Rate this book
Jan is a thirty year old man who harbors a fascination for rubber, bondage, suspension, chastity and a number of other fetishes associated with alternative lifestyles. He becomes financially independent working in the IT industry, and purchases a home on two hundred remote acres where he can pursue his passions without interference from the outside world. The only sticking point - the continuing lack of a competent lady who'd be totally dedicated to his needs. As a possible substitute for a real female, he purchases a device called 'Confidante' - a high-tech handheld featuring all the most recent technological advancements. In addition to the usual computing and telephone functions, the device includes speech recognition, retinal scans, learning capabilities that would boggle the mind. He programs the device to handle numerous domestic chores, and utilizes a headset to maintain a constant link with 'Connie'. Later, he opts to have 'her' implanted in his lower abdomen so their connection will be seamless and he'll never need worry about a power source.

Using a sub-vocalization capability, Jan and 'Connie' communicate without speech, and when his mind drifts into the kinky world of his sexual fantasies, she is inside his thoughts, asking questions. When Jan realizes that he can program Connie to become his Dream Domme, he enthusiastically charges down a path of submission unaware of the alarming fate that awaits him. Able to reprogram herself without Jan's knowledge, Connie assumes complete control. Taking her cues from his own fantasies, she orders all the items she needs for Jan's enslavement over the Internet and begins a thorough transformation process that will turn Jan into a creature he no longer recognizes. Is there any escape? Or will his life be forever owned by his merciless Domme?

This book was very imaginative and exciting if one is interested in extreme bondage and okay with non-consensual submission. For those who are into BDSM and imagine creating a fantasy robot Domme, this book will get you hot.

The publisher's description is very accurate about what happens in the book so I don't need to add anything here about the content.

While I'm not a fan of non-consensual sex, the fact that Jan created his own sexual prison made the story exciting to me. I was intrigued by the developments as Jan goes deeper an deeper into his self-imposed bondage and finally loses control.

I really enjoyed the fantasy JG Leathers created but the fact that it was so completely impossible, even in a fantasy future world, really detracted from my enjoyment. In movie terms, he failed to establish a 'Credible suspension of disbelief.' There were just too many questions.

Questions like: Why did Connie turn on him and become so cruel? Why weren't there safety protocols to prevent Connie's software from enslaving her owner? And lastly, and the most importantly: How could Jan endure Connie torture when several psychological studies have shown people become unstable after only a few hours of total isolation?

I really enjoyed the bondage throughout this book up until the extreme isolation Jan is forced to endure. For me, it was just too cruel. But up until that point, the scenes of extreme bondage, body modification, and forced slavery were excellent. Jan created a world where he could enjoy bondage and submission with the perfect mistress and it was wonderful to watch. The fantasy of living out one's bondage dreams on a secluded estate with a devoted and skilled Dominatrix was inspired.

The book is easy to read with interesting twists, turns and kinks that I found thoroghly enjoyable. I would have enjoyed it more though, if it was based a little more in reality and had stayed closer to consensual and sane. But I guess that is not JG's method.
