Professional matchmaker Nakao Yuto has helped scores of people find their perfect match. But as a hopeless mama's boy, he's never had a relationship of his own. Everything changes the night he stumbles upon Monster Town, a hidden enclave bustling with sexy, supernatural singles. From a werewolf bachelorette to an irresistible succubus, many beauties struggle with finding love. Yuto decides this is the perfect place to set up shop--and maybe even find action for himself. Except there's one major problem--local matchmaker and God of Love Cupid doesn't appreciate a mortal showing him up on the job!
I honestly had no previous knowledge of this manga series before picking it up at an indie bookstore. So far it is not my favorite storyline, but I am looking forward to reading the next two just to see if it improves.
I really enjoy monster girl stories and this one really hits the spot. You have comedy, ecchi, and the start of a harem, but deep down the story is all about getting people married. This concept honestly could of ran for a long time but unfortunately it is only going to have four volumes.
Extremely fun read! The protagonist's shtick with their mom was hilarious, if a little overplayed in a couple of places. Really enjoyed the "cursed fetish bingo" and "BL doujin writer gorgon" chapters. I take some mild issue with the latter, as creating NSFW doujin is regarded as shameful and it appears that her friend gives up her hobbies for the man she's marrying, but I think that's quite common of straight relationships in both Japanese and American culture. It's not necessarily "good," just a matter of how things go. I would love to see more of them in the future, maybe still working on doujin together, with the friend's husband being cool with it/not a twat about it!
As always, I highly recommend people LOOK UP a book before reading it, ESPECIALLY if you find ANYTHING triggering! Skip this if the momson jokes make you squirm, or the cursed fetish bingo chapter makes you feel upset. Remember that you are in control of what you read, and you can curate your shelves however you like! Do not feel obligated to finish books you find uncomfortable or unsettling, and please do not harass authors for including those subjects. <3
An episodic slice of life fantasy with monster girls and guys. The protagonist has this fetish for his mom that could potentially turn some people off but I’ll add that it specifically is for the laughs. He even pulls out a “cursed fetish” bingo card that made me chuckle. I like how the “monsters” are not your typical depictions we see in manga/anime. I like how this series seems more gritty and feels more in tune with reality with how the jokes are written.
The art style is more of a comic/cartoon sketchy look but still cleans up. There are a lot of variations to panels and how things take up the page that helps the flow feel very smooth.
I enjoyed this and will be eagerly getting volume 2
The story is different, well for me at least, with funny characters and some weird ones. I do not think I was the target audience but this was a buy because cover looked like it was gonna be cute. The girls are cute but there is a lot of breast display for the reader. It doesn’t throw off from the story line though. Yuto is a matchmaker for monsters that has mommy issues. This comes into play to help him be good at his job and the harem grows a lot just in this first volume. He’s not interested but the women are and it leads to funny interactions with them all. I’ll read the rest but it’s not going to be top of my list.

I’m a sucker for stories involving monsters and the idea of monsters needing help leading to marriage was amusing to me. So this manga seemed right up my alley at first; in actuality it took me about midway through to actually get invested in and enjoy the story. I like the variety of different female characters thus far and don’t know how to feel about the main character. His extreme interest in his mother is a bit off-putting, but not enough to quit the story since he is pretty skilled at his job of matchmaking. Overall, I’m slightly cautious and slightly curious going into this next volume.
Watashiya hits it out of the park! Just imagine if the girls from Kodomo no Jikan were monster girls and Daisuke Sensei was a Momma’s boy/Marriage counselor. You get great art, a load of humor, some emotional waterworks, and a smattering of education on mythical creatures. It such a fun mashup! Very looking forward to the next volume!
Artwork is okay and that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Full of exposed boobs and fan service for cheap thrills. The "plot" sounds like a good premise but full of misogyny and damaging to self-esteem.
Well, this was interesting. I enjoyed the monster girls aspect, but the dude being infatuated with his mom was weird. I’m curious about the next volume to see if the story improves.
