Alien abduction is nothing like the movies, take it from Sedona Branco.
Snatched away in her sleep, Sedona wakes up to her personal nightmare. There are no little green men and no ‘beam me up’ moments—none of the cool stuff she used to watch in her favorite sci-fi movies. Instead, it’s all a scary, hopeless, super-not-fun experience.
That is until a botched hijacking attempt lands Sedona stranded on a frozen alien planet. Now responsible for the lives of other women and scrambling to survive, Sedona needs to focus on the big find a way home.
But, it’s getting a little hard to think when staring into the golden eyes of her intriguing new companion.
If a gift falls from the sky, you treasure it.
Kuvier didn’t know what he would find when he followed the shining lights in the sky. Used to receiving the bare minimum of consideration and accepting of his fate, Kuvier never expected that he would find strange women lost on his planet.
Especially not when one of the women is meant for him.
With no knowledge of each other’s language and vastly different cultures, Kuvier is determined to beat the odds and make Sedona his.
After all, there are more ways to communicate with his mouth than just using words.
This book features the following fated mates, 'he falls first,' alien adbuction/stranded human women, possessive/protective MMC, height difference, and more!
Insta-love is not my cup of tea. This book is set up for a series & I am definitely more interested in reading Amari & Ennik’s story when it comes out in January.
This was cute. Sedona and Kuvier were adorable and had an instant attraction and inst-love on his part. It was nice seeing things with them develop.
This book committed one of my pet peeves, the epilogue sets up the next couple’s book. While we knew Amari and Enikk would be next, it would’ve been nice to see Sedona and Kuvier maybe a month or year into their new roles, but it see,s like these books will just pick up where the last book leaves off.
I stayed up all night to finish this book that’s how much I enjoyed it. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 for spice, the main characters had good chemistry and tension and it didn’t feel like it took them forever to get together but it also didn’t feel like it happened too fast. Can’t wait for book 2! If you can’t picture the MMC, the authors TikTok gives you a better understanding of what he looks like and you will not be disappointed.
I enjoyed this and I'm excited for the next book! This was a slowish burn with a language barrier (my favorite)! I liked how this was not solved with a chip or implant or magical fruit etc. They learned each other's language. I also enjoyed the survival aspect. This wasn't overly stressful. The conflict wasn't concerning the mmc and fmc's relationship and there was no 3rd act breakup. Although there were brief mentions of having children, there are no epilogue babies which I really enjoyed. Not a fan of pregnancy as a major theme in my romance books.

"His To Worship" by Renee Harper 📖Book 1 of the Gifts of Atiqarii series
I absolutely adored this read! Sweet, spicy and swoonworthy is the perfect description for the first book of the new Gifts of Atiqarii series from Renee Harper.
Our FMC Sedona is abducted by aliens, and a failed takeover attempt in the spaceship sees our girl crash landing on an unfamiliar planet. Cue a rescue operation from a sweet, sexy and muscly... Goat man? 😅 Okay, hear me out...
Kuvier is the outcast of his clan, due to no fault of his own. And when he stumbles across Sedona, who is surely a gift from the Great Mother herself, he knows she is meant to be his, and his alone. The dual 1st person POV gives us insight into each of the characters as they adjust to their new pairing, and the language barrier adds an extra layer of complexity. I won't spoil the rest of the story, but I can certainly say it's well set up to expand on other characters for future books!
There were a few side characters that I loved, inluding Xiomara who sounds like she has an incredible story to tell (this isnt her first alien rodeo!), and cheeky Enikk, who's recently come of age and is unlucky in unrequited love with one of the females.
I'm super excited for the next book in this series to be released! 😍
If you like the ice planet barbarians books, chances are you’ll like this! Though I think the fated mates aspect is better done in this story. The human women truly have a choice (they don’t feel the bond unless a mating bite is done) while the fated mate connection happens instantly on the part of the aliens, which makes more sense to me. The story’s really cute and I’m looking forward to read more books in this series.
On a side note, I hate when author’s have a character reference Stockholm syndrome. This is not a real thing but it’s still mentioned all the time by female authors?? It’s even more ironic because the term was coined by a man out of sexism and bigotry to a few female hostages. Not gonna lie, it’s such a pet peeve of mine it lowered my rating by half a star.😅
I have found my heart’s beat. I did not know until today that I had lost it, but truly did my heart ever even move before I saw her?
This book was *chef's kiss*! If you’re looking for a swoon-worthy, consent-heavy, slow-burn alien romance, this book is for you.
It starts with a bang, and you’re instantly thrown into the action, which I really liked. Sedona is a fierce, competent main character with a good heart. She was (rightfully) overwhelmed by the whole situation, but she had good survival skills, which was refreshing to see. I loved how confused she was by everything, but still managed to make the best out of it and didn’t shy away from potential dangers to survive.
Kuvier was such an interesting male character that quickly captured my heart. Disowned by his own people, he was a lonely but skilled hunter with an equally good heart. He fell for Sedona the minute he met her, and it was so amazing to see that, while he wanted to be with her immediately, he respected her boundaries and treated her with kindness and affection.
The romance was slow-burn and built on trust and respect. It was so great to see them getting to know each other and their cultures before getting together.
Not only did I love Sedona and Kuvier’s love story, but the worldbuilding and external conflicts were just as fun. Most novels I read are mainly character-driven, but this book had the perfect balance of romance, character developments, and plot. The second half was such a delightful surprise to me with all the action and twists.
A perfect novel full of amazing characters, an adorable romance, thrilling action and fascinating worldbuilding.

His to Worship de Renee Harper Serie Gifts of Atiqarii libro 1
Argumento:
4.5 stars rounded to 5 for Sedona and Kuvier’s alien planet romance 🛸 I am a SUCKER for an alien abduction story 😂 and Sedona’s story was no different. She is taken in a tank along with many other women, abducted by mantis like aliens 😬😬 I love that the women hijacked the spaceship and saved themselves 😤 even if they crash landed on an alien planet 😂 all the ladies were all fierce in their own right 💕
Typically book 1 of an alien romance starts with the leader getting his romance. I really enjoyed that Kuvier was this outcast. He was not who you’d think would get his love story 👀 and that was brilliant! Plus there was a language gap, with the men (aliens? 🛸) approaching communication differently. The women were injected with super abilities so they can learn the language but it’s tough going 😅 Overall though I really enjoyed the world building, and for a first novel this author KILLED IT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What I liked: -Mars needs woman trope -that the burn was slow even though these two recognized one another as mates pretty soon 🔥🔥 -the ladies stay in the pods for a while after they crash landed, except for Sedona, I’d never seen that and I read wayyyy too much alien smut 💀 -the utter DEVOTION these aliens have for their mates 😭 omg they just want them to be happy and I’m here for it! -I feel like Kuvit is gonna grow, and I really can’t wait to hear his perspective on everything -the women save themselves not once but TWICE. They don’t wait for the big, strong aliens to win them or save them. No, they’re out there doing it themselves! 🤌🏼 -the aliens were sooo different than what we usually see. They were goat like and I didn’t think I’d find that hot but boyyyy was I wrong lolol -the women rose above so much. And Sedona really grew into her role in leadership. She cared so much and that was one of the most beautiful parts -that eventually the bond could be felt by both. I liked that it took consent for the bond to snap into place for the humans -the representation. ♥️ I loved how authentic these characters were written, the hair concerns, and more. These women were not tokens, they were powerful and resilient Black women ready to survive whatever space threw at them. Even a blood mountain and sexy goat mates 😂
What I didn’t like: -what were the mystery tracks?? I don’t remember this being solved 🥲 -Krissy sucked 🙄 like yes she was abducted right before her wedding but gahhh she was so annoying -the uncle chief. I hope he gets punished in later books -I kinda wish they’d left camp a little sooner. There were a couple slow parts prior to them ending up at Kuvier’s clan. -this is the authors first book so I can’t binge anything else by her 😭😭😭
TLDR; Don’t sleep on Sedona and Kuvier’s story. Its got a resilient heroine, and a hot AF goat daddy who just wants to take care of his human mate 💅 Bingeable and fun 👏🏼

Very cute alien romance! Sedona was abducted by aliens that looked like huge praying mantises, then she and three other women took over when they were transferred to a smaller ship with minimal crew. Sadly they couldn't turn the ship around and fly back to Earth. Without the crew they flew right into a field of meteorites, so the ship crashed on the closest habitable planet. I would argue if it was that habitable, the frozen tundra was a rather harsh environment ;) We learned that on that ship there were 60 stasis pods, but when Sedona wakes up in hers after the crash there is only the one compartment that contained 8 of them. I hope that the rest survived and would be found in the next books. Kuvier was an ostracized hunter from a species that looked like bipedal mix of goats and lions. He saw a great ball of fire fall from the sky, and he knew that he had to check it out. When he found a small, furless female in the crash site and smelled that she was his mate, he thought that she was a gift from their Goddess. He started courting his mate, they were both learning their respective languages and sharing touches, but of course there had to be complications ;) As the rest of the women woke up in their pods and another hunter Enikk joined them poor Kuvier had less time to woo his mate. As the dark and extremely cold winter was closing in on them both hunters decided to take the women back to their clan. Of course it was a mess, but it ended well enough ;) I liked both main characters. Kuvier was a possessive mate, but he was also caring and he would do anything to please Sedona. I was a little disappointed that Sedona was embarrassed with her blossoming relationship in the company of other women, but I'd probably feel judged and self-conscious too ;) It was great that there was a build up and the whole getting to know each other before the main characters jumped into being mated. I liked the way the fated mates worked here, the aliens felt the pull towards their female, but the women had full freedom of choice, if they give the guy a chance. I was sad that there wasn't an epilogue showing our couple after a few months or years of living together, but I got that we will see what happens with them all in the next books, so I'm patiently waiting for them to come ;)

The Thot’s Plot: So I want you to picture Ice Planet Barbarians meets Bug’s Life. Like picture the grasshoppers kidnapping you except it’s not kidnappers it’s praying mantises. So picture this - the praying mantises (manti?) abduct you and bring you into their spaceship (the praying manti have a spaceship) and they wanna experiment on you. I’m talking season 2 of American Horror Story alien subplot shit okay? So anyways they’re like kidnapping you and a bunch of women (why don’t they take the men from the planet, we have soo many to spare) for their experimentification then BAM you and your girlies end up on a cold planet with furry large men to save you and impregnate you and fill you with love (and cum). Sounds just like another story you know right??? Well this was better than that one. I said what I said.
The Thot’s Thoughts: This book jumps RIGHT INTO IT. Like legit the first page starts the action like complete raw dogging the climax without any buildup. And I’m okay with it. We know why I’m reading this book and it’s not for the world building (which weirdly highly resembles Ice Planet Barbarians). The chemistry between the main characters was delicious and I just ate up their scenes together even when they didn’t speak the same language. Like my man respected the FMC’s bodily autonomy and earned her respect the CORRECT WAY. This book is legit a more diverse and non-toxic male (besides the bad guys) version of Ice Planet Barbarians. I liked the characters and the plot and the love interest sooo much more than IPB. Like my man was essentially The Beast from Beauty and the Beast with the personality of Jamie Fraiser like he was patient and sweet and just respected tf out of the FMC. Also, the FMC was so likable and felt like a real person and just was strong-willed. This book is just so fun and silly but also touches on things like taking care of yourself and respecting those different from you. The diversity in body types, ethnicities, and races was just so amazing, as well. I just highly suggest it cause it was a great time AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES!!
The spice, girls (still haven’t thought of a new name for this part yet lol): This is def a slow burn but in a super hot way. Like in the beginning, the MCs don’t speak the same language (obvi cause they’re different species) and like the tension built up in their interactions through touches and looks and it was sublime. Once they got it on, it was hot af and made me smile
The first thing I enjoyed was the characters. They were all fleshed out so well, all having their own unique characteristics and personalities. All the side characters were great, and I look forward to getting to know them better.
Sedona and Kuvier were the sweetest couple. I loved how their relationship grew and sizzled slowly.
Sedona is intelligent and incredibly independent. She’s a natural leader but soft and kind. The way she approached situations and thought things through was so refreshing and appealed to me. I will say, she’s probably one of my favorite FMCs in a long time.
Kuvier is a strong, caring, cinnamon roll who surprised me with his dirty mouth in the “bedroom” I adored him beyond measure. I won’t lie, I usually fall for the broody morally gray love interests but oh man was his character delectable. He is a natural protector and provider and something about that scratched an itch for me. He’s what an alpha male should be like.
Their journey wasn’t always necessarily easy but the conclusion for them was perfect. I can’t wait to see if they have kits later on and see them in the next books.
I also have to say, the author did such an amazing job at subtly giving us information for the overarching series plot. There were details that I’m left curious about but I know hands down I’ll find them in the next books and I’m really excited! I’m also excited for a few of the other girls stories specifically, Xiomara’s.
If you love alien or monster romances, this is definitely a great read for you.
You’ll find ✨Fated mates ✨Alien abduction ✨slight 💦🤰🏻 kink without pregnancy ✨Cinnamon roll/protector hero ✨”Mine” ✨Open door spice ✨Survival on ice planet And you’ll also find diverse, realistic, and lovable characters 😍😍
I have already read a lot of abducted by aliens/stranded on an alien planet-love stories and this one was quiet similar, but still made interesting by the alien's culture and the conflict. The MMC was adorable and constant in his affection and care with the FMC. But it was noticeable that this is the Author's first book. The set-up part of the story was too quick and too smooth. The characters that were abducted by aliens! and woke up on an alien ship immediately banded together and had all the answers to everything at the ready. Also, when the humans crash landed on an alien planet they seemingly stopped being strategic. The way in which one of the side characters admitted to having been already kept captive by the aliens since she was a child was way too abrupt and unbelievable and the other characters got over this quiet quickly. Naturally, this woman that has been living with aliens almost all her life would have been the natural option to turn to with answers, but somehow the FMC was the one instead. The characters also didn't really consider that according to the one woman-who-knows-best all aliens view humans as lesser and that they are on a planet like earth that is seen as less developed and therefore off limits for interaction with other alien species. Meaning a SOS signal (with a 100% chance) could result in big big trouble for the humans but also for the people living on the planet! Sadly, even though the 2nd book was supposed to come out on Jan 1st of 2025 it is still not published.

His To Worship by Renee Harper is an alien abduction story with the romantic tropes of fated mates and proximity. This book appears to be the first book by Ms. Harper and the first in a proposed series, Gifts of Atiqarii. Sedona awakens to find out that she has left Earth and her schoolteacher job far behind. She is a reluctant guest on a spaceship headed to unknown parts. She soon discovers that she is not the only one in this situation, seven other women are also being held. Courageously, Sedona and her shipmates escape their captors but crash land on a frigid planet. Sedona is the first person to gain consciousness after the crash and is certain that she will not survive the harsh conditions. When Kuvier discovers the stranded Sedona his kind heart immediately renders aid even before he comes to realize that she is his soul mate! Kuvier is such an awesome mixture of strength and sweetness, and Sedona displayed resourcefulness and a willingness to take chances in the face of hardship. Their accelerated ability to understand each other’s language was rather unrealistic but funny. The second story featuring Amari and Enikk was slated for release earlier this year, but I don’t see it. Hopefully, it will drop later. In conclusion, His To Worship is an enjoyable read and Ms. Harper created an intriguing world with the most unusual inhabitants. https://theretiredreader.com/f/his-to...
At first, I couldn’t help comparing this book to Ice Planet Barbarians (which most alien books are compared to, but this one is very similar). I fell like the world building could have been built up a bit more. Maybe it will be in future books. But I relied heavily on knowing what some things were because of other books I’ve read with the same thing in them.
I found myself completely in love with Kuvier and his race and want more books about the other pairings! I’m a little sad things didn’t work out going back to his clan but I suppose it’s for the better. I’m also curious to see about the girl who didn’t get a mate. That would be me! I want an alien mate so bad and I’d be the only girl without one lol
This book was a lot of fluff and cute love building between Kuvier and Sedona. The spicy scenes were fab. I’d say a pretty good amount for the book.
If you’re looking for: Alien abduction Language barrier Stranded on primitive planet Cute cinnamon roll alien falls for human girl Lack of females/males excited for females This book is for you!!! I loved it and can’t wait for the next one!!
OK let's start with YES...Love it all!!!! Let's proceed to get the coordinates of Atiqarii.... FLY there, Get the name of all the unmated males in the new clan and start doing some jumping jacks.... because AGAIN YES!!!!
SERIOUSLY Kuvier is literally the BEST MALE LEAD IN ANY Steamy Lit book EVER!!! Makes sense he isn't human..... I love how his loving protection is not cruel or domineering or misogynistic. He is Literally written PERFECTLY!!!! Sedona is equally as amazing!!!! I love her strength, natural leadership skills, open-mindedness and smarts.
Mrs. Harper yes please to Amari and Enikk follow up, but what about Xio? I feel like one of the other hunters who are out that we havent met yet like Peviik or Ruuq might find her. Living off of lots of high hopes! Hopes all over the place you!!!

I've read my fair share of alien abduction/fated mate/stranded on another planet series, and this one has started out great. The personalities are diverse but not unrelatable, the world building was clear but didn't drag on. The author managed to endear the supporting characters to me enough that I am soooo antsy for the next books. There was just enough drama to get me amped up for when the fmc and mmc triumphed over the "bad guys", while some other books can add drama layers on to the point where it's clearly just page fillers instead of adding to the story. Renee is off to a great start with the world of Atigaril.
Thank you Renee for having a real representation of human women. These ladies are different races, ethnicities, sizes, even income levels.
It was a little hard reading the very complete graphic description of the bug guys. I would have found it very hard to keep me cool waking up to those faces. But the same details made Kuvier come to life.
I really appreciate the time Renee took to flesh other her characters especially Sedona. It is refreshing that the intimate scenes were not rushed to chapter 3 like so many Sci Fi books these days.
4.6-8. I enjoyed this one! I love a destined mate book, which was balanced by the fact the the male feels it from his end more than the human women. Super cute "Squeeee" moments with Kuvier's affectionate, protective and possessive nature of his mate. Only a few marks down because the beginning, while interesting, felt a bit slow or could have been pared down a bit. It was empowering to see the ladies take out the capturers though. This is a solidly good sci-fi/fantasy romance book that is sort of cozy and light, not too heavy-handed and no deaths.
Spoilers I know Amara, who is super cute, is next, but I want to see Xo's story. She needs a mate!!
read this right when it was released and i honestly loved it! i liked the development of the romance between the two main characters because it was genuine, realistic, and it didn't feel too rushed. it was definitely high heat so be ready for that. i liked the ending and i think it sets the stage for the next books pretty well. the only thing i wished was that the author maybe added character art in the book or updated the cover? it was hard to picture the MMC in a way that gave sexy until i found the author's tiktok and saw the art lol
Monster/alien girlies where are you? This book is criminally under hyped!!!
This is the type of slow burn I love! Where the main characters grow to learn each other and build a stronger bond…Then everyone and everything keeps them apart when they finally want to complete the bond. 🤭😩
Also love the language barrier!! No quick fixes to it either, they have to genuinely learn each other’s language.
Absolutely in love with the female empowerment throughout this entire book!!
I need book to like yesterday!!! Take all my money!!! 💰
I enjoyed it so much! It's a slow burn between fated mates with a language barrier sci-fi romance. The MMC is a complete sweetheart and the FMC is a pragmatic, competent woman. There's very little breeding talk, mostly just I will provide and give you many kits, type thing. It's sweet and it's steamy and I really hate waiting for the next one. Just wanted to share and hope others will read it. There's room for improvement, of course, but I didn't find anything to jar me out of my enjoyment.
This is a great story for fans of Ruby Dixon and Ursa Dax. This book covers the standard tropes I love so much. Women kidnapped by bad aliens. Primitive planet. Female shortage. Fated mates. Language barrier. Those are the basic story points I want to start with, but then I get hooked by the characters and world building. There’s a few aspects that really stand out. I love Sedona and Kuvier, first of all. I really like how there‘s no built in time limit for the fated mates. Kuvier recognize Sedona as his fated mate, but he can take his time and actually win her over. Another difference between this and other stories is that Kuviers tribe is full of jerks. The main conflict isn’t the relationship (because Sedona and Kuvier are both into it right away). The main conflict is them both showing leadership skills with the other stolen women and the tribe. I’m glad I read this now but I also wish I could fast forward a few years when there’s more in the series!
Where can I get a horned-cat-man-warrior that I can snuggle on a cold winter day????
This was such a fun read—it was fast-paced, endearing, and cozy. I love a slow-burn fated mates story and this nailed it so well. We get the intensity from the fated mate bond, and the slow-burn of building a trusting relationship.
I may have stayed up to 1am one night because I JUST NEEDED THEM TO SMOOCH. I love this story, and I am very excited for book no. 2!!
4.5 stars now this is how you write an alien romance. ive tried reading others but they didnt capture my attention like this one did. the representation of all races of women was a auto click for me. the writing and descriptions were chefs kiss. when i tell yall this book ATE im not lying. i look forward to reading more from Harper. she is an amazing writer.
so cute! love his obsession with her! its sweet and soft with a bit of spice in between🥰 the only thing i can complain about is the communication part, like i get that they learn each other languages fast but i would love to have more explanation and scenes of how the humans are different from before.
Loved the start of this series! Finding good alien romance with black FMC can be hard. I loved the story and the characters and can't wait to read the next book in the series
This science fiction romance was a great read. It reminds me of Ruby Dixon, but there are several elements that make it unique. The mmc is a marshmallow. The fated mates trope is well done.
I absolutely loved this book! The world building was good, the setting was great and the interactions were realistic. If you liked "Ice Planet Barbarians," you'll like this. Looking forward to the next release!
