The biggest guild in the world is recruiting. Anyone can join, assuming they can survive the test.
Recruitment Day is here. One hundred hopefuls willingly participate to gain membership with the Oathsworn, the most famous guild in the entire world. The Oathsworn hold a monopoly over the best dungeons, making it nearly impossible for other guilds and solo adventurers to earn a living. So, when Recruitment Day comes around, one would be a fool to miss it.
On the surface, Jon Reddington is one of those fools. Jon was a member of Five Rings, the second-largest guild in the world, for over fifteen years. The politics and in-fighting grew exhausting though, so he left the guild and chose freelance work, selling his sword and shield to anyone who could afford him. He didn’t do a background check on the last group though, a mistake that made him an unwilling participant in Recruitment Day. Unlike the hopefuls surrounding him, Jon knows that it isn’t the monsters of the dungeon they have to worry about, but the members of the Oathsworn, the real bringers of death.
Not only did the Oathsworn play dirty to get Jon into the game, but they brought in his friend and mentor as well, just to ensure he complies. They have a special plan for Jon, one that sees him teleported to the other side of the dungeon. Alone and injured, Jon stumbles upon an unlikely ally, a kingdom of women warriors who would love to see the Oathsworn destroyed, just as much as he would.
Prince Class is a high fantasy LitRPG novel that includes dungeon life, monsters, fighting, magic, and video game-like violence. It also contains spicy adult scenes as a means of progressing Jon’s prince class that are not intended for young readers, or those who do not enjoy such scenarios.
This book was rife with inconsistencies (other than some changing rules built into the plot), and I dropped it at 75% for one big personal issue. Love the first book where I didn't notice any inconsistencies, and the harem was an actual harem, despite the implied promiscuity of some members before they joined. This book started out with the introduction of a type of game-changing item not previously mentioned, and the MC gives the items to a certain member for certain reasons that just so happen to fulfill certain conditions he'd been questing for. That's fine, on its own, I guess, but later he essentially repeats the scenario; this time with more dialog to explain the items. The two items go to the same person, with the same reasoning given, and once again conveniently fill in a pot point. This is just the first, most egregious inconsistency, as an example. I dropped the book when clones got involved with the spicy recruitment of a new member. In the harem genre, two males with one of the female love interests is the kind of thing that should be warned about.
Interesting dungeon delving but some of the machinations went over my head
The MC loses his group of female warriors, but gains another one. He confronts the ranger that backstabbed him and finds that one of the supporting characters he thought were in his corner, isn't. On the other hand, he linked up with his friend again and someone he thought was an advesary turned out to be an ally. Sort of.
The writing was good, though there were a few typos. Big whoop! Still I found the world building confusing, especially regarding the boss fights, where the party had to kill the bosses 3x. The power dynamic between the king, the queen and the princess was difficult to follow. I didnt care for the whole codex concept, where an adventurer's class was tied to it, yet it could be fairly easily stolen, resetting the person back to standard human attributes until you begged, borrowed, stole or found another one. Good that the narrative didnt drag on as this was a 2 book story.
Really good premise and sex scenes not written by a virgin. Really enjoyable. The lack of epilogue was awesome extremely annoying. Nobody is safe, happy, or rested.
I struggled with this one. None of the characters felt like people, the MC had his emotions randomly swing around, and a single sex scene lasted for 3 chapters, which was far too long. I really don't plan on reading the next one.
To be sure this book has some very unique aspects to keep the story moving in a way that you wouldn't expect it however has me ready to jump head first into the next book Very much so enjoyed it is indeed SPICY !!!!
It took two novels to get it done, but that is what was needed. This is a great story that hits all your fantasy buttons that make you part of the story.
