The plot twists.. 😦 I thought book 1 was intense but this blew that out of the water. I was on the edge of my seat the entire day because of course I couldn't be stopped and devoured this in one sitting.

Grayson and Ivy.. still perfection wrapped in a spiked bow. They go through so much in their lives both separately and together, I'm in awe of them. Their ending & epilogue made my heart happy.

I'm already looking forward to re-reading this duology come the new year! ❤️

Hold on tight because this story takes off from zero to a hundred on the first page. While Ivy was being held hostage, she uncovered shocking secrets surrounding her father’s death and who is the mole within the CIA. Shocked and hurt, Ivy discovered that people close to her had been keeping secrets from her.

From the very beginning, this story captivated my attention and refused to let go until the very last page. Ivy and Grayson found themselves in a race against time, pursued by both the CIA and the bad guys. Their relentless pursuit by their adversaries maintained the story’s thrilling and suspenseful tone, punctuated by action-packed scenes of evading bullets, and relentlessly searching for the truth. Amidst all this, their undeniable chemistry ignited a passionate spark. This story was phenomenal.
I would like to say thank you to Kathy Lockheart and Valentine_pr for letting me read the book.

#Review: *Crossover* - Kathy Lockheart - ARC [18+]
5/5✨
3/5🌶️
[Contains violent scenes]

This was the next part of the duology 'Cross'. So, it's a must to read the 1st one before reading this part. I had the privilege to read it as an ARC and I'm soo grateful for that! Thank you so, so much Kathy and Valentine Pr for this opportunity!

The story continues after the breathtaking ending of the 1st book. Ivy got kidnapped and Grayson does everything in his powers to save her from the bad guys. But everything it's really complicated because surprises appear at each step and he never knew exactly what was lurking around the corner. He had a hard job while trying to terminate the mafia which was following him, Ivy and their whole families.

Again, the same as in the previous book, the story was so addicting, each chapter having more suspense than the previous one. Everything was on high alert, never knowing what was going to happen. There were some crazy plot twists which I really liked, that made this story even more interesting to follow.

This time, the focus was on the fight against the bad guys, having a bit more violent scenes than the previous book. Even so, we also got some really spicy scenes and some really sweet, where their love was so beautiful to follow. Grayson was a cold hearted killer, but his heart was instantly softened by Ivy, who definitely changed him completely. Loved everything about them and how high the tension between them was at one point.

I truly loooved this book!🫶🏼 As amazing as the 1st part and I'm recommending it to every reader who loves a great suspense story, with awsome characters.

This story picks up where Crossfire left off. You are instantly thrown back into the twist and turns of Ivy’s crazy life and Grayson trying to keep her safe. There are many secrets revealed that cause Ivy to doubt everything she thought was true.

Poor Grayson, every time he thought peace was around corner another twist was thrown in. He has to continue to change directions and make new plans. He makes so many contingency plans that it is hard to keep them straight.

The story line will keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Amazing story, awesome conclusion. Kathy Lockheart has done it again. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for Jace.

Much Thanks to Kathy and Valentine_PR for letting me read this ARC copy!

Picking up right where book one left off, the adrenaline keeps pumping and on our toes as we follow our couple amidst three kidnapping. I found it quite easy to slip back in since reading book one, which was a relief, but there's little hints speckled in the first few chapters to serve as reminders from book one. There's a juggernaut revelation for both of our characters regarding Ivy's father and I liked seeing the inner turmoil of that aftermath for them both.

Each handles it differently, and part of the journey of this book is their forgiveness to each other and themselves. We get some high tension action and further unraveling of the mystery from book one.

Tension is wrung taught as we run through bullets in a forest chase and come to grips with hard truths. With just the right amount of romance, we get a gripping conclusion to this duet and I had a blast being amongst the action, the engaging mystery and the wonderfully layered characters! I just live me a man of action like Grayson! Loved seeing him soften a bit around his angsty edges but still see him kick a$$ (whilst having an incredible one himself lol).

After Crossfire , here is the continuation and conclusion of the Cross Duet. Ivy and Grayson are reunited after the cliffhanger ending of the first book.

When we open this book, we hope to find all the answers to the questions we had after reading Crossfire, and Kathy Lockheart does just that in this second book.

There’s a lot going on in Crossover and there’s not a second to breathe between each piece of information we find out. The only thing that is certain in this book is that Ivy and Grayson’s love for each other can triumph over anything, even the darkest things.

Crossover ends the Cross Duet in a beautiful way. Now I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope that one day we’ll get to know Jace’s story.

Thanks to Kathy Lockheart and Valentine PR for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I wrote this review voluntarily. All opinions are my own.

This book is full of secrets that get discovered, action and twists. In this book you continue the story of crossfire where ivy gets kidnapped. There are so many things happening in this book! I loved it. The story made me keep reading and I wanted to know how it would end. Grayson protected ivy and her family with his live and there was nothing more important than her safety while dealing with the betrayal of his boss and mentor. If you loved book one, you will love this book too!
Definitely recommend this serie!!!

After the jaw-dropping ending of the first book, I was eager to dive into this sequel—and it absolutely delivered! The action starts immediately, and the relentless pace, paired with mind-blowing plot twists, kept me hooked from start to finish.

Grayson shines as a protagonist, balancing badassery with heartfelt moments that had me swooning, especially in his interactions with Ivy. Ivy’s personal struggles added depth to her character, and her development made her feel all the more real.

While the focus on plot and action was gripping, I did find myself craving more moments that showcased Ivy and Grayson’s relationship evolving amidst the chaos. Still, the vivid writing and blockbuster-worthy scenes made this an unforgettable read.

4.5stars-CROSSOVER is the second instalment in Kathy Lockheart’s contemporary, adult CROSS romantic suspense duet focusing on CIA operative Grayson Lockwood, and ER nurse Ivy. Grayson was first introduced in the Vendetta Duet focusing on his brother Hunter. CROSSOVER should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book one CROSSFIRE.

SOME BACKGROUND: Grayson Lockwood’s latest assignment spiralled out of control when a young woman interrupted what was supposed to be the takedown of a dangerous arms dealer . Curious as to the who what and how, Grayson goes on the hunt only to discover his next target is our story line heroine. Grayson has been ordered to kill the woman with whom he is falling in love but all is not as it appears to be. On the run, hoping to protect the woman he was ordered to kill, Grayson quickly discovers that the CIA is refusing to back down, and they are determined to terminate our story line heroine.

If you have not read book one, there may be spoilers in my review

Told from Told from dual first person perspectives (Grayson and Ivy) CROSSOVER is the continuing journey between CIA operative Grayson Lockwood, and ER nurse Ivy. Having fallen in love without story line heroine, Grayson Lockwood knew his latest assignment may be all a ruse. With the help of his brothers, and a fellow CIA agent, Grayson’s need to uncover the truth follows a trail of betrayal, vengeance, secrets and lies. Ivy, desperate to prove her father’s death was not a suicide, has caught the attention of some very powerful people, people who are refusing to back down or let go. With a target on their backs, Grayson and Ivy must come to terms the possibility of an agent gone rogue, and the inevitable revelations as to the who, how and why.

The world building continues to focus on the search for the truth as Ivy struggles with her father’s death, and the betrayal by the man with whom she had fallen in love. Not all is at it appears to be, as the CIA discovers they are no longer in control of an operation that was never meant to be.

The building relationship between Ivy and Grayson struggles in the face of secrets and lies. Heartbreaking betrayal from the past gives rise to the truth; acceptance and forgiveness will come at a cost. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, we are reintroduced to Grayson’s brothers Jace, Bryson, Hunter and his wife Luna, Detective Mitchell, Grayson’s handler Daniel, as well as Ivy’s mother, her grandmother; CIA agent Seth. The requisite evil has many faces.

CROSSOVER is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, murder and mayhem, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The fast paced premise is action packed, dramatic and intriguing; the romance is provocative but struggles with issues of trust; the characters are charismatic and determined.

A thrilling and suspenseful read with drama and romance, this is a great finish for Grayson and Ivy’s story.

This book is a direct continuation from the first book in this duet, Crossfire, so don’t read this one as a standalone as it picks up right where the nasty cliffhanger of Crossfire left us. Ivy has been taken, and Grayson is a man determined to rescue his girl. But while she’s being held, she learns the devastating truth that Grayson was the man responsible for her father’s death. He is innocent of any wrongdoing of course, but it understandably puts them in a really hard position when they are reunited.

“I need you to hate me … Because I hate myself for what I did to you.” He paused. “But I don’t trust myself if you ever opened the door to me … I don’t deserve you. But I will never stop wanting you, so listen carefully. Hold on to that hate.”

But there is little time to come to terms with the heartbreaking news because they’re still on the run, and OMG, what a rollercoaster this book is! Grayson and Ivy are desperately trying to uncover the truth about who is targeting her and why, and taking down the bad guy will be a lot more complicated than they thought. With action, suspense, and a whole lot of secrets to uncover, it’s a wild ride.

And as their situation becomes more and more dangerous, it progresses the love story as they realise everything that they have to lose, which brings a gorgeously emotional, sexy and intense romance.

“I can’t lose you … You’re everything to me.”

The story twists and turns with surprises and big reveals, and I was never quite sure what to expect. But it finishes well, with a happy ending for this couple, and the hint of a story to come for Grayson’s brother, Jace.

Like the first book, I found this one to be heavy on the inner monologue as opposed to dialogue, which took me out of the moment when I had to go back and reread the last line of dialogue to remember what somebody was responding to. But on the whole, I though Lockheart did a great job unravelling such a complex story, and I enjoyed this one.

3 stars.

Wow this lady has such a knack of grabbing your attention and not letting go until the very last page.
The second in the duet, this takes up right where Crossfire left us hanging by our fingernails.
Ivy and Grayson are caught in a web of secrets and lies that threaten to destroy all their truths. Ivy learns more about Grayson's past and is drowning in the horror of what she finds there. Grayson, all too aware of the danger the woman he loves is in, frantically tries to find a way of keeping both Ivy and their families safe.
Grayson is dark and dangerous, but trying hard to hold on to his own truth. Ivy is a strong women, but vulnerable to the past that still haunts her.
Can Ivy see past the horror she finds in their shared pasts and see the man who has discovered he needs her to be able to breathe.
This story has so many twists and turns, you think OK this is it, relax and wham another turn in the plot has you racing to the next chapter.
I repeat this is the second of a duet but honestly I urge you to grab Crossfire then come back and read the thrilling conclusion to Ivy and Grayson's story.

Wow! What an insane ride!

He is an assassin. She's his target. Now they are in love.
Crossover picks up right where Crossfire ended, Ivy has been kidnapped and Grayson is still working against the CIA. Fearing that Ivy has been set up, Grayson is working to clear Ivy before the clock runs out and another CIA assassin is sent to complete the mission. As the two comes to terms with falling for one another, trouble is lurking at every corner. More twists and turns threaten to end either their relationship or one of them all together. Crossover is a nail biting, action packed ride you will not be able to put down. Who is ultimately the good/bad guys and will they both survive to get a HEA?!?!

Crossover was packed with nail biting moments and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. Killer or not, I still loved Grayson this entire book. I loved that this book showed him as a protector and there was so much character growth and development. I loved this duet so much and Kathy Lockheart did an amazing job giving us all the romance we wanted while having an action-packed plot the entire time!

Whew! There was a lot happening in this book. Crossfire had some action but was also an extensive set up for Crossover. These books are not independent; they should be read together.

Crossfire ended in a brutal cliffhanger, so we pick up the story at that exact moment. Ivy has been taken, Grayson is chasing, and Grayson's family is badass as always. Ivy's kidnapper is a surprise. I had a good idea who it was but then didn't fully connect the dots to the second surprise. Grayson is, of course, the best of MMCs. He spends so much of the book trying to atone for a mistake that wasn't even fully his. Meanwhile, Ivy is refusing to forgive Grayson for something that wasn't his fault. Her mom has a secret that was much worse than Grayson's, and she's now acting self-righteous about her dislike of Grayson. It was a lot. But it was good.

I really enjoyed the wrap up of Grayson and Ivy's story. I still don't like Mom, but I LOVE his family. I thought that the book went a little long. I could have read 50 pages less and been a little happier. However, I'm dying to learn Jack's secrets now!! There were too many teasers for me not to be invested.

First book laid the groundwork and this one is basically all about the MCs running for their lives. It’s mostly fast paced but there’s a sh!t ton of internal monologue/ramblings/whatever the h3ll you wish to call it. I skimmed a bit when I came across some of those because I wanted the action and didn’t care to read 3 pages of thoughts.

Some events are also quite unrealistic, like bumping into an ex/friend in the middle of nowhere, or almost getting r*ped by some random stranger in a gas station bathroom. And that stranger who looked like one of the heroine’s kidnapper? This second book made me feel like I do when I peek at hubby’s action movies where the hero is like, one against 100 men and he still ends up victorious while all the bad guys are dead. Kinda eye rolling. And why are most of the men portrayed in such unfavorable manners? It seems like every man they meet is a total psycho/abuser/freak that needs to be beaten up or k!lled.

Last thing I wasn’t too fond of. The idiocy at the end, where the MCs think they’re safe despite the big bad villain still being alive. Like, seriously? Meh.

Otherwise it was a good enough read.

Crossover picks up right where Crossfire left off, and it is vs one thrilling, action-packed book. Grayson shows up just as Ivy has been taken by the bad guys. He must track her down and rescue her all while figuring out how to destroy the bad guy. Secrets spill, passion erupts, and danger intensifies as this story unfolds.

Crossover does not stop. It’s so good. Kathy Lockheart does a great job of writing suspense by changing the point of view and chapter length to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The characters are great. I love Grayson’s brothers and can’t wait for more in their stories. The romance between Grayson and Ivy is heated and spicy. The world building is good, and the plot is on point. Crossover is a fast-paced, excellent finish to the Cross duet.

You must read Crossfire before you read Crossover if you want the full story! Read and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss.

The gripping conclusion to the latest romantic suspense duet from Kathy Lockheart and this book was all I expected and more. Crossover had me absorbed from the opening pages especially after the ending of the previous book left readers desperate to know what would happen and what an intense rollercoaster of a read this was. The story hit the ground running and didn't let up for a second, full of twists and turns, the tension built throughout as Ivy and Grayson tried to keep one step ahead of their pursuers, unsure of who they could trust. With the narrative told from dual points of the view, this author has woven an intricate tale as the two protagonists desperately sought out the truth. I loved how equal the characters were, Ivy was more than capable of standing up to Grayson, with the undeniable chemistry bubbling away between them adding to the tension. With both elements perfectly balanced, the Cross duet is a perfect example of how romantic suspense should be.

“I have a new purpose,” he whispered. “My purpose is you now, Ivy. All the breaths that my lungs will ever breathe belong to you. Every beat of my heart is yours. From the moment I wake up to when I close them at night, I live for one thing and one thing only—to fill every second of your life with as much joy as this world can hold.”

Omg!! This book was so good.
Grayson and Ivy are the perfect blend of everything you need in a book world.

I love the way Kathy Lockheart involves all the characters and makes everything so flawless
The characters, storyline, and plot twists were magnificent.

It’s always difficult to find the words to express just how much I love Kathy’s books! They always exceed my expectations and leave me on awe! In true Kathy Lockheart fashion this book is packed with so much action and suspense. Nail biting, heart pounding, and hold your breath moments. It’s impossible to put down! I say it all the time but she truly is the queen of romantic suspense. I was so invested in the story and desperate to see how everything would unfold. Grayson and Ivy’s relationship might be filled with complexity and tension, but their love and attraction is unstoppable. There are several shocking revelations and following along with them is quite the ride! I couldn’t get enough of them! Such a page turner and the ending is so satisfying!

Thank you so much Kathy for the arc!

I'm keeping this one spoiler free, especially because it's only just been released!

This book was absolutely incredible! The second and final book in this duet and all I can say is, another amazing book from Kathy Lockheart! Morally grey men with their own moral lines, spicy chemistry and amazing plots are what Lockheart does best!

I've been so excited to see what happens next for these two and wow this book didn't let me down. So hard to find books like this that pull you in and hook you.

I got this book on my kindle at midnight on release day, read until 3am and finished it the following day. So worth only getting 3 hours sleep (2 kids and all haha caffeine has been my friend today!)

Can't wait to read more by this amazing writer!! And I'm hoping another brother gets his own book soon 🤞

I couldn't wait to dive into this 2nd part of the duet after the thrilling first part, but although I enjoyed it, I felt it was too slow for what should have been fast paced action and so it fell a bit short of my expectations.

We pick up right from where we left off, in the first part, Grayson is desparate to find Ivy, but at the same time, he feels like he's missing something - why did they kidnap her and not just kill her? This is not the only question to be answered.

Getting answers to this and other questions drives them apart but also pushes them back together, with Ivy's life in more danger than ever. But, even when they think it's over, there's another twist to come. One that won't shock you, but threatens more than just Ivy and Grayson. Overall an enjoyable read, if a bit slow.

Move over Jason Bourne!

This was a viscerally exciting wrap-up of the duology. When I say it was worthy of a Jason Bourne scenario I'm really not kidding. In fact, it also brought to mind the early Jack Bauer 24 series before they became too formulaic. I'd love to see a version of this made into a series or film. The dénouement is everything that a thriller should be.

Thank you, Kathy Lockheart, for introducing us to such a delightfully unexpected family & I can't wait for the next books covering the rest of the brothers. Though quite where you go from here is going to be a hard act to follow. Mind you I thought that after the first duology. Keeping it the 2 books per brother works perfectly, room to expand the storyline whilst delving into the individual brothers' personalities & motivations. Bring on the next!

4 ½ Stars ... edge of your seat romance

This book begins right where Crossfire left off .. and what a ride it is. If Ivy didn't have bad luck, she'd have no luck at all. It's alarming how many bad guys are after her! She had to be strong in order to get through it. Then there's Grayson ... for an assassin he sure had a heart of gold where Ivy and his family were concerned. You could tell that they loved each other deeply and would put their life on the line for each other. I don't want to say too much and spoil it for others ... that being said, this is another excellent suspense romance from this author. It sounds like Jace's book will be next ... here's crossing my fingers!

- Second in a duet
- Dark romance
- Romantic suspense
- Touch her at your own peril
- Secrets

Oh. My. Word. This book is absolutely fantastic! It begins immediately after the ending of book one, so it's imperative you read that one first. The action is this story is non stop and I found myself holding my breath many times.

Grayson is one of the most intense MMCs I've read in a long time. He is absolutely laser focused on Ivy. But he also has secrets he's been keeping from her. And they are BIG.

Ivy is a very strong character with a desire to protect those she loves. Some of the betrayals she has had to deal with are INTENSE.

I don't want to give too much away because this book has so much going on. No one does romantic suspense like this author. Wow!

This is the second book in the Cross Duet Series and its picks up right where book #1 ended. Ivy has been kidnapped and Grayson is trying to save her. This book like the previous has so many twists and turns. The book has you constantly on pins and needles wondering what’s going to happen next. There is more romance and spice in this book than the previous book. I loved how strong a character Ivy was and capable of defending herself. Grayson was so intent on protecting her and helping her but he also kept secrets from her. This was an incredibly interesting and intense duet. I don’t read many romantic suspense books but I truly enjoyed this. I’m hoping Grayson’s brothers get their own books.
