The Elite, a guild comprised exclusively of dragon riders, is dead according to most. No one has seen a rider in decades. The problems they used to fight overwhelm the world. Dragons are thought to be near extinction.
However, the Elite aren’t dead…
It’s just that a bunch of crusty, old men who do nothing that benefits the world at large are easy to mistake as useless corpses.
Sophia Beaufont is about to change all of that.
When the dragon egg that magnetized to her hatches, it sets Sophia on a new course. The Elite are immediately notified. She’s expected to train. To defend. To fight.
Sophia is ready to conquer evil, as the dragon riders should have been doing for centuries.
However, the Elite have been turning a blind eye, allowing the world to be overrun by criminals.
That’s all about to change.
S. Beaufont isn’t a girl who will be told to sit down and relax when a war is brewing that only a dragon rider can extinguish.

This set of books confusing and rather childish. Let me explain. At the start of book one. The description of the characters and the domicile is hard to follow because the castle is forever changing and sometimes mixed up with whom is speaking. The main character is a girl called Sofia Beaufont. She is a girl who magnetises to a Dragon egg ( to me it is the wrong term) she grows up to be a Dragon Rider for the Dragon Elite. All the characters in the castle become best friends. For the first 10 books all was fine... Then it went from the sublime to the ridiculous to say the least. You have gnomes, giants, magicians, elves and fae who are dumber than a door knob. Sofia's Dragon is called Lunis, a blue Dragon. He wants pizzas and cheesy nachos and plays games on a Nintendo switch ( how? He has claws ) he also tells the absolute worst jokes ever....constantly! What I didn't expect was fairy tales to be mixed into the storylines ( I would love to tell what they are, but it would be spoilers sorry. To me, a childish way to solve problems.) Things will be in here in the 21st century which is mentioned in the set time line, which will make you think you are having your leg pulled at the absurdity of it ( book 23) which would be impossible to happen in today's time line. All in all, a conglomeration of things that are silly to the extreme with childish humour. For me, I would prefer less of the silliness because the Dragon Elite storyline is strong on its own.
I didn't think that there could be a heroine as amazing as Lib Beaufont, however her sister Sophia has all the attitude and rides a dragon. Not just any dragon, one who is a mixture of every dragon you have ever read about. I love the references to Dr Who, Russel T. is such a legend, to include the characters from the series in such brilliant ways is great. These books are so well written , the characters are well drawn and engaging that you end up really identifying with them, even the nasty ones. The plotlines are well crafted, bringing in current affairs that should have been addressed decades ago, springing surprises on you, making you wish that this fantasy world were real and could help to solve global problems. I was sorry yet glad the series ended, I can move on to the life of another Beaufont now. Just one question, I am a good mortal, please can I have some Brownie help, Mortimer?
I really enjoyed these adventures and all of the truly strange and wonderful characters. I especially love that Sophia demonstrates restraint, empathy, and compassion and it’s not always KILL, KILL, KILL! What a great lesson for anyone. Love does heal the world, one act at a time!
I admit, I accidentally bought those set before the Liv series so I haven’t read it yet. I may come back to it after Paris. I bought all the rest of the series (but I feel maybe a little guilty for only spending .99-1.99 a series. I’ll tackle the prequel once I’ve finished the others so maybe I’ll make up for it then. Again, such a fun series!
Particularly Lunis, because he’s a sarcastic dragon, right after my own part. I do have a question for Sarah, though: You said you bought your Scottish boyfriend Nobel status: so are we talking Peace prize, Literature prize, or what. Noble status and a castle would be cool, but you had to go get him Einstein level Nobel status!!
After reading the Liv Beaufont series by Sarah Noffke, I knew I’d like this one. It was better than I had imagined. The adventure was enthralling, the characters were captivating, and the jokes by the dragon were hilarious (I love dad jokes). Now I can’t wait to start devouring the next Beaufont series.
Read every night until I fell asleep. I absolutely loved this series!
Love, loved Sophia,Lunis and the gang. Then I find out about the book about Liv! Do I continue to Paris or go find Liv? Either way Sarah and Michael, keep them coming, love your books so much. 🤗
Ok, this would have been better in groups of 6 or 12. This is a long read, but never boring. Get ready for some of the worst jokes ever in the middle of hundreds of battles.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I unfortunately read it before the Liz Beaumont series, which I didn’t know about! Michael Anderle and Sarah Noffke are a dynamic writing duo and I look forward to reading all of their books!
Great read flows well and easy to read. Sometimes a little simple and over descriptive but worth the effort. Paris looks interesting and will be on my list shortly.
Once I started reading I could not stop. It took me just about a month to finish the 24 books in the series. Sarah and Michael made everybody come alive. Now, now I start the next series of theirs.
The humor, the rampant imagination, the idealism, the quirky characters, even the naivity... love it all. Recommend it as much as the Liv Beaufont stories.
