Y’all see that? That’s growth. Natisha did the impossible. She made me actually like Wise and Ion know how I feel about that. The Story of Wise delves into his past and we get to see how Wise got into the drug game. I’m not gon’ go into great detail about Wise’s past. You can read the book for that. Just know, a young Wise was a whole azz mess. He and his community peen was for those Diamond Cove streets and he had all the young and dumb girlies lined up to get a sample. But, I have to say, I was really impressed with the growth of his character. Alana doin’ him dirty seemed to flip a switch in Wise and introduced us to a completely different man.

It’s been a year and a half since Mario’s death and Natalie is still struggling. She’s just existing day by day and drowning in her grief. Natalie copes by drinkin’ way too much and is on the precipice of becoming an alcoholic. But, she gets the shoulder she needs to lean on and much more from a surprising source. Just as Natalie is finally breaking free of the hold grief had on her and finding a semblance of happiness, a trip back home to Chicago threatens all of the progress she’s made.

One thing Simone gon’ do is drop an IKYFL bomb. We thought all her skeletons came tumblin’ out in Justice’s book but sis said, “and another thing” and proceeded to blow all our minds. “All these new siblings and secret sneaky links. Shyt is wild. If Natalie becomes your stepmother, that shyt will be funny as hell.” He laughed, and all Justice could do was shake his head. He had a ghetto ass family.' Chiiiiiiiile…… It’s safe to say, no one likes Simone and rightfully so. She’s a triflin’ piss poor azz parent and, an immature 40 year old who still doesn’t know how to make the right choices. But, Simone deserves to tell her story too. You can’t give us a story on Wise and Chicago and not give Simone her time to shine as well. I just want to see Simone get her shyt together cause, I’m sick of her. We all are.

If you’ve been reading this series since book one, I think I speak for everyone when I say no one liked Wise. I wouldn’t say he was horrible but, he damn sure wasn’t likeable either. How he treated Lauren will always be the number one reason I couldn’t stand him. But, Wise gave us a completely different perspective of him in this book. It took a good minute but, he finally grew up and really redeemed himself and I love that for him. I’m so happy I decided to read The Story of Wise because, I would’ve truly missed out on this book. Now, I’m actually excited for Chicago and Winter’s stories.

Why Did I Even Bother!?

If this had been my first introduction to Wise I might have really liked him. However, knowing how triflin he was in the other books in this series and realizing that he was just that way because he could be- like no childhood trauma, no terrible upbringing, no loss of siblings or parents, none of that- made it hard to fully get behind the idea of liking him regardless of the grown man BDE he oozed. Natalie was also a drunken mess for most of the book with no real character development besides her very rushed psuedo new beginning ending. Then the random chapters thrown in about past characters felt disjointed. BUT... What really frustrated me to no end with this book was the author mis-used names of her characters so often that I had to reread over and over to figure out who she meant or to insert the correct name myself for better comprehension. I am not an editor and when I download a published book it is with the expectation that it has already been edited. There is NO way that this book was proof-read by anyone before it was published which took away from my reading pleasure.

While this story tied into the series well, things were missing for me. Like while I get everybody gets to redeem themselves I don’t feel like we saw that here. Like Wise just became the fine older freaky man to me. His explanation for tryna rape that girl fell short and we never got an in depth explanation as to why he felt like she was supposed to owe him forever. That whole everyone was Prey don’t stand, because your son already came to you and said leave it alone AND YOU STILL PROCEEDED TO THAT GIRL HOUSE. So sorry the author needed to tie that one part together a little better for me to understand his sentiment. Next while I get he saw something traumatic why did he go on to be the trauma in multiple stories lmao like Mr. You was a demon to everyone but your wife and the new girl. Overall this one just felt shallow and like a filler episode. I don’t feel anymore connected to him than I did when he was introduced. While I think the overall series was good I felt like Natasha could’ve gone deeper with this story.

Thee most bizarre family

Revelation, after revelation, after revelation. If Simone were a real person I'd hate her and feel sorry for her at the same time. She can't help how crazy she is, but has to suffer the consequences for doing crazy shit. But her children have had to suffer too.
I'm glad I can immediately go to the next book to see how all this mess sorts out.

never ending cliffhangers in this series

Slow to start, got background on how it basically started between Wise, his brother Chicago and Simone. Needed more depth from Chicago and Simone’s character with the way they really were tied together. Like how did Simone even sleep with Chicago at 15? Basically how Chicago wanted to be his big brother. Even Natalie’s character. Then the cliffhanger from this book written in August 2024 to maybe have a follow up in late 2024 or early 2025 from their teenager kids is wild with no mention of finishing Wise’s story because you didn’t even have intention to really write his book. We didn’t need a new book babe in the series if you were going to half ass do it.

I KNEW IT!!!!!

There was just something about Wise that wouldn't let me give up on him or throw him away as the villain. He is exactly who I thought he was and I am so glad he was able to tell his story and shine light on all that he is. I love him the most. I'm glad he's elevating, growing and striving for better.
I absolutely love this family and I'm glad we'll he getting more.

This family really is the most soap opera mess ever and I haven’t been disappointed even a little bit. Still don’t necessarily like Wise but loved the backstories and how the drama keeps unfolding.

I didn’t expect to like Wise as much as I did. Normally when a character is unlikable and seemingly immoral, I don’t care for a redemption arc but Wise’s book is probably my favorite so far out of this series. I like him and Natalie a lot, but their story felt incomplete, I hope to see more of them in the other books so they get a fully developed storyline. I want them both to get a HEA

The Saga continues, and the author has me hooked for sure. Wise, someone who wasn't the most liked character has actually grown on me. Getting his story definitely put a lot of things in perspective as to how he became who he is today. He's been through some things over the years, and it was up to him to want to change. And yes, Karma is a....which he has and is experiencing later on in his life. Will he finally settle down for good. And please Simone, no more surprises. Lol

I underestimated how much I was going to love daddy Wise but honey I do and I might as well fall in line with the rest of the women because that man was something to be desired… I love that Natalie found love in the most peculiar way because that bottle was holding my girl hostage… That damn Simone got more damn babies left behind than the law should allow… I’m loving this series and can’t wait for more

My author bestie in my head, never misses! I’ve been reading her books for a long while now, her books keep getting better and pengame getting slicker! Anyways, I wouldn’t say I “like” Wise .. I do so that this gave me some insight on him. He alright considering what he been through. But he needed to grow up and stop sowing these seeds, my gosh.

A let down

I love this author but this book was predictable and not her normal amazing reads. Wise old ass sexing the girl who’s younger than his son and hangs with his daughters is ridiculous. Natalie couldn’t find love with someone without a mess of kids or the reputation of satan. This one was off.

Well, I’m shocked to say- but this was my favorite of the series. I went into reading this, fully expecting to continue my dislike of Wise. And somehow he won me over after we got some clarity about his behavior around Lauren. His honest with Natalie was a selling point.

I actually liked him for Natalie, although wish she was older.

My criticisms of the series were present in this one as well. Too many new plots introduced that don’t go anywhere. What was the purpose of Simone’s second secret? Why throw in the Prime/ Simone angle? What happened with Shane/ Courtney? Just too much. And the endings are always odd. And nothing about the MMC still sleeping with other people while “falling for” the FMC. Wise stayed sexing someone else.

Ughughugh! I hate that I love the drama in these stories so much! I can’t even fully enjoy it because the writing is below average. How she gonna end the story with “the end”??? WTF?! Somebody get her an editor and really develop these characters and plot lines. The core is solid, but the execution is lacking. Tyler Perry call her up and make these books a show! Love the characters and as much as I hate to admit it, I’ll be reading the next ones too.

Wise did some hoeish ass fucked up shit. All this keeping it in the family fucking on the same women, having the same baby mama is trashy as hell. And Wise is a fucking predator. His old ass fucked around and got Morgan pregnant in Justice book when he already in his forties. Just sickening. And how do we skip over the fact that Wise tried to rape Lauren but now all him and his sons are ok with it and he lied to Natalie telling her he wasn't going to rape Lauren even though he was. What kind of sick fucking shit is this?? I keep seeing reviews talking about how much this mf had change. Wise may of been ok about his kids but he was still a pedophilic violent mf. That shit didn't change. I don't respect no mf who prey on young females and willing to put they hands on them. If I was Justice and i really loved Lauren it would of been on and popping every time I seen Wise grooming violent ass. Then to act like he change so much. A mf apology can't NEVER be enough for all the shit wise put Lauren through, Morgan thru, and every other female his pedophilic ass did dirty. I have no respect for anyone who gave this mf a pass in and out this book.

Wise reveal

This book answers questions about Wise. It was obvious when Natalie asked if he wanted a drink that they were going to hook up. However, Natalie’s pity parties and shutting down were beyond annoying. Trauma causes so much damage and Natalie undeniably suffered extreme trauma and great losses. Many people turn to substance to dull their pain as did Natalie. However there should have been more of intervention than a hope that pregnancy will stop an alcoholic from drinking. I have no empathy for Simone or Eva. Eva definitely needs to grow the heck up and stop living in the past. I expected so much more than flaunting dollars. Leaving an enemy behind is not wise.

He Redeemed Himself!!!

Sometime it takes karma to take action before you realize you been moving and living foul! That saying what’s happen in the past is the past, however, sometimes what happened in the past could come full circle and bit you in the butt🫣! All actions don’t call for a reaction, but your action can determine the outcome! Let’s Chat!!!

Well we all know I didn’t care too much for Wise at all! He was mean, rude, arrogant and felt his 💩 didn’t stink 🫣🤣. However, I must say he did redeem himself with me! Learning how it all started and the things that harden his heart, allowed me to view Wise with a different set of eyes. One thing I can’t say was he was a bad father once he grew up! He took care and was there for his children 😉! Then when he found his sons - the triplets Loyal, Truce & Justice he did what he could to try and make up for all the years missed! Now we all know that he was that 🥷🏽and didn’t allow anyone to play in his face. After finding out that only one of the triplets was his son (hot mess here) ya boy was hurt, but how he handled it was growth for him. Regardless of the outcome, they were still family! After losing his first love, ya boy was wild, but as time went on, he decided to change his way and settle down with Alana! Let me tell you, that I didn’t think he would change nor settle down but he fooled me 🫣! Oh but when karma hits things start to change for him! Never did he expect what Alana did to happen and listen I just knew he was about to be worst than he was before. Oh it’s the 5k for me he was willing to pay for Alana to get them hands put on her 🤣! I hollered 🤣! Well maybe he would’ve been if he didn’t connect with Natalie! Now look, I wasn’t expecting this connection but hey it worked 🥹😉. Then the past resurfaced! Listen I was NOT ready for that - Kadafi!

No one deserves to be threatened in their own home! No one should have to fight for their in their own home, but my girl Natalie did! Not only did she have to fight for her life, she lost the love of her life due to a home invasion 😭! Trauma is presented in different forms and handled differently. Natalie way of dealing with hers was moving to Diamond Cove close to her cousin Ryan and drinking! Though she knew drinking wasn’t the way, it worked for. My girl was drinking - drinking 🤣! With the passing of time my girl decided to trying dating. Key word was try 🫣! The lames she went on date was a waste of time in my opinion! Now after a failed date and chilling so runs into Wise at a lounge! What I didn’t think would happen due the age gap happen and they way my girl initiated it - yassss Queen 🤏🏾🥰! The way that she and Wise connected and vibe was it for me. Don’t agree with the big age gap but who am I to judge lol, been there and done that 🫣! What had my mouth open and on the ground was when she found out who her cousin Courtney baby daddy was 😳! I wasn’t ready for that, even though I had this feeling! My girl handled that right by cutting all ties and blocking her! Courtney response and admitting what she knew left me speechless! It only to you 3 days to forgive the unforgivable action😡! However, the way Wise was willing to handle it for Natalie was everything! Then after all said and done, Natalie drops the unexpected new to Wise! The way I’m rooting for them is crazy!

Once again Simone is with the shenanigans 🙄! Like another son that you gave away again! Like girl you need not to be a mother to anyone or anything! Like don’t get me wrong, it takes two to make a baby and no one wants to be a single parent, but girl you need not to be at all! The victim roller she playing is getting old. Accountability is what she needs to do instead of worrying about Wise and his relationship with the triplets. He took accountability for his part but she hasn’t.

So with all that being said, my guy Wise has redeemed himself and I no longer have a strong dislike for him! He actually has changed for the better and doesn’t wish or want to go back to the old him! Love that for him! Now let’s see what this new son that has surfaced has to say! Need to know his story!

I Didn’t Want This Story to End

I REALLY enjoyed this book. This was a nice bounce back from Loyal’s book, which I did not like that much at all. I liked that we got to know Wise before he became the man that he is today. And unlike the triplets’ book, Wise gave very much BDE. He was daddy for sure! I knew he was changing for the better when he didn’t try to go after Alana for leaving him. I was like, “See, baby steps.”

His relationship with Natalie was very cute and I very much enjoyed their interactions, even though she hated hearing the truth about her drinking problem. She’s been through a lot, so hopefully in the next book, we hear about her getting some counseling.

Also, Truce just refuses to give Simone any grace and I do not like that about his character. Simone has made a lot of dumb decisions, like going back to her abusive ex, but this is a reality for a lot of women. Even when she explained what Wise did to Prime, though she doesn’t know all the facts, Truce still was determined to be against her. He’s just determined to see his mom for her worst, no matter what she says or does.

My only real critique of this book is how the rest of the books in this series have all been told in first person but this is told in third person. Seeing every other sentence start with “Wise” or “Natalie” was a bit annoying. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and didn’t want it to end

I’m curious to see how this thing with Khadafi goes. Very good book, probably my favorite in the series so far.

Wise and Natalie😍🥵🤞🏾❤️

Wise, Wise, Wise, what can I say? Good Lordy Be, he was slanggin Natalie the D left and right. Chile, now I officially know where his nephews and Justice got it from (wipes forehead). On the real (and certainly off Wise’s penis slinging), once again this is another book filled with drama, babies, deaths and so much spice that have me rethinking my life choices as far as doing the hibbity dibbity. Wise was the true definition of get it how you live. In all glory, I’m super excited that Natalie decided to open up and move on gracefully with Wise. Natalie deserves to be happy after the tragedy that she endured. I guess she had to fine an older man to put it down in order for her to be Stella and get her groove back.

As far as her cousin Courtney goes, that was some foul stuff to be dealing with someone who took your cousins boyfriend’s life and could have taken hers in the process. As always, it’s good to see the triplets make an appearance and I’m glad that they are still going strong and they are happy. Now their mother Simone, that heffa just keeps on coming with the bull and all these Aries that’s she doesn’t keep. Simone needs to seek professional help, because she keeps coming in and telling all her secrets that’s obviously doing more damage to her character than it is helping her. I guess she will get it together hopefully because she has Serenity to think about. I pray that she doesn’t give her up to the highest bidder.

Who would have thought Wise would get his life in order?! Mannnn, Alana shocked the heck out of me! I really thought she would have done right by Wise! She talked about how he acted before they got married. Well why did you get married sis?! The one time he decided to do right, she cut up bad and all for an ex smh! Two things I wasn't expecting. 1. Kadafi being Prime and Simone's son; and 2 him knowing Wise killed his father! Simone just wasn't it for me. At first, I thought I would want to hear her story but nah I'm good on her. Just when I thought she was gonna get her life right and do better by Serenity, she took Monte stupid tail back! I don't blame Nathalie for not dealing with Courtney! Imagine saving cousin's bf life on the strength that they were family and she sided with that fool, pregnant or not! A major slap in the face and it cost her her unborn's life! Silly girl! Old ass Wise still got it loool! Bagging the baddies and knocking them up is his specialty, but something tells me all that mouth about what he would and wouldn't do again, Nathalie gone throw all that out the door! The couples are growing and glowing! They are all getting along well and I love that for them even after the continuous obstacles thrown their way! Great read
