After an 86-year World Series drought, the 2004 Boston Red Sox engineered the greatest comeback in baseball history. Then, three short years later, they did it again--sweeping the Rockies to become the 2007 world champions of baseball. Celebrate an amazing team--its players, manager, and rich history--and an incredible season.
The Boston Globe is an American daily newspaper based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1872 by Charles H. Taylor, it was privately held until 1973, when it went public as Affiliated Publications. The company was acquired in 1993 by The New York Times Company; two years later Boston.com was established as the newspaper's online edition.
Do I need to reiterate my love for these boys? Good pictures, some text, and more pictures. Nothing special.
But who decided on the format? It's backward: the first chapter is the World Series, the the ALCS, then the Division Series, and then they talk about the season itself. Um, spoiler alert, Boston Globe? But: I have a bit of a weakness for the Red Sox.
Call me sick & twisted if you will, but anytime I get to see a photojournalistic view of World Series MVP Mike Lowell's buns diving into home plate against the Rockies and Papelbon's spandex wonderdance....I give FIVE STARS to that!
And if that takes book review credits from me...SO BE IT.
An excellent photographic remembrance of the great Red Sox 2007 season; very well put together by The Boston Globe and much appreciated by this devoted long time Red Sox fan from Down Under.
