This book is so cute, hot and romantic at the same time aghhskhjskh

First of all Can we talk about Tae freaking Wang? I just can imagine an asian mouth watering man with glasses, all professor when I think about him. He is just so hot. Older man always does it for me. And the way he was obsessed with June 🤌🏻🤌🏻. That man had put some spell in me,he is literally perfect.

Secondly June Veronica Clark omg I love this girl. She is cute, funny, sweet yet not immature. I loved her vibes. I loved her friendship with fiona so much. She is literally living my dream life with a god of man (I'm definitely not jealous). I love how she communicated about everything with Tae. I freaking hate misunderstanding between couples.

Overall it's quite good book, you can give it a try. Oh and fyi this book is in 3rd POV but surprisingly it's really good written!

This book was just what I needed to get out of my reading slump. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This book is the perfect combination of heartbreak, humor, twists, sweetness, and smut.💕

The story begins one evening when June goes out to enjoy the evening with her friends. She meets a complete stranger named Tae there. One thing leads to another. In the end, the two shared an unforgettable night. The following day, she discovers that Tae is in fact her professor. As an accidental one-night encounter turns into a spicy and passionate intimacy, the lines between professor and student become more hazy.❤️‍🔥🤭

Tae! He's a dream character who will capture your heart. He exudes an incredible charm. I adore him. He always tells June what he likes about her, and that's the most beautiful part.😩👀

And June. I adore her. She's fun, kind, entertaining, and nice. And the way she handles every situation is incredible. Every exchange between her and Tae was enjoyable for me.✨️💋

ARC review:

I’ve received the book for a honest review. I was expecting a lot from the book and was honestly surprised that I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to.
The professor x student relationship felt unfortunately insincere from the beginning. He didn’t care really care about any consequences whatsoever. Yes, there was a short 2 chapter moment where he thought it wasn’t a good idea for them to be together, but that was over in a heartbeat.
Unfortunately it more felt like reading a fan fiction than reading a finished, edited book. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, since we all know and love fanfics that start with “sorry, but unfortunately English isn’t my first language”… but I expected more from a book.

In the end I was fine with their relationship and the way the story went. Simon was shady from the beginning and the whole book felt like a weird professor x student version of 50 shades.
Also Tae was soooo emotionally manipulative. The whole “touch her and you die” trope in other books is usually my thing, but this felt cringy and awful to read.

I’m still looking forward to other books from the author, because I want to see the growth from book to book. The next one will for sure have more plot and twists that make more sense and feel less rushed. I’m excited!

Let me just say, I got scammed 😂 I got this as an ARC and 😍😍
But I was like "finally a fluffy🥺"! No, it's not fluffy 😂 at least, not compared to others I've read 😂🥺

It's perfect tho, truly a wonderful book 🖤

The spice is on point, never too much or not enough 🔥 but when it hit.. damn 🥵🥵

The friendship between the girls is damn cute. I'm totally in love with Fiona 🥺 that girl is always partying (xD) but is also best-friend goals!

Tae is.. probably my dream man 😂 he's sweet, protective, honest, smart, sensitive, open, understanding, older,.. damn, love the guy 😭

June, she's.. June. Strong-headed, smart, sensitive, sweet, courageous,.. June 🖤 you'll love June 🖤

A book about a student-professor relationship could've been written as a novella, but THIS, THIS is what I wanted. A plot, with twists, well written, untangling one thing at a time.
I loved every second of this, really did 🖤

And I can't wait for the next one 🥺🥺

Hot! That's is my first word to describe this book. I really admire the bond between June and Professor Tae although it was a fast pace story, their chemistry is amazing! Imagine going to class and he's your professor, I think I have to extend my semester...jk or maybe not?

But fear not, this book also gives some unexpected twist that makes you second guess everyone around you. Some relationship will broke but you have to let go and get away from their toxicity. Overall I enjoy my time reading this book and seriously cannot get over with Professor Tae's "that mouth....." Swooooon 🧎🏻‍♀️(I'm going to look for my secret cave now....)

Pssst...this book also very 🔥🔥🔥🔥 😏

This book was steamy!!!! We loved the story line and the MMC and FMC. We all love an age gap and this one didn’t disappoint with also adding in the sprinkle of forbidden professor/student. If that’s your trope of interest we definitely recommend this book!! 📚

ARC Read

Jealous! He was jealous, and it was driving him insane. Subtly, June knew that too, and was enjoying it.

Mid-level spice
3.5 stars

A decent book, it felt a bit predictable at times but in a good way. The predictability felt like a double-edged sword; it provided a sense of familiarity, but at times it made the story less engaging than it could have been.

It’s a decent read for fans of romance. I’d recommend it for readers looking for a more straightforward narrative without high stakes, but for readers wanting a book with excitement and unpredictability, it might fall short of expectations.

I would have loved for a bit more backstory for Cassandra and Simon, purely just to understand everything in context a bit better.

I was gifted an arc from Lilian.

"To this day, he couldn’t pick out one single thing that made him drawn to her, and maybe it was because it wasn’t just one thing. Maybe it was everything that made June; it was her entire existence that made his heart stop and begin to beat for her." - Professor Tae

A cute romance book with a shocking twist.

When June finds out that her new professor is the man from her one-night stand, she knows that nothing else can happen. Even though she wants nothing more than to submit to their obvious chemistry. So when Tae makes it very clear that he wants her and isn't prepared to let him go, June has to decide whether she will accept him or not.

If you are looking for a book full of spicy, twists, and hot professors... then this book is perfect for you!
I enjoyed reading June and Tae's story. Reading as they met and came together, how they held each other up throughout a good few rough moments.
I loved the professor/student dynamic, seeing how they navigated that, and how people reacted as they found out.

The pacing is a little all over the place but that fits in with the plotline of the book, which is all over the place as well.
It was a little bit like Lilian had finished writing the book and realised she needed to add more to the plotline of the story, so she threw in a small twist that felt a little rushed and maybe unnecessary.
There wasn't one narrator throughout the book, it was a bit like everyone was telling the story, even June's parents. Which made it a little hard to understand at first.
However, other than those little issues, I really liked this book! It was really easy to read, I devoured it in a day, the writing simple enough to binge read whilst also giving so much detail.

I would give this book a spice level of 3. But it is a spicy 3, Check out Lilian's Instagram for more details on the spice content.

I liked June. I thought she was a really sweet girl who wasn't afraid to be a brat when the time was right. I liked her friendship with Fiona, especially when June realised that her relationship with Tae was making her ignore her friends she apologised and refocused on her friendship.

I love how protective Tae was! Not that he was without faults, he was a little messed up in some scenes but he had made up for it by the end. I loved his more powerful side, where he made sure June knew he was in charge.

Overall, I liked how cute this book was, even though I spent so much time cringing, it was a good cringe.

I received an advanced readers copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is partially what I expected (fast read, age gap romance, taboo relationship, etc), and partially not (iffy grammar, no plot, boring spice, and a borderline abusive behavior from MMC). Romance books are my jam – they’re quick, spicy, they don’t require a lot of brainpower, and they’re vaguely entertaining. I was excited for the opportunity to read this ARC because, based on the synopsis, it sounded like it would tick all of the boxes. Unfortunately, this fell short of my expectations:

Here are my opinions:

This book did not have a plot & not in a good way. Romance books that don’t have plots NEED to have good spice, and the “spice” in this book was boring. It felt like the author was slightly uncomfortable writing open-door spice, which is fine as everyone has different comfort levels, however the book was marketed as spicy & it was not.

The grammar was virtually non-existent. It read like a Wattpad story that had been hastily written and no one proofread it. There were parts in the dialogue where it seemed disjointed almost like the character had been reacting/replying to something that the author had removed. It threw me off.

The ‘touch her & die trope” is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, the MMC came off as an abusive jerk because he took out all of his anger and frustration out of the FMC. He was emotionally manipulative – a prime example is when he let her feel bad for accidentally running into his ex-wife while out of a date.

It was mostly dialogue, and very little description of anything else. I think this book would have benefited from additional description of the characters, the scenarios (clubbing with friends, the classroom, etc).

There were glimpses where I could see the author’s vision, and IMO this book has the bones to be a good romance book. In spite of all I disliked, I would read other new works by the author for two reasons:

I can (kind of) see what she was trying to do; and

If Goodreads is correct, this is only the second book published by the author. I have read initial books from authors & disliked them, but read later works and loved them due to writing growth.

The author seems incredibly passionate about writing, and that is amazing! I am looking forward to seeing how she grows in her career!

The book had some good concepts however it jumped around a lot and did leave a lot to be desired. There was a lot of gaps in the storyline/plot as it jumped through it, although it wasn’t written in POV it almost read like the characters talking in 3rd person which was a little odd.

There were some good ideas however the spice scenes didn’t really hold anything and the plot wasn’t strong enough to rely on the spice like in other romances.

Good foundations but not executed very well.

MMC was a little borderline aggressive and the constant threats to his ex wife rather than being the very much grown up he was and like telling the police?

Also a lot of throwaway side plots that seemed unnecessary like he was the ceo of a company? Like why?
She was the only getting the degree in Greek mythology but it was a class full of students like just doing it for extra cred? Is that a thing in American schools?
He hadn’t spoken to Mrs green in 2 years but then all of a sudden back together like why?
Did Jess get arrested? Simon?
Did she literally blow up a life long friendship cause of that?? What is she 12.
The biggest one is how did his name become Tae from Wang… like what.
Also I don’t really know what the characters look like other than FMC has tattoos, a big butt and red hair, and he wears a lot of black… like what.

A Captivating Forbidden Love Story – Highly Recommended!

I recently finished reading this novel, and I have to say, it was an incredibly engaging and unique experience. The plot revolves around a professor falling in love with his student, a classic forbidden romance, but the way the author developed the story made it feel fresh and exciting.

One of the most intriguing aspects was how the relationship between the professor and student was portrayed—not just as a mere taboo, but as something deeper and more complex. The tension between them kept me hooked throughout the book.

What really set this novel apart from others in the genre was its ending. Unlike many predictable conclusions, this one was refreshing and left a lasting impression. It wasn't the typical way most romance novels wrap up, and I appreciated that creative twist.

Kudos to the author for crafting such a compelling and well-written story! The pacing was perfect, the characters felt real, and the emotional depth was captivating. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance with a forbidden twist, and is looking for something a little different from the usual tropes. You won't be disappointed!

This book felt very character driven; more so than plot. It felt like I was reading interactions and thoughts. This isn’t to say there isn’t a plot, I just felt like while reading it, it got buried. I could see where the author was trying to go with this and it is only their second published book, I unfortunately think it lacked in grammar, execution of the plot.

There was the main plot line of it being a Teacher x Student relationship and It is what you read but the sub plots were what made this a bit difficult to follow, by that I mean there would be a sudden change to what was happening at the beginning of a new paragraph with giving little to no context on what had changed. There were parts where it had felt as if characters were just reacting to something the author had removed from the book. Also this book is advertised as spicy, which don’t get me wrong there was spice but it was almost like the author had felt slightly uncomfortable writing open-door spice, which is fine as everyone is different and is comfortable with different things.

I did however not entirely hate the relationship between the two MCS, they were there for each other and you could tell that they did really care for one another. But overall I just struggled with it.

📚: forbidden bond: in my professor's bed by @lee_leeian — releasing October 31st

my ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

aesthetics: 💃🍷🔥📚❤️💔👀🖤🤫💍

tropes: forbidden romance, professor X student, ex's brother-in-law, he falls first, age gap.

The dynamics in this book ate! I’m usually not into the professor-student trope, but Lilian Oklobia’s storytelling made me fall in love with it. The chemistry between June and Tae Wang is next-level—seriously sizzling, and I couldn’t get enough! Their connection is so intense, and I’ll definitely be holding these characters close to my heart for a long time.

This was my first book by Lilian, and I have zero regrets. She brought out everything I love in a romance and more. With a mix of suspense, betrayal, and some raw, steamy scenes, I was hooked. This is one I’ll be rereading, no question.

Happy release day, Lilian Oklobia! Thank you for trusting me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to see what you write next because I know you’ll eat it up every time!

Reviewed as an ARC:

Someone please come erase my memory so I can read this again for the first time. I was so obsessed with Tae from the moment he came on page that I'm still not over him all these weeks later. This book? Ate and left no trace. I read it all in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.

I won't lie and say there aren't a couple things that could be fixed. Although the book overall reads a little choppy and it reminds me of Wattpad, the actual plot and development of the characters negates any issues I had with the way it read. After reading about Tae, I have no problem with him being my wattpad bf at all. Man can have whatever he wants from me. June chose the right man with this one.

Also.... Ew Simon. No. Just, no.

The spice in this was tasty af too. Not too much, not too little. Honestly the smutty scenes were very delectable. Savory and delectable.

Holy Spicy! This book was very hot all the way through the book, even from the prologue! We follow the journey of Tae and June and how they went from meeting at a club to being teacher and student dying Junes last semester in college! Tae and June are extremely attracted to each other not just on the physical scale but also the emotional scale all the way from the start.

I did not expect a single thing that happened near the end of this book and I just sat here reading with my hand on my mouth. Through perilous journeys of ex-wives, obsessive exs, and the world being against their relationship, they rise to the top even when death is on the line. The only part of this book that gave me pause was that the POV switched a lot and I got lost a few times but the story was very good! If you love fast paced books, forbidden relationships, and complex friends, pick this book up!

You asked for spice you got it. From one night stand at the club to being obsessed with her. I started the book and didn’t want to stop. Each chapter kept me intrigued. The girl friendships, the best friend, the obsessed ex, the deranged wife lol. I loved every chapter of the book and I didn’t want it to end. I loved the love June and Tae portrayed, the understanding, it was everything and more
The plot twist. I sure as hell didn’t see it coming and I was sad too. You will go through all the emotions, laugh, love, cry, smile, swoon.

You don’t want to miss this book

Lilian is a great author and as much as I loved her book one I love the book two and I sure as hell I’m looking forward to the book three

I love the Professor/Student trope, and anytime I come across this trope, I know I have to have it in my hands. “Forbidden Bond” paces quickly like a novella moving at an insta-love speed but at a length of an entire novel. The two characters, Tae and June, have immediate chemistry as they proceed in a relationship on the down low but not without interference from Tae’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Cassandra, and June’s former boyfriend-turned-friend, Simon.

At times, I had challenges following some of the narrative and flow of the story. Even though there is an age gap, the characters frequently act young with each other. Overall, I liked how June stood up for herself and didn’t allow Tae to talk down to her. The steamy scenes were good, too.

So where do I even begin?
First of all, let me just tell you all, that Tae is my man.
Now that I made that clear let me tell you about this amazing story between June the cutie relatable girl and her hot professor.
I mean what's not to love about their story, it has an age gap, forbidden love, taboo, we shouldn't be doing this but can't stop kinda vibe which are my freaking favourite.
Also prepare yourself to cry and be shik shake shook.
So Lilian keeps me up so late every time I get my hands on one of her books and I love sleeping early so that must describe how hooked I get with her stories.

I don’t even know what to say about this book. There were so many elements that I loved! Tae is a dream, he’s like everything you could want wrapped into one hot man package. June, sweet beautiful June. This girl had me wanting to laugh with her, cry with her, shake her a little for being stubborn at times. We all need a friend like Fiona. She’s the real MVP and Jess can suck a big one 😒. Simon, you need therapy sir. This book was 🌶️🌶️🌶️😮‍💨😮‍💨 had me wanting to go back to college! If you’re into an age gap, forebidden college romance with a splash of betrayal on the side then this one’s for you! 10/10 would recommend!

June and Tae. What shall we say about you two🥰

She is sassy and has a mouth on her.
He is stern and protective.

She is a student.
He is a teacher.

She has Fiona who is the friend we all wish we could have!
He has baggage that can’t seem to take a hint.

Look…who doesn’t love a good forbidden relationship? This one’s comes to you with some tension, spice and a couple of things that you won’t see coming. I truly loved reading about Tae and June and seeing their story unfold! Such a sweet story.

Can they survive then obstacles and roadblocks thrown their way?

Read to find out!

This book was amazing

It was good paced. I love how you could really see that characters feel and how they felt about each other even tho they shouldn’t have been feeling that way about each other. I could definitely see myself reading another book by this authors, I love the writing style although I’m not a fan of third person POV, it wasn’t that bad and while I was reading I was definitely forgetting that it was in the third person.

Would definitely read this book again ‼️
