LURKING BENEATH THE LUXURY OF JENRICK HALL IS A SINISTER PLOT...
After the murder of a former colleague, Peter Black embarks on his most perilous mission yet—penetrating the fortified world of British billionaire Sir Mathew Jenrick, the man his colleague was working with before their death.
Infiltrating Jenrick’s estate, Peter becomes bodyguard for the magnate’s nine-year-old daughter, Penelope, drawing him close to the innocent child and her tutor, Harriet Granger.
But lurking beneath the luxury of Jenrick Hall is a sinister plot that Peter’s colleague died trying to expose. As he peels back the layers of treachery, the stakes escalate beyond borders, drawing him into a deadly game where trust is scarce and betrayal looms large.
With time against him, Peter must dismantle the conspiracy before the world is irreversibly disrupted. As alliances shift and true intentions come to light, Peter faces a brutal can he save the world and protect those he has come to love?
Step into a gripping thriller where every light casts a dark shadow, and trust is the riskiest gamble of all; a world where Peter Black is the ghost operative.

Stunned! Loved the previous Peter Black books and raced through them. Couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. Seems like it's written by a new to the series author. Descriptions are so clunky and overuse of odd descriptive terms. Made me stop and think about why it was written in this way. I reached 25% and couldn't take any more. I shouldn't have to think about why the author should describe things in such a way, I want to be dragged breathless through the book and stay up half the night to finish it, then fidget around waiting for the next one. Amazon UK was unanimously positive so was Amazon US with only one dissenter (it wasn't me)! Have I missed something? This is my first ever review and it's a pity it's negative. Suppose the good news is I've started and surely it can only get better. I've been reading since childhood and can't go to sleep without reading my book. Mark Greaney never disappoints neither does Chris Ryan (well he's a Geordie from my home town innit). I've a huge list of bankers for an adventurous trip. Some I've never tried like Jack Carr who should know what he's talking about. Anyway, I hope the real Peter Black returns, I'm in mourning!
This was one of the better Peter Black novel. He went undercover and had cosmetic surgery to create Henry McGill! He fell for Harriet and Penelope . But the cost of mission is Barriers death and Penelope hate of him for killing her father. But she will discover the truth when older. For Peter the cost of mission was great!!! 10 stars plus poll Thanks Carl Clause
I’m so happy that I finally get to give out a 5-star review! (I haven’t yet this year) The author(s) really knocked this one out of the park. Loaded with ups and downs, hero’s and antihero’s, excellent cast and riveting storyline. Well done!
As with all Peter Black stories one wonders will it ever end! There are stories inside of stories in each book. They are never dull and keep you guessing until the end.
A well written thriller mixed in with a love story and special feelings for the daughter of a very bad very rich man. I enjoyed every page of this book!
A fast paced thriller set in the world of political intrigue and espionage, but with emotional development and characters that bring a lump to your throat and the occasional tear to your eye
