Easy read, reads like a soap opera. Some of it historically accurate and interesting, some of it really unbelievable. I love historical fiction and would say this is not it at its finest. I much prefer A Fine Balance or Dove Keepers.

The journals seemed to drag on at times. I did enjoy the comparison of Native Americans' and Caucasians' life styles, religions, communities, etc.
