First Tatum, I must say you wrote the hell outta this ma'am! I was so looking forward to Bishop's story, as he was such an anomaly, that I couldn't really get a read on him from the previous two reads.
Mr. Bishop Reign, hot shot defense attorney with a perfect record. Workaholic, educated, disciplined, and everything in his life worked in facts and figures, the perfect contract. His brothers looked up to him and relied on his maturity and sound advice. All was going well in Bishop's life, until he received a proposition.
Lourdess Black, the pampered princess, of crime boss Monroe Black. Never wanted for a thing in her life, however, being sheltered left her vulnerable in areas of her life where she should have known better. She was intelligent, and a great attorney. She was also a bit flighty, quirky, and overthinks everything. She loved her father, but didn't like him much, as he dictated everything in her life. She wanted to have a bit of freedom, and live life on her own terms, without his interference. Well, she did branch out and do her, but that decision put her into a dilemma.
Lourdess is floored when her father proposes that she marry a stranger. Not only that but to the thugged out attorney, that never loses? This can't be my life. 😤 Knowing she doesn't have a choice in the matter, she gives Bishop hell right from the get-go. If I have to do this, I won't make it easy for him. Bishop takes it all in stride, as he understands her feelings about all this. But make no mistake, she will be his wife.
After a lot of back and forth, arguing, and ignoring calls, Lourdess finally agrees to give Bishop the opportunity for him to get to know her, and vice versa. When he does begin to peel back the layers of who he is outside of the courtroom, she is immediately enamored with this man. He is nothing like she assumed. He is kind, sweet, and really seems to want to make me happy. She feels a deep level of comfort around him. I enjoyed seeing their relationship blossom, before the engagement party.
Now this is the portion where I put on my thinking cap, and wondered who put out the hit? I held my breath as I feared Bishop finding out the truth about Royelle, and wondered how he would react.
I loved how Psalm and Bishop worked together, finding every lead and worked tirelessly until they found their answers. When it was revealed who was responsible, I was a bit shocked. However, I shouldn't have been, when you really think about it. But the revelations kept coming, and my head was spinning! Whew! 🤯 I was happy for Syre and Royelle, cause holding onto information like that, had to be heavy as hell! I know this is supposed to be the end of the series, but we gotta know more about Psalm! Please? 🙏🏾 Enjoyed this very much. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
