Ozark Puzzlement

Rate this book
Sheriff Doug Hanson is beginning to wonder if normally peaceful Devil’s County is cursed.

First, he discovers a dead woman in a car floating three feet off the ground. Ex-Marine, Deputy Teresa ‘TJ’ Jenkins is pursued wanting friendship with benefits from a teenage girl who swears a student is out to blow them to kingdom come. TJ finds herself hopelessly attracted to Ms. Michaels whose husband hasn’t returned from war. The ex-wrestling star Deputy Thomas Williams struggles with understanding how a car could have a major collision with a tree after making a sharp curve when the driver has a bullet in his brain. Then there’s the pile of papers that somehow link a local couple to Texans out to create mayhem.

Can it all make sense before the devil comes to call? Welcome to Crosscreek, Missouri in the Ozarks.

Hi, I’m Alex Thompson and I’ve written fiction since the 6th grade. I am published in a poetry anthology titled My Tree Called Life (2009) and have a recent novel Kal & Julie (2022). I hold a B.S., More.S. and Piled Higher & Deeper (Ok, B.S., M.S., Ph.D.) in mathematics from the University of Missouri in Kansas City and used those to carve out a life career.
