In the gripping sequel to BREATHE. Presly's return sparks a battle for her body between her inner Dark Witch and her newfound undead nature. Fueled by vengeance against the vampire she believes stole her entire life, she struggles to maintain control while navigating her overpowering feelings for Daris, the one who owns her body and soul. Presly The Dark Witch desires more than just my body; she hungers for my very soul. But she’s not the only one with claims on me. He owns every part of me—heart, body, and soul, wrapped in chains of desire and darkness. To possess me, she’ll have to face him in a battle where losing isn't an option, and the stakes are far more than just my life. DarisShe thinks she can do as she pleases now that she’s changed—now that she wields the power to end my life with a single touch. But she’s gravely mistaken if she believes I’ve lost my edge. I’m still capable of unthinkable deeds, the kind that make even monsters tremble. She’s still the girl I shattered on the beach, back when things were simple, before this darkness consumed us both.
I will show her that not only will I stop at nothing to protect her from the horrors that lurk in the shadows, but I will also teach her that I am the very thing she should fear most. Presly Landry belongs to me, no matter what she’s become. And nothing—not even her newfound power—will ever change that.

This the 2nd book in the Breathe Duet. It picks up pretty much where the first book, Breathe, left off. Presley is very much battling against herself in this book. That part I did like. Presly's inner battle not to let the dark side take over. I would've love to see Presley really lose it more and maybe stab Daris. Daris would've actually deserved it because he was a major jerk!
What I struggled with in this book is Daris. I liked Daris so much in Breathe but not so much in this book. Daris kept trying to prove how much he could own Presley and get her to do whatever he commanded so. Honestly, I really missed a lot of the intrigue and mystery from Breathe that surrounded Darius and Ian.
In this book it was like an open revolving door centered around bad BDSM and Presley. Presley came off a mess who was willing to seduce everyone she met practically. I know Presley was unstable, but it was just a stretch for me. Presley was far more innocent and independent in the first book. I know Presly's bad side was doing this. Eva and Presley was just plain hard to comprehend. Everytime Darius found out Presley lured someone to her like a succubus he wanted to degrade Presley to prove he owned her. Every man in this book thought they had the right to "own" a woman. I just didn't love that.
If Daris knew Ian really had feelings for Presley why let him touch her just to say it would never happen again? I would've rather Presley end up with Ian. Ian was far nicer in this book than Daris. I just liked Breathe better.

I received this as an arc from the author. Wow what a ride. The ups and downs. So much emotion between the characters. I would love to see this duet as a show or movie. I felt for all the characters and how they were all drawn to Presly. Presly, the independent woman finally lets others help her and realizes she doesn't need to do everything alone. This is what every survivor longs for to trust others and be vulnerable. I highly recommend this duet. Will be in my mind for a long time.
Sensational duet! This is book 2 so if you haven’t go read Breathe first. I don’t recall how I stumbled into these books but wow am I so glad I did. Presly is a stubbornly strong character but Daris is deliciously dark and dangerous 🖤. Love these two, their banter, the push and pull 💋. I will keep this book rent free in my mind for awhile for sure and I will certainly be recommending this one to my friends ❤️. Please go read the blurbs and check it out for yourself .
OMG 😱 this was absolutely marvelous story. It was an intense moment as it was emotions of pain and heartbreak. I couldn’t even imagine of put it down. It was a romance thriller and action packed of drama and chaos. Was it love and hatred that will turn out to be happiness I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Presley wakes up to find she has changed, and she needs to battle the Dark Witch to maintain control. Daris tries to find the answers she needs and fix things himself, but Presley is stubborn and determined to do things her way without her powerful lover taking over.
Wow I couldn’t put it down I stayed up most of the nights reading it I loved it it had me on my toes my emotions were everywhere 😭 I laughed I cried and got so angry I almost thru my kindle lol but I highly recommend it lol it was worth all those emotions I love the storyline and the characters so much 💖
I got lost somewhere in the middle because my life got in the way of my read, but other than that, it was a good read! I like that it picks up right where to last book left off and the new character! Of course the FMC is my favorite. This is a great vamp romance with some darkness 😍 👌
