Rate this book
Step into a world of wonder and adventure, where ancient Romanian tales are reimagined with fresh detail and lively dialogue. Journey alongside Stan Bolovan as he cleverly outwits a family of dragons, his cunning illuminating the path to victory. Witness the bravery of a prince seeking a miraculous bird to complete a church steeple, and the resourcefulness of the twins with the golden star as they uncover their royal heritage and restore justice to their kingdom.

Encounter endearing characters who find their true worth through acts of kindness, like the poor man who discovers a magical rooster that brings him wealth, and a princess who falls in love with a fisherman. These stories transport you to magical realms where fairies bestow life-changing gifts, enchanted forests challenge the valiant, and ancient curses are broken by the power of love. Each tale, vibrant with new dialogue and detailed scenes, invites you to explore the rich tapestry of Romanian folklore, filled with enchanted lakes, royal intrigue, illicit affairs, and mystical creatures.

In "Fables from Romania," these timeless tales are brought to life with modern language and a renewed sense of wonder. This collection preserves the magic of traditional stories while making them accessible and engaging for today's readers. From the adventures of Greuceanu and his epic quest to reclaim the stolen sun and moon, to the trials of the brave heroes who must outwit ogres and wicked beings, each fable offers a journey into a world where heroism, adventure, and enchantment reign supreme.

Essentially a public domain with rewording.

I did a side by side with the source material and feel disgusted. This is the way of the future, I guess.
