I was recommended this author in one of my FB groups that said if you liked a particular author, then this author I would enjoy.Well,they lied! I found this book boring as hell, and I swear it was a struggle to finish it.

I love Alexa's mafia men, and Ilya was no exception! The stalker-y, masked man definitely gave this book a slightly spooky vibe that was perfect for this time of year! I really loved how Ilya worked to win Isabella's affections. Of course, I love an mmc with the whole "Who did this to you?" persona, and Ilya had this in spades! He really was a man on a mission, determined to claim his woman.
"I'll never apologize for fighting for what's mine. But you're more than a polished, stagnant trophy, little one. You're the ultimate prize, and I need to earn the right to belong to you. I will earn that, Izzy."
He was just ridiculously swoon worthy! And Isabella was an absolute force to be reckoned with. This girl was ridiculously brave, all the while hiding who she really was behind a mask of submission. The way this girl put up with everything dealt to her simply to protect her brother was amazing. I loved it when she realized that Ilya was in her corner.
"What I am, Izzy, is a man consumed by the thought of you. I will raze this city to the ground to have you, destroy any threat to your freedom."
These two were absolute mafia perfection! Definitely recommend this read!

This is actually the first book a read from there series. While I really enjoyed this book but I was disappointed when I found out close to the end of the book that there is a prequel. I was trying to figure out why was there like a gap missing when they first meet or I thought the author was going to write flash backs throughout the book but I was wrong. So I suggested you read “Broken Promises” first.
Oh Ilya omg he is perfect, patient and caring with Izzy. He is like the ultimate book boyfriend/husband🤤 He is not used to wooing women and when he wants/do something he is willing. Ilya learned what Izzy’s likes and dislikes💋
The way he sneaks around is mind blowing how he has never been caught leaving and entering any homes/area.
While there was a bit repetitive dialogue with Izzy which was quite annoying lol but I do feel for her. She was doing everything to keep herself and her brother safe. She strong FMC I probably couldn’t put up with most of the abuse she been through.
I love Mafia books but this one was a little different. The Don was dumb like the other characters in this book were. Like how was the house not heavily guarded when all these incidents were happening. When Izzy snuck out so many time chasing her phantom🤔 but in the end they all got what they had coming👏🏽 except for one😢
While it is not the ending she expected but Ilya and Izzy got their HEA😍
I really wanted a book for Alonzo. His character is really sweet throughout this book.

Unfortunately I found this a very hard read. The first third of the book was full of repetitive monologues, giving us nothing new. We very quickly learnt the our h was having an arranged marriage to protect herself and her brother, the new don and his sister, especially, were cruel and she had a stalker. Unfortunately for almost 40% that was all. And it was repeated relentlessly. I was so close to giving up at this point.
I’ve read Alexa before and the previous books in this series. This reminds me of the first book in the writing style and extremely slow start. The following books were much better but this seems to have been a step back.
Compounded with some spelling mishaps, not a book I’d read again. Sorry. I think my Vaslov Bratva journey ends here.

Wow that was dreary, with loads of mistakes, and NOT A PROPER ENDING!
I don’t know why I keep reading this series. Parts of the other books were enjoyable but this one has no relief from the dreariness. There’s no happy ever after either as it ends really abruptly on a horrific note. There’s loads of mistakes. Ilya is supposed to be seriously dyslexic and can’t read yet at times he manages it perfectly fine, he supposed to be one of Dimi’s top men but can just leave him in the lurch for months on end while he stalks Izzy. 😂😂😂
The book starts a year after Isabella and Dimi have a one night stand after she pursued him in his nightclub. I wish this had been written about as I felt like I was missing loads of the story. Isabella’s life changed drastically after her father who is the don and her mother are murdered while she’s away at college. The new don is insisting that Izzy marry his son and they won’t kill her younger brother. Charming. This is where it lost me as the new don and his evil sister move into the old don’s house. Why? That’s just not how it would happen. The house would have been left to Izzy and her brother. Anyway moving on, after Ilya and Izzy’s amazing one night stand he can’t get her out of his head, but she’s disappeared and he can’t find her. When he sees her engagement notice in the paper, (Again, how does he read it?) he tracks her down and starts stalking her. Somehow he manages to avoid all the security men and never be seen sneaking into her bedroom. 😂 Not only that but he had to ask Dimi’s tech guys to switch off the cameras, AND THEY DON’T TELL DIMI THEIR PAKHAN WHAT HE’S DOING! They would have to inform Dimi that Ilya is breaking into a mafia don’s house EVERY NIGHT! I really love how the dons security guys never notice that the cameras malfunction every single night at the same time every night!!! 😂😂😡😂 At first Ilya is just going to kidnap Izzy and do what? When he realises that she’s a prisoner he vows to help her. This is another issue for me as Ilya has numerous opportunities to take Izzy and her brother away but he doesn’t! Instead he sneaks in to see her constantly in her bedroom or while she’s out with her fiancé, and yet no one notices???? OH COME ON! 😡😡😡😡 While he’s doing that he’s also following her brother to make sure he isn’t killed as it’s quite obvious that they’re trying to kill him.
After all the dreariness of the whole book I was hoping for a happy ending BUT THERE ISN’T ONE! Ilya doesn’t save her at all, they drive off after a brutal ending. In the middle of the night when I had really bad insomnia this book wasn’t a good idea. As it’s so badly written in places that it’s annoying and it didn’t help switch my brain off at all.

“Impenitent Claim” is the fourth instalment in the “The Vlasov Bratva Series.” This is the story of Ilya (aka Spectra, The Phantom & Elijah) and Isabella (aka Izzy). He is part of of the Russian Bratva, in the Midwest Underworld, and she is a Mafia Princess. I absolutely loved Ilya and Izzy’s story - the chemistry between these two sizzle. This is such a beautiful love story that is so intense - a love that will last forever, in both good and bad times!

This book had me hooked from the start! Being a Mafia Romance story, it is dark in places, violent at times, passionate in places, full of secrets, loyalties tested and let’s not forget the heat between Ilya and Izzy. The chemistry between these two is off the page! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Part of The Vlasov Bratva hang on don’t blink and you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified possessive, oh so gorgeous, brooding all three makings of a story consisting with the three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, darkness, secrets revealed, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love somewhere along the way! Isabella isn’t your typical mafia princess. She wants no part of the world that took her parents. She has one family member left that she loves her brother so she will act the part, pretend to be the mafia princess everyone expects her to be but in reality, she is bidding on her time and although, she is engaged to another for her it is a chess games. Illya sexy as all get out protector not sure why she is engaged to another when she belongs with him so he delegated himself as her protector also claimed her for himself by any means necessary and taking anyone who gets in his way, he is a stalking, making sure she was okay, anyone hurt her he made sure to take care of it, he isn’t a nice man, the total opposite, dangerous, ruthless, and deadly when needed. But when she finds out what will she do, she learns the man know her well he knows her likes her dislikes, he is her protector, will want to be with him despite his world, and will they find happiness along the way?

Finally another amazing book in the Vlasov Bratva series! I have anticipated the story of the mysterious Ilya and his Isabella and it didn’t disappoint!
This man….hardened by the brutality he suffered in his past but his heart was so soft for her. His love and devotion for her was heart melting! He would simply stop breathing if that would ensure Isabella would be safe! They shared a night of passion a year ago and then she vanished.
Her life took an unpleasant turn ever since her parents tragically died a year ago. As the daughter of the late Don, she was offered as future bride to the young son of the new Don. She had to accept in order to make sure her youngest brother would stay alive. Her life became a nightmare, living as a prisoner in her parents house…..until the ghost found her…..and he would set her free and claim her for himself!
This story gave me all the feels! He stalked her, left her gifts, protected her and slained all the evils in her life! Hot, passionate and thrilling dark romance with them finding their HEA!
A highly recommended book for those who love a hardened villain, who would burn the world down for their leading lady!!!

I never cease to be amazed at the intricacies in this author’s books. The attention to detail is amazing. This story is part of the continuing Vlasov Bratva series and has one of my favorite characters, Ilya, as the main focus.
A year ago, Ilya was enamored of a mystery woman that frequented his club in Chicago. After one night of bliss, she disappears without a trace and Ilya becomes a man on a mission.
A year ago, Isabella, or Izzy, made a decision to lose her innocence on her own terms. As a mafia princess, she knows her future will be determined by her parents, but she can control this. Choosing the broody man in a club she found, she allows herself a brief moment of happiness. Then she gets a call that will change the course of her life….
Now Ilya is on the East Coast, having finally located his mystery woman. And he will make her his, no matter the cost.
Oh, the growly Ilya ticked all of my boxes. Lucky for him, Izzy is a strong woman who isn’t afraid of standing up to him. But she also has a huge heart that believes that family comes first…Her inner turmoil and determination were such a delight to read.

Alexa you have yet again written an amazing romance read!!! And with that being said this one just grips you with the most stunning mafia men ever, and can I get a swoon for the sexy stalker-y masked man plus the spooky vibes were just over the moon amazing. Also, I love how Ilya is working so damn hard to earn back Isabella's affection! He is one man on a damn mission throughout this whole read and I loved it. Plus Isabella is a freaking force to be reckoned with (super brave moment)… also all this is happening why she is also trying to hide behind a mask of submission. And while also dealing with some pretty tough/shitty cards dealt to her by the means of trying to protect her brother! Overall, amazing read and very great if you enjoy mafia stories.

And with that being said this one just grips you with the most stunning mafia men ever, and can I get a swoon for the sexy stalker-y masked man plus the spooky vibes were just over the moon amazing. Also, I love how Ilya is working so damn hard to earn back Isabella's affection! He is one man on a damn mission throughout this whole read and I loved it. Plus Isabella is a freaking force to be reckoned with (super brave moment)… also all this is happening why she is also trying to hide behind a mask of submission. And while also dealing with some pretty tough/shitty cards dealt to her by the means of trying to protect her brother! Overall, amazing read and very great if you enjoy mafia stories.

Impenitent Claim by Alexa Michaels is the fourth book in The Vlasov Bratva series. This was a different setting than the other three books. Instead of the story happening around the Vlasov Bratva in Chicago, this story takes place where the FMC’s Mafia family is. Although I did miss the other characters in this book, I really liked this different atmosphere. I truly enjoyed the plotline in this book. The stalker and forbidden vibes of this romance was so good.
Isabella was a compassionate, loyal, and sweet FMC. She was forced into a marriage to ensure her brother’s safety. I loved her character and totally understood her fierce protectiveness of her family. Ilya was obsessive, protective, and sweet with Isabella. They had such great chemistry. Ilya had me swooning. I mean a man who understands a woman’s love for reading and gifts her special editions. Sign me up! Isabella is a book girlie at heart and I totally related to her. I fell in love with Ilya with how he treated Isabella. I loved how Ilya never gave up of Isabella and always put her first. This was a fun and exciting read and I definitely recommend.

I did NOT see this one coming. At one point, I was actually sort of angry at the way it was going because it didn't "feel right" to me. And I had to step back, because that simply meant that I was used to things a certain way and I needed to open myself up to this new story line.
Shadowy stalkers on top of mafia princesses who have to follow strict guidelines (diets, silent-and-obedient, meek and mild behaviors only), on top of betrayals and violence. This whole story made me open my eyes to see that a lot of what I thought I knew a mafia story could be was actually a very, very SHORT story type of trope.
That does not mean I didn't inhale this book from start to finish in a day, because let's face it. When you become immersed in something so deeply? It's easy as pie to dive into. This is the story of Isabella and Ilya, and it is chock full of ups and downs, swerves and roundabouts and each time a jack-knife comes along to give you whiplash, you're still begging for more.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I loved it! It’s a stand alone story, though it did seem to have some overarching storyline aspects from previous books, which I am going to read next but are not necessary to have read prior to this one.
I really enjoyed this story, it wasn’t the darkest mafia trope story I’ve read but it was just as engaging and had me hooked from the start. The storyline and the characters were well written and the chemistry between the characters was perfect. Ilya was the perfect dangerous, powerful monster (as Isabella called him at times) who was so soft and caring towards Izzy and would raze the city around her to free her from her captors. Isabelle was a strong, independent and fierce female lead character, who would do anything, including entering a forced marriage, to protect the ones she loved.
The story gripped me from the start and I couldn’t stop reading to find out how the story developed and how it ended. I was not disappointed!.

This was an interesting story, we get deep into the minds of the two main characters. Some readers felt parts were a little drawn out or repetitive, but I think those parts actually made me feel like I was in the book, in the character’s mind. I loved feeling their emotions and building that connection. I think Ilya might possibly be my favourite MMC in this series so far, though I have loved each book more and more as I’ve read them! But there were so many squee worthy moments, the perfectly curated gifts he left the FMC — it was just so beautiful seeing how deeply he cared for her, you felt sure he would do anything in the world for her and I just think that is so beautiful. I love too that she’s got a good personality and I’m happy that she gets a better life than what she had before. There’s plenty of action in the book, and fantastic spicy scenes too. I also read the bonus scenes and omg, looveee. Alexa’s done it again, and I can’t wait to read the next book, Kolya’s story!

This is Isabella and Ilya's story and I loved it. It is a dark mafia/Vlasov Bratva story.
Isabella is the daughter of a former mafia boss who was killed with his wife. It left Isabella and her brother orphaned. They are taken by the next in command and Isabella finds her life to be hell. She is informed that she must marry the new mafia boss's son, who is much younger than her, to protect her brother. If she refuses, her brother's life will be at risk. The aunt (new boss's sister) is a nasty piece of work and makes Isabella's life extremely difficult.
Ilya is one of the Vlasov Bratva. He met Isabella when she was in his club and has been hunting for her ever since. Isabella had chosen him to be her first! He finds her and stalks her. He is a creature of the dark.
This is an interesting story with a twist.

So brilliant! I loved it. Ilya and Isabella were fabulous.
After a one night stand with unknown to her Mafia boss Ilya, Isabella flees, but he's had her once, now needs to find her and claim her.
Ilya is dominant and a total alpha that wants what he wants ava that's all there is to it. But he is at a loss for why she is gone. But Isabella had big family problems and a tragic loss to deal with but knows our rather feels he is coming for her.
This plot is the best. Fast paced and exciting, so much so I couldn't read fast enough to keep up. Their chemistry was just amazing and this book had me engrossed from start to finish. I want more.
Extremely well done I loved the whole experience and can't wait for the next. Such a brilliant book!! Absolutely!

Received the ARC! Another book to add to my shelf. This book was written so well. Everyone in this book got exactly what they deserved. Well other than 3 of them. Go didn’t deserve what happened to him and poor Alonzo. My heart broke at what happened to him! Izzy and Ilya make the cutest couple. The fact that this man stalked her! Like he looked and searched for her until he finally found her. And the fact that he took apart and destroyed everything and everyone but also got to know her. She found that her phantom cared for her and knew her likes and dislikes. This man was always there to protect her. Anytime someone hurt her he was there to rewrite that wrong. This book definitely had spooky vibes which I loved. Alexa has definitely done it again with an amazing book.

Her one past rebellion at making a choice of her own was Ilya, who managed to track her down and was obsessed with her. This is a dark romance as Ilya has no idea why Isabella is engaged to another, but he has sworn to be her protector and claim her as his own, letting no one get in his way. The beginning of the story was a little slow on build up. But once Isabella tells Ilya her secrets, the family drama and betrayal is revealed as she is caught in the middle of their quest for power.

Is there a series and I missed the earlier books that might explain what is going on? The book blurb said, "Week after week, she haunted my club. The rusalka was on the prowl, and she had one thing on her mind—me. I fell into her trap, seduced by her charm. Once she took what she wanted, she fled." Huh. When did this happen? I'm bored at page 87. So far all that happens is that 'he' is silently stalking her as he plots how to kidnap her. Plus her witch of an aunt is torturing her. Pages of internal monologue which go on and on; a tedious, slow start; never really gets started. I can't like a story where I skim entire chapters just to see if anything happens. At 47%, I gave up. DNF.

I could not get enough of Ilya and Isabella. Used as a pawn after her parents death Isabella would do whatever she could to save her and her brothers life including marrying the new dons son. That is until the ghost of her pass showed up in the shadows of her life. I can’t not wait to read next next book, I am totally invested in the Midwest Bratva

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC of this book and was pretty happy with it. I have read previous books by Alexa and, while this one wasn’t my favourite, it was still really enjoyable. It had a slow start and I’m not sure I like how it ended, but all in all a good easy read. If you like darker mafia romance, you will love this one. I look forward to continuing this series.

Impenitent Claim is another great addition to the Vlasov Bratva. Iyla is the perfect masked man/stalker but also has a sweet side for Isabella. I really enjoyed this story and the characters together. This is a dark mafia romance so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Alexa's books always keep me entertained and wanting more of these men.
