I'd rather get a root canal than stay in Christmas Falls at Christmastime. Yet here I am—stuck in this frozen, pun-filled town, waiting on a part for my private jet.

Worse, I picked a fight with the wickedly attractive guy who runs the regional airport, only to find out that he has the only spare bed in town. Will I be able to get on his good side, or will I be left out in the cold?

Christmas Season 2 revisits a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie. It's a multi-author M/M romance series.

Hello Kelly Fox. This book was a pleasant surprise. I mean yeah, the story was engaging and sweet. Christmas Falls as a back drop is adorable. But what caught my attention was the heat. That shower scene was a thing of beauty, not to mention sex on a desk😉👌 chef's kiss intimacy right there. Not in a filthy , dirty way, but the emotion was spot on. I'll be checking out more Kelly Fox books🙃🫶🎅🎄❄️

Trust Kelly Fox to give me a Hallmark-worthy Christmas novella that is sweet, touching, swoon-worthy, and all-around magical. I honestly have yet to read a book by hers that I did not like, which is why she's one of my top favorites. And Frost Impressions was no exception.

This is my first visit to Christmas Falls, a small town made of Christmas puns and filled with so much Christmas magic I want to move there. Seriously, if it were up to me, I'd have twinkly Christmas lights up in my home year-round. So it's safe to say I fell in love with this town and I will be reading the other books in this magical series as well! As for this one...

Frost Impressions is about Gray and Sunny. Seeing the names, you'd expect a grumpy/sunshine pairing, and while it is that, in a way... It's also not that, and I loved that it sort of gave a new twist to one of my favorite tropes.

Both of these guys are just so precious, honestly. Yes, this is a low-angst fluffy Christmas story, but they still felt like real people who have their own demons. All of the characters did. So often in these types of books, the characters become too OTT, but not here. They feel real and authentic and lovely.

Seeing Gray and Sunny get to know each other and open up to one another was everything. They just click. They're a perfect fit and while their romance was fast (novella, duh), never once did it feel unrealistic. They just worked together and even if it went "fast", it felt right. When you know, you know! And the spice was, as always with Kelly's book, perfect.

Really, Kelly Fox just never disappoints. I love all her books and I'm so very very grateful and honoured to be on her ARC team so I can get my hands on new books just a smidge faster. I'm also crossing my fingers that perhaps Baz - Sunny's brother - will get his own book in the next season of Christmas Falls, because I loved him instantly. (And I also know that Kelly has a teensy bit of an issue with letting side-characters stay side-characters & not give them their own book. So... Kelly... Pretty please? Book for Baz?)

I received an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in exchange for an honest review.

Clichés are cliché for a reason. There's a reason why these feel-good squishy books are so good - they're just that good!

If you're a fan of holiday stories or the classic and wonderful GRUMPY/SUNSHINE trope, then FROST IMPRESSIONS will be a necessary addition to your holiday reads tbr.

Sunny Day and Gray Frost *no, I'm not joking, that's their names, but it surprisingly works in this super cute way* are absolutely ridiculous. But again, it works.

Gray is your typical GRUMPY secret cinnamon roll. We love that! He's the Christmas Fallsian. Sunny is vacationing with the thought of moving to the eccentric town. Sunny is the sunshine character, and thank goodness he goes by Sunny. His real name is ridonkulous. ******!!!!! We love him. We love THEM. Together. GRAY. WITH SUN!

Throw in all the amazing side characters that Kelly is so good at writing, a Christmas obsessed town, two silly little dogs, and some good old-fashioned chemistry... well. I'll eat that up anytime.

FROST IMPRESSIONS was a quick little read set in a lovely multi-author series, and again, perfect if you're looking for some ✨️mostly✨️ lighthearted seasonal feels. It'll be available on December 6th!

"DON'T BE TOO STERN WITH THEM, THEY'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU." swoon.

This is a sweet romance with a big grumpy/sunshine trope between Gray, who owns the airport, and Sunny, a rich guy from Chicago looking for a quieter place to live
Sunny and Gray were wonderful together. I loved this book, 2 MCs who hate Christmas but couldn't be more different. And yet, when you look deeper you will discover that they both put up front and only show their true being what they think is 'best'.
This book is my Kelly Fox debut and I loved it

So sweet - I love a grumpy sunshine story and I loved this line so much:

Gray shook his head. “You two are the same person in different font.”

Gray Frost is known as the Christmas Falls grump, taking the roll from his friend Griff. It's not that he hates Christmas, but he isn't into all of the fanfare and forced joy. And that, I can absolutely, 100% get behind. And though he comes across as rather brash and abrasive, he's thoughtful and considerate, a fact that Sunny Day discovers much to his delight.

On the surface, these two appear to be complete opposites. But they're a bit more similar than they think. And while first impressions were rather, well, frosty, those impressions don't last very long. The more Gray and Sunny get to know each other, the more they grow to really like each other, and dig deeper under the surface, something Gray is quite talented at.

It doesn't take long for him to see that Sunny, despite his namesake's disposition, harbours some pretty intense anxiety. And while it isn't something he likes to discuss, Gray allows him the space and time to do so.

And honestly, the discussions between characters, and in their inner monologues, around the topic of mental health, anxiety particularly, were pretty great. The idea that being authentic is more important than toxic positivity (though there is room for optimism) brought be great joy. I loved these discussions, and I loved that Gray made Sunny feel safe enough to be open and honest about the state of his mental health, and his anxiety.

And these discussions really led to both men choosing open and honest communication from the get go, which, as we all know, is something I absolutely love. I loved how close they grew to each other out of these conversations, and I loved how they acted on their attraction to each other with respect, and communication of boundaries.

On the surface, Gray and Sunny may have appeared to be completely opposite - and while they do differ in quite a number of ways - these differences proved to be the glue that held them together.

We're nearing the end of our time in Christmas Falls this year, and there may or may not have been some subtle hints of a possible return next year. If there are plans for season 3, I'm here for it with arms wide open! You can call me a Grinch, but I will always love returning to Christmas Falls once a year to indulge in some festivities, adventures, and happily ever afters.

Kelly Fox’s Frost Impressions is another fun book that’s a part of the multi-author Christmas Falls: Season 2 series. This novella is sweet, funny, and I would say just the right amount of touching.

The story introduces us to Gray Frost, a grumpy airport owner, and Sunny Day, a tech CEO from Chicago who’s looking for a quieter life. While at first Gray and Sunny seem like a classic grumpy/sunshine pairing, there is so much more going on underneath the surface. Gray looks and acts like a prickly, sarcastic guy, but he’s actually a big softie who takes care of everyone around him in his own way. Sunny, on the other hand, is full of charm and positivity, but he’s struggling with anxiety on an almost daily basis. And it’s exactly these hidden layers what makes both characters feel real and relatable.

Bonding over their shared dislike for Christmas, Gray and Sunny start finding joy in holiday activities together. And even as things move quickly (it’s a novella, it kinda has to), the way their relationship develops feels natural. But despite that, their connection never feels rushed. Together they just work, and you can’t help but root for them as a couple.

I loved that even the side characters, like Sunny’s brother Baz and a pair of adorable dogs (Sweetie and Lunchbox), add to the cozy vibe. And while the focus of the story stays on Gray and Sunny, the little details of the setting and the people around them truly give the story warmth.

If there’s one small hiccup for me, it’s the time skip during the first few days of Gray and Sunny living together. It feels a bit abrupt and could have been handled more smoothly. That said, it doesn’t take away from the overall story.

In the end, Frost Impressions is a cozy, low-angst, feel-good holiday romance. So if you are in the mood for something sweet and uplifting, this is your book.
Also, here’s hoping Baz gets his HEA!

In the mood for a grumpy/sunshine holiday romance? Frost Impressions delivers! This sweet, low angst holiday romance pairs the grumpiest grump in Christmas Falls with a sunshiny, billionaire newcomer. It’s amazing what a little forced proximity can do when paired with some holiday magic.

As their names suggest, you’d expect Gray Frost and Sunny Day to be total opposites, and at first, they are. But as their story unfolds, it’s clear they’re more alike than it seems. Both are projecting a face to the world that belies who they truly are inside, and learning and understanding their reasons why are both heartwarming and humbling. For me, it’s the best part of what brings them together.

Kelly Fox captures all the magic of Christmas Falls in this quick, easy read as Sunny and Gray weave their story into the fabric of the season. Theirs is a romance that’s fast, fun, and just feels right. There’s no shortage of chemistry and attraction mixed with a hearty side of humor and wit, and I love the support and care they show for each other as their connection grows.

I’m having a blast in Christmas Falls, and if you’re in the mood to lose yourself in a romantic winter wonderland, I highly recommend taking a trip.

Another winner in my book!

This was a lovely, entertaining and easy to read story with two MCs who pretend to be different to how they really are.

Sparks fly between these unlikely and seemingly very opposite characters right from the start. But to find their HEA will take them patience and time.

Gray is this grumpy, jaded, and stern person, introvert, keeping himself away from people and most things Christmas while Sunny is this smiling, positive, cheerful persona.
And yet, when you look deeper you will discover that they both put up a front and only show their surroundings what they think is 'best'.

Both are likeable and well fleshed out. Both have their own struggles and none of them is perfect. That makes them for me as a reader way more real and I love that. I can identify myself with them to a degree and even more important, because they feel so real I can sympathise and feel with/for them.

So it was no wonder that I was rooting for them. Their story was just so sweet. I had a huge smile on my face more than once.

I was a big fan of the whole story and was thoroughly entertained.

Honestly, it feels like each book in the series gets better and better. But since I think that about each story and never had the feeling one of them was lacking, I can safely say we simply have a bunch of wonderful and talented authors in this multi author series. I really enjoy the books and know they will be on my list for a re-read when I have a bit of free time.

What I absolutely loved in this story:
The manner Gray goes out of his way to help Sunny to rediscover his love of Christmas while still pretending to be more of a Grinch himself. But inside he is a marshmallow. Caring and loving, reliable, understanding and very patient.
I absolutely adored how he handled Sunny and his 'struggles', that he was so in tune with him that he recognised signs Sunny's own brother didn't. And he never made him do something, didn't pressure him or gave the slightest hint that he was annoyed when they had to change plans. In fact he did everything in his power to make Sunny feel safe and loved.
Who doesn't want to have such a person in their life?

Btw: I really hope we'll get to read Baz' story one of these days. I'm intrigued and would love to get more.

(DNF@18% stopped reading on December 30th, 2024) Considering I didn't really think much of last year's Christmas Falls multi-author series, I told myself I wouldn't try too hard to read any of the Christmas Falls: Season 2 books. I decided I would give No Business Like Snow Business by J.A. Rock and Lisa Henry a shot, since, in the past, I've generally enjoyed these authors' works—and maybe stop at that.

But then I had such a good time reading No Business Like Snow Business that I decided to give some books by other authors I sometimes enjoy a chance. I pushed my way through Christmas Beau by Amy Aislin. There was a moment when I considered DNF-ing, but after deciding to continue for a few more pages, I managed to finish it. Was it worth it in the end? Not really, probably.

And finally, we come to the book at hand. Considering I’ve enjoyed this author's books in the past and the fact that the summary sounded semi-interesting, I decided it might be worth giving the story a chance. Sadly, I don’t think this one is working for me at all. Could I try to push through until the end and possibly find the story somewhat enjoyable? Sure. Will it change how I feel about the story? Doubtful.

Unfortunately, the overall mood of the story just isn't working for me. Starting with the character names, which couldn't be more on the nose if you tried, to Sunny and Gray's actual characterizations—the two of them immediately drooling over each other—and the whole setup of the poor little misunderstood billionaire whom Gray, seemingly the most unlikely person in Christmas Falls, will stop at nothing to help find his Christmas cheer again after a family tragedy. It just feels too forced and painfully unrelatable.

Themes: dual POV, grumpy/sunshine, animosity, forced proximity, billionaire, pets, Christmas, small town

New Review! Frost Impressions (Christmas Falls 2.0 #8) by @authorkellyfox

I think this is my first Kelly Fox title, and I LOVED it! Oh my gosh, she had me with the Enemies to lovers! But the fact that the main characters are named Gray Frost and Sunny Day? Excuse you, I LIVE for that level of shenanigans. And gurl, the sp1ce is SOOOOO good, I was unaware of your SmÜt credentials but consider me SUBSCRIBED!! The chemistry between these two was sizzling! 🥵

The book opens at the Christmas Falls airport with an emergency landing from a chaotic tech millionaire coming to spend the holiday season in town and flying his own plane with very little hours flown. That man is Sunny Day and the very opposite of airport owner and veteran pilot, Gray Frost. When they get Sunny landed, Gray discovers that the cabin that the techie was supposed to shack up in has had its roof collapse due to the crazy snow and since everything is booked, his assistant offers up his own home for the short term which sends him into a grump attack.

They’re entertaining as all get out as they share living space. Sunny is fun, chaotic and sunshiny and Gray is sweet, caring and grumpy as all get out and as they feel each other out they discover that neither is who they seem. Sunny’s persona is just that, a persona, and he’s battling crippling social anxiety and cant handle any of the holiday crowds without having a severe anxiety attack. Gray is also heavily involved with the community despite being painted as the town Grinch.

Their opposing personalities fit perfectly as Sunny softens Gray, and Gray becomes protective AF of Sunny. Plus their dogs just adore each other (which is so frickin cute) and their chemistry ramps up so organically that the sp1ce feels so right that you’re just like YAAAAAA SMÜT TYME

And a GOOD TYME IT IS

Also sunny dislikes the holiday because of the grief he associates with a loss of a parent, and Gray decides he’s going to try to get Sunny to find joy in the holiday again by helping him enjoy the seasons’ festivities. Oh my gosh My heart! 😭😩🫠

This is a MUST read for Christmas Falls lovers. It’s SO swoony and romantic!

This book is another delightful addition to the Christmas Falls series, this time featuring Gray, owner of the Reindeer Runway airport, and Sunny, a millionaire from Chicago seeking a less hectic and crowded place to live. Not sure Christmas Falls in December is the definition of less hectic and crowded, what with all the tourists and Christmas themed activities, and Sunny finds out firsthand when the rental for his stay has a collapsed roof from the snow, and there are no other rooms available in town. Not sure what he’ll do, the air traffic controller suggests Gray’s spare room, not necessarily high on either man’s list since Sunny is mmm, well, Sunny, and Gray is the epitome of what you think of with that color. He is not the cheeriest nor most positive guy, but he grudgingly agrees. Little do either of them know going in that they will find the love of their life, once they get past the initial awkwardness. It is sweet and whimsical, steamy (in a more erotic than explicit way I thought), emotional and downright adorable at times, making me smile and tear up once or twice, the whole way through.
Really relatable characters, returning characters from other books in the series pass through, there is an element of danger, lots of Christmas themed activities that they find with a less crowded atmosphere, and two men find the person that makes them feel safe and makes them both feel whole. I have enjoyed all the books in the series so far, have read most, and I think this one is my favorite so far. These two characters just resonated with me, anxious for them to get their HEA. A very enjoyable, satisfying read for the holiday season.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.

FROST IMPRESSIONS - KELLY FOX

This book is part of the Christmas Falls Season 2 collection, and the first book I have read by Kelly Fox.

If you are not aware of any of the stories that take place in Christmas Falls, you are missing the chance to meet wonderful characters each time you start a book. Gray Frost owns the local airport,Reindeer Runway, and meets Sunny Day when his plane arrives dramatically with faulty landing gear.

This is a grumpy/sunshine tale that turns into lust and then love quickly when Gray and Sunny are unexpected roommates that become closer the more time they spend together. Gray normally avoids the festival and town events, but when he hears Sunny lost his love of Christmas after his mom passed, so he wants to help him embrace the reasons he used to love the holiday.

A great cast of recurring characters show up throughout the book, and Sunny’s brother Baz comes to town to check on him and finds Christmas Falls just as enchanting. The brothers also have a chance to share some things with one another they had not been honest about, so it is very heartwarming to experience their bond.

Gray and Sunny fall in love fast, but agree that when you meet your person, you just know them in your heart and shouldn’t have to follow a timeline to HEA.

I will look forward to reading more books by Kelly Fox and recommend all of the Christmas Falls stories for genuine heart smiles.

Favorite Quotes:

“Do you make friends everywhere you go?” I asked, not sure if I was irritated or jealous. “I do. I can't help it. I just like people.” “What about grumpy people?” I asked, gesturing to myself. “I especially like grumpy people,” he answered, his eyes twinkling.

“You know what, Gray?” “What?” “For an asshole, you’re actually kind of a softy underneath.”

Kissing was usually a means to an end, but I could stand here in the snow kissing him all day long. I wasn’t sure how it’d happened, but over the course of this day irritation had become admiration, and now admiration was turning into something far more heated.

Holy shit. Serious Gray was super sexy— there was no denying that. But flirty, morning- after Gray? That’s the kind of thing that could get a man into trouble.

He pressed his forehead to mine. “Well, shit.” I giggled. “It’s not that bad. We just like each other.” “It is bad. How can I maintain my hard- won reputation as the town grump when all I wanna do right now is smile?”

4.5/5 There is definitely a frosty first impression (lol), but this soon gives way to both MCs getting to know one another better and revealing more layers to their personality. I appreciated that Gray could be introverted and a bit of a grump but still kind, and Sunny could be generally positive but still have anxiety issues.

It was lovely to watch these two really get to know one another and click so well. Sure, it’s fast, but they spend a lot of time together, and it just feels right (in the best sort of Hallmark Christmas movie way). I enjoyed the trope inversion of the “grinch” trying to make someone else love Christmas, lol.

It was fun to see some familiar faces around Christmas Falls and to witness its events in a new way (at a distance or at less busy moments) to accommodate Sunny. I liked that everyone was a bit complicated (you can paint and be a business owner, or be rich and have anxiety, or love your sibling but have lost some of the connection, etc.)

I thought Gray and Sunny made an excellent couple and showcased it in so many ways throughout the book. They have hot moments in bed, but they have so many other intimate moments as well. I also really enjoyed Baz coming to visit, and I hope he gets his own book in the future!

I received an ARC from NEON Rainbow ARC Reviews. This is my honest review.

Kelly Fox is a great addition to the Christmas Falls series, and I'm going after some of her other books after this season.

In this grumpy-meets-sunshine adventure, these two men are clearly viewing the world differently. Both have traumas in their past lives, and both are fiercely independent but curiously inquisitive about others in their orbit.

The only bed in town troupe was interesting, but backed up by the numerous references to how tough it is to find a room in this special Christmas tribute. Sunny and Gray are given an early negative reaction to each other, but it's Sunny who expresses a bit of lust for the well-built Gray.

This story is fun; it's an HEA that is born in the first 20% of the book, and then their relationship deepens and expands into territory that they are meant to be together. All this against the wonderfully included references to other points in the stories of Christmas Falls Season 2, and a few from Season 1.

Angst in love stories is expected, but in this case, Kelly Fox does not manufacture angst to lengthen the story... the angst is minimal and believable in a story that has blossomed in a two-week timespan.

Read this series in order, and the magic is even brighter, but none brighter than the obvious love these two men have in their short romance and their HEA.

First impressions can be deceiving

Gray and Sunny's story was a grumpy/sunshine where both characters are not quite as grumpy and sunshiney as they lead everyone to believe. Gray was my favourite of the two, endeavouring to be himself, reserved and quiet and not putting up a front, at all times, regardless of how that makes him come across to everyone. Sunny was far more upbeat but, like Gray, he had hidden trauma and he badly needed what found in both Gray and the town.
Despite their own issues, this was a low angst, almost insta-love, holiday romance between two characters who were perfect for each other. Even their dogs got along from the start. And, of course, we had the added bonus of seeing familiar faces from both series while Gray was introducing Sunny to Christmas Falls.
I assume Sunny's brother, Baz, will be getting his own book at some point as there was a heavy hint in this, unless I'm reading too much into a throwaway comment at the end, but perhaps he'll be moving to join his brother if there's a Season Three.
Oh, and enquiring minds want to know...where the hell did Gray get all his money from?

This book is a part of the multi-author Christmas Falls: Season 2 series. This is a fairly new to me author and I really enjoyed the book. This is the story of Gray Frost and Sunny Day. Gray is the owner of the only airport around Christmas Falls. He has a grumpy exterior and a warm, marshmallow inside. He is not a fan of Christmas. He finds people's behavior are too artificial during the holidays. He enjoys honesty most of all. Sunny is just as his name implies. He is friendly and upbeat. Always trying to find the positive and celebrate it. Unfortunately, due to losing his mother, he is not a fan of Christmas. It is just too painful for him to enjoy. While appearing as two opposites when they first meet, the two bond over their mutual lack of Christmas Cheer. This is their story. I really liked how Gray encouraged Sunny to just be himself. Warts and all. And how Sunny trusted Gray enough to not be "on" all the time. Allowing him to just be him. The book is very well written and easy to read. I enjoyed how both of them dug below the surface image that we all project to get to the real person underneath. This is a low angst, cozy holiday read.

As with all this author’s other works, I loved this addition to the Christmas Falls series. It was a match made in holiday heaven b/t a grumpy airport owner, Gray, and a sunshiny billionaire, Sunny, with a dislike of all things Christmas. But it didn’t start out that way. Sunny flew himself, on a new pilot’s license, out to Christmas Falls but had a bit of a problem with the plane’s landing gear at the airport. After being reamed out by Gray, they find the cabin that Sunny was going to rent for his stay has a collapsed roof d/t recent snow fall. The only place left to stay is with the grump himself. However, once both men are in the same space the frost begins to thaw and their attraction heats up 🔥 and they both start imagining forever. The only thing that might stand in the way is Sunny’s distaste for Christmas, but there are reasons. Once Gray starts to show him the magic of his town both men realize that there is more to the season than they imagined. It helps that Gray starts to let in the people who care about him, and that extends to Sunny too. I loved how both men showed understanding and care for their mental/physical wellbeing and the author showed respect for each issue. The book ended with a HEA, naturally, and I do hope that Sunny’s brother Baz gets a book of his own someday too (maybe next season off Christmas Falls 🤞🏻).

With instant attraction, extreme grumpy X sunshine and forced proximity....what more could you ask for in a book.

I loved this book. I loved finally getting to meet Gray when we've only seen a few glimpses of him at the snow flake shack at his custom painted table.
We see the grump immediately tear into Sunny, our tech millionaire with a few pained secrets and a filthy mind lol.
Add in one dog that is highly trained and another dog that...just does it's own thing to twine these two lovebirds together.

Sunny's lodging ends up not working out for him and is forced to reside with the grumpiest grump himself. But their attraction flares hot and their close proximity and time to talk really solidifies their desires.

I love their dynamic so much, I couldn't put the book down when I started it honestly.
Watching their relationship and trust grow was a christmas gift honestly. They fit together so perfectly and only make each other stronger.

You get glimpses of CF events from a bit farther away because that is how the two prefer things, but the magic is still there. You get a deeper look into who Gray is for the community and his dedication to helping people. Which is very very sweet.

Gray and Sunny don’t start off with the best first impression. Sunny flies into Christmas Falls with a little trouble with the plane he is piloting and Gray can immediately tell that Sunny hasn’t been a pilot for long. Luckily, all is well and safe. Their personalities are as opposite as their names but when Sunny’s accommodations fall through, Gray finds himself volunteering his home. And it becomes the start of something really sweet between them. As they get to know one another and mix in the chemistry sparking with them, it doesn’t take them long to realize that what is brewing between them could be something so real and perfect. They both balance one another out really well. And what I loved too was that Gray is known as this grumpy guy around Christmas Falls but he is someone with one of the biggest hearts. And when he learns the reasons Sunny isn’t so fond of Christmas, he wants to help Sunny find that spark again. Because no one like him, who makes a room glow with life, should be so sad around the holidays. Really, cute and short story! Just another great love story in Christmas Falls!

🎄Holiday, all the way!🛩

A good, cozy romance set in a snowy town crazy for Christmas. Neither grumpy Gray Frost, the owner of the local airport, nor Sunny Day, a freshly-arrived tech CEO, cares for Christmas but that becomes no obstacle to them enjoying the seasonal sights, tastes and activities together in Christmas Falls. A few dramatic moments and quasi panic attacks notwithstanding, this is a cheerful coming together of outward opposites with humor, passion, heartfelt romance and even a cute pair of dogs that seem to realize they're a keeper family of four before their humans do!

I could have done with a bit less airplane technical jargon in one, critical scene, but on the whole the story moves quickly, remains focused on the couple and was a good, holiday read. I especially liked the way each guy is shown, under the surface, to have character traits and hidden depths that go against type. Sunny is often not really the sunny, outgoing type and Gray proves his sarcasm and disapproving, frosty look disguises his caring, considerate nature.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

**Love, Christmas Falls Style**

When Gray Frost meets Sunny Day, sparks are destined to fly! Especially when Sunny literally drops from the sky right in front of Gray. Things are about to get explosive.

Gray is a self-proclaimed Grinch amid the Christmas Falls festivities. He prefers solitude over joining in any social activities and thinks the Christmas celebrations in the town are a bit over the top. On the other hand, Sunny is known for his cheerful attitude—hence his nickname. However, he shares one thing in common with Gray: he can do without all the Christmas antics. Sunny lost his mother around Christmas time, making the holiday a painful reminder of his loss each year.

When Sunny's accommodations unexpectedly fall through, Gray reluctantly offers him a place to stay. (Yes! Forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes.) As the two men, who are polar opposites, spend time together, they discover that they aren’t so different after all.

This book was an absolute pleasure to read! It’s a fantastic addition to the Christmas Falls series, and I can't think of a better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by reading it.

Oh my gosh, this book is SO GOOD!! There were so many times I’d catch myself grinning like a goof while reading this because of something Gray or Sunny had said or done, I just can’t even tell you!!

The book is part of season two of a multi author collaboration on the same small, fictional town of Christmas Falls. It’s a riot; the town is all Christmas, all the time. The streets, stores—everything, is named for Christmas such as Frosty’s, Jolly Java, Jingle Bites, Season’s Readings, even the airport wasn’t spared, it was called the Reindeer Runway!

I’m having a hard time expressing how much fun reading this book was…it’s not that it was necessarily laugh out loud funny, it was more sneaky than that, it was tongue in cheek and sly innuendo…it was sweet how the grouchy Gray was so determined to help Sunny learn how to love Christmas again and the lengths he went to when he didn’t even care for Christmas himself. I know I’m not doing such a great job of describing it. I just really hope that anyone who reads this and the other reviews and are interested will give it a chance, you’ll be so glad you did! 5 stars!!

Kelly Fox's contribution to Christmas Falls season two is the romance between Gray and Sunny. Their names are a bit on the nose being that this is a grumpy/sunshine romance. The antagonism between the MCs doesn't last long at all and Gray is a secret marshmallow. Sunny is as bright as his name, but inside, it's not all as happy as he makes everyone believe. Gray gets Sunny to open up and it turns out they are a perfect match. Things move really fast, but it felt organic rather than contrived. Despite only knowing each other a short time, it felt like Gray and Sunny could go the distance. This is one of those romances that is sweet, you might get a cavity from reading it, which is what makes it perfect for a Christmas read.

My only complaint was that it felt rushed. I don't know if there was a page count restriction, but I felt like I would have enjoyed the story if it was longer. We don't get to know Gray quite as well as Sunny. A big part of Gray's life is mentioned, but we never seem him actually do it. We only get a few mentions and the end result. I would have liked to see Gray actually in his studio.

4.25 Stars!

"I want it all. All of your sunny, all of your dark."

I didn't think I was gonna like this because both MCs were not known and it is so short. I like my stories longer with a fleshed out plot, usually. But omg, I loved this!

It started a bit rough, with a grumpy/sunshine trope that moved on veey quickly. Toooo quickly. I wouldn't have cared for a bit more detail on their character development.

When Sunny emergency lands at the Christmas Falls Airport, Gray bashes him for his incompetence. But with that emergency out of the way, only brought another that forced proximity troped these 2 together. Their chemistry burns like jet fuel and their humorous banter made Gray & Sunny's flaws shine for the better, like a sunset in a painting.

The spice was hott, 5/5 🌶! The author got creative without throwing heavy kink into the scenes.

Ensemble of past characters were present, which added a nice layer and familiar vibe. Sunny's brother was MVP! He was hilarious and so caring of Sunny. And if I read between the lines correctly, and if there is a Season 3, he might get his own book!

“But I wouldn’t let you stay with him if I thought he’d make your life miserable. Mostly, he’ll just ignore you.”

This book was written by Kelly Fox and is part of a multi-authored series called Christmas Falls: Season 2. This is the first time I've read any of the books in season 1 or season 2, in fact I didn't even know these existed. It's a good thing that Kelly Fox wrote one of the books in season 2 or I probably would have never known about them. Now I'm excited to read some of the other stories in these 2 series, it is that time of year where I'm up for some good holiday entertainment.

This was a fun quick read set in a town called Christmas Falls. Pretty much everything in this town is Christmas themed and the townsfolk pull out all the stops during the holidays. Hallmark is probably jealous that they don't own the rights to this series.

Will Baz get his own book next year? Inquiring minds want to know.

What a delight. I love a story where grumps are really softies and the sunshiny is also dark.

Gray and Sunny met at their worst. And to top it off Gray has to take Sunny in when his cabin roof collapses.

It doesn’t take long for them to start peeling the layers back and see beneath that exterior. And it was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the way the community saw Gray, and how much they loved their grump. It was really special.

These are the kind of characters that will stick with me for a long while.

This story also had a lot of great lines! Here are a couple of my favs:

“Gray shook his head. “You two are the same person in different font.”

“But what I’m hearing you say is that we are both just really f*ing broken.”
Gray snorted. “Got my millionaire at a scratch and dent sale, folks.”
