I’ve got one protect the younger sister of my best friend and team captain. Then our private plane crashes in southern Alaska, and we’re the lone survivors.
The two of us are the unlikeliest of partners when we find ourselves stranded in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. My hockey playing skills are of no use here, where the bitter cold is my new opponent. And Trinity Lorenzo? She’s about as warm as a block of ice. I get it, she’s fleeing an abusive boyfriend and she and I are strangers. But I always keep my word, and I promised Dalton I’d keep his prickly sister safe. If we want to live, the two of us will have to find a way to get along and work together. Our ordeal draws Trinity and me closer, and fighting the pull between us becomes harder than anything we face while hoping for rescue. Whether we make it out or not, I need her. More than water or shelter—more than anything. Dalton will never forgive me if I cross the line with her, but surviving means something different now. Surviving means making her mine.

Sadly this didn't work out for me.. i did like the forced proximity but I hated that their was no hockey in this "hockey romance" the second half of the book felt rush and in my opinion didn't make sense. The MMC chose to withhold from "something" which will make sense once you read the book but even him caving in and breaking his promises was sorta meh. IDK. I'm sad this didn't work out I'm such a huge fan of Brenda's older work.

Wow, what an exciting, intense and full of unexpected events in this story about two people who find themselves stranded in an Alaskan wilderness. After an unfortunate accident, stranded and one is injured, taking up shelter in a small cabin. This story will renew your faith regarding a person's true will, determination and supporting of each other. Beautifully written story.
This was a good start to a new series by one of my favourite writers. Brenda Rothert was the author that attracted me to the world of Hockey Romance so I always eagerly anticipate her new work. She is one of my most read writers.
Lincoln (35) is Captain of the Minnesota Mammoths NHL Team. He never lets any woman get close to him. His career is everything and that includes his teammates. His colleague and best friend is Dalton Lorenzo and Dalton has a younger sister called Trinity (26). Trinity flies out to Alaska to watch her brother's exhibition match but then he discovers that Trinity is still being stalked by a weird guy. Dalton freaks out and insists she goes back to his place in Minneapolis rather than her place in Chicago and he asks Lincoln to escort her back.
Taking a private plane , the unthinkable happens and the plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness so Lincoln and Trinity as the sole survivors are stranded together.
I enjoyed the first half of the book the most. It was entertaining to see them verbally sparring with all that chemistry bubbling underneath. The despair they feel was well written and when they find a place to shelter the relief was palpable.
Overall this was a good read and a gorgeous escape from real life - much needed at the moment. I would have liked to hear some more about Linc's past. He's so intense and Trinity brought out a sweetness in him. Trinity is almost crippled at times by anxiety and watching him support her was very endearing.
If you read hockey romances and enjoy the hockey scenes , this novel has very little hockey action in it which is a shame because this author is awesome at writing those but perhaps that will be more prevalent in future books in the series. There's no OW/OM drama. I shall be reading more about the Minnesota Mammoths.
Finally , just to say that I beamed from ear to ear when Kate Ryker made an appearance! ( From Bound and Captive which are two of my all time favourite books and Ryke and Kate are on my top couples of all time shelf).
Trinity Lorenzo is a no-nonsense kind of woman. At twenty-six, she has had to fight for everything she has and put in everything to get where she is today. She is close to meeting the goal she set for herself. The company she works for allows her to work remotely, so she is in Alaska to watch her brother’s exhibition game. However, while at the game, she notices a guy she went on a date with a total of three times, Ronan, was now walking toward her. Luckily, she was in a guest box at her brother’s hockey game, so he couldn’t get to her easily, but she could get security to get to the hotel safely without incident.
She’s in the middle of a conference meeting for Kiss My Sass Cosmetics when her older brother, Dalton, barges into her room demanding to know why she is in the hotel instead of where he asked her to go when she called and told him what was going on. And as the vice president of Allura’s marketing department, she’s in charge of the team planning its launch. It wasn’t a great time to take off a couple of days to head to Alaska to watch her big brother launch a small puck across the ice. But there she was, Zooming from a gloomy hotel room.
When Dalton says, ”Meeting over.” Dalton is pissed! Now she is pissed he tells her to get packed. “I told you to go to the police station. What the hell were you thinking coming back here by yourself when some psycho is after you?”So now she is going to do what he tells her to do. That one of her team members is waiting for her at the airport, such that he is to take her to his place where she will be safe until he can arrange full-time security for her. My face is hot, and I’m suddenly sweaty. Dalton is making this stressful situation even worse.
He tells her he can’t travel with her because of his captain duties, but his friend will take her. “I had a meeting.” He looks up at the ceiling. “You had a meeting.” “You are the most incredible combination of smart and stupid I’ve ever known.” “I flew seven f--king hours to watch your game in a place where it gets dark before four p.m. Don’t be an a--hole. I have a launch in twenty-three days, and that might not mean anything to you, but it means everything to me. I’m incredibly busy at work right now.”
He puts a palm out. “You’re right, I’m sorry. But Trin, this guy following you from Chicago to F--king Alaska has me on edge. If I could find him right now, I’d probably kill him.” For the past sixteen years, Dalton has tried to be a big brother who fills as much of the space left behind by our dad’s loss as he can, and I love him for that. “I’ll go to the police when I get home,” I assure him. “And I’ll--” “You’re not going home.” “You’re flying out of a small private airport as soon as I drop you off there. My teammate will stay with you in Minneapolis until I get home.”
“No, absolutely not.” She was his little sister, and he would do anything to protect her. So, his friend Lincoln would be traveling with her to Minneapolis. Except what do you think the results would be when you cross a strong, sassy, anxiety-ridden Chicago businesswoman with a strong, sexy, stubborn hockey player who is your brother's friend and an eccentric pilot with medical issues?
You get a proximity romance, an age gap, and opposites attract. But oh! What a suspenseful story this one is for sure. Mind over matter.
I loved this story.!! This is my first Brenda Rothert book and I relished it. A forced proximity and brothers teammate romance Trinity and Lincoln go through the scariest time of their lives together. Lincoln is a Hockey Player and agrees to escort his teammates sister back home were he knows she will be safe. Trinity has a stalker and he is escalting, she is in Alaska watching her brother play Hockey and when he finds out about the stalker..he demands that she go back home with his trusted friend Lincoln. Trinity has no choice but to agree and so iff they go on a chartered plane her,Lincoln and the pilot. But disaster strikes when the pilot is in trouble and the plance goes down,in the middle of nowhere snow all around them. They are lucky to be alive but with Trinity injured and the prospect of them dying in the snowy wilderness things look bleak. But Lincoln takes his responsibilities seriously about taking care of Trinity for Dalton and they walk for miles in the freezing below zero snow for somewhere to take shelter. A miracle happens when they come across a remote cabin and that is where they take shelter for months until hopefully the snow melts and they can hike for help. Spending all this time together they get to know one another stripped and raw emotions they tell all their secrets to one another..and rely on eachother for survival. The chemistry grows between them Lincoln is torn between keeping his promise to his friend or giving into his attraction for Trinity. Brenda Rothert has written a very enthralling story it captivated me from the start and I loved reading it.I loved the push and pull between Trinity and Lincoln and I loved that they got close and loved eachother no matter the flaws they had. This book deals with the battle with anxiety and how crippling it can be..I know what it is like to live with anxiety and how bad it can get...so I had a connection with Trinity. I LOved Lincoln and the way he cared for Trinity...But what would happen if they are rescued what would their relationship become. I thoroughly enjoyed this stroy. Brilliant. 5 Stars.
Lincoln Rowe is a hockey player who’s team has come up to Alaska to play a game when he is asked to accompany his best friend Dalton’s sister back in order to keep her safe. He has been having a great season and knows he’s on his way to setting some records with the club.
Trinity Lorenzo flew up to Alaska to see her brother, Dalton, but also to avoid a stalker she has. When her brother realizes that the stalker has flown to Alaska he gets her on the next plane out of town to keep her safe.
When the plane Trinity and Lincoln are on crashes will the two be able to work together enough to survive their ordeal? But as the two begin to get closer will Lincoln act on his feelings knowing it could jeopardize his friendship with Dalton?
I thought this book was ok as it seemed to follow along a pretty straight path without a lot of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.
Lincoln was a good guy who was focused on his hockey goals and his teammates were who he considered his family so he wasn’t prepared to do anything to wreck that. He was determined to find a safe place for he and Trinity until they could be rescued.
Trinity was a very hard worker and was doing her job remotely but when Dalton realizes she is being stalked he wants to move her somewhere safe as soon as possible. Trinity was also a very stubborn character right from the beginning and you knew she was not prepared for the weather at all.
The plane crash definitely threw their lives into disarray and you had no idea where they were but they somehow managed to get safe. Things slowly progressed between the two as you’d expect for being alone. They were pretty lucky with what they stumbled upon so I felt like things didn’t have much of a challenge after the plane crash.
I wasn’t expecting the span of time that occurred but it almost goes to show how easy things were for them other than one event for Lincoln. Each of them had their own issues but the other seemed to help them overcome things.
I was pretty surprised at the end of the book with the decisions that Lincoln made for the both of them after not talking to Trinity. Things worked out happily but I needed a little more twists and turns.
When Brenda announced the beginning of a new hockey series set in Minnesota, I was all in. And with the tropes brothers best friend, forced proximity, and one bed I was all it. I just wasn’t prepared for the amount of emotion that she brought with Lincoln and Trinity. I very quickly developed a soft spot in my heart for these two. Lincoln Rowe, he definitely is not at all who he wants people to think he is. He likes for people to believe that he is a gruff, stoic hockey player, that gets around with ladies, and is perfectly happy being single. He doesn’t need anyone. However, Lincoln is far from that. Lincoln is so guarded, doesn’t trust people. He is one of the loneliest characters I have read in a long time; I just don’t think he knew that until Trinity came along. Trinity on the other hand is open in a sense, but also guards parts of herself. Rothert did a fantastic job of encapsulating what anxiety feels like for some people. Trinity was really struggling with her anxiety, and definitely shielded Linc from what was going on with her body and in her head. While Trinity and Linc are thrust together in a terrible situation they definitely take some time to warm up to one another and build a strong bond of friendship and trust. They share their innermost thoughts and are vulnerable with one another in a way that they haven’t been with others. Each of them have insecurities and things that are holding them back from experiencing life the way they want. Being trapped in a cabin with one another for months really allowed for them to open up and build a strong relationship. It isn’t until their rescue and they are pulled back into their previous lives that they both have to face what is next and how do they fit into one another's lives. I think that Lincoln grew so much emotionally and quickly went after what he wanted. I thoroughly enjoyed book #1 in this series, and I hope we get to see Dalton in the very near future! Looking so forward to this series! If you have never picked up a hockey romance and you aren’t sure it is for you, I highly suggest this one!
Lincoln Rowe had played in the NHL for years and is having an incredible record breaking season with the Minnesota Mammoth. He has this reputation for being a single, one night stand ladies man, when in fact he is totally opposite. Well except for being single. He doesn’t trust anyone, holds his heart closed and the no one can break that shell. That was until he got stranded with a fellow player’s sister for months in the Alaska wilderness after their plane crashed. Over time she slowly warmed his heart, but now the question was would they survive the long winter?
Trinity Lorenzo was the VP of a big make up company called Allure and was in Alaska for 2 reasons, to visit her brother, Dalton, who played hockey up there and to get away from a stalker. The company was allowing her to work remotely and all was going well until the man she was avoiding found her. Quickly her brother found a plane to get her out of there, accompanied by his friend Lincoln who played for an opposing team. They were on their way when the worst thing possible happened. The plane crashed, the pilot died and they were in the middle of no where. The only way the two of them could survive is if they worked together and beat the odds. What Trinity wasn’t expecting to fall in love with Lincoln but there was no doubting the connection. But when all is said and done and the rescue finally happens would they be able to work it out because they live in 2 different cities and have 2 very different careers.
This is the start of a new series called the Minnesota Mammoths by Brenda Rothert and I must say it is very different. While hockey is in there, it is not the way you would expect at all. You also must be prepared for it to span a longer period of time than in a normal book and it is for a reason. I will admit while it was good, there were a few places I was a bit disappointed and almost frustrated so that is why I am only giving it 3.5 stars. But I also know that there are many out there who would totally love this book from beginning to end. I can’t wait to see where this series goes that is one thing I do know.
In Brenda Rothert’s Lost in You, Lincoln’s hockey team captain/BFF asks him to protect Trinity, his younger sister—after a date stalks her. They become lone survivors of a private flight crash and must rely on each other for survival stranded in the Alaskan Wilderness—even though they rub each other the wrong way from the moment they meet.
Written in alternating dual first-person POV, Lost in You is my first read by the author. I believe I own some of her other hockey romances, and I will definitely move them up on my TBR and pick up her new releases because I loved every minute of this forbidden romance.
Rothert drew me in from the first scene with her intriguing premise and complex, fallible, likeable, and relatable characters Trinity and Lincoln, who I quickly grew to like and care about. Her active, straight-to-the-point narrative style, vivid, detailed, descriptive writing, and superb world-building made me feel right there with the characters in each moment. I couldn’t stop reading because I had to know whether/how they would make it out of Alaska together. She deftly develops the characters through their emotional, lively, banter-filled, humorous, steamy, intimate, and sexy interactions and love scenes that incorporate the characters’ senses and vivid descriptions. Her humorous, colorful, and snappy dialogue fits her sharp-witted and ill-tempered/grumpy heroine and hero, story, themes, and writing style.
I love Trinity and Lincoln’s interactions, connection, honesty with each other, and hilariously snarky, sweet, and sexy tension-filled banter and fiery chemistry. Lincoln and Trinity snuck into my heart. Trinity is stubborn, cranky, off-limits, and stronger than she knows. A problem solver burdened by childhood/parental baggage, Lincoln has trust issues that have left him isolated with trust issues and the need to be in control—always. Rothert wonderfully transitions them from an antagonistic relationship to reluctant allies to a deeper connection. I love how she slowly builds the intimacy between Trinity and Lincoln and develops their friendship, allowing them to get to know each other and get closer before becoming lovers. Their relationship and connection deepen, and they form an intimate friendship bond from which their love grows. Their love scenes are tension-filled, steamy, sweet, sexy, and emotional. Lincoln sees her strength. She sees his need to trust someone. They see and accept each other as is—imperfections and all—and bring each other peace. He helps her learn to manage her anxiety.
Rothert writes about mental health issues and anxiety with nuance and care. Although the pacing and tension slows in the novel’s latter half, the deftly written crash/action and suspenseful scenes keep you on edge. Lost in You is a sweet, steamy, hilarious, sexy, emotional, and fast-paced read perfect for fans of enemies-to-lovers, teammate's sister, stranded in the wilderness/snowstorm, plane crash, forced proximity romance.

What a fantastic start to a new series. LOST IN YOU is book #1 in Brenda Rothert's Minnesota Mammoths, a forced proximity, brother's best friend/teammate romance which was emotional, humourous, passionate, and an interesting adventure. Can't say that I've ever read a romance that starts out the way Trinity Lorenzo and Lincoln Rowe's does, but boy did I love it.
After a trip to Alaska to watch her brother's exhibition game, Trinity reveals a secret which has Dalton ensuring she has an escort home, his best friend and teammate Lincoln. A small plane, a crash, a journey through the woods, and a small cabin, lead to an adventure and a connection neither were expecting. Trinity suffers from anxiety and losing her medication in the crash leads to withdrawals and causes her moods to abruptly swing, causing arguments and some unwanted emotions. The more time that passes the more Trinity and Lincoln open up to each other and the deeper their connection becomes. Will their time in Alaska be all they have?
Trinity and Loncoln were wonderful together. Thier banter, humour, passion, and friendship were incredible. I oved the journey they took together, the eventual care they had for each other, and the possibility that they had found the person they were meant to share their life with ... the one, their soulmate.
LOST IN YOU captivated me from the beginning. I laughed, shed a few tears, and fell hard for two people who weren't looking for anything from each other. Brenda Rothert made me love Trinity and Lincoln through her wonderful words and heartfelt emotions she delivered with such vividness and understanding. This was such a terrific beginning to her new series. Highly recommended.
I thought this book was ok as it seemed to follow along a pretty straight path without a lot of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged.

I was intrigued with the synopsis of this book and the overall story has blown me away. I’m forever in my hockey romance era and I loved the twist on this story! “Lost in You” is an emotional, plot driven and romantic hockey romance that I devoured in one sitting.
Trinity hasn’t been exactly honest with her family and she’s in Alaska for her brother’s expedition game when he finds out. He instantly goes into protector mode and asks his best friend and teammate, Lincoln, to fly with her so she can home safely. But the unexpected happens, the plane crashes and the two are on their own in the Alaskan wilderness. As the two fight through the elements to find shelter and then to survive, a bond between them grows.
This book pulled me in immediately and still hasn’t let go even though I’m finished. This was such a unique start to her new series and I’m all about it. I loved Trinity and she was career focused but cared for her family. Lincoln has all the green flags in a book boyfriend, especially when they are out in the Alaskan wilderness. The two went through the unimaginable and had to survive until they were found or were able to make it home. The two started off with being somewhat hostile towards each other, a life changing event can do that to anyone, but through time and patience, they grew incredibly close. The build to more was a delicious slow burn but made up for it when they finally admitted that there was more than just being survivors together. The ending was so romantic and perfect for these two. I cannot wait to read more from this series.
I really enjoy survival romances. Going thru something like a plane crash and then developing feelings while helping each other survive? Basically always a win in my book. That aspect is pretty much the only reason I’m even giving this a 3. I did feel like that part of this book was well done.
Unfortunately there were multiple things I did not like. Overall I did like the characters, but I didn’t understand Linc. He pushes her away then suddenly lusts after her so much he can’t stop. He literally told her he’s fucked up because of his parents’ divorce and in the same breath started asking her about if she’s ever been spanked when literally nothing sexual had been happening, or implied to be happening soon, between them.
There is a big lack of consistency with the characters ages. Okay so Trinity is for sure 26 years old, that stays consistent. When Linc first meets her, he thinks to himself that he’s 8 years older than her = 34 years old. When she asks him his age, he says he’s 35 but a couple chapters later he says he’s 34. Also, Trinity references a time when she was 10 and her brother is 13 so Dalton = 29. But Linc says he is two years older than Dalton, so maybe Dalton could also be 32/33??
And then the ending. I hated Linc’s choice, and was actually happy that Trinity didn’t immediately just jump for joy about it. But then one quick little conversation and suddenly all is good?? No, it’s not. Or at the very least it shouldn’t be! Partners make decisions together.
Overall this wasn’t something I personally enjoyed, aside from the survival aspect, which is a bummer.
📚Review ~ Lost in You (Minnesota Mammoths #1) 🖋Author ~ Brenda Rothert 🖋Features: A Brother's Best Friend Hockey Romance ⭐️Rating: 5/5
“Nothing is just about you or me here. It’s always us.”
Trinity ~ surviving a plane crash elevates Trinity’s anxiety and insecurity. Lost in the Alaskan wilderness, she struggles with the unknown, survival, and how to cope in an isolated rustic cabin.
Lincoln ~ feels the weight of keeping his best friend’s sister alive after they crash land in Alaska. In a remote cabin, he and Trinity slowly learn to trust one another with more than just their lives.
Lost in You is an amazing journey involving Trinity and Lincoln. They are the only survivors in the vast openness of the storm-ridden Alaskan wilderness. With only the relentless whiteout of the snow and the good fortune to find shelter, they must rely on each other for survival, companionship. Together, Trin and Linc must overcome the unforgiving landscape and the stress of the unknown when the world has become reduced to the two of them a small cabin, a few books, canned food, and a board game.
The last thing I expected was to have my heartstrings tugged tightly tonight reading this book.
Lincoln is Trinity’s brother’s hockey teammate and friend. They find themselves the two sole survivors of a plane crash in the Alaska wilderness. They don’t have the best start together. Two personalities clashing against each other. But if they want to survive they have to work together.
What I loved about this book: everything! The inevitability of having to bring the walls Trinity and Lincoln both had up around themselves and allow each other in. Their relationship evolves from tolerance to attraction. I loved that this is not your traditional hockey romance and how Brenda Rothert weaves this story to show how in the darkest moments there can be the biggest brightest light. And how the story put so much perspective into what the two characters considered important in their life.
I also thought the representation of Trinity dealing with high anxiety gave readers an insight into how crippling that can be and the challenge to deal with that during a highly stressful time in life.
And finally Lincoln who fights his own demons and how it limits him in his relationship ships.
This was so good, I’m off to sink into the rest of this series and everything else Brenda Rothert has to offer!!
Wow !!!!! This is not what I expected when I picked this book up and it was a breath of fresh air to be taken down a totally different route for this hockey romance which is book one in the new Minnesota Mammoths from Brenda Rothert. This is Trinity Lorenzo and her brother’s teammate Lincoln’s entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat journey. Trinity has a stalker that she has kept secret from her family but when she is visiting her brother in Alaska for a hockey game he hits the roof when he finds out. He makes plans for his teammate Linc to get her home safely on a local companies plane but from the moment these two get in the air things go terribly wrong and when the plane crashes they find themselves alone in the Alaskan Wilderness…… Spending time together has them wanting and needing more than good and water and it’s not long before feelings come into play. That’s all you’re going to get from me because I highly recommend you one click to get the rest of this captivating story. I loved everything about this book, I was drawn in and I was up most of the night because I couldn’t put it down. The characters are easy to love, the story is well written and believable and if Trin and Linc’s story is anything to go by Ms Rothert will certainly have another hit series on her hands. Can’t wait to meet the next Minnesota Mammoth.
I like this author and her hockey books, was excited to start a new series by her, but this one doesn't feel like a hockey book. It's more that was the job that the MC had, there was .01% of the book dealing with hockey. I'm ok with it, but just not what I expected going in.
The plane crash really seemed to put a lot in perspective for Trinity and Dalton. A stalker, that's nothing compared to what happened to them, their jobs, not important, survival was. These 2 were lucky in a couple of ways, that they didn't die in the crash and that they found a stocked cabin. It gave them the time to come up with a plan. It also gave them time to get to know each other. You know, had the plane ride been normal, these two would have parts ways with out a backwards glance once they were back home.
It was nice to see them really get to know each other and make sure their time they waited was awful. How they got recused was crazy and their acclimation back to the land of the living was odd for both of them. Each changed for good and not the person they were.
Dalton made some interesting choices on a wish and a prayer, good thing he got Trinity to see what he meant with his actions and she was able to see the same things. The ending was cute and very apt for the two of them.
This book was not what I was expecting at all. From the beginning I was hooked. This is the story of Trinity Lorenzo and her brother Dalton's teammate, Lincoln Rowe. It's an emotional story of survival, trust and hope.
Trinity is 26 and the VP of Allura's marketing. Her world consists of meetings and cosmetics and getting them to launch. She has come to Fairbanks, Alaska to see her older brother Dalton's pro hockey exhibition game. Her brother just found out she is being stalked by a guy she had dated a couple times and is not happy. He had followed her from Chicago to this game but was stopped by security before he could get to her. Her brother has decided to fly her out of there to his place in Minneapolis and has his teammate going with her to keep her safe.
Lincoln is 34 and his world revolves around hockey. He's the team captain and has a couple records he is planning on breaking this season. When Dalton asked Linc a favor to get Trinity home safely, he agreed.
When their plane crashes everything changes. Two people who are very different now have to rely on each other for survival.
Oh boy talk about closed proximity yet full of chemistry between these two. By all counts they definitely have nothing in common yet in a way there is a connection no one saw coming. Brenda Rothert not only brings them together in a way that is well all of Trinity's fears coming to light but we see Trinity fighting her condition. We see a woman who is so dependent on medicine yet it takes a strong man like Lincoln to make her see she is much stronger than she thinks. The attraction is all there but so is the hate in the beginning making their love bloom in a way they never saw coming. This is more of a story of survival but one of a friendship surpassing a near death experience to turning to a forever that is meant to happen. One thing for sure one can learn alot when it is just the two of you and fighting mother nature to survive. This is the first in Brenda Rothert's new Minnesota Mammoths series and can't wait to see what she does next with this hockey team.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Lincoln Rowe is a grumpy professional hockey player. He has a best friend and teammate Dalton Lorenzo. His sister visited him in Alaska for a hockey game and he found out about her stalker, he was very worried so he asked Lincoln to accompany Trinity Lorenzo on a private airplane back home. They crashed and were the only survivors. Now they need each other to survive. They need to put their reservations about one another aside and be a team.
Trinity doesn’t trust men anymore. She is fleeting form her ex boyfriend, who wasn’t very gentle with his hands. But Lincoln is not who he is portraying to the world. He is a lonely man that doesn’t trust anyone. They both become clother while trying to survive and praying for rescue. I loved their chemistry and passion. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for an opposites attract, hockey, forced proximity, romantic suspense then you’re going to love it.
This was a different but good hockey story. Trinity and her brother were close and he was always trying to take care of her. I loved that Trinity also supported her brother and flew to Alaska to watch one of her brother’s exhibition hockey games. Boy does her brother fly off the handle when he finds out some guy has been stalking Trinity and even came out to Alaska. Her brother asks his team captain and best friend to take Trinity back to Chicago. Little does Lincoln know that Trinity takes medicine for anxiety. It was so scary when their plane crash landed in Alaska in the wild. Trinity lost her medicine and coming off cold turkey was not a pretty sight! Needless to say, the two rubbed each other the wrong way. I couldn’t imagine the two walking in the snow to try and find help. You have to read the book to see what Lincoln and Trinty went through. Ms Rothert did a great job of describing the scenery and the interaction between Lincoln and Trinity. I even got cold reading the story! I strongly encourage you to read the book.
A great start to a new series! This book was an emotional quick read with a cute love story. Trinity is a VP of marking and truly enjoys her job. When she flys out to watch one of her brothers games he turns into a very over protective brother. Which leads her to being on a flight with one of his teammates. Lincoln is a professional hockey player on the top of his career. When his teammates and best buddy ask him to do him a favor..he does it. When Trinity and Lincoln’s plane ends up crashing these two have no idea what is ahead of them. At first these two bicker non stop and you think they might kill each other…then it turns into an amazing sweet love story. This story was emotional, sweet and a little funny all rolled into one great story. A story about finding your soulmate when you least expect it. Finding out changing your life’s story is not a bad thing…it’s just making it soo much better! I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more book in this series and by this author.
Just love a good hockey romance, and Brenda Rothert knows how to write these well 😁
Trinity is in Alaska visiting her brother hockey player Dolton, who has found out she has been stalked. Worrying about his sister, he asks his best friend and teammate Lincoln to accompany her back to Chicago on a private jet. When Lincoln & Trinitiy's plane crashes, they are forced to look for shelter from the snow. After hours of walking, they stumble upon a cabin. Trinity suffers with anxiety and depends on her medication that is now lost, and having to deal with the withdrawal has herself and Lincoln bickering and rubbing each other the wrong way. After spending a lot of time together, they open up to each other about their pasts and become closer. This book is a great start to the new series. It has emotion, passion, and chemistry and even made me chuckle. I'm looking forward to book 2 if there is one 😍
Lincoln has his career as a hockey player and his friendships with other hockey players and that is all that he thinks he needs. When his friend’s sister Trinity is in a dire situation, he does not hesitate to do a favor for his friend and agrees to see her safely back home however a plane crash was not part of the plan especially when they will be rescued is uncertain.
Trinity is strong and independent, but she has also attracted the attention of the wrong person. Her brother’s attempts to protect her have her now living in isolation with Lincoln after an accident. Having no one else to depend on they will learn a lot about themselves, each other, and the feelings they never expected.
Even though Lincoln and Trinity were brought together under unlikely circumstances they just fit despite the differences between them. They had some challenges to overcome both when they were waiting to be rescued and once their lives resumed however some things are meant to be.
This one was so worth the wait! Brenda did an amazing job on this slow burn romance! 5 Alaskan stars for this one! Trinity has a stalker, so her brother takes it upon himself to protect her from him by sending her on a private plane with his team captain, Lincoln, for safety. When the plane goes down, they are the only two survivors, and they have to find shelter from the cold Alaskan days and nights. When the stumble upon a cabin, stocked with everything they could possibly need, they're thrilled. But she's a tough nut to crack, she's stubborn, and fights his every move. These two bare their soles while stuck in the cabin alone, they will get to know each other like no one they ever knew before. It's a slow burn love story, that only Linc and Trinity could ever understand! I loved it so much! Don't miss out on this new book in a new series by Brenda, you will love it!
Lost in You, book one in the Minnesota Mammoths series was a very interesting twist on a hockey romance since most of the books took place in a remote cabin and I have to say that I loved it anyway. Lincoln, who plays for the Mammoths and Trinity, his teammates sister, who didn’t know each other at all, packed a lot into the short time, that to them felt endless, after surviving an airplane crash, hiking through the cold, snowy wilderness, finding themselves lucky enough to discover a cabin in the woods that had food, taking the time they had together to share their secrets and dreams for their future, but most importantly they found themselves falling in love only to have the real world interrupt their peace. Read for yourself to see how things worked out for them and I hope you enjoy their journey as much as I did.
I enjoyed immensely this 5 star story in an evening by a campfire.
Trinity and Lincoln find themselves in a dangerous predicament. He’s a pro hockey player who’s doing his teammate a favour by accompanying his high class sister out of Alaska. But the unexpected happens. Now they must survive.
This was an adventurous kind of story of 2 people stuck in the middle of Alaska during winter time. It’s intense, funny and highly entertaining. I was hooked from the very first page to the last one. I read it in an evening. It’s that addicting. Although a storyline that’s been told many times over, this one had some twists. They had nothing in common but managed to survive just fine. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Lost in You is the first book in Brenda Rothert‘s Minnesota Mammoths series. It is a romance that features the forced proximity, one bed, and best friend’s sister tropes.
Despite a demanding career and a major project to oversee, Trinity finds time to work remotely and travel to Alaska. Her purpose? To see an important hockey game featuring her brother Dalton‘s team. When Trinity needs to return home, having unfortunately been stalked by a guy she’d dated, Dalton decides to ask Lincoln, a close friend and teammate, to accompany his sister on the plane to ensure her safety. Unfortunately, the domestic flight they take, which already seemed a bit unsafe, crashes in cold South Alaska. From that moment on, the two survivors of the impact must find a way to survive in a completely hostile environment.
The main characters are psychologically well-developed. I honestly didn’t expect their depth after reading the book’s plot. But actually, I really appreciated the description of the characters from the beginning, their transformation during the adventure, and their further growth at the end. Furthermore, it was very well done of the author to address very important themes such as widespread anxiety and the trauma that parental mistakes can inflict on children.
I really liked that while the main focus of the narration is the love story, the author included incredibly believable descriptions. Not just of the plane crash, but more importantly, of the hostile Alaskan environment and the dangers one might encounter, including adverse weather conditions and wild animals.
The first part of the novel was my favorite, perhaps because I am one of those people who doesn’t like to socialize and enjoys tranquility. And despite the situation the two protagonists were in—a cabin in the middle of nowhere—I found it very cozy in its own way. While the second half of the volume, where they return to civilization, loses some of that pleasant sheen.
Before reading this book, I was apprehensive because I don’t know anything about hockey, and generally, sports incredibly bore me. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the sport is only part of the backdrop of this story, and there are no exhausting descriptions of the game. Similarly, I was scared of finding myself with another mediocre best friend’s sister trope book, but fortunately, I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a small novel that’s truly well-written.
I absolutely loved this book! I read it in two sittings during the course of one evening - I could not put it down! I would have stayed up until the early morning hours to read it if I hadn’t finished it. Trinity and Lincoln’s plane crashes and they are eventually forced to seek shelter after it becomes apparent they aren’t going to be saved anytime soon. It seems like these two can’t agree on anything. Trinity thinks Lincoln is acting like a caveman and he’s riddled with guilt over not taking better care of his best friend’s little sister. You’ll love these two characters! They made me laugh out loud a few times. I’m going to miss them both, but hopefully they will make special appearances in the next story of this series. Excellent beginning to a new series!
