what in the plot twist?!!!
I will say this story started off a little slow for me but the suspense of it all kept me going and boyyy! I feel BAMBOOZLED!! But in a good way. I'm pleased!

What in the plot twist is going on here?!? 😭 3.5/4⭐️!
Charae knows how to write some suspense in a romance. The love story she tells about Charlie and Jirah is so sweet and made me feel conflicted. Jirah is a 29/30 yr old powerhouse diamond dealer and Charlie is a 21 yr old living with her deceased mom’s pimp. The age gap is my only conflict with this story and that didn’t take away from how intrigued this story had me! The prologue opens with the pimp Payne and his bottom b Chrissy talking about a plan to steal the Yalo Diamond from Jirah. Leonie tells them Charlie would be perfect for the job because of how under the radar she is. Well, the journey of Charlie getting to know this man and failing for him had me on edge! I was scared the plan was going to be exposed. Then boom! 77% and the plot twist is insane and put me in the mind frame of Not Another Thug story by Desiree or The Cartel Book 2 (or 3) by Ashley and Jaqavis where the ending blew your mind. I'm low-key still 50/50 on how I feel about it. Also, Payne is disgusting for how he treated Charlie on her 18th bday! Please read CWs at the beginning of the book. So overall this read was fun, intense, and crazy plot twist. I enjoyed this and look forward to what Charae comes up with next!

Diamond Boy took me on a crazy ride! I’m talking about anxiety and stressed out about how things would turn out. I know that Charae enjoys having me in an unhinged reader state, but I feel like I was reaching a new level of “unhingedness” with this book. At one point, I had to put the book down and nap; I was like if Charlie doesn’t tell Jirah what is going on, lol! And literally 77% in I said somebody has to pick me up off the “FLO” because what! Whew lord!
Needless to say, the book was entertaining, unforgettable, and a page-turner. Charlie was an impressionable 21-year-old who had to navigate her young adult life without her mother. She lived with Payne and his plethora of women; the house reeked of jealousy, envy, and pettiness. But Charlie managed to have one solid friend in Leonie. Jirah was the CEO of the Baldwin Diamonds. He was in a lane of his own. I’m talking a boss with the funds and lifestyle to back it up. Jirah had a Diamond in his possession that was one of a kind, and Payne had his eyes set on having it. Unfortunately, Charlie was the key to Payne getting access to the Diamond.
The information above was the facts of the storyline, but in true Charae fashion, she included twists and turns that I didn’t know which way to look. I came up with many scenarios that I “thought” would happen, only to frustrate myself even more. I wanted to trust the process, but I worried about what would happen to Charlie if she messed up. Jirah made it clear that he didn’t do well with liars, and there were so many warnings from his friends and family. The best thing about this story was how it all came together. It reminded me of when the student became the teacher, and boy did Charlie have a lesson for Payne. I cannot end this review without mentioning how much I loved Leonie’s character. Leonie reminded me of Money from the “In Money We Trust” series - I was like yessss get the big bag sis!! I am hoping we get more of her character in the future. Loved this one real bad!

So good
I had Alexa read this to me while traveling and man did it take me on a ride. I was fully invested and rooting for Charlie. I’m not gonna lie though she made me so mad that I almost did t finish the book. I felt so betrayed but the way Charae twisted that plot….WHEW. I didn’t see that coming and it made to book that much better. Definitely check this one out!!!

This story was disrespectful!
How dare Charae Lewis have me panicked for most of this booking and talking to myself all because I thought I knew the plot. Word to the wise, come into this book knowing that you don't understand anything and nothing is as it seems.

Ok, ok!! This definitely got me.. I was thinking that Michal was the best friend Mayola was talking about but this was not what I expected. But baby the way that Charlie and Jirah were is crazy because it just worked. Things weren't what they seemed but the feelings were definitely there. What i liked most was how they both showed each other what they didn't know they needed. Jirah and hid mom was stability for Charlie, her peace after/during her grief. Charlie was the loyalty Jirah was looking for but didn't want to adhere too. I thought my tears would have came sooner but that departure was it for sure!! Definitely will recommend this one!!

Charae did her big one with this book!
This book was GOOD!!!! The storyline was so interesting and different. It kept me engaged from page one. I loved Charlie, Jirah, Mayola and Leonie. Absolutely hated Payne, Chrissy, Tasia and Lyric. I loved the writing and the overall development of the story and the character. It was so well written and it read like it could be a television series honestly. This was a great piece of art. Bit Charae never lets me down. And she just keeps getting better and better. Her growth as an author is beautiful to experience in real time.

Plot Twist is everything!!
OMG, what a page-turner! This book had me hooked from the first page, and the plot twist? Absolutely mind-blowing! It was such a welcome surprise, but I swear, for a moment there, I thought Charlie and I were going to have to square up. Diamond Boy was just too much of a man to be scheming around, in my opinion! But wow, this story did not*disappoint. Every twist, every turn, kept me on my toes. The author masterfully kept the intrigue high from start to finish, and I was completely captivated the whole way through. A must-read!

not sure what to say
This started out great, but somewhere along the way it got sooooo boring. It was like it wasn’t moving the story along. Once I got to like 39% I decided to skip so much of the story. I mean I was skipping pages like crazy and still don’t feel like I missed anything. The “plot twist” didn’t make sense and I’m not sure why it happened the way it did if everyone knew what was going on. Everything that took place was unnecessary. It just didn’t makes sense to me but ok.

Charae never Disappoints!
This book was so good and it definitely was different from the rest. I loved me some Charlie and Jirah. I was so shocked at the turn of events and wasn’t expecting that turn at all. Payne and Chrissy got exactly what they deserved. I’m so glad that Charlie and Jirah followed their hearts. Charae never disappoints and I mean that. Read this book, you won’t be disappointed!💗

I was anxious for at least 80% of the story, hoping the consequences wouldn’t be so harsh for poor Charlie.
Without spilling anything, just know- everybody gets what they deserve and Charae really got me. Sis, has found her groove with writing a unique story. She did the same with Crazy Little Love. I’m loving these unexpected plots/ storylines.

This book, has everything an avid reader needs. Plot twist, description that are not just fillers. The author took the time to describe the characters in a way that didn’t feel like it was just forced on them. This story was told beautifully it unveiled better than any book. I’ve read in months I was flabbergasted about the plot twist I did not see it coming when you think you know you have no idea. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

I don't know why I waited so long to read this book. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. I loved Charlie and Jirah. Their story will keep you invested in how things play out. Their chemistry was undeniable, but the unexpected plot twist had me in shock. I definitely didn't see that coming and was expecting a different outcome for Charlie. Kudos to the author for executing that plot twist that will leave readers bamboozled. I highly recommend reading.

Omg when I say that I couldn’t put this book down, I finished in one day. The plot twist snatched my edges bald. I would have NEVER guessed the ending. I love me some Charlie and Jirah. Jirah is bae for real. Payne and Chrissy got what was coming to them. Leione was definitely a real one. If I could give this book 10 stars I would, it’s that good. I didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend this read.

Ok… now I’m here for a good plot twist, but umm, Miss Ma'am didn’t have to do me like this! This storyline was one of the best I’ve read this year! Charae Lewis gave us intrigue, betrayal, deception, loyalty, and, most of all love! I absolutely loved this book!!!
Jirah and Charlie were everything from page one. They are now one of my favorite couples because although they had some hiccups, they remained steady. There wasn’t a lot of back and forth with them; it was just progress. Now as I stated before, I’m here for a good plot twist, but the way this author can weave them in so effortlessly had me devouring this book in one sitting!
I would love to see these characters in the future, even though this book was a standalone, because there could be some potential in the side characters. I hate that this book is over because it has definitely left me in a book fog but I’m excited for what’s next.

What a book. Character development at its finest. Charlie was not as naive as everyone played her to be. All throughout the book I was just hoping Chrissy got at least one a$$ whooping. I always look forward to Charae’s books, and this one didn’t let me down. The twist with Jirah and Charlie was fire—it had me questioning everything up until the last page. The way the story wrapped up was smooth, making all the pieces fit together in a way that just made sense. Definitely a dope read!

This was the best book I’ve read in a while. The way the author delivered this story was like nothing I expected. There were a lot of twist and turns, ups and downs, but In the end it was a recipe for a great outcome. The character development was right on point. But I’m not surprised with this author, she’s definitely one of the best♥️ 20 stars ⭐️

AIN’T NO WAY
There’s absolutely no way this story took the twist and turn that it did. I love everything about this book. Somewhere along the line I thought it would be revealed that the friendship Mayola regretted losing was Michal. But even if it’s not the case, in my mind it was implied several times lol.

One hell of a plot twist
Wow, this book was off the chain. Here I was thinking that this book was playing off the naive young girl gets caught up troupe until the end. Baby, what an ending!! This is my first book from this author and it may not be my last. Excellent storytelling!! Highly recommended.

Ohhh Charlie you sneak sneaky girl. When I want a Plot twist in story, this is what I mean. Everyone is out to get something, but when that something can make or break you, you have to be clever. Just when you think the plays have been set, the players in the game have to rerouted. This story was too good, I had it all figured out, but no my mind was blown.

Like Charae, I was confused with Charlie in taking all this abuse from Chrissy and Payne. But I was relieved later on. This one was different from her normal but it was great read!
