Company Business
Book seventeen will take the reader on a rollercoaster of a ride as Jerry and crew travel from Pennsylvania to The Villages, Florida, with plenty of dog antics, and ghostly spirits along the way.

While April is intent on helping every spirit who asks, Jerry knows all too well the toll the endless stream of requests can take.

Determined to save her from herself, Jerry puts his foot down, a move that leaves him so vulnerable, not even Fred, with every earthly resource at his disposal, can help.

While Jerry is struggling to claw his way out of the darkness, Max faces her own dilemma when the spirits come together and warn her not to interfere.

Will Jerry discover the reason for the void he finds himself in before it’s too late? Or is he destined to live a lonely life forever?

Will Max ignore the ghostly warning to help her soon-to-be dad?

Will April be able to draw a line between life and death?

April can hear spirits but not see them yet Jerry gets his comeuppance from the spirit world when he asks to be left alone. Jerry makes a believer out of a cynic that's being haunted. Great story. Love this series.

Awesome book series

This isn't a review of this book per se. It's about the series:
Please do yourself a favor and don't read this book until you have finished all 16 books before this one. This series is delightful, though the content may not always be easy, especially in earlier books. These are quick reads, too quick, though it means we don't have to wait long for follow-up installments.
What I really enjoy is the fact that there is none of that "do I, don't I, I can't be with him/her, I shouldn't be doing this or that" kind of dialogs that take up 80% of a book surrounded by 20% of action. It's refreshing to read this series that is written like you are following a friend and his "spirit" dog as he talks to other spirits without hearing that dialog of self doubt that goes in circles in our minds. This series is delightful and laugh-out-loud funny.
In this installment, McNeal learns what you say might be taken completely literally, so watch what you are asking for. Max is starting to help spirits by herself while April, who received a gift of her own in the previous book, is meeting Jerry's family.
A special thank you to Sherry A. Burton's mom for insisting that the dog stay in the series. Where would we be without Gunter?

Another fantastic read.
Jerry has a business trip to go on, which is only a couple of hours away from where his parents live.
Although they have certainly been told about April, Max and Houdini, there has been no chance to meet them yet, so after talking it over with April, he suggests they all go and stay at his parents' new home in The Villages.
It's a perfect setting for relaxing, and his parents fall in love with April and are even calling Max their granddaughter, even though Jerry tells them that he and April are only engaged, no wedding date has been planned. That is of 'no never mind' to them, they adore their son's new family.
After a day or so, Jerry needs to move on to see to his pending spirits problem, and leaves the girls and Houdini with his parents.
He finds that human bones and body parts are the problem, which is causing the spirit to remain, where he is obviously not wanted, but you'll have to read the rest for yourselves to find out how Jerry solves the conundrum.

It's a wonderful book.

Be careful what you wish for. Jerry finds out how alone he'd be without his "gift". April is learning to deal with spirits, and Max is training Houdini. They're all learning what it's like to be a family unit. The next thing they'll be doing is traveling to Florida to meet Jerry's parents. The big question is will they accept April and Max, since they both communicate with the spirits? I enjoyed this latest episode and look forward to the next book. And I still love Gunter!

Another great read.
These books are hard to put down. Fortunately they are easy to read in a short period of time. Love the characters, the plots and the various settings. Lots of laughter, some tragedy, bits of heartache, and criminals getting out away for their crimes. Doesn't hurt a bit that some of the characters are no longer alive, but are important parts of the stories. Highly recommend!

Spirits know

Granny and Bunny went too far imo. Max was in a tough spot because of their actions. April learns more about her skill and the family finally meets Jerry’s parents. Houdini shows more of his skills and Gunter maybe is going to be a daddy again. The ending is sweet and the story was a quick and easy read with colorful characters and no real danger to the favorite characters.

Great series!

I've read every book in this series and they just keep getting better and better! Sherry Burton has become one of my favorite authors! Its hard not to get invested in her characters because she makes them come to life in such a way that you care about them. I can't wait for the next book to come out to see what happens next. If you love dogs and paranormal activity, I recommend you read this series!

Always entertaining.

Jerry and Gunther are on the road again along with April and Max. Still in Pennsylvania Jerry gets a new job in Florida. So off they go. April and Max will me stunt their in-laws for the first time. While they're with the in-laws Jerry goes to his new assignment to help a dog trainer who is definitely a skeptic. Lots of twists and fun. Great job. Thank you. Looking forward to Book 18 have to see if Gunther strikes again.

Jerry, Gunter, April, Max and Houdini are called to go to work for the agency.

April now has the relationship that Jerry and her daughter have. The ability to talk to spirits. But as she is new at this they have a tendency to over whelm her. jerry throws a fit and tells the spirits that he wants them to leave his family alone. He is not happy when they take him at his word. He is about to learn to be careful what you ask for.

great as always

Great read! I laughed, I cried for poor Jerry when he was being shown the error of his ways and I got all warm and fuzzy in the spots that evoked those feelings. I always enjoy the stories about this family, the ghosts who help them (especially Grandma) and the situations they are required to handle. Keep up the good work, Ms. Burton! Looking forward to Book #18.

Hey

I only wish you were able to write faster. I know silly but do love your books rap the ones with Jerry and Gunter talk about a winning pair. But really thank you for such good work and the ability to spend my time, even such a short amount of time, in a world of good people doing good. God has blessed you and I am so glad I get to go to the worlds you create.

Company Business #17

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book, like every other book in the Jerry McNeal series book 17 was fast paced, fantastic writing on Sherry's part, funny and non funny scenes, and just over all the best paranormal story with a ghost dog in it you'll ever read!

I absolutely love this series! It's entertaining, hilarious, full of drama, and intriguing. And, there might be more ghost puppies on the way! Woohoo! I can't wait to see where the series goes from here!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Fast Paced!

Another wonderful, fast paced, short but sweet, Jerry McNeal episode! Sherry A. Burton always leaves us wanting for more. This episode especially leaves us wondering if Jerry and April will ever get married, what will happen with his company business, and will April and Max join in? But as usual we will all have to wait. (I hate waiting.)

Great reading

This is not my normal reading genres. But I love the humor she writes into her stories! She brings the characters to life. Hard to put down reading it from cover to cover in one go. The books just aren't long enough, having a hard time waiting for the next book in the series to come out. I think it would make for a good movie or tv series.

Family business

Its finally time for April and Max to meet Jerry's family. Will they accept them as family or turn against them like they did when they find out April and Max also see and talk with ghosts?

The trip to help a dog trainer could give Jerry more than he bargained for.

Don't miss another great book in this series.

This is a fun series and I am currently reading the last book. It will be sad to see it end. I have been binge reading the whole series since I discovered this author. I know she has more books and more other series and will most likely get caught up in them in the future but I want to read some other books in between that have been patiently waiting in my Kindle…lol.

Another great Jerry McNeal story. Love that Granny and Bunny got to Jerry and make him realize how important the Spirits are in his life. Glad Spencer understands Jerry and his daughter. I do wonder just what the next Gunter generation will be like. Now on to Book 18!

and there were 3

Not sure we got “company business” maybe family business.
It would have been great if all 3 contributed to a call for help. Not as much umpf as other books. I do appreciate the frequency of the nooks. Waiting a year is hard!
Thanks.

As Jerry continues maturing as a person (he has an epiphany thanks to Granny and Bunny early on), he finally visits his parents in Florida and introduces April, Max and Houdini, to much joy and merriment.

What Granny and Bunny did to force their stance on Jerry went beyond overboard. DNFed and at this point, I don't think I'll continue the series. Their little stunt absolutely crossed a line; it was more about humiliating him and having control.

I am enjoying this series so much I hate for it to
end. Love these characters and how they
interact with each other, and the spirits. The
personalities and the humor are perfect.
