K.L. Parsons's Love Under Snowfall, the second installment in the Stranded in Leavenworth series, is a delightful read that stands strong on its own merits. Although I wasn’t aware that it was a sequel, the book managed to capture my interest and provide an engaging experience, even if some references to the first book piqued my curiosity.

The story follows Frankie, the sister of the male lead from Love by a Landslide, as she navigates grad school and an antagonistic relationship with her professor, Benjamin Clark. The tension between them, intensified by a snowstorm that forces them into close quarters, sparks a series of revelations and unexpected chemistry. Parsons adeptly uses the forced proximity trope to build tension and develop a compelling romance.

One of the book’s strengths lies in its vibrant character development. The interactions between Frankie and Benji, initially marked by hostility and misunderstanding, evolve into a nuanced and heartfelt connection. This transformation is portrayed with skill, making the progression of their relationship both believable and engaging. The supporting characters, who were more prominent in the previous book, add charm and depth to the narrative, enriching the overall experience.

While the story does include elements from the first book, which left me wishing for a bit more context, it didn’t significantly detract from my enjoyment. The glimpses of past plotlines added intrigue but also highlighted the benefit of reading the series in order.

As for the upcoming third book in the series, which will focus on Zac, I’m cautiously optimistic. Although Zac wasn’t my favorite character in this installment, I’m intrigued by the potential for a redemption arc and am eager to see how his story develops.

Overall, Love Under Snowfall is a sweet and entertaining rom-com, perfect for fans of the forced proximity trope. The witty banter and romantic tension make it a fun read, though occasional cringe-worthy moments momentarily pulled me out of the story. If you enjoy a good romance with a touch of humor and the charm of a snowy setting, this book is worth picking up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC.

I was really excited about this book after reading the description as it had some of my favourite tropes (enemies to loves, forced proximity, small town) but it ended up being a struggle to finish this book and not DNF it. I just could not get invested in the characters and felt like they had no chemistry. They both gave me the ick throughout the book – personally I feel phrases like her “loins screamed in protest” and “her tits were more buoyant than usual, so he’d been pretty distracted” should not be used seriously in a romance book. I kept reading hoping that the ending of the story would make up for this but both characters were really stubborn and not great communicators so by the end I almost wanted to throw my Kindle across the room. Again, this is just my personal opinion regarding those tropes.
After reading this book and meeting the MMC of book 3, I don’t think I will be picking up the next one.

Thank you Net Galley, Victory Editing and K.L. Parsons for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.5 stars rounded down. I really loved the majority of this book. There's nothing better than two people who despise each other realizing there's a very fine line between love and hate!

I didn't read the first Stranded in Leavenworth book, but I'm absolutely going back to read it. The characters from that story make several appearances in this one. This story focuses on Frankie, a woman who goes back to school for her masters degree and ends up with a very rude (but very sexy) teacher. Turns out they have one very important person in common, and they stand up in his wedding together. There's dual POV and several instances of forced proximity.

I was squealing, laughing, and feeling all the feels while reading this book. I love when two damaged people open up to each other and find love. There's good character development and the story is excellent. The only complaint I have is that there's a grand romantic gesture and then the book ends. There's no falling action, no epilogue and that left it feeling a tad incomplete to me.

I love a book set close to home, where I can recognize geography or other points of interest. The familiarity can be comforting, which is what motivated me to explore K.L. Parsons' Stranded in Leavenworth series.

Where Love By a Landslide was cute and sweet, Love Under Snowfall just fell kind of flat. The grumpy MMC/sunshine FMC held promise, but the execution was off: inconsistent pacing, out-of-character actions, awkward dialogue. It needed more show, don't tell, a la the frequent use of "a short while later" paragraph openers.

Further, the book could've used an extra layer of editing. There were numerous misspellings of Benjamin's name as Benajmin (eye twitch). Plus a bit of a miscommunication trope, which is just not my jam.

I was so excited to receive a digital reviewer copy of this book. Thank you Victory Editing, NetGalley and K.L. Parsons for this opportunity in exchange for my review.

Love Under Snowfall by K.L. Parsons is the second book in the series Stranded in Leavenworth. I will start off by saying I did not read the first book in the series and while this book read well as a standalone, I would have understood the relationships of some characters to each other sooner had I started with book 1. I will definitely be reading it soon!

This is the story of two people with rather troublesome childhoods. The main characters, Frankie and Benjamin, were influenced by their challenging pasts in very different ways. Frankie chose to use her experiences as fuel to make a positive impact on the world while Benjamin remained jaded and chose a more ruthless route. While he made some positive changes before the characters met, he still had an opportunity for growth and redemption.

The character development seemed realistic for both of the main characters and while our grumpy MMC was gruff, his past life experiences made his personality and behavior understandable. Professor Benjamin Clark is a classic sexy grump. I loved when his vulnerable side was revealed. He is humbled and redeems himself over time thanks to Frankie’s influence so he becomes a more lovable character as the story unfolds.

Frankie is the kind of friend everyone wants. She loves with her whole heart and works hard to make the world a better place. She has grit and determination and doesn’t let our grumpy MMC get the best of her.

This particular book was an enemies to lovers romance, one of my favorite tropes! I never tire of them. Parson’s adds another trope I love, brother’s best friend!

The two main characters are working at being civil with one another during the wedding week festivities of Frankie’s brother who also happens to be Benjamin’s best friend. They are getting along and their banter is enjoyable. Frankie and Benjamin are paired up for an outdoor adventure a few days before the wedding. They experience some misfortune and the anxiety provoking incident leads to a forced proximity scenario (yet another favorite trope of mine). The two have a chance to get to know one another on a deeper level and we finally get a long awaited romantic encounter! I honestly don’t know how the characters held out for so long!!

I enjoyed so much about this book - the characters and their development, the fun story line, and the seasonal element. I looked up Leavenworth, WA and would love to go there for a winter vacation!!

This book had high angst that didn’t resolve as quickly as some other romances which caused me some discomfort! I would have loved to learn a little more about the MCs long term outcome together. It felt like an abrupt ending and I just wanted more of this couple. Maybe we will hear more about Frankie and Benjamin in book #3!

I was confused about a random chapter from another character’s POV about 75% of the way through the book. It threw me off and that chapter didn’t flow as well as the rest of the book, however, I assume it was intentional based on an announcement about book #3. This may be a common occurrence for this author.

On my way to read book #1 and looking forward to the release of book #3!!

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the grumpy/sunshine of Benjamin and Frankie though it seems a little odd that he was best friends with her older brother for years and they never met previously.

Benjamin is damaged from the divorce his parents went through and the subsequent effect it had on his mother before she passed away so he never lets anyone get close to him. He likes routine, but really he needs to keep control over everything in his life in order to keep a tight rein on his emotions. But then he meets Frankie and despite everything she's been through, she's happy, bubbly and wants to help people. She might find it difficult to trust people but she's at least open to the possibility of it.

The two first met when Benjamin was her professor for a family law class Frankie was taking as part of her social worker degree. He doesn't like having her in his class and tries to make it so difficult for her that she drops it, but she's determined to make it through the class and when the semester is over, she'll never have to see him again. Except, he's her brother's best man and they end up being paired together during a pre-wedding activity of snowshoeing where of course, they get lost and then a storm rolls in and they have to take refuge in a cabin in the woods.

While they're holed up together, they get to know each other a bit more but Benjamin still holds back from her, convinced he will somehow destroy her if he lets himself be with Frankie.

The spice was good! Benjamin is pretty laced up most of the time, but when he lets himself go he's dominant and has a very filthy mouth! Love it! Frankie is not shy about what she wants when it comes to sex and is more than happy to tell him exactly what she wants from him.

Title: Love Under Snowfall

Author: K.L. Parsons

Review:

I recently read Love Under Snowfall, the second book in K.L. Parsons's Stranded in Leavenworth series. While I hadn't realized it was a sequel, the story stood well on its own, though reading the first book might have provided additional context.

The plot centers around a professor and a student who, after a strained relationship, find themselves stuck in a snowstorm together. The forced proximity in such a dramatic setting leads to unexpected revelations and sparks between them. The tension and eventual chemistry between the characters are handled with skill, making for a compelling and immersive read.

One of the highlights of this book is its engaging plot and well-developed characters. The supporting characters, who were the main focus in the previous installment, added significant charm and depth to the story. Their interactions were a notable strength and contributed to the book's overall appeal.

The book does include plot reveals from the first installment, which, while intriguing, made me wish I had read the series in order. However, this didn’t significantly detract from my enjoyment of the story.

The upcoming book in the series will feature Zac, who wasn't my favorite character in this book. Despite this, I appreciate a good redemption arc and am curious to see how his story unfolds so I will be continuing the series.

Overall, I would recommend this book to someone looking for a good forced proximity, cute, sweet rom-com.

Frankie Miller, is going back to grad school after ten years, She didn’t think her first day would involve butting heads with her law professor, Benjamin Clark. Despite his rough attitude, she’s determined to stay on track for her dream job while looking forward to her brother’s December wedding. Little does she know, her strict professor is also the best man in the wedding. When a snowshoeing trip goes wrong and leaves them stranded, they’re forced to deal with their growing attraction while figuring out how to survive the blizzard.

This book was such a great read, taking you through the story of Frankie and Benjamin. Frankie and Benjamin's story has a rocky start, but as they find themselves in Leavenworth, their story takes a turn giving them the nudge they needed. I enjoyed the story not being the typical MMC being the hero, rescuing the FMC.

Frankie is smart, tough, and determined. I loved her attitude to challenges, unafraid to face them head on. She's bold and despite her experiences growing up, she chooses to be the person to make the good changes. Her genuine warmth and forgivingness is exactly what Benjamins needed. While Benjamin can be frustrating, it's hard to not like him because of his childhood experiences. I found that he was logical and understood where he was coming from. He certainly displayed a lot of growth throughout the story.

Like Parsons' first book, this one had all the outdoor fun to it. We get a glimpse on how the previous book's MCs are doing, and are happily reunited with the side characters as well. The book ends a little abruptly, but certainly paves the way for the next story.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC read!

I love reading books that are in places that I have been to! It makes envisioning the world so much more interactive. I don’t live far from Leavenworth, so when KL describes this place, I can fully picture, smell, taste, and immerse myself into this magical place. If you ever have the chance to visit this adorable mountain town, I highly, highly recommend it.

Ok, moving onto the book itself! Remember Jonathan from book 1? Well our FMC in this book, Frankie, is his younger sister! And our MMC, Benji, is his best friend! Already a favorite trope and I love the connection to book 1. What starts out as a forbidden romance, he’s also her teacher, turns into a sweet romance where chemistry is flying off the pages, unexpected truths are shared, and romance blossoms.

Franki and Benji are vibrant, layered, deep characters. Their relationship begins full of dislike, hostility, and misunderstandings. However, KL develops this relationship in such a realistic way, it was beautiful to read about. They are relatable, end up truly caring for each other, and are a couple you are routing for the whole time.

KL has a talent for character development, perfectly woven story lines, and a love for her books. She intertwines romance, humor, banter, and deep conversation, it is easy to forget you are reading. If you want a rom-com that is set in a real world place, is sweet and heartwarming, and a HEA; this is your book and KL needs to be an author you read more of.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

A cute little romance that was organized like a 3- act play that was very enjoyable and fun. The dual POV adds to the story by giving you insight about the character motivations and thoughts.

Frankie Miller is going back to school to get her masters in social work. Her advisor suggested she take a family law class and she is put into Professor Benjamin Clark’s class. Professor Clark is a young hard nosed teacher who expects nothing short of perfection from his students. He embarrasses her on the first day because he isn’t happy to have her in his class (she's not a law student) and they become fast enemies. She won’t back down and quit the class and he does everything to get her to fail.

Over winter break, Frankie returns home for her brother's wedding and is floored when she meets her brother's best man Benji (aka Professor Clark!) The tension grows into a fierce attraction between them and when they get stranded in a cabin during a winter storm, these two act on their attraction but Benji, not a believer in relationships, quickly tells her it was nothing even though deep down he wants to explore things with her. Can these two ever get on the same page and keep the attraction between them burning?

Benji was wishy-washy, always attracted to her but he flipped and flopped over her a lot. He also was jealous when she talked to other guys and turned into an alpha male even though he pushed her away.

The supporting characters could have been flushed out a bit more. I lost track of who they were and had to think about it when they popped up in the story. It's also partially my fault for not reading the first book in this series between Frankie’s brother and Lucy.

This ended as a HEA for now. Didn't get endgame vibes with these two. He clearly has some issues with marriage and she is attracted to him but I never got the vibe that she actually likes him as they don't know much about each other.

A cute romance that can be read by a cozy fire with some hot coco :)

Frankie starts off on the completely wrong foot with her hot family law professor. After stumbling in 12 minutes late and unprepared Professor Clark is beyond irked. What is a social worker student doing in a L2 class? Things continue to be dicey with them throughout the semester. After completing the class Frankie is beyond relieved to be done with Professor Prick, but life seems to have other plans. The pair get thrown together and end up stranded together in a remote snowed in cabin. The temperature outside might be freezing, but the cabin is burning with tension between Frankie and Benji. Will Benji and Frankie be able to work through there differences outside the cabin or will their romance fade in the real world?

Enemies to lovers
Grumpy sunshine ☀️
Stranded, forced proximity
One bed
Dual POV

This was a quick, fun read! I enjoyed Frankie’s witty remarks, and funny inner monologue. I wasn’t a fan of Benji, even towards the end. He was rude, insecure, and a bit obtuse. And the structure of the story line felt a bit off. I think it would make more sense if the story started in Leavenworth with flashbacks to the semester. Just felt like a long build-up to the actual story line.

All in all though this was a cute, quick read. This is good for people who like outdoorsy romance adventures with some spice and a grumpy sunshine pair! Thanks NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley and the author for giving me an arc to read this book before it is published in exchange for an honest review.

This book is full of romance, enemies to lovers and teacher with student? What best to ask for. I really loved all the interactions throughout the book. The characters are funny, humorous and seem to attract chaos which I like as it adds spice to the story.
I initially didn’t realise that this was a book two and I haven’t read the first one. But in all honesty, I didn’t struggle to get along with the characters, it reads well as a standalone. You can quickly understand who is who and regardless of what happens in book one it’s absolutely fine to read this book without the background information.

The chapter where they end up stranded alone in a snowy mountains is a great part of the book. The forced proximity is really well written and is probably my favourite part of this book. This a slow burn to this book that I really liked and it made the story more believable which is sometimes missed in romance books.
The front cover is really pretty and I would easily pick that up in a bookshop as it makes me feel attracted to it and you can quickly guess what the book is about.

If I had to take a star off I would say it’s because the story could have had a bit more depth to it, more descriptions, more dialogues to some parts and maybe a slightly longer book.

✨ARC Review ✨

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Love Under Snowfall by K L Parsons is a wholesome romance with a bit of all the right romance tropes mixed together.

So the good parts... All the tropes are my favourite... Be it enemies to lovers, professor × student, forced proximity or brother's best friend... So definitely, the author had me there. The spice scenes were perfect! And a surprising twist for me was that one chapter from Zac's POV. His character deserved it after all he got throughout the story. It was much needed!

Now for the not so good parts... I felt the main characters were missing something, but I quite couldn't put a finger on it... It just didn't feel wholesome the way it should have! That's it! Nothing else except maybe the fact that the author wrote it from a third person POV, because I always prefer first or second person POV. But considering how wonderful the whole book has been, this isn't much of an issue at all.

4/5 stars for me. One star less only because that lack of wholesomeness!

And if these tropes excite you,
⛷️ Enemies to Lovers
⛷️ Grumpy × Sunshine
⛷️ Brother's best friend
⛷️ Professor × Student
⛷️ Stranded / Forced Proximity
⛷️ One Bed
⛷️ Dual POV
Then definitely try this.

Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, and K. L. Parsons for the early access copy of Love Under Snowfall.

Love Under Snowfall is the story of Francesca “Frankie” Miller and Benjamin Clark, told in a dual-point-of-view. Frankie is a graduate student, who on her first day makes an enemy out of her law school professor by showing up late and unprepared. While she is taking her master's in social work, she is trialing a cross-discipline course with Family Law. Much to Professors Clark's dismay. Professor Benjamin Clark is determined to make Frankie's life as hard as it can be.

When Benjamin prepares to be the best-man at his best friend's wedding, he suddenly learns his best friend's sister happens to be Frankie. Guilt ridden from tormenting and lusting after Frankie, Benjamin is determined to strike a truce with Frankie at the wedding in hopes of not adding stress to his best friend. While Frankie can't get over how much of a prick her professor has been, she can't deny her attraction to him. Determined to spend as small amount of time during their truce and the wedding, Frankie is suddenly thrust into a bad situation when a pre-wedding excursion leads to Benjamin and Frankie to be secluded with nothing but their frustrations and temptations.

Love Under Snowfall was hard to put down. It is an enemies-to-lovers, brother's best friend, spicy romcom with witty banter,

"Love Under Snowfall" is the second book in K.L. Parson's "Stranded in Leavenworth" series. This book has the very popular "enemies to lovers" trope which Parsons uses to maximum success. In this book, Francesca "Frankie" is going back to graduate school after a long academic hiatus, and is determined to become a social worker to help kids in the foster care system just like she was. Her college requirements force her to take family law, a topic with which she is entirely unsure of. It doesn't help that her law professor is a stickler and insists on perfection. It doesn't hurt, however, that he's her age and very hot. Sparks fly between them, and the two battle in a clash of wills all semester long. When the semester is over, they meet up again hours away from school at her brother's wedding. This time, there's nothing keeping them from discovering exactly what the two have developing between them.

This book was fun, steamy, and exhilarating! I enjoy the "enemies to lovers" trope, along with the two being snowed in the cabin together. As a foster parent myself, I appreciated Frankie's desire to help kids in the foster care system and really resonated with that side storyline. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

🌶🌶️🌶️ (2.5/5)

This was such a cutesy, wintery vibe with some of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, brother’s best friend. An author can do no wrong with The Holy Trinity in their book.

I absolutely loved the first 70% of this book. It was very fast-paced and easy to keep saying “one more chapter” especially because the chapters were short.

But the last 30% lost me…especially when the miscommunication came in… nope. Sorry, I just can’t. Had to drop a star. This is my least favorite trope and just prolongs the third act break up when it can be resolved with a simple conversation.

Going into this, I didn’t know Love Under Snowfall was the second book in the Stranded in Leavenworth series. It absolutely can be read as a standalone, I had no problem learning the characters and following along. However, I’m the type that needs to read a series in order just because that’s who I am. 🥲 I really enjoyed the descriptions, dialogue, and characters so I will definitely be going back to read the first. And I will definitely be reading the third one once it comes out.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this. All thoughts are my own.🫶🏻

Back to Leavenworth, we go for another adventure romance, this time featuring Frankie and Benji.
This one still has all the small town feels of book 1, except this time we have some fun dynamics like teacher/student, enemies to lovers, and she's his best friends little sister!!! There's drama, a little angst, some spice, and a HFN ending.
Watching "Professor Pr!ck" unravel was fun, and frankie is a firecracker! Their banter and chemistry was great, and the slow burn/push-pull between them was delicious.
While book 2 did feature a separate couple, we still got to see our favourites from book 1 like Todd, who will always be the star of the show and we also got a continuation of Lucy and Jon's story as well.
Book 3 is going to feature Zac and I can't wait to see where the author is going to go with him because he's a perpetual playboy and a complete train wreck by the end of book 2!

Thank you NetGalley, Victory Editing and NetGalley Co-op and K.L. Parsons for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read the first in this series so I was excited to read this one as well. I really enjoyed Frankie. She’s a strong, intelligent and ambitious woman. She’s going to get her masters and ends up with a tough, grumpy (sexy) professor that does everything to get her out of his class.

After a semester of conflict and running into each other, they find themselves both standing up in Frankie’s brother’s wedding.

Benjamin had parts I enjoyed and parts that were hard to look past. He has shut off a lot of his emotions and relationship skills.

My only complaint is that the grand gesture happens and then the book ends. There’s no follow up on the relationship, how Jon, Lucy and Todd react, how they progress, etc. I’m sure there will be an update in book #3 but I wish more was included in this book to finish up their story.

I really enjoyed this book. With it being 90° out it’s hard to imagine the snow so thick and to be so cold as Frankie and Benji were. They sure knew how to warm each other up! Benjamin was an uptight hard shell of a man due to his childhood. Turning into a man that he himself didn’t like and didn’t think he deserved kindness. No matter how much he tried to sabotage something good in his life he just couldn’t give up something that felt so right. Frankie had her fair share of a rotten childhood but blossomed for the better. These two complimented each other so well ( grumpy vs sunshine)! I need to read Lucy and Jonathan’s story, the first in the series. I’m also looking forward to Zac’s story coming soon. With his shenanigans in this book I think he has a lot to unpack and is going to need a good woman to help! Thank you to NetGalley for this free advanced copy, I’m leaving this review voluntarily

I really enjoyed reading this book. It kind of gave me Legally Blonde vibes in the beginning. I loved that Frankie was fierce and didn’t give up when Benjamin was being a jerk. She didn’t let his attitude affect her education. I also enjoyed getting to hear her reasons for choosing the career she chose and why she ended up in him class. Benjamin was such a hard character to like in the beginning. However, finding out they’re in the same wedding for Frankie’s brother, we slowly get to see a different side of him. I did enjoy reading their interactions, especially while being stranded together and how Frankie helped Benjamin realize he wanted different things in his life. I loved getting to see the characters from book 1. Overall, I thought it was a great story and I would recommend!

I loved this book. The story follows the sister (FMC- Frankie) of the MMC of Love by a Landslide (Book 1) as she follows through and enters grad school to get her MSW. Her Family Law class is the focus of the first several chapters and the interactions between Frankie and her professor, Benjamin Clark, Esq., who wants nothing more than for Frankie to drop or fail his class. Frankie's determination allows her to finish the class despite the unprovoked dislike of the professor for having a MSW student in his law class. Throughout the term, there is an undercurrent of feelings that neither want to admit.

After the term is over, the story follows Frankie and Benji through multiple ups and downs while being in a forced proximity. Personal acknowledgement and growth between the two lead to a budding relationship that both seem scared to admit to. They eventually separate due to fear of ruining what could be the best relationship either of them have ever had.

The ending finds them getting back together after both of them had had time for personal enlightenment.

Overall, you could see where this was heading, but Parsons wrote it well enough that you just had to keep reading to see what would happen. The supporting cast was excellent, especially Todd. If you like the outdoors, and a good romance book, get this book. you won't be disappointed.

Want a kick your feet feel good read that reads so relatable!

Benjamin is a buttoned up rule following attorney turned law professor who is none to happy to have his class disrupted by a vibrant and unapologetically authentic Francesca(Frankie)!

They soon find out that their lives are about to get a whole lot closer as they are the maid of honor and best man for Frankie’s brother wedding (Jon from book 1). As part for the pre wedding fun the group goes snowshoeing in the mountains of Washington… and you guessed it, the snowfall is fresh and they get separated from the group! They have to rely on each other for survival. They get very close emotionally and physically… Parson weaves such believable emotions, life events and character growth into her stories. It was fun to see develop. And the ending gave me goosebumps!
This book as
Forced proximity
Professor x student
Main characters in their 30’s
Uptight vs vivacious
Best friends sister

Can’t wait for book 3!

Deeeelightful. After reading Lucy and Jonathan's story in the first book, I wasn't sure if the follow-up stories would be as sweet. Sometimes in a sequel about other characters, all you want is more time with the first ones that you've already loved. Well, guess what? I love Benjamin and Frankie now, too!

I have a hard time calling him Benji, because he's so BENJAMIN. But I loved the grumpy/sunshine vibe they gave off. Frankie was sweet. She was too forgiving, I think, but ultimately it would have worked out the same, and I love that for her... perhaps we should all learn to be quick to forgive IF we know people have truly changed.

So glad I met the author and after chatting decided to get all 3 books. I'm looking forward to book 3, but VERY nervous. I do NOT like Zac. There was only one redeeming moment that only involved him indirectly, so I'm hoping we're going to build on more of that!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!
Love Under Snowfall is a cute, easy read! Perfect for fans of small town romance with open door spicy scenes. This is technically the second book in the series but they’re more like interconnected standalones and I didn’t feel as though I was missing any context by not having read the first. The characters from the first book are present, and enough of their backstory is included so you won’t feel lost. I’m a sucker for a snowed in situation and there were lots of tropes to be had - professor/student, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, best friend’s sister - so I decided to jump into the series with this one. While I did find some phrasings/situations a tad awkward, there were more that were funny and I still enjoyed the read. If you like outdoorsy contemporaries, give the Stranded in Leavenworth series a try!

This is such a cute book!
It was exactly what I needed. Light, easy rom com, enemies to lovers, teacher- student- but only for a part of the book, few lovely spicy scenes that made me smile so so much.
Benjamin is not perfect, yet, he was really amazing. He wasn't acting like a child, wasn't annoying. He handled all the problems very well. I also love the name Benjamin so much.
Francesca is great, too. Hard working, passionate, full of love for her family and friends. Both characters handled what happeded in their past very well.
I really like Frankie's brother a lot, too.
This is a super cozy winter book situated in nice witer town. Take a blanket, hot cocoa, and read this cute story. Just enough spice and sweetness to get you through the winter.

Thank you to Net Gallery shelf for eARC.

This is book 2 in the Leavenworth series, following Frankie (Jonathan’s sister from book 1) and Benjamin, her professor. This definitely had a different tone than book one, and was way more spicier and more cursing. I just didn’t love the main characters and felt like this was more lust than romance. Frankie was taking Benjamin’s law class to help with her social work studies and he was mad she wasn’t a law student and therefore was unnecessarily a turd to her. I just didn’t get his whole vibe and backstory. I just would have liked more connection between them. I’m still going to read book 3, but this wasn’t my favorite.

Thank you Victory Editing Netgalley Co-op for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

While I really enjoyed Jonathan and Lucy's story, this one didn't hit the same spot for me.
The nature descriptions are still on point in this one, and made me wish for a snow storm and a lit fireplace.
I liked both characters background stories as well as Frankie's inspiration. And God I love Todd! He really needs to be in all other books of this series!
I find Benjamin to be a little too rigid. Which is probably why I didn't believe in this "enemy to lovers vibe". And even if the best man issue is addressed in the book I feel like it's a bit farfetched.

I want to thank NetGalley, the publisher and K.L. Parsons for this ARC.

This was just an okay read for me.
It had everything i usually enjoy: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed, and grumpy vs. sunshine.
It was an overall cute story, but there were just some things I didn't like about it.
I felt like the FMC was made to seem younger than she actually was, and the MMC was made to seem older than he was.
I wasn't a fan of the style of writing, and i didn't like how the writing was made to seem younger when in the FMC's POV vs. the MMC's POV.
They were only supposed to be a few years apart.
I'm not knocking the age gap trope! I just didn't like that it seemed like the gap was larger than it actually was.
There was also a decent amount of spice!
It wasn't my favorite book, but it was still an okay read!

He's right he should have suffered

It's a nothing burger of a novel. The harrowing tale was less life-threatening and more mildly inconvenient. He doesn't do anything. She's the one that makes the effort. And all he does is look hot. He knows how to cook. He knows how to lay down pipe but, this is the bare minimum. I'm not excited to read a novel where the woman is awesome and the man is stunted. He should be begging her everyday to marry him. She is awesome: big heart, tough, a fighter, self-sufficient, smart, and emotionally mature. Heck, I'd marry her. The fact that she thinks you are worth her time and attention is a gift. The fact that he wouldn't visit his friend when he lost his dad and later his wife is a pretty clear indication of the type of person he is.

Received as an arc from NetGalley and the author.

Book two in the Leavenworth series follows Frankie and Benjamin who find themselves in winter time trouble. I was excited to read this one as I enjoyed the first book Love in a Landslide so much. Love under Snowfall was an enjoyable easy read, but didn't include the same snappy banter that was so fun in the first book.

I did find the ending anti-climactic, wishing for another chapter or two or an epilogue to get more of a conclusion on the characters story. Hopefully they are included in the next book, although based on who the focus will be doesn't seem very likely. But I will just have to wait and see when it comes out.
