First contact that would have some running . For centuries mankind has explored and expanded into the far reaches of space and everyone has pretty much come to the conclusion that we are alone, that is until a mining expedition looking to harvest a rare mineral that has made interstellar travel possible runs into a vicious reptilian warlike species bent on their destruction and the destruction of the what appears to be the indigenous species of the planet code named Viridian. For 3 volumes explore the search for the truths behind the planet and and the fight for the two expeditions return to their homes on Mars. I found I really enjoyed the characters and their development. This is space opera at its best.
