Although I appreciated the overall storyline, it was a little overly dramatic for me.
I’m still giving this four stars because I think the author deserves it in the amount of work he put into it and definitely managed to execute some thing that will be great for the right readers.
Henry Archbold's "Double Cross" delivers a deliciously devious political thriller that feels ripped straight from today's headlines.
The book introduces us to Amelia Cross, quite possibly the most fascinating anti-hero to grace political fiction in years - a legislative aide who's actually the puppet master pulling all the strings in Washington.
What makes this story so addictive is watching Amelia's perfectly constructed house of cards begin to wobble when two determined journalists start digging into her shadowy empire.
You'll find yourself flipping pages late into the night as protests erupt and public outrage builds, all while wondering if Amelia will somehow find a way to outmaneuver everyone.

A gripping political thriller set against the backdrop of Capitol Hill. The novel delves into the intricate dance of power, ambition, and manipulation within the corridors of American politics. Readers will find themselves immersed in a world where every decision holds significant weight, alliances constantly shift, and the line between right and wrong is blurred by ambition and necessity.
Double Cross was a political thriller that kept you engaged and turning the page to see what would happen next. Intriguing storyline and well developed characters made for a great read.
Double Cross is poignant, and political. The language mirrors the industry of politics being sometimes convoluted and flowery. The plot tracked. Not my usual cup of tea but for those who enjoy a pointed political thriller, Double Cross is for you.
