Northern Breeds

Rate this book
Designed and illustrated much like Barron's Pet Owner's Manuals, the Handbooks have more pages, even more photos and drawings, and more fully detailed advice and instruction on pet care. Pet owners and people who plan to acquire a pet will find information on health care, feeding, and housing -- and where applicable, on grooming and training. All photos are top quality and in full color -- and many of the titles also feature instructive line illustrations.

This manual describes many breeds, including the Akita, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed, Siberian Husky, and others.

This book is a nice unique addition to any dog lover of the Husky-type/ Spitz breeds. The book's specificity of the Northern Breeds is thorough and informative. Northern breeds have some very notable traits and common characteristics which are discussed as well as introductions to sports and activities that the Northern breeds are noted for participating. If you own a prick-eared, curly tailed, double coated dog, recommend this book for your library.
