Vehicle Stability Control Systems: A Modern Approach

Rate this book
Active Vehicle Stability Control Systems (VSCS) are electronic systems that help to prevent a vehicle from skidding or rolling over. They do this by applying corrective forces to the vehicle's brakes or steering system, helping to keep the vehicle stable. Active VSCS typically use a combination of sensors, such as wheel speed sensors, yaw rate sensors, and lateral acceleration sensors, to monitor the vehicle's motion. The sensors send data to a control unit, which uses a mathematical algorithm to calculate the corrective forces that need to be applied to the vehicle. These forces are then applied to the vehicle's brakes or steering system, helping to keep the vehicle stable.
