There’s a shock that follows the loss of everything you knew, everything you believed, everything you dreamed. And in that terrible moment, frozen in time, your mind fails to process the pain because every descriptive word, everything you once understood, no longer has a foundation, and without a root, the mind cannot decipher meaning.
But as the fog begins to fade in the realization that you will not wake from this nightmare, shock gives way to loss, loss to grief, grief to acceptance.
It is here that those who remain find themselves at a die or…

Fall of Freedom is the story of how America falls and the inspiration behind the thrilling saga that begins in The Last Patriots.
J.E. Ribbey (Joel and Esther) deploys a compelling writing style, combining a fast-paced action thriller with deep character immersion, giving readers an edge-of-your-seat adventure they will feel in the morning. A combat veteran, outdoorsman, and survival enthusiast, Joel enjoys mingling his unique experiences and expertise with their passion for homesteading and the self-sufficient lifestyle. Together with their four kids they manage a small farmstead in Minnesota, where, besides taking care of the animals and gardens, they also run a small event venue and offer farm camping. This is a prequel to the Last Patriots series by J.E Ribbey. America has fallen and China has taken over and the John Redding family has survived due to preparing for such a time as this. It is a tale well told & very suspenseful. I recommend this to everyone who enjoys post-apocolyptic reading.
Fall of Freedom was good, but probably my least favorite of the series. The first 1/4 of the book was slow and mostly homesteading preparations for later, alongside frequent monologues about how liberty dies. Now, all of that stuff is fascinating to me on an intellectual level, and I loved seeing the parallels in the story in what is happening today—the story seemed very inspired by recent events. But in story form, the previously discussed elements did not flow as well. In any case, this story is a valuable reminder of how valuable our freedom is.
