I might like to hide behind a computer, but I’ve had enough experience helping intelligence operatives through missions that surely I can spy on my good-looking, intriguing, construction toolbelt-wearing new neighbor, Owen, without being seen.
And it’s all going great(ish) until a water line breaks in my kitchen. Then there’s water damage and a whole thing with code and hidden dangers and weeks of repairs ahead of me, and before I know it, the repairs have taken out the entire wall. The wall my townhouse shares with Owen’s.
Now, staying unseen is proving rather difficult...
Meg Easton is the USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romances and romantic comedies with fun, memorable, swoon-worthy characters, and settings you’ll want to pack up and move to. She lives at the foot of a mountain with her name on it (or at least one letter of her name) in Utah. She loves gardening, bike riding, baking, swimming before the sun rises, and spending time with her husband and three kids.
Meg Easton knocked it out of the ballpark with this one!!! This series has been amazing, with each book getting better and better. I probably feel that way because with each subsequent book, we get to see more and more of the family members that we've met along the way and the updates for where they're at, and what they're doing now, makes me even more connected and invested in this spy family!
And Charlie!!! Her story is here!!! Please tell me that I am not the only one who has been super excited for her and Owen's story?! With all of the little teasers added into the previous book about him and her crushing on him, it was the BEST to finally read their story! And let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint!!! At All!!!! I was hooked!
If you love rom-coms, you're going to adore this book and couple. Seriously I was laughing out loud soooo many times! I was on a trip with my hubby and reading the book out on this garden terrace at our hotel while he was in a meeting, and I laughed so hard, out loud! And yes, there was someone close by. He was pretty engrossed in his own book and only flinched a little at my laugh. Hahaha! I couldn't help myself, seriously these two were adorably funny! This is another one that I need to dive back into again really soon! I've been reading Meg Easton's books for years and she just keeps getting better and better! This is probably my favorite of her books, but I have several favorites from her!

Are you ready to pick up your copy and dive in? I can't wait for you to do so! Hee Hee!!! I will say that I do recommend you read the books in order. I think you could read them out of order if you wanted to, but think you'll enjoy meeting and knowing the family and everything that is built up by reading them in order.
Content: Clean. Some kisses but nothing further. Some mild moments of peril but nothing graphic.
I received a copy from the author but will be purchasing my own copy. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
I’ve adored the Spies Don’t series so far—they've had me hooked with fast-paced action and high-stakes tension. But Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbour takes a different turn. This story slows things down and zooms in on Charlie and Owen as they quite literally break through the wall between them—starting with a hole in their kitchen and ending with so much more. The pace is quieter, and their connection unfolds with a beautiful, gradual slow burn.
There were definitely laugh-out-loud moments (classic Meg Easton humour!) and yes, a spy-worthy climax. But what stood out most to me was the charm of two characters growing into something real, one mishap, shared meal, and vulnerable conversation at a time.
‘Do I mind assisting someone who needs my help? Especially if that help is something I’m skilled at and gives me a chance to be impressive in front of a woman I’m attracted to? No, no, I do not mind.’
OH. HOW. I. LOVE. THIS. BOOK. 🥰 Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor by Meg Easton (book 3 in her hilarious spy romance series) officially takes the top spot as my favorite of the bunch! You can read it as a standalone, but honestly… do yourself a favor and read them all so you can fully appreciate the cameos from the whole tight-knit, loveable family and crew.
This story is like wrapping yourself in a big cozy blanket on a chilly day—comforting, warm, and so good for the soul. It’s got everything: humor, heart, brokenness, hope, joy, grief, and SO much love. I smiled the entire way through. The teasing banter is spot on, the setting is hilarious (a shared plastic-sheet “wall” makes for very funny moments), and when you hit the “growly voice” scene… you’ll know. And you’ll laugh. A lot.
Owen and our Charlie’s relationship is a romance readers gold! It weaves in so many aspects that it’s absolutely irresistible—built on trust, commitment, and seeing the potential in someone—not just where they are now, but where they can be. There’s a healing, peaceful quality to their story that really hit me in the best way.
Getting a sneak peek at the end of book 4 has me counting down the days until we get Miles’s story🎉
📚 Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor is out now—go grab your copy and get ready to read all night long!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Oh my word, I just adore Charlie and Owen! Their story is so fun, adorably sweet, at parts mildly suspenseful, and totally unique. I loved how both of them were reluctant to fall, how they go from normal neighbors to neighbors that share a temporary plastic wall (and all the awkward fun that produces), and the dash of spy-related action and suspense. I am loving the Lancaster family and am so excited for more to come!
Well I think I have a new favorite Meg Easton book! Let me tell ya’, this story was an absolute blast to read!
Charlie and Owen are so dang cute! These two (and Miles and Reese) had me cackling. The “drill”, the “Wall is Up Party”, the post it notes 🫠 So much fun! And it was heartfelt, too! Perfect combination.
I love this entire series so much. All the siblings, their HEA matches, and of course my favorite character, Hammie. He is just so adorable and sweet and funny. But truly each book has brought me so much joy and happiness. If you want a sweet romance that will have you smiling and laughing out loud, please go read these.
Many thanks to the author for the advanced copy, all opinions are my own.
I absolutely love this series! I love the family dynamics. I want to be part of this family! Not only are they amazing as individuals their love for each other gives all the feels. The spy elements of each story are exciting and intelligent. I also love the cosy feel, slowing me to relax between the action. The romance is perfect. I can’t wait for the next book! Please write is quickly 😁
I was privileged to receive an ARC copy of this book.
Wow! I absolutely devoured this third book in the Romancing the Spy series. After the sneak peek from the previous book where Charlie and her brothers spy on Owen, I was so excited for the two of them to get their own story. Here are five bite-sized reasons that I absolutely loved this book:
1.) This is one of the best neighbors-to-lovers books that I have ever read! Previously, I didn't have a whole ton of opinions about the whole "guy next door" trope- didn't love it, didn't hate it. But Meg nailed (pun intended) the chemistry and forced proximity with Charlie and Owen's shared townhome wall. 2.) Owen's obsession with historical restoration, old buildings, and even spoken word poetry was adorable! And Charlie's journey to understand how her past affects her present was inspiring. 3.) Owen and Charlie's relationship was drama free! Sometimes it's nice to just read a romance where everything feels smooths and easy and low drama. A lot of real life relationships are like that. 4.) The spy-dey senses! I love the spy aspect of this series, and this one didn't disappoint. 5.) The huge cast of supporting characters: We got to see more peaks into characters from past series.
This was a fun rom com with some suspense and adventure woven in which made for a delightful read. I really enjoyed getting to know Charlotte, or Charlie, more after reading the first two books in this series and I thought Owen was a great match for her.
Owen and Charlie were cute! I loved all the funny encounters and situations they got themselves into. Charlie was so witty and quick on her feet. Their dialogue back and forth was so entertaining. They were both quirky and fun. I loved that Owen made her feel safe. He was steady and sweet. Loved the added element of the renovations and how it connected them. They had this adorably sweet romance and I really enjoyed their story.
The added spy stuff was so fun! I found it all so interesting and I was curious throughout the entire book as Meg Easton slowly revealed things. I also was really happy to see the Lancaster family again and really hope Emerson and Blake get their stories and looking forward to Miles' story next!
Have you read this series? It’s such a fun spy/romcom combo. Each book follows a member of a clandestine government agency, each of whom is also related. The family business at its finest.
I can’t stop smiling over singing to do lists and the sock shimmy down the stairs. Owen’s character is so good. His confidence and softer edges made him very lovable.
I love when an author takes time for chapter titles. It’s a little touch I’m realizing I like a lot.
It’s a fun, lighthearted, romcom just perfect for reading at this point in the summer where everything feels a bit chaotic.
This is the third book in the Romancing The Spy series, and this is Charlie’s story. Charlie is happier behind the scenes, behind a computer guiding her brother when out on missions. She doesn’t like being seen so when the wall separating her apartment kitchen with her neighbour Owen’s apartment kitchen has to be removed for repairs, she is uncomfortable. It doesn’t help that she has a huge crush on her neighbour as well.
Owen is more at home restoring old buildings than navigating his own repairs but he accepts it and goes about his business. However, the wall being down helps him get to know his beautiful neighbour Charlie, and he starts to look forward to their interactions, the little post it notes they leave for each other on the makeshift partition. But he’s trying to protect his heart, he knows he will be leaving the area once his current job is over.
I loved these two together. I loved how safe Charlie felt around Owen, despite not knowing him for very long. Her work with the Clandestine Services Agency makes her trust her gut instincts and they are spot on with Owen, he’s the perfect boyfriend. The wedding scene was brilliant, with Charlie’s entire family vetting him and approving him, so much so they include him in Charlie’s birthday plans a few chapters later which was even funnier.
Meg Easton has a way of weaving the spy storyline into the main romance story, that makes it entertaining enough but not taking anything away from the romance between Owen and Charlie, rather more so bringing them closer together for a nail-biting finale showdown.
I love this series about a spy family finding their happily ever afters with their true loves! This is the third book in the series and I've enjoyed listening to all three in audio. They are all very nicely performed in dual narration.
The way Charlie and Owen connected and started falling for each other while the wall was down between their apartments was so fun! Their post-it notes and little gifts they would hide added a sweet way of sharing with each other. These two were just so genuine in their conversations and actions. They both had some events in their pasts that kept them from fully embracing certain things in their lives. I liked that they strengthened each other and helped each other see the best parts of themselves.
This was such a fun and sweet story! I really enjoyed listening to it.
Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor is Meg Easton’s newest book in her Romancing the Spy series. It is a sweet romantic comedy which contains no sex scenes or profanity. While Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor contains cameos from characters in Spies Don’t Fall for Their Asset and Spies Don’t Fall for Their Rival, it can absolutely be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. However, I recommend that the stories be read in order since there is a subplot that continues across the series.
24-year-old Charlotte “Charlie” Lancaster is a behind-the-scenes computer/electronics wizard for her family’s spy business, Clandestine Services Agency. She has five older, protective brothers and two almost sisters-in-law. She shares an apartment with her friend, Reese, and for the past six weeks, a handsome construction worker has been their neighbor. Owen is restoring the historic Shadowridge Theatre, and he expects the job to last eight months. Then he will move on to the next project, restoring a train station in Philadelphia.
Charlie and Owen have been eyeing each other for the past month, but she lacks confidence about having a serious romantic relationship, and Owen doesn’t stay in any town long enough to form entanglements. When Charlie discovers a water leak in their apartment, Reese approaches Owen for help and he quickly finds that the leak is actually in the wall between their apartments. The apartment manager sends a repair crew who shut their water off, take their kitchens apart, and then hang plastic sheeting up as a temporary wall divider. Now they essentially have no privacy, hearing each other and seeing opaque shapes through the plastic wall.
Charlie prefers to stay in the background, not wanting to draw any attention to herself. While she’s a wizard behind a computer, she’s Captain Awkward the rest of the time. She has to decide if she wants to be brave enough to try for a relationship with Owen, who is a wonderful cinnamon roll hero. He has his own baggage to overcome, which makes them a balanced pair of overcomers. Charlie has an important role in the Clandestine Agency’s long-running mission to take down Callid Aragundi’s criminal enterprise in Europe. She becomes suspicious about the billionaire benefactor of Owen’s historical theater restoration, which causes some conflict between them. Charlie and Owen have to learn to trust each other, while Charlie keeps her real occupation a secret and works to save the world.
I absolutely loved this book! Charlie and Owen are such wonderful characters with authentic emotions. While the spy stuff is like a madcap version of a Mission Impossible movie, the story is fun and the action is well-paced. This is a light and fun romance that’s perfect when you want an escape from your troubles. I enjoyed the cameos from characters in previous Romancing the Spy stories and can’t wait to read more stories featuring the Lancaster brothers.
I received an advance review copy (ARC) from the author for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am so thrilled with Meg Easton’s newest release; Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor. Charlie and Owen are incredible. Charlie hates the spotlight, but loves the thrill of her intense work life and chaotic home life. Owen loves his job renovating and remodeling old buildings but has heavy things in his heart from his past. Through amazing moments, their personal growth and their relationship blossoms into an amazing story with fun adventure and sweet romance that I wish never had to end!
Fun moments: “I am on fire” “Yup, he definitely heard us” Eavesdropping level: Expert Allll the post-it notes and gifts! Owen and the drill “I’ve always thought of you as a Big Girl steps girl” “I’ll always do everything I can to keep you safe”
Charlie and Owen are just perfect for each other. The fact that they will help each other play spy and run drills, reach out and give comfort when they are in need, and understand each other is so refreshing and fun! The writing style is spot on wonderful, I loved all the chapter headings, and really – so many good scenes that moved the story along and added depth to the characters. I realllly need to play “Back Pictionary” now and would highly consider moving to a duplex or home with a shared wall just to see what happens! The side characters – her friend Reese and the Lancasters, as well as Owen’s family, gave me all of the feels and just made this a 5 star book!
Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor is part of the Romancing the Spy series and I would recommend reading them in order to get the full value of love and banter with the Lancaster Family.
I’ve enjoyed this series but this story is my favorite probably because it is the most relatable to me. Charlotte aka Charlie is the woman behind the scenes as the “handler” for her brothers in the intelligence ops that they carry out with the secret government agency they work for. She likes being behind the scenes, hidden. In this book, Charlie’s wall comes down—figuratively as she comes to understand herself better, as well as literally when the connecting wall shared between her townhouse and the one belonging to Owen, her handsome neighbor, is torn down in order to repair some issues in their pipes and electrical systems. Owen, the male main character whose sensitivity to others and passion for restoring historical structures combined with his hilarious habits of singing his daily to-do lists and his hop-along shuffle while putting on socks made him very appealing. One of my favorite scenes was when Owen met Charlie’s family at a birthday party/talent show where everyone performed crazy skits. It made me want to be a guest at the party! This romantic suspense novel emphasized the romance which I liked. There were some suspenseful scenes but nothing too scary or violent. Highly recommend! I received an ARC. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.
Love! Obsessed! All the gushing! Meg Easton's Romancing the Spy series has been so good from the start and I feel like it's just getting better as it goes along. Spies Don't Fall for Their Neighbor had so many funny, witty moments. With all the run-ins Charlie and Owen had while their wall was missing (like coming down sudsy hair or singing while putting socks on) and then Charlie's birthday tradition of a ridiculous talent show was hysterical. One of the best scenes I've ever read in a book. Plus, because these books include a family of spies (okay yes Jace, I mean intelligence operatives), there is also plenty of action involved!
Not only was this book witty and entertaining but I loved the growing relationship between Owen and Charlie. They were just so cute together. I also liked that they each recognized their own past trauma they needed to share, acknowledge, and work through so they could really put their all into their developing relationship.
Since I've been reading this series from the start, I really enjoyed getting to see Jace and Mackenzie's wedding. So yes, while you can read these books as a standalone, you will probably enjoy them more if you read them in order. And it's definitely worth it! I'm so excited for Miles's story next!
Since the very first book in this series, I have been absolutely obsessed. Spies + romance... what could be better? I have loved every book in the series (and those connected as well), and I could not wait to get Charlie's story... and it absolutely did not disappoint. I absolutely loved Charlie and Owen together. There's no better way to truly get to know someone better than to have the wall between you torn down... and I do mean the literal wall after a water leak in the wall connecting their homes leaves them with nothing but a sheet of plastic separating their kitchens. Their story is one filled with accidental eavesdropping, some embarrassing moments, sweet post it notes and gifts, just the right amount of danger and adventure, and oh-so-much chemistry... and I was here for it all! If you love spy movies and a good romcom, this is a book/series not to be missed!
Spies Don't Fall for Their Neighbor is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the third book in the Romancing the Spy series. While I think this could probably enjoyed as a standalone as well, I do think those who have read the previous books will have a much better understanding of Charlie's family dynamics/business.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Charlie wasn’t trying to use her spying skills on her new neighbor. She was simply observing the handsome guy with the tool belt who happened to live next door But when a broken pipe turns into a shared wall (or missing wall?), she finds herself closer to Owen than she ever planned.
Owen’s busy restoring a historic theater, juggling investors, and navigating a whole new kind of tension with the adorably awkward woman next door. She’s smart, funny, beautiful, and might just be hiding a few secrets of her own...
What you'll love: spy romcom dual pov the wall!!!! the post-it notes eavesdropping touring the theater entire Lancaster family Charlie's birthday party witty, flirty banter suspense and adventure all the kisses!!!
Spies + romcom = actual perfection!! I’ve been obsessed with this series since book one, and each new story just makes me love it more. This book was such a clever and unique twist on the next-door neighbor trope and honestly SO MUCH FUN. Owen and Charlie completely stole my heart!!
Every interaction between Owen and Charlie and their shared "wall" left me grinning: the gifts, the post-it notes, the accidental eavesdropping, the unexpected rescues...every moment was swoony and adorable in the BEST WAY! Owen and Charlie were adorable together and their chemistry was off the charts. Add in the dash of danger, a little mystery, the hilarious (and protective!) Lancaster clan, and is it any wonder I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars??
This is book 3 in the series and while it works as a standalone, do yourself a favor, my friends, and start from the beginning. You will love Charlie's family even more and trust me, you want all of their backstory! Read it now, fangirl with me later. This one gets ALL THE STARS!!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.
Who would have thought that a broken pipe in your home could lead to friendship and romance? The whole idea behind this plotline was pure genius.
Charlie Lancaster works for her family's spy business, Clandestine Agency Services. She is the woman behind the computer and has no desire for the spotlight. She is happiest behind a screen directing her brothers on their exciting missions. Romance is not in the cards for Charlie, or so she thinks.
Owen is the next door neighbor who loves restoring old buildings. He is a nomad of sorts, and only stays in a city long enough to finish a project before he moves somewhere else. Romance is the last thing on his mind.
All of this changes when the two neighbors are suddenly sharing a plastic sheet for a wall between their townhomes. They begin to get to know each other, some of which is inadvertent since there is no expectation of privacy when the only thing between you and your neighbor is a plastic sheet with a little tape.
Charlie and Owen made the sweetest couple as both of them overcame their insecurities together.
This book and this series is so entertaining with a little taste of danger, a lot of swoony romance and so many laughs. There were so many funny scenes from being saved by the drill, a soaped up head and a towel, a family talent show and a tangle with hanging basket, which are just a small portion of the scenes that made me giggle. The texting banter, the oh so sweet sticky notes and Owen singing his to do list to the tune of a hit song all added up to make a fantastic romcom. Now, just add in a little James Bond music, and it is complete.
This is another winner for the Romancing The Spy series.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“You don’t avoid grief by avoiding joy. That’s like refusing hot cocoa because it might burn your tongue.”
I’ve been waiting forever to read Charlie’s story and it did not disappoint. Because she likes to be behind the scenes, I expected her story to be a little different than her two spy brothers.
“I don’t want to be seen deeply. I want to be seen surface-ly.”
Owen was adorable and the cutest neighbor ever. I really liked how even though they both knew they didn’t want a relationship, they just couldn’t help but connect with each other. They built a solid friendship when the wall between their homes came down and their own walls came down.
“Good fences make good neighbors. Shared walls, make romantic comedies.”
Even when Charlie discovers something that could possibly change Owen’s life for the worst, she’s honest with him and tries to help him solve the problem without giving her tech up/spy career away. There’s a really amazing chapter about forgiveness that was fantastic and so needed for both of those characters. It was very touching.
“If you turn it over, then you’re released from carrying that burden. That’s why forgiveness helps the forgiver.”
Charlie and Owen are just...wow! They are so delicious together! Their romance builds naturally, and I enjoyed it so much! Charlie's family is one I would love to be part of if I didn't already have the best family in the world! Even though they belong to a clandestine organization of spies, they are so much fun! When they get together, they leave the "family business" behind and really know how to bond and have the best parties! Because of Charlie's past (being the only girl, the youngest and having been kidnapped as a toddler), the brothers have always been overprotective of her. Charlie is therefore, comfortable behind her computer and directing ops. She doesn't like to "be seen" or be in the limelight! Her next-door neighbor, Owen works in construction and when their shared wall has a water leak, it has to be taken out, With only plastic sheeting between them, they get to know each other very well! Total chaos ensues and sticky notes reign! However, when Charlie finds nefarious deeds are being done that affect Owen, how will she break the news? And, how will she ever tell him about her family's business? This rom-com will snag you from the first page until the last! I was laughing, sighing and loving every page! Can't wait for the next book already! This author sure knows how to write!!
I have been eagerly awaiting this sequel since last summer. What a tease! Spies Don't Fall for Their Rival was one of my top 10 reads last year, and I was ready to reenter the world of espionage!
There is so much to love about book three. It really embraces the romcom genre, and there are a lot of hilarious moments. But in true spy fashion, those hang-on- the-edge-of-your-seats moments are there too!
Charlie and Owen are front and center in this story: her, the techie spy sidekick who prefers to be behind the scenes, and Owen, the transient neighbor who has a passion for restoring old buildings and has zero plans to settle down in one place. What do they have in common? An intense attraction and an affinity for the "growly voice." If you are a true romance fan, then you know exactly what this means!
Sweet and swoony, adorable and dangerous, Spies Don't Fall for Their Neighbors fulfilled every one of my hopes for this sequel. Check it out- you won't be disappointed!
I received a complimentary copy of the author's story to read and review. All thoughts contained here are my honest opinions.
📚 Series: Romancing the Spy (Book 3) 🎭 Genre: Romcom
🥜 In a Nutshell: A spy falls for her neighbor but must keep her identity a secret. When a water line breaks in their building and a wall between them is taken down, only a thin piece of plastic separates them. The two grow closer and it becomes harder for her to keep her job a secret.
✅ Close proximity ✅ Neighbors to more ✅ Secret identity
I have loved all of the books in this series so far and this new one is fantastic too! This one had a little less spy stuff in it and focused more on the neighbors aspect. When the water line breaks and the wall is taken down and replaced by a sheet of plastic, Charlie and Owen really get to know each other and it was really sweet. I loved the notes they left for each other and how they picked up on the routines of the other one. It's great having the other family members back too. Charlie being the girl among all her protective brothers led to some fun moments when they meet Owen. And then there is still a little bit of spy stuff worked in too. I smiled a lot reading this book. I would definitely recommend this whole series!
Thank you @megeaston_author for an early copy of Spies Don’t Fall For Their Neighbor. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 🤍

🛑Read on with caution; review may contain spoilers🛑
Spies Don’t Fall for Their Neighbor by Meg Easton starts off a little slow, but once it finds its rhythm, it’s an enjoyable read. Charlie and her neighbor Owen have great chemistry, and it was fun watching their relationship unfold. Their chemistry shines through in witty banter, subtle flirting, and small acts of care (the notes and small gifts!) that slowly draw them closer. I loved watching them go from polite neighbors to something a whole lot more swoon-worthy.
The Lancaster family are a hilarious bunch, never missing a chance to ask outright about “the neighbor.” These lighthearted interruptions keep things fun, even when the stakes get a little higher.
While I wish the plot had a bit more action, the spy and espionage elements sprinkled throughout added a nice layer of intrigue. Overall, a charming mix of slow-burn romance and light suspense.
I love just reading a nice clean romance that gives you all the feels. If you love rom-coms then this book is for you. Charlie and Owen's story is romantic and cute and has all the elements needed to be the perfect read. This book wasn't super fast paced at times but it was when it needed to be, Charlie and Owen got to grow as characters and it made their story more realistic. There was lots of spy elements to the plot of course and tons of humour that had me laughing out loud. Meg made these two characters so realistic with showing that they had realistic reactions to situations and how their relationship progressed. I really liked that Charlie felt safe and secure around Owen, she got that sense about him immediately even though with her job she has to really be on the lookout for anything suspicious. Own was sweet and funny and made the effort to really make things work with Charlie despite his previous mindset that nothing works out wanted to ruin things. These two together were super cute together and I really enjoyed reading this book.
I do love a good neighbors-to-lovers romance, and this one did not disappoint!
After reading so many romance novels, sometimes it feels like there is nothing new under the sun, but Meg Easton always manages to surprise and delight me with the adventures that her characters have. Catching international bad guys, surviving major home renovations, enjoying hilarious family dynamics…the Lancaster Business Solutions crew brings it all to the table.
Charlie experienced a major trauma as a child, and it still influences how her family treats her, even though she’s the whiz tech support specialist that keep them all thriving in their own high stakes work. She and her roommate share a duplex with Owen, a contractor with a passion for historical architecture who brings his expertise to bear when renovating a beautiful old theater downtown. When a major kitchen leak tears down the walls that divide them, their proximity leads to a lot of laughter, a budding romance, and the answers to a mystery that has stymied the Lancaster family.
This book was a thrill ride from start to finish, and I loved every second of it!
🎶 “But first, I need a clean work shirt, “‘Cuz I am more than eye dessert!!” 🎶
This series is perfection. All the spy (excuse me, *intelligence operative*) drama. All the romance and comedy. None of the bedroom scenes that I DON’T want to see.
I loved getting to see more of Charlie in this book. You really got to know her and love her as a character and see how her brain works and why she is how she is.
Owen was perfection personified. Kind, caring, handsome, sweet, and a little bit sassy. He was always there for Charlie, and was the stability and security she needed in her life to feel safe.
I love how the plot was good but also original. I’ve never read a book quite like it. I’ve read the “next door neighbor” trope before, but the complexities of this specific story took it to the next level and made it totally unique.
Meg Easton has been at the top of my favorite author list for a while. I took a chance randomly buying the first book in the “Romancing the Spy” series, and it was the best “blind” book purchase I’ve ever made!!
