Brianne, a woman of the ruling family, has never seen a Shareem, until she spies Aiden, a level one, in a coffee bar in the working-class part of town. Unknown to Brianne, her bodyguards arrest Aiden for even looking at her, and Aiden is locked away, scheduled to be terminated.

Ky, a level-three Shareem and Aiden's closest friend, is furious. He tries to extract Aiden, which only ends up in him being arrested alongside him.

Brianne, horrified, has both of them freed, but Ky wants to teach Lady Brianne a lesson to make up for almost getting Aiden killed. Aiden accompanies him, worried about Ky's volatile nature, and Brianne finds herself alone in a train car with two Shareem men who have many things on their minds.

The incident has Ky bothered for more than one reason—it forced the feelings he's kept hidden for Aiden to surface. But such things are forbidden to Shareem, as he learned the hard way years ago.

With Brianne with them, everything seems to be fine. But when Ky starts to give in to the longing he's had for years, old danger resurfaces, which he knows could mean the end of his life.

This series pulls out all the stops for an MMF Erotic Romance with a Sci-Fi Twist!

Ky had never been this aching before, even after teasing a woman without releasing himself. But the scent of Brianne covered in Aiden’s oil and the taste of her skin, the heat of her pussy had been good. So good.
Even better had been Aiden’s fingers caressing his as they both stroked her, and Aiden’s tongue hard in his mouth. The combination of woman and man . . . Ky had never felt anything so potentially explosive in his existence.
We knew from the previous book in the series, Rio, that Aiden had developed feelings for his best friend and fellow Shareem Ky. He was content to hide his feelings for his friend, but fate has different plans. After all, the threat of death is a pretty huge motivator to bare your soul.

AIDEN
Level One Shareem

“It’s forbidden,” Ky said automatically.
“If we never did what was forbidden, we’d all be dead by now.”
Aiden was quietly enjoying a coffee and making eyes at a lovely woman sitting at a table across the room. She's obviously interested (how could she not be interested? He is a face-sculpted example of male perfection) but she quickly flees the coffee shop before he has the opportunity to seduce. Unbeknownst to him, Brianne d'Aroth was the mysterious beautiful woman, and her bodyguards took it upon themselves to have him thrown in jail for stirring up her emotions. He is scheduled for termination...

BRIANNE d'AROTH
Member of the ruling family of Bor Narga

It had nothing to do with her IQ and everything to do with her being female. And alive.
Brianne is a member of the ruling family. A public figure engaged to a dull but equally powerful man. She has no intention of running off with the Shareem in the coffee shop, and left before her sexual feelings could override her common sense. She had no idea that the beautiful man had been hauled off and scheduled for termination. She uses her considerable power on the planet of Bor Narga to have him released, but not before making an enemy of Ky.

KY
Level Three Shareem

“You like to apologize.”
Brianne flushed. “You make me feel guilty. You’re good at it.”
“Only because I’m level three. The punisher. I want you to want your punishment.”
Ky and Aiden have stuck together for the past twenty years, and he's not going to easily accept the apology of the High-Borne rich bitch that nearly had his best friend killed. He has a plan. Ky and Aiden will teach this woman what a Shareem can really do...

The three together are an explosive force. It's not long before reality comes crashing down on them all...
Aiden must reveal his true feelings for his best friend.
Ky struggles to process his growing attraction to Aiden.
Brianne must navigate a way to enjoy her Shareem in a world where they are the lowest caste of society, and she is firmly at the top...

I'll be honest, once Ky and Aiden begin to explore their growing relationship, I found Brianne to be fairly superfluous... I'm a fan of M/M Romances and would have been perfectly happy to drop the trio to a duo. That being said, when this book was first published in 2007, there weren't a lot of M/M Romances written for a female audience, especially ones which take place in the middle of a series featuring M/F relationships...

But I'm certainly fine with it :)

This story Features:
man on man action,
voyeurism,
exhibitionism,
oral sex,
vaginal sex,
anal sex,
light bondage,
spanking,
whipping,
MFM menage,
& MMF menage...

Aiden ,a Leven 1 Shareem, was almost executed when he dared flirting with Brianne, a member of the elite ruling family of Bor Narga. Brianne was clueless about this and when she finds out, she immediately orders to set him free.
Ky, a Leven 3 Shareem, is furious because his best friend almost died. So, he decides that snooty Brianne needs to be taught a lesson. What he doesn't realise is that Brianne is a genuinely nice person who cares deeply about others well-being and she is not really proud about her family heritage.

Ky, Aiden and Brianne will try to understand each other:
-Aiden wants to be with his best friend and not just in a "friendly" way.
-Ky hides things about his past that concern horrific experiments. He wants to take a step further his relationship with Aiden but he knows that this will bring only tears and pain.
-Brianne will be their bridge and their saviour.

This is the first and only MMF book of the series - although most stories include MFM scenes.
I think that for the year this book was published for the first time (2007), it was rather progressive.

Okay, I'm not in the mood for writing a full review, so I'm going to keep this simple and to the point.

I loved Ky, Aiden and their conflicted relationship. I liked Brianne, but once she had fulfilled her role in the story - to release the hidden sexual attraction between the two men, that is - and had been "rewarded" for that, she should have been taken out of the picture. The sex scenes were steamy hot, of course, but I found myself wanting to tell Brianne to leave Ky and Aiden alone, LOL.

See, this book was a good example of why ménage stories, especially the permanent ones, don't work for me. I have to believe that all the parts involved in the ménage are balanced; if I don't, I don't buy their HEA since it's impossible to think they'll make it in the long run.

Ms. James failed to make me believe that Ky, Aiden and Brianne loved each other equally, and that ruined the romance part of this book for me. I had no doubt that Ky loved Aiden, and vice versa. I also had no doubt that Brianne had "strong feelings" for both of them, but I wasn't sure she really loved them. That alone was enough to make me unhappy, but there was something "worse": I was absolutely sure that Ky and Aiden didn't love Brianne. They cared for her and returned her "strong feelings", but it wasn't love. I closed the book convinced that Ky and Aiden could have lived HEA without her, if that was the case. I almost felt sorry for her, but then I remembered that she got to have amazing sex with two hot, insatiable men on a regular basis and let it go. Maybe Ky and Aiden will grow to love her as much as they love each other in the future, who knows? *shrugs*

I do love a three way...

This trio had some obstacles to overcome! Seriously it was tense and yummy and everything about this series is very satisfying. What I love most about this series is how strong the women are. Even when they seem sweet, they don't let anyone push them around. Even if it's family members that run the planet like Brianne. This book was just another satisfying addition to the series.

...I just can't ever buy that either of the men loves the woman.

Respects her. Likes her. Sure. But I don't buy love here. Even in the sequels to this book, I never get the "actually loved" vibe between either Ky or Aiden and Brianne. I've read a lot of poly-fiction too, so I don't think this is my fault.

Read it for the sex, read it for the actual real beginning of Allyson James's universe's "levels" because you might actually buy that there are, in fact, different levels after that. Don't read it to fall in love with a m/m/f polyamorous relationship. You can totally feel the m/m love, though.

Also, another criticism of this series in general: the levels are pretty arbitrary. They're more like categories than levels. Levels implies superiority or hierarchy. So from the get-go, the word choice is less than ideal.

Finally, the author evidently over-values late-in-life virginity. It's a running theme for her in *every* Shareem book and in several of her other books (under this name and her other pen names) as well. I'm anti-virginity worshipping because it's basically slut-shaming by another name. Rejoice in your non-virgin bodies, women. And you deserve your own hero, besides.

Aiden and Ky. Well.

Another fun read, I will admit that I wondered if Brianne was needed at all but in the end I think she was a nice addition to the story.

I am now certain beyond any doubt that this series is my new guilty pleasure. This is why books are better than drugs, you can indulge in the ones that are addictive and a little bit bad for you with no adverse side affects (besides fantasising about two hot Shareem). If you are looking for something quick, easy, fun and spicy to read then this series is perfect IMO. This isn't an outstanding series that has to be read but it's great escapism and a tiny bit kinky and I for one am having great fun reading it.

3.5 hot boy on boy action stars.

Calder is next and he is what drew me in to begin with.

Tortured hero anyone?

Book 3 of the Tales of Shareem Series

AIDEN AND KY is the third book in the Tales of the Shareem series. As with the other books in the series, this is science fiction erotica. It is the story of Aiden and Ky, two Shareem who are best friends, roommates, and often participate in menage a trois together. From previous books, readers also know that Aiden is attracted to My, but hasn't told him.

Brianne is a woman from the ruling class on the planet. Her life is all planned or until she unwittingly ends up getting Aiden and Ky arrested. The three end up engaging in a serious threesome relationship.

I liked the story of these characters. I don't really get the attraction of the three way relationship but there is a good description and expression of how these three people can manage to sustain such a relationship.

Readers should be aware of what they are getting in this book because it might not appeal to standard romance readers.

Good story, good characters and chemistry. Aiden and Ky have been friends and living together for 20 years but have never had relations between themselves because Ky holds back. It is forbidden by Shareem law a programing but so have feeling and they have those. Brianne brings them together in a way other woman they have shared did not because she opens up Ky's feelings. Only problem, Ky's been conditioned to not have relations with any other Shareem.

The only issue I have with this erotic series is that she explains level 3s as D/s, Dom sub with bondage and intensity and really there is nothing like that in here, just some spanking and tying of hands. So if you are looking for that, look elsewhere. Even Rees only had a little more. I avoided these thinking they would be over the top BDSM and ended up a little disappointed that there wasn't at least a little more.

Usually at this far in a series you are like me been there done that. You know what is going to happen. Not in the series the author keeps it fresh and exciting. This follows a forbidden tail for the Shareem and I loved it. Must read!

Brianne (h) was superfluous to the ending. The ending should have been between Aiden and Ky only as they really did love each other.

Some good man on man action, mystery as to why Ky can’t love Aiden like he wants. We don’t find out if Brianne is able to change the Shareem laws or not, maybe that happens in future stories.
Brianne is the granddaughter of the ruler of the planet. She sees Aiden in a bar one night and he gets arrested by her guards and sentenced to death. She finds out about it and sets him free. She makes it up to him and Ky by having a dalliance on the train. They spend another night together and she falls for them. Aiden has loved Ky for years but has never acted on it. Ky had some nasty experiments done on him and is afraid of Aiden’s affections.
It all works out in the end.

I started this series years ago and enjoyed picking it up again. It is set on another planet in a matriarchal society that has moved beyond sex. At least that’s what many think, but the Shareem were genetically designed for lovin’, but are now treated as second class citizens.

The book was fun and sexy af. The writing got a bit repetitive, but it was a good book.

The whole Tales of Shareem series I highly recommended - the are fun, witty, sexy/hot, usually involve good plots and characters.
[Oh while writing this review just read that next book in series Braden is due to come out on 16Mar11 - yeh yeh]
Aiden and Ky is the only book in the series that I put off reading as I had my doubts about it [also only book in series with m/m] but based on other good reviews I gave in and decided to give the book a go. Unfortunately most of my doubts came to fruit including:
* book not really having much of a storyling [action/adventure the others had] other than m/m relationship development leaving the book kinda boring compared to the others; skipping over the m/m scenes which were really too long made a smoother read;
* I mostly liked the heroine Brianne but the writing of her character wasn't consistent and the plot was not believable that the two males "supposedly" fell in love with her just because they said they did. Given how into each other the two guys were and the innner dialogue was m/m even when they were with Brianne - left Brianne coming out an unfair third best. Given what Brianne would have to give up [and put up with] to be with Ky and Aiden this made it particularly so and the boys seemed quite capable of being happy with or without Brianne.
It's not an especially bad read and I'm not recommending against it - worth a read if you can get it for free or under $4 and you've read the rest of the series and desperate for another fix. Current price on amazon.com and Ellora's Cave website [cheaper] are too high for the quality of the book. The price seems to be coming from the popularity of the rest of the series which are brilliant and I can not recommend more:
Rees (Tales of the Shareem, #1); Maia and Rylan (Tales of the Shareem, #2); Rio (Tales of the Shareem, #3); Calder (Tales of the Shareem, #5); Eland (Tales of the Shareem, #5.5) - FREEBIE; and now Braden (Tales of the Shareem, #6) coming out 16Mar11.

"Aiden and Ky" by Allyson James. Book 3 in the Tales of the Shareem series.

An interesting addition to this sci-fi erotica romance series. This book deals with a threesome of characters; Aiden, Ky and Brianne. So off the bat, if you don't like reading about m/m relationships, then this book is not for you. Otherwise, it's actually a really good book.

Being an erotic novel, there is m/f/m menage, m/m sex , m/f sex and voyeurism found in this book. Also a look into a BDSM "play room" that (in the story) level three Shareems like to go and can be themselves with their willing partner(s).

Basic story line in this book as with all the others. Ky and Aiden have been best friends and roommates for forever. Ky is a level three Shareem and a total Dom and Aiden is a level one Shareem into sensuality. Aiden has been hiding his feeling for Ky for some time now. But when Aiden is arrested and set to be terminated, Ky won't let it happen. When Aiden and Ky find out that Brianne d'Aroth is the one who had Aiden arrested, they plan to punish Brianne the only way they know how. Brianne never thought a misunderstanding would end up with her wanting not one Shareem but two Shareem. Aiden and Ky are so different but each of them just may be what she needs.

The story line with Ky is actually a lot more in depth and really quite sad. Take out the sex part of the book and the story line is really quite emotional. A lot more Shareem are introduced in this book leaving many more story lines to be explored.

I'm really enjoying this series and I will definitely be reading more of them.

Allyson James made a place for herself long ago on my keepers shelf and I have yet to see one of her books not end up there for me. I got this one yesterday and I don't usually take my more smutty romances to work but this I couldn't resist. Aiden is a level one and a complete sweetheart. He makes you want to snuggle him and then - uh wel I'm sure you get the picture. Ky is serious badass material with his level three abilities and Brianne is the lucky lady who finds herself between a rock and hard place with these two. (Pardon the pun, I had to do it!) When she inadvertantly gets both Shareem arrested, Brianne goes about making things right. Even if it means being lured into sexual games by two Shareem. With one taste of their wicked delights, she is literally begging for more and Ky and Aiden really can't say no. The relationship between Aiden and Ky is nice to see and honestly could have made the book even if Brianne wasn't in there - the two of them are truly that hot together. As always my thanks go out to this lovely author who has made me succumb yet again to the sensual bliss that is the Shareem.

Brianne, a woman of the ruling family of Bor Narga, is horrified to learn she is the cause of two Shareem being arrested and one on the roll to being terminated. Quickly she gets them released with sincere apologizes.
But Ky, a level three Shareem, is beyond pissed over the situation, Aiden level one, his best friend almost got terminated for simply looking at Brianne. Ky wants to punish her for it.
Brianne finds herself in a train car with both Ky and Aiden, and they show her a sample of what it is like to be with a Shareem. It is the start of a complicated but very HOT relationship between the three especially when Ky and Aiden are kissing and touching as well. Ky,Brianne and Aiden are falling for each other quickly.
But Ky does not let it go far with Aiden because to him it is forbidden and it is dangerous for him.
With Brianne between them it is fine. But when Ky and Aiden go farther it becomes deadly to Ky.
Brianne with Dr. Laas saves Ky.
Now they can be together without any danger, now they just need to get Brianne to stay with for life. Which she has no problem with.

Aiden and Ky was a great book to read.

Some of these tales are fun and the characters have real problems to solve. This one just did not have any of the same pull. It was mainly the attraction between the two main characters and how they admit their love and how they present it to the rest of the Shareem when they love both a woman and each other. Seemed a little flat compared to some of the other tales.

ok, so i'm not usually one for M/M books or even things that involve M/M. As a woman i find it hard to relate so i generally just dont go there. But i really liked this. I really felt like i connected with the characters and the story line was excellent.

Aiden, Ky & Brianne are all fabulous! Of course i have beautiful picture of Aiden in my head...Whooo can anyone spell HOT! Damn!

The three together is a bit of a weird but wonderful thing. I'm really glad Dr Laas managed to help Ky out and im wondering why no one had heard of it beforehand! Jeezzz, 20 years and know one knew. To that matter i am also wondering that if no one knew and Rio mentioned Aiden and Ky to Dr Laas why she even thought there would be problem, but i just put that down to her hearing about other shareem.

This is book is packed full of sex and sexy scenes and generally i would say anyone who is a bit on the prude-ish side should steer clear of this series altogether.

A great book, great ending and an all round great series to far!

Great entry [#4:] in the Shareem series. Contains menage and m/m sex...

from the author's site:
Brianne, a member of the elite ruling family of Bor Narga, is horrified when she inadvertently causes the arrest of two decadent Shareem — men genetically created to provide women ultimate pleasure. They are nearly terminated before she can get them released, and she wants to make amends.

Little does she know that Ky, angry over the near loss of his best friend Aiden, will find an exquisite way to make her pay. Raised to believe that carnality has no place in civilized life, Brianne suddenly finds herself schooled by not one, but two Shareem.

But Ky doesn't realize that their threesome games will stir to life his buried feelings for Aiden, and that a deadly secret from Ky's past will emerge to put him — and their newfound love — in danger.

This fantasy MMF romance between a high-ranking human female (Brianne), and two male Shareems (genetically engineered sex slaves, Aiden and Ky) felt somewhat detached. I finally worked out why, it was the constant reminders that the Shareem and their sex skills were engineered, which ruined the fantasy for me. By emphasizing the constructed nature of the Shareem's appendages and sexual abilities it all seemed so mechanical and I found it difficult to get into the story.

This is a very good MMF story. This menage was well done to me. You have people who come together due to a misunderstanding that almost cost Aiden his life. Though it took a while for Brianna to admit that she was a sexual being, when she did she jumped in with two feet, lol. While Ky was dealing with feeling he wasn't ready for with Aiden, because his body had been programmed to send him into pain and shock, when he tried to love another Shareem. It is an interesting and entertaining read. Enjoy I did.

LOoed this one!! The contrast between Aiden and Ky is smoking hot. A fair and sensual level 1 with a masterful dark Dom level 3. I have no problem with M/M sex and this one makes you want to join in. Im almost jealous of the beautiful Brianna that captures there attention and love as she gets to share all around and watch this two hunks make passionate love to each other as well. Great for the open minded individual who enjoys the more kinky side of things ;)

This is the third book in the "Tales of the Shareem" series. All of the books in this series are VERY ADULT in content. It has an interesting flow in the story between the main characters. Ky, Aiden, and Brianne each brought something good and something very broken to their relationship. I loved being able to get so much more information on the Shareem and what their lives where like before the demise of the company that created them.

On my second trip into the world of the Shareem, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even though I didn't really connect with Brianne, I love her championing the cause of our boys and definitely envied her their attentions. Still, it felt to me like the story was more about Ky and Aiden's relationship and Brianne was playing the role of benefactress/playmate. Not that this was a bad thing. The plot was better than average for ER, the hot scenes were hot, I don't have many complaints at all.
