctor believes has autism. Vissarian called Nikolay and asked for his help to get her safety. He sent two of his two capos to her apartment to bring her to his house. But they were confronted by the perpetrator who was waiting in the alley, a fight ensued and they were able to apprehend him.
Nikolay thought that he would never see her again and when he heard that she ran and could've gotten herself and his men hurt he knew that he had to punish her and gave her a good spanking. Someone is playing a game and out to get the Kuzmin family or the Chernoff Bratva. Chantel was a natural with Damien and Nikolay has never seen him taken to anyone the he did with her. Chantel was the first one to agree with him that his son doesn't have autism that he only needed someone who understood him as well as things to simulate his mind. When I tore Chantel's clothes off on that dark balcony and gave her exactly what she needed, I didn't know the girl screaming her surrender into the night should have been off-limits to me.
Not just because I'm old enough to be her father, or even because my half-brother raised her.

As per standard for Piper’s Mafia Romance stories, it is dark in places, violent at times, passionate in places, full of secrets, loyalties tested and let’s not forget the heat between Nikolay and Chantel. The chemistry between these two are off the page! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Part of the Brutal Empire series hang on don’t blink and you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified possessive, oh so gorgeous, brooding all three makings of a story consisting with the three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, darkness, secrets revealed, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love somewhere along the way! Nikolay sexy as all get out part of the Brutal Empire isn’t a man you want to cross dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day currently his life is a hot mess his son whom he didn’t know existed was dropped on his doorstep, scared, hugging his teddy with a note from his mother explaining why she was forced to leave him and her boys name in hopes he will love him add to that his brother’s step daughter / nanny and that equals a hot mess. Chantel is the stepdaughter is with Nikolay for protection but the magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored the more they try the harder it is to act as if it doesn’t exist add to that a little cutie who misses his mom and just wants a hug, a little play time and that little pesky magnetic pull. The shenanigans these two get into are too funny but why would little man’s mom leave him there what scared her so bad, will they get to the bottom of it, where are two parents headed, and will they find happiness somewhere along the way?

When the party becomes overwhelming, Chantel escapes outside and meets a smoking hot man that has her body humming. The moment that Chantel and Uncle Nikolay, her adopted father’s half brother discover their forbidden moment, it’s all bets off on thinking about any future times. Yet when Chantel’s second day at work blows up in her face, and things go downhill from there, it’s Uncle Nikolay to the rescue. The bond that quickly develops between Chantel and Damien adds a solid foundation that Nikolay can’t deny, yet how to tell his half brother. A much anticipated addition to the Brutal Empire series, more great characters and storyline.
I cannot express how wonderful a read this book was, from the moment I started reading I knew that I was hooked and that I would not be able to put it down until I reached the end and discovered what the final outcome was going to be.

Nikolay Kuzmin didn’t need any more distractions. When a little boy named Damien is left at his front door on a storm night. A bigger surprise is that Damien is his son. He needs help taking care of the three-year-old. Chantel is trying to make it on her own. She doesn’t want to be known by who her father is. When she meets a stranger, she thinks nothing of the chance encounter till she finds out who it is. Now these two must fight their attraction to each other. I have to say that I didn’t see why they needed to fight it from the beginning. OK, yes Niko is Vissarian’s half brother and Chantel is Viss’s daughter. But these two were not blood related. And boy was the attraction instant. It was hot and made me sweat. Chantel is a fighter. She didn’t put up with anything. She is also the only one that realize that Damien was a normal child. How is it no doctor realized that? He just was looking for the right woman for him and his dad. This story gets intense with someone trying to unbalance the regime. I have to say Chante’s thought process is like seeing things from a whole new prospective. She is defiantly an asset to Niko. I have to say what happens was shocking. I did not see that coming.

Loved the book, the excitement and story kept me entertained.
I couldn’t wait to read the last book in the Brutal Empire Series and I wasn’t disappointed. Nikolay was the father of a four year old that was supposedly to be autistic. He was having a rough time because Damien didn’t like any of the nannies. When he went to a dinner invitation by his brother who was in town on business, he saw Chantel his brother’s adopted daughter. They had an instant attraction because neither one knew or recognized the other. When Chantel started her job at the advertising company, her arrogant boss tried to make a play on her and he told her if she didn’t be his mistress she better quit because he knew exactly who she was and her father. Chantel also realized going home that she was being followed and call her dad. He called Nikolay to get her and keep her safe. This story shows the love of a child who was very smart and his love to the woman that would become his mom. The Brigadier is the third book in the Brutal Empire series that is quite suspenseful and a definite page-turner. Author Piper Stone has created another fabulous dark Russian Mafia romance book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fantastic book to where I didn’t want to set the book down for a single second. The Brigadier had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading the book. I absolutely love a book that keeps me on the edge of my seat while guessing what was going to happen to the main characters next in the book. The Brigadier is the story of Nikolay and Chantel whom I absolutely love getting to know and watching their story unfold before my eyes. I can hardly wait to see what the next book from this series, who the next main characters will be, what the plot of the book will be about, and what will be the outcome of that next book because this book has intensified my interest in the series. The Brigadier is a book that I would absolutely recommend to anyone whose looking for a mafia romance to read.

Chantel, the beautiful woman that mesmerized Nikolay so much so that they shared a very hot, sexy intimate moment only to realize "after the fact" that she is the adopted daughter of his half-brother. They aren't blood relatives so was there really anything (no matter how many times they allow it to happen) that could be deemed inappropriate between two consulting adults? The answer is no, over and over again so when he finds out Chantel is in danger, there is no question that no matter how drawn he is to her, keeping her close and protected becomes his priority. There are some HUGE betrayals and surprises that are revealed so hang onto your seat because you are in for a roller coaster of a ride with the ups and downs.

Full disclosure.... I love Piper Stone. I don't think I have ever left a less than 4-star review and this read got all 5 stars from me! Nikolay Kuzmin’s life is turned upside down when a son he never knew he had is dropped on his doorstep. But he embraces fatherhood and is determined to do his best, starting with a nanny. Nik's adopted niece, Chantel is headed to NYC to start her career. Nik and Chantel haven't seen each other for years, and end up hooking up at a party...whoops. And when the new boss turns out to be a perv, she ends up at Nok's and becomes the new nanny and more. Well-developed characters, great-paced storyline, sizzle, steam, action, drama, and more. I was excited about reading the last book in this series and I was not disappointed. Nikolay finds out he is the father of a 4-year-old autistic boy (Damien). Nikolay is having a hard time finding a nanny for him. Enter Chantel, she is the adopted daughter of their half-brother. While at a party, neither one recognizes the other and has an instant connection! Fun times are had on the balcony! When Chantel runs into some trouble at her job with her boss, she turns to her uncle, who will protect her at all costs!

The final book in the series was the best book. I’m actually rating it 4.5 ⭐️.
While the book told a love story between Chantel and Nikolay, it was the background story I really enjoyed. The subterfuge, the traitors and the backstory of how the Bratva worked. Basically the Chernov Bratva was under attack from a surprising foe. A lot of the book was dedicated to that. A story I enjoyed immensely.
The love story between Chantel, Nikolay and his son Damien was heartwarming. Chantel and Nikolay though remotely related had an instant chemistry along with a trust and understanding, never mind mind blowing sex.

OMG! I loved this book it was definitely amazing I was hooked from the start until the very end, the story was written well with plenty of depth and the characters were mesmerising. Nikolay and Chantel, Nikolay didn't know he had a child until the child was left at his door, he took his child to the doctor he was diagnosed as autistic. Chantel has a problem she needed somewhere safe to stay, so she stayed with Nikolay and before he knew it Chantel and his child Damien were communicating which Nikolay had never seen he even talked to her and Nikolay was stund. I’m confused…
Okay, I know I skimmed but the FL is the daughter of the ML’s brother. Isn’t that right? So doesn’t that mean she’s his niece? I need to go back and check on this. Maybe she’s adopted or something. Ok, yes she’s adopted. There would have been serious ick going on otherwise.
Envy and jealousy are so toxic. It causes people to be treated like trash just so that the bad guy can get more money and power. He eliminates loyal followers just to get his way. He kidnaps innocent family and threatens their lives if the husband/father doesn’t do his bidding, betraying his employer.
I liked this one more than book 2. Still, these men all were emotionally immature. They were all so cold…
As an aside, all three of the books in this series ended at the 85% mark. The rest was pages of this author’s books with brief descriptions of each. It was annoying.

I am drawn to the connection between Chantal and Nicholai, simply, because it is so compelling and well written that you can almost feel the sensations between them. What I also find so intriguing are all the machinations and betrayals that occur around every corner. So many surprises, great characters and world building, it's a fast paced read that had me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end! Loved it!.

This is a Mafia book filled with some very intense and when I say intense, I truly mean intense sex scenes, and some actions that is not for the soft-hearted romance readers. This is a 5 Star book that is not only WELL WRITTEN, but it is very HARD TO PUT DOWN once you start reading it. I have read a lot of books by Piper, and I can say that there has not been one that I didn't like reading. This series Brutal Empire has to be one of my favorite series so far if I had to choose.

This series was great, it brought me back to the Piper’s stories that I love. This story is a little different from other stories I have read from Piper. The most amazing part of this story is Nikolay and his son. He would do anything for his son. When Chantel enters the story it becomes even more special. This family was lovely and honestly I cannot believe I am saying this but I teared up. The family relationship was incredible.

Fantastic Read
This story is absolutely the best. I love Nik and Chantel. They are an amazing couple. Oh and don’t forget the little guy. He’s a scene stealer. From page one to the end kept me going. I will say there was one thing I was waiting for at the end and it didn’t happen, which is sad. But that didn’t take away from the story itself. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I absolutely recommend this book.
This story is absolutely the best. I love Nik and Chantel. They are an amazing couple. Oh and don’t forget the little guy. He’s a scene stealer. From page one to the end kept me going. I will say there was one thing I was waiting for at the end and it didn’t happen, which is sad. But that didn’t take away from the story itself. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I absolutely recommend this book.
