Rate this book
James Moore is a young ex-soldier suffering with a serious leg wound, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, who is finding it extremely difficult to adapt to normal civilian life. His family, especially his mother, are at a loss as to how to alleviate his constant despair. Fate, however, decides to take a hand.

Early one morning, James is sitting in his mother’s garden trying to clear his mind of yet another vivid nightmare , when he slowly becomes aware of a faint wailing sound. At first he thinks it’s a residue of his disturbing dream, but the more he listens, the more he realises it someone or something in pain. He perceives the sound to be coming from a small wood at the end of the garden, and decides to investigate. When he discovers, and rescues a small terrified dog, this act of kindness changes his life forever.
