Sammy is on her fifth visit to DreamTogether, a breeding program designed to help monsters create the families they’ve always wanted. But as hard as she and her dragon partner have tried to create a hatchling, every test turns up negative.

Dragons are dying out, so Zakarion came to DreamTogether to continue his species. But when he can no longer sell priceless artifacts from his hoard to pay for his visits, he takes it as a sign to give up.

But Sammy has grown attached to her dragon, and doesn’t want to set aside Zakarion’s dream. Perhaps dragons aren’t meant to breed in sterile medical rooms, so she offers to continue trying to conceive outside of DreamTogether. Given that dragons live centuries while humans don’t, Sammy and Zakarion agree to avoid a romantic entanglement—but as they grow closer and closer, that might just prove impossible.

This steamy, sweet monster romance novella follows a kind heroine and a big-hearted dragon who wants to save his species. It features breeding, a friends-to-lovers dynamic, pregnancy, and some miscommunication about feelings with a heartfelt HEA. For a full list of content warnings, visit the author's website.

There probably isn’t anything that Lyonne writes that I could ever hate. I absolutely love the dreamtogether world and this one was super fun.

Also, he’s a real dragon, not a shifter and I LOVED that.

I'm 50/50 on this one, I couldn't ship Sammy and Zakarion at all and the smut was the only thing worth it for me.

PLOT:

Zakarion the dragon wants a baby to prolong his dying line so he goes to DreamTogether, an agency that matches monsters with human women to help conceive a child. Sammy, a human in need of funds signs up and after a few tries, they're still not pregnant. Sammy proposes that they take things into their own hands and meet outside for the clinic and things get spicy really fast

THOUGHTS:

- I really wanted to LOVE Sammy as a character but I just couldn't connect with her. She's apparently a super smart girl boss type who needed a break from her career for reasons... So she wants to offer her womb / have a little fun, I get that. However we also see her house is falling apart, she barely has any food and is clearly struggling so that makes it seem more like she had no other options / doesn't have any savings. Also, isn't the agency charging Zakarion like thousands to participate??? So why does she get basically nothing to live on since it's basically going to be full time when she's pregnant?

- Sammy's personality doesn't do it for me. The main conflict in the book is her being dumb, trying to keep things "professional" but she really has feelings for him. She hides everything behind this goofy "we're friends" personality which ends up ruining things since Zak is clearly getting attached and she KNOWS that. Literally ONE conversation could have cleared things up between them and I HATE when grown women (who were apparently super successful at one point in their lives) can't just have a big girl talk to clarify things. Literally her friends had to tell her she was being an idiot for her to realize. Nope.

Like, you're willing to birth this mans child but you can't talk about feelings?? *Eyeroll*

- didn't she have to sign an NDA or non compete or something? I'm assuming the clinic wants to make sure their women aren't "going rogue" and offering the services outside of the clinic or it'll cut into their business.

- Zak was ok and I loved that he was an actual dragon and not a shifter and the smut was hot but that aside he fell a little flat to me. Also, he apparently has a horde worth millions but this one dude in a pawn shop is the only one he can take stuff too? There has to be a legal way to sell his items and I call BS of the fact he was so broke he couldn't pay for the service anymore. Also, you're like 300 years old, if you like her TALK TO HER. oh my god.

- Sammy.... I get that she doesn't want to charge him but girl?! Your house is falling apart, you have to do odd jobs just to survive and you think it's all going to be cool when you're pregnant with a giant dragon baby??? As far as she knows he can't afford to pay her or the clinic at all so she's basically doing this for free, doing irrevocable damage to her body and then what, he takes the baby and flies away??? This is a TERRIBLE idea.

- the relationship didn't do it for me. Yes the sex was great but they have ZERO in common, bad communication, their main relationship was built on a business arrangement and we don't see them really bond or do anything other than have sex.

Lastly, THE ENDING??? no spoilers but the author does not name the second baby and the epilogue basically says, "they all left the nest and went off to explore the world" WHAT? I want at least a little closure the couple lasted, that's all we get?

Meh couple if I'm being honest.

OMG WHERE DO I EVEN START?!

The fact that this book—you know, a book with like 80% monster breeding goodness—hit me in the feels as much as it did really shows how unbelievably talented Lyonne is and the heartfelt characters and universes she creates!

I loved the previous book in this series of semi-interconnected books (saying that because you can very easily read them separately, but there are some really cool easter eggs and cameos from Bred by the Wolfman in here!) and I didn’t know how it was going to be possible for it to be topped…but, I have to say that Zak & Sammy’s story STUFFED its way on top (pun COMPLETELY intended because, you know, he’s a DRAGON haha).

Zak is a complete cinnamonroll of a MC who wants a hatchling more than ANYTHING to love and pass on his family’s legacy and history to…until he meets Sammy, the human who has offered to be his surrogate through Dream Together, and he realises that the thing he most needs and wants to treasure is right there in front of him.

It’s so incredibly wholesome, sweet, angsty (with some miscommunication trope and a third-act “break up”), absolutely DRIPPING with lots of spice and all wrapped up in a bow of romance, friendship, family and trusting fate to guide your heart to where it’s meant to be.

I’m still not over this book and I don’t think I will be for a LONG time. I need a Zak in my life!! 5/5 stars!!

Another fun foray into the world where DreamTogether pairs up humans with non-humans for breeding purposes. I enjoyed the previous one, Bred by the Wolfman, and this one as well.

I admit to being a little annoyed at Sammy and Zakarion’s total inability to see how perfect they are for one another, but I did enjoy their journey from compatible “clients” to friends to something more. The story is sweet with a happy ending and the spice is good, so really, what’s not to like?

It was what I expected to be and even then I liked it a lot!

Zak deserves the world! He is so cuteeeee!
And I'm trying to work out the dimensions and how Sammy is even alive after all this.

But I liked it!!!!!

This was a sweet little read. But I was a little disappointed that the MMC dragon (Zakarion) didn't shift between a human form and a dragon form...I thought that would be the case because it usually is in romance novels. He was a dragon 100% of the book.

Also, Sammy (FMC) was a little stupid sometimes. I dislike miscommunication as a plot device. Sammy was too grown to not have a conversation about her feelings and concerns.

I received this title as an ARC as a member of Lyonne Riley's patron! Thank you for the copy!

The Good
I loved "Bred by the Wolfman" a LOT so I was excited to get a sequel in this world of DreamTogether so soon! Similar to the first book Zakaion is the monster in question and craves a family. His situation is more dire as dragons are a dying breed. Sammy is brunt out and wants a break from the hustle and grind to finally rest. Which is how she ends up in the Dream together program. Zakaion and Sammy both fall for each other real fast and because of how their relationship started have multiple miscommunications that lead to some great pining and angst. I didn't mind the miscommunication because it felt like it happened for valid reasons. Zak didn't know how Sammy felt about being with a dragon. Sammy didn't want her heart to be broken by being with someone who could live well beyond her years. They both had reasons to hide their feelings and it made their final confession so much more rewarding.

Tropes:
— Miscommunication
— Mutual Pining
— Friends with Benefits
— Angst

Horn Level: 5/5🌶️
Format: Ebook

Dare I say, this is so much better than the first book!

Sammy and Zakarion's been trying to get pregnant in DreamTogether Breeding Program. Months after months, they failed and when Zak's money is slowly dwindling out, he can't afford the program anymore. They made an agreement that they will still try away from the program.

I love Sammy, she's so strong and resilient with such a good heart. Zak's a great dragon too and such a softie. I love them individually and when they were together, it was such good chemistry. One thing I didn't like was the whole push-and-pull situation and there's a bit miscommunication between them that lasted months.

I think we saw the character from the first book because wolf! This book was a great palate cleanser

Overall, I still love this over the first one, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series (and what monster comes next)!

3 ⭐️ okay now this one was much more my vibe!! dragon man with double the pleasure, double the fun!! strong, independent, and kind FMC!! the spicy scenes were fun & the intimacy of the dynamic grew as the story progressed. although i was annoyed as hell with the miscommunication/refusal to communicate at a certain point, it wrapped up quickly and neatly.

there were fun little nods to the first book — curious to see who/what is next!

I was so excited to read this book. Ever since I read the first one and began the journey of DreamTogether, I’ve been absolutely hooked on this series. I must say I’m a total fan girl when it comes to what Lyonne writes, and I’ll read it right away because I love how she can mix coziness with spice so well, creating something incredible. This story is no exception. We have Zak, who only wants to have a hatching since his race is almost extinct, and that’s where he contacts DreamTogether to find the perfect woman to carry his child. Sammy didn’t think she’d be paired with a dragon, but she’s more than excited about it. Let me say that this story will captivate you from the first chapter; the smut is present and excellent. They make such a cute couple; he’s a total cinnamon roll, doing everything possible to ensure Sammy has everything she needs for her comfort, even if it means selling some of his treasures. I loved seeing the cameos from the previous book; it was a great detail that made me really excited. Even though it took them a while to realize they were meant for each other, I was so happy to see them together in the end, especially since the ending made my heart melt. I’m truly ready to see our next DreamTogether couple.

What was that??!!!

This book was not good. It dragged on and on. The spicy scenes were ok. Then the story became ridiculous... I've never heard of a dragon give his treasure away because it was the 'right thing to do' !!!??? This was laughable! Then at the end- this author does not name the name of the 2nd (or possibly more) child. I'm done with this author... You've been warned :(

Lyonne Riley has done it again; I am OBSESSED with these DreamTogether books. This was so good, I really loved how they were both so wrapped up in thinking they didn't want to overstep with each other. Like, She was so convinced he ONLY wanted a baby and no relationship, and he's, like, halfway in love with her. Ah, they were such adorable little idiots. I LOVE THEM.

This was spicyyyyy but sweet and it just warmed my whole heart seeing them getting their HEA. I need a million more of these DreamTogether program books they are amazing

“My heart and body were both made for you. To please you. To care for you. Now c*me for me.”

Bred by the Dragon is the second installment of the DreamTogether Breeding Program series. It’s filled with angst and miscommunication, but the ending has you celebrating the love these two find with one another! This gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

I’m absolutely digging the concept behind this series and how each book focuses on a different monster and human trying to have a child. The chemistry that Zak and Sammy have is so STEAMY! You can tell they’re meant for one another. I love how they go off script in order to conceive and it just drives them closer to one another. The angst and miscommunication between them had me yelling at them throughout the book. Lyonne excels at this trope and she didn’t disappoint with these two. The HEA is absolutely worth the wait!

InCorrect genre

Let me be clear about this book in this review...This came up under my genre of shifter books. This is NOT a shifter book if you're looking for one! I read this book to the end. This book is all about bestiality. She's mating with a dragon in dragon form. I was fooled by the tag under which it popped up. Don't get me wrong. I loved the storyline and plot but the extra stuff was....not something I read. I know it's fantasy but it all came off as wrong. Again...THIS IS NOT A SHIFTER BOOK. THE AUTHOR NEEDS TO LET PEOPLE KNOW AND PUT MORE WARNINGS IN THE BLURBS!

3.5 - ⭐⭐⭐💫

Bred by the Dragon is the second novel in the adult monster romance series, DreamTogether Breeding Program. Each novel is an interconnected standalone so while they are set in the same universe they follow separate characters. In this story we follow Sammy and Zakarion.

Sammy, looking to help afford some bills and break the monotony of life, signed up for the monster breeding program not really knowing what to expect. Seven months down the line she is finding her efforts to help revitalize the dragon species through Zakarion to be quite enjoyable. Yet when she discovered Zakarion will need to cancel the contract because he can no longer trade his priceless artifacts to cover the bills she finds she has grown attached...so she offers him outside of the cold medical environment to try. As they grow closer they must decide is this just business or is there more between them...

If you are looking for a book that is exactly what it describes itself to be then you will LOVE this.

Sammy is a character looking to find herself and being with Zakarion gives her a purpose initially. I liked seeing her journey as she figures out what she wants. Meanwhile Zakarion is just a sweetheart. He wants a baby badly but even more he feels something for Sammy that is just so sweet and angst as he doesn't want to get shut down.

The spice of this book is 5 spicy peppers out of 5 spicy peppers. The book starts immediately with a spice scene as we see these characters exploring spice on a number of occasions. It is a monster romance as well with a dragon who has two accessories. There is flying spice, multi-penetration, and plenty of fluid. It is explicit and detailed and oh so much fun.

The story itself was fine. There isn't a lot of world building but I found the magical black market storyline to be fascinating for Drakarion and the push to figure out what would help get Sammy pregnant. There was a lull at one point as the happy couple hit a stand still because they try to keep things business instead of romantic and it makes them miserable. I really wanted to shake them BUT when they figure things out it is quite cute. The ending has a nice epilogue that rounds things out. The story didn't wow me but it was fun and was a fast read that delivered what is offered.

Overall if you want a spicy dragon romance that is quick and fun, check this out!

I'll go straight to the point! Let’s talk about the real pain here—the part where the characters have to pretend they're not attracted to each other. Absolute agony. Every chapter, I'm sitting there thinking, "Come on, just admit it already!" I keep hoping, and hoping, and hoping again, that this will be the moment they finally confess those feelings that have been simmering since the first page they locked eyes. But no, Riley is determined to keep us dangling on the edge. She’s like that friend who holds the secret to the ending of your favourite show and keeps saying, "Just wait for it." I find myself practically shouting at the book, "Oh for f***'s sake, just confess!"

And my dilemma with dual POV?! It’s like Riley handed me the popcorn and front-row seats to each character's most raw, inner thoughts while the other is completely clueless. Which, of course, makes me forget that they don’t have the same access to each other’s brains. Cue me sighing heavily and muttering, “Seriously?! How can you not see what's happening here?” And let me tell you, in this particular book? Riley is a master at frustrating the living daylights out of me as her reader. I love her books, but sometimes, I swear, the tension she builds makes me want to throw my Kindle at a pillow.

But, and this is the key reason I keep coming back for more, I know there’s a happily-ever-after at the end of this wild ride. Riley never leaves me hanging—at least, not in the long run. And that, my friends, is the only thing stopping me from flinging my e-reader out the window. The makeup sex scenes? Hmm😏 The best kind of reward after all that tension!

And then there’s that morning view on the ledge overlooking Zak’s mountain. I swear, in my mind, it’s pure serenity. Just perfection.

So if, like me, you’re a sucker for a happy-ever-after with some steamy, maddening moments along the way, you’re in for a treat.

Bred by the Dragon by Lyonne Riley is a monster romance from her DreamTogether Breeding Program series. I have read stories about shifters where they spend some time in human form. However, this story is written from the standpoint of romance between a sentient dragon and a human. The logistics of this coupling makes for a mind-bending courtship! In this modern era, dragons are near extinction and have few opportunities to procreate. Zakarion, a centuries old dragon, has come to DreamTogether to ensure that his family’s legacy lives on. He is paired with hardworking and kind-hearted Samantha (Sammy). Sammy left corporate America due to burnout, and she is trying to stay afloat financially AND help endangered species have offspring, win-win. While this is a business arrangement, Zakarion and Sammy form an unspoken connection. But it is hard to separate these real feelings from the parameters of the business agreement. When Zakarion is no longer able to afford the fees at DreamsTogether, Sammy generously offers to continue free of charge. However, will their rapidly growing feelings be enough to bridge the gap and barriers that would hinder a real love connection? His longevity? Her fragility? This story had some fun elements and graphic descriptions, and I liked both main characters. I would have liked a little more movement in their coming together (their HEA seemed to take forever), but I guess you really can’t rush dragons 😊.

So…when am I getting my own dragon like Zakarion?? “Bred by the Dragon” follows our couple Zakarion and Sammy, whom have been trying repeatedly for a baby and have gotten more emotionally invested in each other than they’re supposed to in the DreamTogether program. When Zakarion can no longer make payments for the program he tries to throw in the towel but our girl, Sammy, refuses to accept this. Offering to keep trying outside of the program because she doesn’t want to say goodbye to him and she wants him to get the baby he so desperately wants. I really enjoyed this book but I found myself wanting to scream more than once. Both of the main characters wanted more from each other and yet continued to miscommunicate instead of sitting down and having a conversation like adults! I found it absolutely infuriating. However, I did love the couple and found our male lead to be so sweet to our girl, Sammy, which was exactly what she deserved. But, on the other hand, I wasn’t a big fan of the ending. I wanted so much more and Lyonne Riley left much to be wanted. :( Nevertheless, I miss this couple and mourn them even though they are not truly gone.

I love Lyonne’s “Bred by” series, and each new book keeps getting better!

Being partial to dragons, this book is my favorite so far.
The way Zakarion and Sammy complement each other is perfect. Every time they look at each other, you can feel their attraction—she finds him beautiful, just as he thinks she is stunning.
From the very steamy start at the Dream Together clinic to the intense romance that blooms when the surrogacy clinic turns out not to be the right fit for them, this dragon-human couple will have you burning up with all the HOT, HOT scenes. From the fire-breathing, sky-high steamy adventures, where he takes her under the moonlit sky with his two c*cks, yes, two, and all I could think of was the soundtrack from The NeverEnding Story as Zakarion takes Sammy into the sky for some high-flying breeding fun.

One thing I absolutely loved, is Zakarion’s own version of the Library of Alexandria in his mountain home. His “museum,” as he calls it, is filled with countless artifacts. I wish I could be Sammy, just to visit his home and listen to him talk endlessly about each relic’s history.

This one was much better than the first book in the series. There wasn't any creepiness in here, only wholesomeness ;)
Sammy was blown away by her encounters with the dragon in the DreamTogether program, developing quite a crush that only got her harder when she got to see him. She was scared of even admitting to herself how deeply she fell for him, so of course she couldn't tell him about her feelings. She was so committed to helping him get the baby he longed for, that when he ran out of money, she decided to leave the program with him and keep trying without any recompense.
Zakarion was such a sweetheart. Giant dragon that took great care of bringing only pleasure to the woman that was to carry his hatchling. It was so sweet how he was so careful during sex that Sammy had to demand more ;) He was falling as hard for her as Sammy was for him, and with how huge his heart was I understand why he was so despondent when she kept him at arms length.
It was the first time I've read a romance featuring a dragon who is a full bodied dragon all the time and it was fascinating.

4 terrific🌟's for Bred by the Dragon💖🌟

Zan is Dragon looking to have a child so that dragon kind doesn't go extinct. He would love a true mate but because their are so few dragons left all of the females in his age group are already mated. So he goes to Dream Together to see if a human female will be able too give him A child. He never expected to find the love of his life. Sammy a young beautiful human female who is smart, fun and capable but just has not truly found her place or purpose is on a mission to help Zan continue his species and have a hatchling. Sammy has a college degree she doesn't use and a personal training business she burnt out on. Now she has a house out in the country she's restoring and is falling in love with a dragon while trying to give him a child. They are some misunderstandings along the way but what's beautiful about this story is the love both of them have for each other and the hatchlings they bring into the world. it was a great story and I truly enjoyed it!🌟🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥
